Shannon blames himself entirely for his weight. He admits that he eats badly and doesn’t exercise and even though he knows it’s wrong, he’s been too lazy and daunted to do anything about it.

Shannon is taking part in The Biggest Loser with best mate Chris because he feels like he’s heading for an early grave carrying all that extra weight around.

He’s madly in love with his fiancé and worries that he will die and leave her alone. He would love to start a family with her and have kids at the same time as best mate Chris but he is so worried for his health he’s only expecting to live 2-5 more years.

He has committed to giving up the 40 cigarettes a day he smokes for the show.
