Wayne plays the “happy-go-lucky” guy but inside he is scared for his health and that being overweight will kill him.

Wayne watched his father die at the age of 53 from a heart attack. His dad was overweight with a beer belly and he fears every day that the same thing might happen to him. He once got caught in a flood when he was in the car with his son and daughter. The only way to escape was through the window but because he is obese he couldn’t save himself or his daughter. They ended up being saved by his son.

Wayne is worried about the kind of role model he is for his young daughter and is taking part in The Biggest Loser to provide some motivation for her.

Because he feels so embarrassed about his size he hasn’t been naked in front of his wife for two years. He wants them to have the intimacy back in their relationship.
