TBL 11×13 – Revealing everyone’s vote? Fiona is most best!

Previously on The Biggest Loser the contestants were training with the GWS Giants, then they had to cook lunch for the boys. Surprisingly, Orange won a cooking challenge and will have some kind of advantage for today’s challenge.

Today! Another team challenge with an elimination on the other end of it. But first, writing things on barrels! For some reason.

Shannan, Libby and Fiona are out front of the Biggest Loser headquarters to greet the contestants today. Team challenge time, winning team safe from elimination, losing team to go to The Arena to vote out a member of their team.

Luke, how’s your transformation going so far? He’s a little frustrated with his progress but he’s pushing through it, unlike what he would have done before.

Amy says Shannan challenges her every time, in a good way, as is discussing things they wouldn’t normally discuss in the house.

Fiona says the first part of the challenge is not a competition, it’s about remembering what you came here for. There’s ten totems behind them and each person will take one and write a few words about their most transformative moments in the competition, something that continues to motivate and inspire them today.

Amy’s done two, one about opening up to people which she didn’t really do before. The other is just a picture of her holding weights, from when she beat Simon in the head to head challenge. That was a big turning point for her.

Simon’s writing about the future, and the newly positive outlook he has on the future.

Simmo’s first word is Mum. He got a bit emotional when he lost a good amount of weight at the first weigh-in. She got cancer and died, but she’s still his inspiration.

Nikki’s writing about Libby’s stupid rock present! And how it meant there’s beauty inside her.

Fiona comes to have a chat with Matt. Matt’s written about Shannan. He was worried initially, because Shannan’s a big strong dude, no nonsense, which isn’t something Matt’s had before. Shannan’s pushed him physically, but also helped him emotionally.

Lisa-Faye (not a real name) has written Daily Admissions, she’s been admitting more and more things to herself and facing up to them. She says her son has an old Mum, but he doesn’t have to have an old, fat Mum.

Lynton’s written about his third weigh-in, which was a turning point for him. Showed him he could lose the weight if he stuck with it.

Brett’s struggling to spell strength and he’s asked Lynton for help, says he can’t spell his own name sometimes. Well, you used to be a boxer… His pride, passion and strength have come back so he’s written that on his totem.

Fee’s gone to chat with Luke, who wrote about his solo kayak experience. He says it was a good learning experience, though he wouldn’t do it again!

Josh says he was shocked he was in Obese 3 category. His family is what’s keeping him there now.

Libby’s down to 5 contestants, with Josh injured. Shannan’s been working on his team’s teamwork for the last couple of weeks, so he’s hoping that holds out for today’s challenge.

The challenge today is to build a totem pole out of the team’s totems. Push a totem on an iron sled across the wharf, then someone pulls a bag of connectors out of the harbour. Then use blocks to build a staircase, then one team member has to assemble the totempole. Winners are safe, losers go to elimination.

Orange won the advantage at yesterday’s challenge and now they get to find out what it is. Their staircase will already be built for them. That’s a pretty good advantage as it will take Blue a couple of minutes to assemble theirs.

Josh will be taking part in the challenge, but someone will have to push his sled for him. They pick Simon to run twice because he’s the fastest and fittest they’ve got left.

Ready, steady, go!

Simon takes a huge early lead over Amy, as Amy is trying to push the sled from too high a position. Shannan says they’ve practiced sleds all the time in training and the secret is to get down low and push with your legs.

Amy’s still trying to push her sled when Simon’s finished and their sled is being dragged back to the start via a rope.

Luke’s next for Orange and he’s absolutely smashing it as well. Things don’t look good for Blue.

But then Luke starts hitting wonkier bits on the concrete wharf, slowing him down.

Orange team may have made a tactical blunder though, sending the boys out first means Simon’s still trying to recover and only Nikki and Lisa-Faye (not a real name) are available to pull their sled back.

Meanwhile, Blue have kept big strong boys for the pulling. After Brett’s push from end to end they’re just about back on par with Orange. And during Nikki’s push Lynton’s gone past her! Blue back in the lead.

Shannan says Lynton’s always turned up for challenges and today’s no exception!

Nikki’s still pushing along, she’s not giving up even though she’s really struggling now. They’re still in with a chance if they can keep going.

Matt’s on for Blue next as they’ve cleverly left Simmo for the last leg. He’ll have to pull the sled back by himself and then push it for the final lap.

Shannan’s really impressed with Matt’s effort today as he would have just given up before. Not even once did he look like giving up.

Lisa-Faye (not a real name) is second last for Orange and Simmo’s blitzed past her, so Blue is first to get to work on pulling up their connectors.

Brett’s pulling the chain up for Blue, but he’s struggling quite a bit. It’s a lot of rope and a heavy chain with a heavy bag full of metal rods at the end of it. But he manages to get the bag clear of the water at last and it gets a lot easier from there.

Meanwhile, Simon’s got his sled back to the start and has started pushing to the end. He’s driving hard, even though it’s his second run of the day.

Blue carry all their totems up to the building platform, but then they have to go back and get their stair blocks. Luke’s pulling up the rope and chain and bag for his team. They’re still behind at this point, but Blue have got their stairs built in quick order. Lynton’s got up top of the platform and has all the totems and connectors up and starting to plug them all together.

Blue’s got all the connectors plugged in, but there’s a certain order they have to be put together, so Lynton’s having a bit of trouble working out which one is the bottom piece.

Fiona announces that the team can swap people building it at any time, so Orange decide to put Josh up there for some reason? He has a busted rib, what are you thinking?

Lynton’s finally got the base piece connected, it only gets easier from there, fewer pieces to sort through!

Josh hasn’t even got all the pegs into his totems while Lynton’s now got two pieces on their stack. They swap Lynton out because he’s getting a bit frustrated. Simmo gets up top and gets stuck in.

Meanwhile Team Orange is trying to convince Josh to swap out but he’s not listening to them. They’re going to lose badly if he doesn’t hear them soon… oh, there we go, Nikki’s finally gone up to replace Josh.

Just in time for Blue to win yet another challenge! Shannan’s thrilled his team won but also impressed by all the words on their totempoles.

Josh is pretty sure he’ll be the one voted out now, after today’s performance. Seems a safe bet, but who knows.

Simmo still has the power to keep someone safe from elimination, is he going to use it?

YES! Wow, that’s quite surprising. Wonder who he’s thinking of saving. If he chooses Josh that’ll really put the cat among the pigeons!

After an ad break, Simmo says that the team had decided to give immunity to Nikki. Some people need to be there more than others, everyone deserves it but they want to make sure Nikki can stay after the elimination.

Simmo tells us in an aside that they’re hoping this means they’ll send Josh home, because he’s a “threat” at weigh-in (threat of not losing enough?) or Simon, because he’s straight up a strong dude, which will make him hard to beat in Arena challenges.

Blue’s back in the lounge room to chat while they wait for the voting result. Everyone’s praising Matt’s effort in the sled push, Matt says it’s also great how well they’re all working together now.

Simmo’s hoping Simon will go, Brett would vote for Luke. Josh needs to be there more than Simon, Matt thinks. Both in terms of weight and education.

Lynton thinks Nikki and Lisa-Faye (not a real name) will stick together, because girls! Amy thinks Luke will go with whatever Nikki chooses as well. But apparently Orange don’t discuss votes beforehand, they make their minds up in the room.

Orange Team now enter the elimination room and Fiona reminds them that Nikki has immunity.

Luke says that coming from a team environment he loves to build people up, so he brings a lot to the team. Fee asks him if everyone’s giving 100% in training and he says yes.

Nikki says she got the immunity because she’s not pulling the bigger numbers for her team, while the others are all losing good figures. Losing any of them will be tough for the team, where she might not have been such a loss.

Simon likes the fact they’ve decided to make individual decisions, rather than talking it out. Might not be so happy if the result doesn’t go your way!

Josh still wants to be there now, though when he was first injured he thought it was all over. Having to face elimination was what pushed him into a competitive frame of mind. He wants to win the whole thing.

Lisa-Faye (not a real name) says Josh is their heart, she’s their arranger, Nikki’s the grit and determination, Luke’s their captain of team morale, Simon’s their secret weapon with his strength and determination, like he showed today.

That’s not exactly a secret, everyone knows Simon’s strong!

Lisa-Faye (not a real name) says the team agreed right from the start that there’d be no discussions or alliances or politicking behind the scenes. If it comes to a vote, they’d go in and make up their own minds. Doesn’t make for great drama but oh well, this season’s been light on that anyway.

Josh votes first. He’s voted for a guy who broke his rib. He couldn’t come up with a reason to vote for anyone else, so he’s voted for Luke. Josh says they’re going to have a BBQ afterwards and forget about it.

Lisa-Faye (not a real name) says she’s not sure she’s doing the right thing. Person she’s voting for is the most genuine, amicable, honest people she’s ever met. She’s voted for Josh, because he’s injured and can’t add to the team as much anymore. She’s worried he might do himself some more damage if he keeps pushing in the house.

Nikki admires the person she’s voted for, she’s admired them since day one, so it kills her to vote for them. Nikki knows the person hates sitting on the sideline, so she’s had to vote for Josh. Josh looks a little… surprised?

Two votes for Josh, one for Luke.

Josh says they’d said no pacts, just what’s best for the team.

They’re sure dragging this out a lot longer than necessary. Another ad break!

Luke’s turn to vote. Voting out the guy he broke the rib of is going to suck!

Luke says he’s in the room with the guy every night and hears the pain he’s in, he can’t stand seeing the guy hurt himself anymore. Josh gets Luke’s vote as well and Josh will be eliminated.

Fiona says Simon’s vote obviously doesn’t matter, but reveal it anyway. THANK YOU FIONA!

Josh says they’re going to go back to Kuring-gai National Park every year, Blue Team as well. Good memories from their time on the show. It was great kayaking across Sydney Harbour. Stand on a cliff watching whales. That’s the stuff he takes away from it, all the good stuff, not the negative.

Bye Josh! Josh groans when he stands up, rib is obviously giving him a lot of grief. Lots of hugs for people. Nikki cries. Awww!

Josh tells us he’s very grateful to Libby for all her encouragement and life coaching, not just the training. He’s looking forward to getting home and starting his new life.

Blue’s still waiting for the Oranges to come back. They’re all a bit worried it might be someone like Lisa-Faye (not a real name) who’s gone home, but it’s Josh. Nikki’s still in tears, Amy gives her a big hug.

Josh didn’t want his kids to think he’d given up, but the pain was getting too much.

Josh voted for Luke, much to everyone’s amusement.

Tomorrow afternoon, another mental health session with Glenn, this time out in the countryside. With a pony!

Training for the Orange Team gets rough as the reality of having to send Josh home sets in. But then, another team challenge he would have had to sit out of anyway. Presumably this is the “advantage at the weigh-in” challenge for the week, so Orange will be desperate to win with just four team members left.

Find out tomorrow afternoon!
