TBL 10×35 – All Hailwood Elimination. How Screwed Is Cliff?
Previously on The Biggest Loser the Super Challenge resulted in Tony, Cliff and Sam returning to the competition after Ali failed a calorie counting challenge she should have aced. Oh dear, we are all so sad!
At the weigh in another disappointing result from Cliff and Sam has sent them below the yellow line. Together. A Hailwood is definitely going straight back home, but will it be Sam or Cliff? Sam wants to save Cliff but Cliff’s the bigger threat and the Jofres will definitely vote for him, right?
Well, we’ll see. Stranger things have happened. And Sam does seem more likely to actually lose the weight than Cliff!
First, Sam and Cliff are having a chat about facing elimination. Cliff is “devo”, he tells Sam. Sam wants Cliff to stay because he’s got more weight to lose, but she’s disappointed to go home after fighting so hard to get back in. Cliff tells us he’d go in Sam’s place if he could, she means everything to him. Awww!
Sam says they’re both doing it for their daughter. They’ve put in a lot of work and have come so far, but if it comes down to health then Cliff’s the one who needs to stay.
No pleading with the voters tonight, just straight into the elimination room? Okay.
Fiona’s in a maroon-y purple top. Love it!
Fiona tells them there’s six people voting so a hung vote is possible. Lowest weight loss percentage was Sam, so she’d be the one to go home in the unlikely event of a tie.
Cliff tells Fiona Sam means everything to him but he really needs to be there, he’s 63kg heavier than her and Sam said she’d rather he stay and finish his journey.
Johnee, can you relate to that? Johnee doesn’t like the answer Cliff gave, if it was him and Tenealle up that end he’d be asking everyone to vote him out, he loves his wife that much. Cliff’s the man, he’s supposed to take the bullet for his woman, never let the woman take a bullet for you, make sure she’s safe, Johnee says.
Sam says sorry to Johnee, he might think Cliff isn’t manning up but the other day while watching the audition tapes Sam was so scared she’d lose Cliff to a heart attack like they lost Cliff’s Dad to poor health. She can’t sit there and say send him home, she loves him so much and she can’t lose him, she’ll take the bullet if that’s what it takes. If you can’t decide who to send home, write her name down.
Not going to help, I expect!
Daniel’s first to vote. He says Sam’s on par with Tony for fitness, which is a threat if there’s more challenges. But Cliff’s still got the weight to lose and that’s a bigger threat. Sorry Cliff!
Tenealle thought about what’s better for her journey. Sam can run fast and Tenealle can’t run, so if there’s a running challenge she’d be doomed. So she’s voted for Sam. Likely due to the TOP SECRET HAIVALE ALLIANCE.
Pablo says they can do it on the outside so it’s got to come down to what is best for him. He’s voted Cliff as well. Two for Cliff, one for Sam.
Johnee’s next. He says they’re all playing for themselves now, at the end of the day there’s only one winner. But he’s basing it on something his brother told him. In the hour before he left, he said the biggest guys have got to lose the weight. So to honour Moses’ wishes, he’s not writing Cliff’s name down. He’s voted Sam as well. One more vote will send her home.
Tony’s next. He knows it’s hard being up for elimination with a fellow family member, having done it last week. He saw how big a threat Sam was at the super challenge, but Cliff still has the weight to lose. He’s voted for Cliff as well.
It all rides on Rob’s vote. Poor Rob! Rob says they both fought hard to get back in and no matter what happens tonight, they know they can do it now. What his vote came down to was who could take his spot in the game. And so he’s voted for Cliff. Four votes for Cliff! He’s back out. At least he got voted out this time, not just turfed by a Temptation power.
Cliff says he’s had a good run, he’ll see them again at finale. Future’s looking much brighter for him, Sam and their daughter. Aww! Bye Cliff!
Later, in the lounge, Sam says she thinks Cliff will be fine on the outside, he’s already got his gym and personal trainer set up from last time he went home. So he should be fine.
Then the Jofres notice Sam is sitting with Johnee and Tenealle. Why? They voted her out!
Apparently the Jofres overheard the alliance chat but hadn’t said anything. Heh.
The trainers turn up. Tiff’s not surprised Cliff is gone, but still disappointed. Tiff tells Sam she just has to concentrate on herself now. No more worrying about Cliff, just work on her own fitness now.
Mish tells them they’re in the final week! Who’s nervous? Many of the contestants confess to some nerves, as do Mish and Tiff. Steve’s cool, as usual. Tiff tells us it’s the final week and she’s got one Hailwood left. And it’s all she’ll need. Hah, we’ll see!
Special training session for everyone today. Getting them ready to face the outside world and the temptations out there. Everyone’s favourite foods are in the gym with them. Delicious pizzas and burgers and fried chicken. I miss fried chicken. My KFC closed for renovations recently. My heart has been breaking ever since.
Sam’s got donuts, fizzy drinks, cookies, chocolates, hot chips. They don’t have to eat any of it today, it’s about overcoming the old bad habits. I hope they let the crew pig out afterwards! Some of those donuts look great!
Tiff’s grabbing handfuls of chips and stuffing them in the cup holder on the treadmill. Grosssssss. Then she picks up a hamburger and gets grease all over her hands to show Sam. Sam says it’s all a heart attack waiting to happen. When she was eating that stuff she never could have been running on the treadmill like she is.
Just let me eat a little of it, Tiff. Just a handful or so.
They have a “pasta disaster” of some kind. Not sure Sam could have packed the huge bowl of it away even when she was fat.
Now Tiff’s putting food in the way of her while she punches a heavy bag, then puts a burger on top of a kicking bag and has her kick upwards, sending the burger flying. They’re making a disgusting mess, no way they’re going to be allowed back to the new Camp now!
It’s going to be a good week, Sam insists.
Time for the Jofres to face their temptations. Big plates of meat, pizza, churros, some bottles of fizzy drink… and cigarettes. That’s a little cruel, nicotine is actually, properly, addictive and they’re probably still fighting that urge, even now.
Mish says on the table is one portion for one Jofre. Barf! On the way in Mish was saying she was hungry!
As they’re rowing away Mish offers them a ciggie. Tony says he’s not even tempted, used to be a pack a day smoker but now hasn’t had one in 3 and a half months.
First time in history a whole team could make it to finale.
Working out in a room full of the old food smells was a good reminder for Daniel.
Auvales have got fried chicken. A huge plate of it. It looks so gooood. I could get a couple of days worth of food out of that. Of course Johnee was eating that much for breakfast.
His other big temptation was fizzy drink. It’s an unnamed fizzy drink but I recognise the bottle. It’s Mountain Dew. Which is also really delicious. But bottles and bottles a day is going to ruin you!
Johnee’s still a little tempted, has to have a sniff of it. But when he’s working out he manages to tell Steve he doesn’t want a drink of it. He knows the old Johnee wouldn’t’ve thought twice about putting one of those away. He knows he could go and grab some chicken and eat it if he wanted, but he’s not going to.
Steve picks some up once Johnee is tired and asks him if he’s tempted now, smell good now he’s tired? Look at all the coating on it, Steve says as he rubs the chicken in his hand. Only thing Johnee wants to do with it? He swipes the bowl of chicken out of Steve’s hand and sends it crashing to the ground. Hey, the crew could have had that for lunch!
Johnee realises the food was controlling them, putting all that shit in their bodies was terrible for them. Now they’re learning to take the power back. Johnee’s the one that chooses whether to eat it or not.
And we’re done with the food wasting temptation shenanigans and on to The Game. Boxes and locks and ropes and balance beams and all sorts of things are set up in the sandpit.
Everyone’s very nervous because no matter what the prize is, it’s the last week!
Fiona congratulates them on reaching the final week of the competition. Making it this far doesn’t guarantee them a spot at the finale though. This will be the most difficult and demanding week so far, beginning right now with the final game.
Fiona says the prize today is exactly what they need and want in the final week. And she’s not going to hide it this time, she tells them straight up it’s the power to send someone home. The same way Cliff went home last time. Sam’s determined to win and stick it to the Jofres at last!
There’s three rounds, two people get knocked out each round, until they’re left with one winner.
First task, they will be literally tied up and will have to set themself free, like the mission they’ve been on the whole time. Bit weird, but okay.
Second round will be maintaining nutritional balance. Cross a balance beam, collect a plate, put the plate of food on the correct calorie number.
Final round is building yourselves up, without coming crashing down. Use your brain to build a tower of “cards”. 2.5 metre of block things. First to build one, wins.
Time to play the game. The Jofres are obviously hoping to get three through to the final round to avoid facing elimination at all.
Round one, fight! They’re tied with rope and also padlocked into wrist and ankle cuffs. Lots of tricksy knots going through padlocks and pipes and other bits of rope.
And surprisingly it’s Johnee to free himself first! Well done Johnee. Rob seems to be second. Daniel third. Tony’s struggling but is getting help from both sides from Rob and Daniel. The pressure is building. And Tony’s starting to get frustrated with his “assistants”!
Sam needs to stop watching Tony struggling with his ropes and focus on getting herself free, silly. Tenealle’s got the right idea and is motoring ahead, finishing with what looks like a knot in her rope but Johnee says it’s not and it seems to be good enough for the judges as she’s up on her box.
Tony, Pablo and Sam are fighting it out for the last spot… but Tony’s got it done at last. Pablo and Sam are out of the game.
One Jofre down, Tenealle says. So they’re happy.
The plates of food are 150g hot chips, 175g meat pie, 65g bread roll, 200g steak, slice of carrot cake (weight obscured), 300g grapes. Calorie counts are 160, 204, 324, 369, 472, 506. How well do you know your calories?
Everyone wants to win, nobody wants to get eliminated at this stage.
They’re checking each item as they put them down this time, rather than buggering about with swapping things around. Tony gets his chips done first, 369 calories. Johnee puts a bread roll on 160 calories, also correct. The carrot cake is 175g and NOT 472 calories, much to Daniel’s chagrin.
Rob’s struggling with the balance beam but Johnee’s finding the going easy because he’s “got good hips”, he tells us with a wiggle.
Tenealle was doing well, right up until she stacks it on a return trip. Oops! She’s fine though. Gets back on and does it properly this time.
Daniel’s hoping to catch up, despite getting a couple wrong. Tony and Johnee are way out in front. Rob’s struggling with the balance beam more than the calorie counts. He fails trying to carry the steak at least three times we see.
Tony and Johnee are both on their final plate, which makes the “guess” pretty easy this time. Tony wins round two, followed by Johnee. One spot remaining. Tenealle gets a plate wrong which means Daniel can’t catch up to her… except Tenealle takes a wrong step on the very end of the final crossing and falls down hard on her hip. That looked pretty painful. Can she get back up and does she have to redo the crossing or did she make it off the end? She didn’t land on the beam after all…
After an ad break we’re watching replayed footage, even though it is now 8.32pm!
Tenealle stacks it again, but she hasn’t hurt herself so she gets back to the start and heads across the beam again and manages to finish up before Daniel can get his final plate across. Daniel and Rob are both out. Leaving two Auvales versus Tony.
Build a two and a half metre tall tower of cards. They have ladders to climb to get up higher. Luckily for shorty Tenealle.
Contestants, ready? NO, says Johnee. Who wanders over to give Tenealle a kiss good luck. Hah!
Ready now? Good, go, build!
Tenealle’s building a double wide house, which should be strong. Tony’s trying to build a different way, first with vertical cards which is unstable, then trying some other weird idea. His family is calling out “help” but Tony’s not listening. Tony’s hands are starting to shake, he says. He doesn’t want to lose to the Auvales because he knows a Jofre will be sent home.
Tony finally has a look at what the other two are doing. Is it too late? He’s doing boxes now, which might get it done. But he probably still needs the other towers to fall over to stand a chance.
Tenealle’s powering ahead of Johnee. Everyone thinks Tenealle’s going to win from here, but it gets harder the higher you go. It’s making Johnee get complacent, Daniel notices, he’s not putting in the effort he should. So long as Tenealle gets finished it’ll be fine…
Tenealle’s getting shaky as she gets higher and higher on the ladder. And then there must have been a slight bit of wind as Tenealle’s tower starts to lean. She manages to catch it before the whole thing goes down, but she loses a few storeys off her tower, meaning Tony is not so far behind anymore…
Tomorrow night, who’ll finish their tower? Will anyone finish it or will they all fall over and split their heads open in a catastrophic finish?
Yeah, probably Tony or Tenealle will just finish their tower. But you never know.
