TBL 10×37 – Last Last Chance Training. EVER. For This Season.

Previously on The Biggest Loser Families… Ummmm. Oh, right, Tony won another challenge and chose to send Johnee home. Because he’s a threat?

We saw the start of another challenge but again we’ve had to wait until tonight to find out who’s going to win. The prize on offer is immunity from elimination and with only one elimination remaining before finale, well, that’s a pretty nice prize, isn’t it?

This challenge has the contestants putting all their old weight back on in the form of sandbags. Do a 400m lap of the track and you can take a week’s worth of weight out of your pack. Then do 11 more laps.

It’s going to be a long, long challenge.

And then the very last training session of the year and then weigh in and then another elimination and then everyone goes home for a bit before finale and then we find out who wins and then I can stop typing things!

The trainers are all there for the running challenge, they’re going to need all the support they can get. Tiff thinks the best strategy is to try and grab an early lead in the first lap and start unloading sooner. Not sure it is the best choice, probably better to keep some in the tank?

Rob’s struggling, he can’t believe how much weight is on his back, he doesn’t know how he functioned like that.

Tenealle’s bringing up the rear. Steve’s still proud of her because she’s not giving up. But Tony, Daniel and Pablo are way out in front. Tony’s first to unload, 13.1kg, his face is red as a tomato already. Can he get even redder? Don’t have to rep red team that hard, mate!

Tony can feel the difference straight away, his pack is a lot lighter already and so the straing on his joints is already greatly reduced.

Sam gets a measily 4kg out of her pack but she’s picking up the pace. The boys are all pulling out huge numbers, both because they’re boys and because the Jofres have had pretty good weeks, every single week.

Tenealle lost 8.7kg in the first week. She doesn’t think she can win but she’s not going to give up.

Pablo’s next week was 2.1kg, which isn’t a whole lot. Bet he wishes it was more now.

Sam’s knackered after four laps. Her face is bright red and she looks like she’s ready to fall over. She’s still mentally there but it looks like the body is fading. She’s determined to stick in there for her daughter. Into lap 5 and Rob’s managed to overtake her. His main goal was to beat her, she’s much younger than him.

This was the week Rob was the biggest loser of the week, he pretty much bounded up onto the scales after he got to talk to his daughter and partner via Skype. Mish asks Rob to promise he’s never going to do this again. Rob can’t answer, too puffed, mimes shooting his old self with finger pistol.

The weights are falling off the contestants as they trudge around and around. Well, most of them are trudging, Tony’s jogging. Jogging! Even with the rest of the weight still on him. He’s lapping people more and more frequently.

And we’re up to the week Daniel put on weight! Mish has to put weight back in his pack this time. Not fun, he didn’t have fun on the scales either.

Pablo’s week 10 was a pretty good one, got his makeover and got to see his Mum and had his 30th birthday. Awww! It’s also the week Tony and Rob put on weight after eating too many muffins and jelly at Pablo’s party.

Tenealle’s turn to be biggest loser of the week! She only lost 1.3kg that week but nobody had a particularly good week. That was just before the contestants returned, too.

Tony’s down to his final lap. He gets to take his backpack off at last and he gives his last lap everything he’s got. Sprinting across the finish line to a hug from Mish and cheers from Fiona. Tony’s officially the first into finale.

Unless he puts weight on again. Better not!

Daniel finishes next. Pablo’s the last of the Jofres to cross the line, with Tony and Daniel going back to pace him for the final stretch. I guess Rob was too knackered?

Sam says she’s never putting the weight back on, it’s gone for good now.

Tenealle’s the last to cross the finish line. Everyone’s applauding and cheering as she finishes and it’s a good effort, she’s the shortest, it’s harder for her stumpy little legs to get up to speed!

Fiona says none of them would have been able to do that at the start of the journey, so well done. But especially to Tony, who has won immunity from the final elimination for his huge effort in the challenge.

Back at Camp Biggest Loser they’ve got DVDs to watch. The first is labelled Training Session #1. The accompanying letter says it’s been 3 months since they came to Camp and soon they will be finished. Take a look back at where you started and see how far you’ve come before an epic training session tonight!

Sam’s shocked by how fat her face was. She can barely believe it was her. She struggled a lot in that first session, was out of breath in the first 10 seconds. Lots of emotions. Tiff wouldn’t let them turn the treadmills on, apparently. She had to power it herself by walking I guess? Sam says her arms were so flabby and Rob says yeah but look how far you’ve come!

Auvales next. Tenealle’s changed a lot, Sam says excitedly. She seems almost more surprised by Tenealle’s transformation. Tenealle’s amazed at how much their whole family has changed. Tenealle really wants to be at finale now, she’s worked too hard not to be there.

Jofres turn. The nephews are particularly thrilled to see how far Rob’s come, both physically and mentally. They like the new Rob.

Daniel used to think he looked good in a singlet, but obviously he didn’t. They’re all a bit embarassed by their efforts in the first session. And then Pablo has to go barf. In the first session, not now.

Rob says he’s a completely different guy than the one who came to Camp. Sam says she didn’t think she’d ever make it past that first training session, much less this far.

Pablo says a big difference now is they were all in pain and hating it back then, but now, it hasn’t gotten easier because the intensity has increased, but they’re enjoying it more. Particularly the results.

But now it’s time for the final training session. The last Last Chance Training of the year. They’re driven through the bush to get to the training location, at night, and the first person they see is Shannan. Even he’s back for this, so you know it’s going to be big.

Shannan’s looking all tough and intimidating but Pablo’s got a grin creeping onto his face and Shannan can’t keep a smile off his face. They’re all happy to see him again. Shannan’s then got them going on a warm up run through the bush, with miner lights on their heads. They get to the end of their run and Tiff, Mish and Steve are waiting for them. As is an epic obstacle course!

Welcome to the last Last Chance Training, ever, Mish says. This is the session everyone wants to get to and the four of them have come up with something amazing. It’s absolutely within all of their abilities, time to take it on.

This session isn’t really about the competition, it’s not in teams or anything, they’re all working together in the bits that require it, like pulling a tire across the paddock.

Tiff’s impressed by the contestants. It’s cold, dark and muddy and there’s no complaints from any of them. Sam tells Tiff this is the start of her new life, no more complaining or making excuses or giving up. Tiff believes she can do it, she’s got the fight and the fire in her now. She can do anything!

They’re carrying two tires each as they run through the tires on the ground. They put the two tires at the front of the line and go back to the beginning of it. Over and over! Then they form human bridges and each of them has to commando crawl underneath it.

Next obstacle is a 2.5m wall. They’ve all got to get over it. But they’re working together. They had some water containers to stand on but in the end they do it via brute strength and cooperation. Tony gets up top to help people over, Rob and Daniel brace themselves at the bottom to form a human stepladder. Daniel’s the last up over the wall, with Tony giving him a bit of an accidental wedgie as he goes over the top. Mish asks when was the last time he gave his brother a wedgie? Heh.

The Jofres are smashing it, Mish says. They’ve got a fire inside them now and they’re living now.

Tenealle’s in a lot of pain, says it’s the toughest training yet. She’s keeping up with the boys though, which makes Steve very proud. All the hard work she’s done over the past couple of months is paying off.

They’re all looking pretty knackered, but it’s not over yet. Time to wake them up, Steve says with glee, rubbing his hands together.

There’s a big container, full of iced water. Two logs across the container. They’ve got to get in the container and go under the logs and get out the other side.

The trainers put the ice in there themselves, Shannan said, but there’s no ice left in it by the time they all get in.

Tony and Daniel are first into the container and start helping the others through.

Sam’s really not enjoying the water. Lots of swears, Mish tells her to shut up and get through it. The girls are definitely doing it tougher than the Jofre boys, who look like they must be taking ice baths on the regular.

Well done everyone, you’ve survived the last training session. Woo!

Steve says they’ve changed their lives forever!

After the training session they’re heading back off to the cars and one of the Jofres calls for them to run it. Mish sounds a bit surprised, but says alright! And they all trot off. Crazy!

Back at Camp, it’s the last bit of time before the weigh in tonight. Everyone’s in the kitchen having a nice chat. They’re all feeling pretty good, but Tony says he’s feeling pretty safe. Sam calls for somebody to slap him. Hah.

And then, Fiona! Hi! She never comes to the house unexpectedly, it’s always when there’s news to relay.

They all expected to be heading to weigh in soon, but there’s one more hurdle before the end. One final test of their willpower. You could call it the final temptation, Fiona says.

Outside there’s a case. Inside the case, a cheque for $20,000. It’s a lot of money for most of them and any of them can claim it for themself.

All they’ve got to do is go outside and strike the giant gong next to it. Of course, there’s a catch. Take the money, leave the competition immediately. No weigh in, no shot at finale, no chance of being the biggest loser of the year.

Sam has been offered this before, but turned it down. Will she be more tempted now, since she’s right at the end anyway? She tells us she’s had no regrets about turning it down the first time, but this is another matter.

One weigh in away, Fiona says. How much is the shot at finale worth to them? $20,000?

Everyone’s in a bit of shock, nobody was expecting this at all.

Fiona says the offer won’t last forever. They’ve only got one hour to make up their mind and there’s only one cheque up for offer. Whoever hits the gong first gets the money.

If nobody takes the money then it’s taking your chances at weigh in.

Everyone’s looking a bit tense. Rob doesn’t want Tony or Daniel to take it, but both look like they might be keen.

Last hour of Temptation starts… now.

No movement… for all of a second. Then Daniel’s running off to the gong. Followed by Tony. Is Tony going to stop Daniel? Is Sam following Tony to try and beat them to it? Does Daniel just want to hear the noise, Pablo wonders?

As Daniel nears the gong, Tony calls out to him. Daniel doesn’t hit the gong right away, they discuss it first. They’re not sure whether to take it or not, they’ve got good numbers, all four of them, they’ve got to be in with a good chance. But they’ve run out of time to discuss it, Sam’s reached the gong and gives it a belt. Rob’s very relieved, he thinks it would have been a mistake for one of his nephews to have hit it.

Everyone congratulates Sam, who thought Daniel was going to hit it. Sam’s thinking it could be a deposit on a house, or a diamond ring suggests Tenealle. Cliff’s going to be so excited, one of the Jofres says. Tenealle suggests maybe she doesn’t need to tell Cliff!

Sam says she made the decision because her numbers aren’t good enough to win, she’s around 17% while the Jofres are all around 30%. It’s not a race she could win so she’ll take some money and head home.

Sam says they’ve become great friends over the weeks and she’s glad she came. She’s a very different person now, much healthier and a better outlook on life. She’s very glad she made it back into the house, even if only for a little while. She’s happy to end her journey there.

She knows Tiff will be disappointed, Tiff wanted to get her to finale.

Bye Sam, go home!

Down to just five contestants. Final weigh in to come, then the final elimination. Four Jofres, one Auvale. Can Tenealle overcome the odds stacked against her? If she’s above the yellow line then she makes it and the Jofre clean sweep is off!

Time for weigh in! Fiona looks smashing in a lace top. Tiff looks a bit smashed by the lack of Sam, she’s worried maybe Sam got eliminated.

Not quite, Tiff. Not quite.

It is now 8.34pm and there are ads on. I don’t think we’re getting a weigh in tonight, are we. Saving all the excitement for tomorrow night? But I wanted to know tonight!

After the ads the bad news is relayed to Tiff. Poor Tiffiny. Out of the competition at the final hurdle.

Fiona tells them there was a Temptation. They got offered $20,000 to leave the competition. Tiff is very surprised, and sad. She wanted to see Sam’s hard work pay off. But she knows it’s a hell of a lot of money for Sam and Cliff. Sam was smart to take the money, Tiff tells us.

Just the Jofres and a lone Auvale to weigh in. Final five, congrats!

This is the very last weigh in before the finale. And it’ll be the toughest to survive so far. No ordinary weigh in this time. Five are here, but only three get a one way ticket to finale. No elimination, straight sending the people below the line home? No votes?

Mish is particularly disappointed because they’ve been working towards having all four in the finale.

Looks like there’s only two spots above the yellow line, then two below the line, then one below a RED LINE. Presumably, the smallest loser of the week is getting instant elimination? Might not be a bad idea for next season.

Only one thing stands between an all-Jofre finale – Tenealle. Can she claw her way above the yellow line one final time?

Tune in tomorrow night. Should be a cracker of a weigh in!
