Quote: “I want to be the smallest person in the room. I don’t want to be the first person that is noticed because of my weight. Never again.”

Lydia would love to be able to love herself both inside and out and improve her emotional and physical health – a healthy mind is a healthy body. She understands that she has to be happy with herself before she can have a relationship and start a family.

Lydia is a social and confident farm girl. She used to be fit and competed in equestrian at a national level. Horses are her life but due to a poor diet her weight now affects her riding and she can no longer pursue her passion.

The wake-up call for Lydia about her weight was when she needed a seat belt extension when travelling on a plane because of her size. She would like to lose the weight, become a better person and overcome her fear of ‘not being able to love herself.’ Lydia is preparing herself for her journey by, “trying hard to stay focussed on ME.”

Lydia is determined to stay focussed and win the competition. “My life is full of wonderful people. It’s time for me to be one of then.”

My reason for applying for Biggest Loser:
My friend Alysha encouraged me to apply and through the audition/selection process I discovered I needed to love myself inside and out.
I first realised I was overweight and needed help when:
I needed a seat belt extension when sitting on a plane.
I hope to lose weight but gain:
Confidence, knowledge of nutrition, new friends and the experience of a lifetime.
A previous contestant I have found inspiring is:
Chris – his determination to fight his own personal demons, plus the negativity of the housemates when he returned as an intruder and worked flat out.
The best part of being on The Biggest Loser is:
Overcoming the fear of liking myself.
I am preparing myself for this journey by:
Trying hard to stay focussed on ME.
I think the most difficult part of being on The Biggest Loser will be:
Other team mates trying to strategise and being part of a team, at the start.
My biggest weakness is:
Impatience.
Some bad habits I would like to get rid of are:
Poor diet and eating habits.
The one thing I want Australia to know about me is:
My life is full of wonderful people, it’s time for me to be one.
I think I will win The Biggest Loser because:
I know I will win because of my determination and focus.
One thing I have never done because I was overweight that I will do once I’ve lost the weight is:
I want to be the smallest person in the room. I don’t want the first thing people notice about me to be my weight. Never again!
