Contrary to her siblings Meg, Sarah-Jayne and Jarrod, Emma used to be thin, but five years ago her weight began spiralling out of control.
“It’s really hard going from being thin to being big,” she rues, “people look at you differently. When you go out to dinner they’re eating a salad, you’re having a steak and you feel bad for it.”
Emma concedes that for her, eating is very much an emotional reflex, and with another vice being laziness, she’s not nearly as active as she should be. In returning to the size she once was, Emma hopes to reignite the spark of her and her husband’s love life, and regain her sense of self-worth in the process.
