Finale airing next Tuesday night!
We don’t have much longer to wait to find out who takes out the title of The Biggest Loser this year. The Finale airs Tuesday, 8th of April at 7.30pm. It’s scheduled to go for an hour but expect it to run long, it always does!
Of course I say “this year” but all this happened last year, with the Finale being taped around July. The Biggest Loser has a fairly casual relationship with time…
There should be one more elimination between now and then, possibly during Friday night’s episode?
But forget about that – who do we think will win? My money’s on Craig, if he can survive till then!
Loser bumped to Wednesday night. In other news…
The Biggest Loser Australia returns tomorrow night, 7.30pm. Presumably to try and dodge some of the mauling My Kitchen Rules has been inflicting on it in the ratings.
But off in America-land they’ve been dealing with something of a controversy arising from their most recent series finale. Winner Rachel Frederickson shed over 60 percent of her body weight to take both the title and the record for most weightloss by percentage in any season worldwide.
Naturally this has drawn a past contestant of our own out of the woodwork, along with perennial fingerpointer and former host Ajay Rochester.
First we have season 3 contestant Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello, who spills the beans on the fake weigh in scales used for TV and that it’s not always exactly a week between weigh ins. Hardly surprising news to most folk, though the time between weigh ins is something one would hope they’ve worked on in recent seasons.
Ajay’s back too, with her claims of contestants drinking tea tree oil and dehydrating themselves to a dangerous extent. She’s offering online consultations to help people lose weight, which seems a little ridiculous given she can’t keep her own weight under control. It’s a tough struggle, no doubt, but if she doesn’t have the answers for herself why would people trust her advice? Bit odd.
Before I link to the story I feel it’s important to warn there’s a picture of Ajay in a bikini and a picture of Rachel Frederickson at the finale. Both may be disturbing to some viewers!

Season 9 Contestant/Champion Pages Now Available
With apologies for the delay, the Season 9 Champion Profiles are now available via the top menu. They’re also available here on the official site, but as always I am keeping a copy here because the official site scrubs the old profiles from existence when a season is done airing.
Feel free to leave a comment on any of the profile pages here but do bear in mind this is an unofficial site and the champions may never read anything you have to say. It’s just us random internetters gabbling among ourselves, as is our wont.
Don’t forget the show is on again tonight!
One Person’s Experience At The Biggest Loser Retreat
Natalie Bochenski of the Brisbane Times got to spend a few days at The Biggest Loser Retreat during its first week of operation in 2014. Formerly known as The Golden Door (and doubtless brought about thanks to the success of the show) the fat camp has been rebranded and spruced up a bit.
Full time trainers and other staff are on hand to assist you in getting fit, but it’s still all down to your own motivation to get it done. And probably how much you value the money you spent on attending.
The article is an interesting read, especially if you’d been considering it yourself. You can read it in full here.
Don’t forget The Biggest Loser starts again tonight, 6.30pm on Channel 10. Recap to appear shortly after the show finishes at 8pm. ;-)
The Biggest Loser Series 9 Extended Audition Tapes
Rather than auditions to just be on the show, which is sort of open to everyone in Ararat, these are auditions to go to some sort of TBL Boot Camp.
Shannan and Commando Steve are doing the interviewing and you can watch online: Clicky link.
A nurse in training, a nurse who has completed her training and the friendly local supermarket manager guy. Nothing too unusual yet. But Ararat’s probably not brimming with unusual folk, is it?
If you scroll to the bottom of the page there’s some other clips available, including another interview with Cameron, the supermarket man and some more teasers for the show.
