My reason(s) for applying for Biggest Loser are:
I am sick of being single and being told “I am a great girl but”; I want to feel confident and beautiful and capable of enjoying a long and healthy life with a great guy; I want to have the confidence to perform in bands and theatre again and I want to have the confidence to teach again, to stand up in front of a class and know I am strong and confident both mentally and physically.

I first realized I was overweight and needed help when:
I have been painfully aware of being overweight my whole life. The problem started getting worse in my early twenties and has peaked in recent years. Photos of my friend’s wedding brought home how bad it has gotten. This year the problem was highlighted again when a friend confessed that she was worried about me and sick of hearing guys say ‘Sheridan would be a great girl if only she lost weight.’

I hope to lose weight but gain:
Confidence; a partner; self respect and an optimistic outlook for my future.

The previous contestant I have found inspiring was (and why?)
Kimberlie; such a big girl with a sharp mind and steer determination, she came in as an intruder and went on to succeed under excessive pressure.

The best part of being on Biggest Loser is:
The opportunity to find out what I am really made out and finally admitting I have a problem and realising I am determined and able to change.

I am preparing myself for this journey by:
Trying to tell myself that this time it won’t be “Sheridan is great but…” instead saying “Sheridan is great, determined and going to succeed.”

I think the most difficult part of being on Biggest Loser will be:
Being away from friends and family; digging down to scary personal depths to get results and making my vulnerabilities open and exposed.

My biggest weakness is:
Chocolate and moments of self doubt.

Some bad habits I would like to get rid of are:
Binge/comfort eating; inactivity and automatically assuming that I won’t/can’t achieve my goals.

The one thing I want Australia to know about me is that:
I’m vitally flawed and terribly embarrassed about my situation but willing to commit to changing my entire life for this chance. I will work hard and not give up even in my moments of self doubt.

I think I will win the Biggest Loser because:
I have a good heart, determination and the ability to commit.

One thing I have never done because I was overweight and will do once I loose the weight will be to:
I haven’t been horse riding in years even though I rode as a teenager- I would love to ride again and to wear a two piece swimsuit on a public beach.
