TBL 10×34 – Super Duper Challenge And Duper Super Weigh In!

Previously on The Biggest Loser the Super Duper Iron Man Or Woman Or Whatever Second Chance Challenge Thingy kicked off. Three places back in the competition are up for grabs and, as usual, a Jofre is in the lead.

When we left them on Tuesday night Tony’s crossed the finish line first and is trying to pick which plate of food has the lowest number of calories. Or is at least in the bottom three, so he can get back into the house.

In a surprise twist, Ali’s in second place after an incredibly strong performance in the kayaking leg. Could she be a surprise return to the house? Maybe she can redeem herself this time?

But as the episode starts we’re with Tony trying to pick the lowest calorie plate. Tony admits his weakness is his brain. He’s got a good lead over the other contestants so he’s got time to try and work out which one could be it. He’s ruled out the avocado and “pasta” and is trying to pick between milk, peanuts and chocolate. It’s only a cup of milk and only a half dozen squares of chocolate, so it’s not huge amounts. He’d be fine with eating any of them, burn them off in no time. But that’s not the point.

Tony eventually opts for the chocolate as Ali rushes in behind him. Ali’s gone for the peanuts, which I’m pretty sure won’t be right? They’re quite calorific, aren’t they? Anyway, Ali is there for Tilly. She reminds us for the umpteenth time.

Sam’s in third place and has the milk, avocado, tin of spaghetti or some salmon. After fussing and dithering a while and telling us she really wants to be back in she opts for the milk.

Kayla turns up next. She doesn’t even get a chance to celebrate her win as she’s got to pick a food pretty quickly as Moses and Cliff are both running up the beach. Cliff’s ahead of Moses and he falls to one knee in front of the plates, he’s exhausted. Moses comes along as Cliff is trying to decide. He picks the spaghetti over the salmon as Moses pats him on the shoulders. That leaves Moses with the salmon. He’s still hopeful though!

Now to see who else can finish the race! Sylvia manages to get there in seventh place and is ecstatic just to finish. Everyone gives her hugs and congratulates her. Mel follows some time behind, then Jodie and even Rina manages to get through it! Well done everyone.

We don’t see Terry finish though. Did he not finish? Did I miss it?

Anyway, they’re the losers. Who’s actually getting back in out of the ones who got plates?

The lowest calorie food is… the milk! Sam’s through and she’s very excited! Lots of hugs and excitement from the Hailwoods. Sam looks like she might pass out.

Next Fiona will announce the highest calorie food. 400 calories… in the salmon! Too bad Moses. At least nobody chose the highest one this year!

Next, 326 calories, second highest, is the avocado. Tony had done the math on that and estimated wrong, but was right in that it was much too high!

Second lowest calorie food is announced next. 231 calories, spaghetti! Cliff’s back in, oh my god! Second last across the line and second place.

Tony and Ali are the only ones left. Unsalted peanuts versus milk chocolate. First and second across the line, too. One is 267 calories, the other is 292 calories.

267 calorie food is… the chocolate, of course! Thank heavens, could not have stood Ali being back in. Ali’s fuming of course, bloody Jofres and stuff. Ali says it was hard knowing it came down to the calories, if it’d just been the race she would have been in. Yeah but you came in second and picked the third highest calorie food, soooo…

Ali says she’s going to smash it at home and she’ll look “sexy” at finale. Okay. We’ll see!

Sam, Cliff and Tony are back in the house. And maybe one of them could win the whole thing, Fiona says.

Well, Tony might. Be realistic.

Fiona reminds the eliminated contestants there’s still a prize up for grabs for them, if they’ve lost the most weight at the finale. Now, time to put your black shirts back on and head back to Camp Biggest Loser!

The remaining contestants are all training when the returnees come back. Tiff’s excited to see Sam come in through the door. And also really excited to see Cliff! Rob’s getting worried since Tony hasn’t showed up yet. But then he pops out with a roar and the Jofres are all super relieved.

Johnee’s not excited. Moses isn’t coming back. Boohoo. Get over it dude!

Johnee thinks the game might change now that some of the evicted people have come back. The alliance might not be holding up any further. Two Hailwoods and two Auvales.

Poor Shannan didn’t get a person back. Shannan is surprised Ali didn’t come back. Hasn’t he been watching the show?

Anyway, they tell him what the challenge was and the calories thingy. Ali came in second and chose the peanuts, which is disappointing to Shannan because nuts aren’t on his meal plans. Not because they’re bad for you, they’re just high in calories. So Ali should have known!

Shannan’s sad he doesn’t have a blue team member in the finale for the first time ever. Awww! He’s wishing them all well and congratulating them on their efforts. He even says see ya at finale to Michelle and they have a hug. Guess they’ve made up? Good!

Tony’s still excited! He’s back with his family and they’ve got a chance at being the final four at finale once again.

They’re chatting strategy in the kitchen. They don’t want another bad week like last week! Then they’re wondering who the Hailwoods might align themselves with. They don’t think they’d approach the Auvales, they’re more likely to approach the Jofres. They’re the strong team now. But they’re not really thinking about allying with anyone, just thinking of themselves now.

And then, surprisingly, Tenealle and Johnee come up for a chat with Sam and Cliff. Sam is sick of the Jofres. She knows they work hard but they have too much power now. Johnee doesn’t want the Jofres to all make it to finale. They all seem to be on the same page, they know if the Jofres get a chance it’ll be them going home, not a Jofre.

So they’ve all got each others backs. No more Jofales, Johnee tells us. It’s the Hai-vales now!

Training time! Michelle’s still really excited to have Tony back. Bouncing off the walls just about.

Tony put on weight at the last weigh in, which is not good. Then he was eliminated. But that weight gain should also give him a better loss this week, right Mish?

Michelle is so excited, she’s making this workout a dedication to the family reunion. It’s a 2 minute family reunion circuit. Okay!

Looks pretty intense and the boys are feeling it.

Then, ducks on a pond! Not sure why.

Johnee and Tenealle are doing rowing machines when we catch up to them. Steve says the worry is that there’s eight contestants again now, so what’s the plan? Johnee tells Commando straight up that they’ve allied with the Hailwoods. They think it’d be stupid to go 4 against 2. And Johnee’s always honest with his trainer, but he’s worried that Steve will reveal the secret alliance to Michelle, who’ll then tell the Jofres. Shannan was right, things happen, Johnee thinks. Steve tells us from his point of view the alliances and shit don’t matter, what matters is the training!

Cliff and Sam are back training with Tiffiny. Tiffiny’s so excited! And they have an advantage, being a couple. They don’t know what it’s like to be healthy with each other, Sam says. They were overweight from the start of their relationship and food was all they had in common, then food and their daughter. But at Camp they’ve come together and are loving each other more now.

Tiff doesn’t want them to only be back for a couple of hours and that’s whn Cliff tells her Johnee and Tenealle have already approached them for a new alliance. Tiff is surprised but also says she doesn’t care, hard work and getting above the yellow line are what matters. Damn straight!

Time for the weigh in. Hi Fiona! She’s in blue again, even though there’s no more blue team. Awww!

Get above the yellow line today and you guarantee your spot in the house for the final week of the competition. Final week?! How many eliminations are there going to be this week?

Pablo Previous: 117.9kg
Pablo Now: 115.5kg
Pablo Loss: 2.4kg
Pablo Percentage: 2.04%

Pablo’s pleased, but he knows there’s seven more people still to weigh in…

Pablo’s looking a lot more confident, Fiona notes, what’s going on? He was a bit shy and now he’s more outspoken and ready to fight. He wants to be there and he thinks he can go all the way. Mish says she’s beaming, results like that are why she does the job. Probably also the money and publicity…

Tenealle Previous: 107kg
Tenealle Now: 105.5kg
Tenealle Loss: 1.5kg
Tenealle Percentage: 1.4%

Daniel Previous: 95.6kg
Daniel Now: 94.2kg
Daniel Loss: 1.4kg
Daniel Percentage: 1.46%

Pablo’s officially safe! We’re rushing through tonight!

Rob’s feeling positive this week, despite falling below the line last week.

Rob Previous: 113.7kg
Rob Now: 112.3kg
Rob Loss: 1.4kg
Rob Percentage: 1.23%

Daniel is now safe from elimination as well. Rob’s worried it won’t be enough to keep him safe. Nobody thinks it’s a good enough percentage to keep him safe.

Sam Previous: 90.4kg
Sam Now: 90.2kg
Sam Loss: 0.2kg
Sam Percentage: 0.22%

That is PATHETIC. She should have lost more than that on diet alone, nevermind the epic iron man race she’s done!

She’s in tears, she thought she’d lose a couple of kilos, she could be going straight back home. Cliff doesn’t understand how Sam can only have lost that much, but they’re all proud of her. Sam’s not giving up though, Tiff tells her it’s about the rest of her life, not just the right now bit.

Still three people to weigh in, including Cliff. Imagine if they’re both below the line!

Johnee Previous: 173.7kg
Johnee Now: 169.4kg
Johnee Loss: 4.3kg
Johnee Percentage: 2.48%

Good loss for Johnee, he’s safe and may even be the biggest loser. Cliff’s next though.

Cliff Previous: 155.4kg
Cliff Now: 153.6kg
Cliff Loss: 1.8kg
Cliff Percentage: 1.16%

So now he’s in danger of being below the line with Sam. Big surprise, they’re still pulling poor numbers.

Tony’s got to lose at least 1.2kg. Given he put on about that much last week this should be a walk in the park, right?

Tony Previous: 95.9kg
Tony Now: 92.4kg
Tony Loss: 3.5kg
Tony Percentage: 3.65%

Biggest Loser of the week goes to Tony. No big surprise, effectively water loaded last week and did a super challenge and came in first.

Cliff and Sam are below the line, meaning Cliff is likely going straight back home as he’s the bigger threat. Theoretically, anyway. Cliff’s never pulled big numbers while Sam is actually getting pretty fit now.

Guess we’ll see how it plays out tomorrow night in the elimination room. Will Sam sacrifice herself for Cliff? Can she even convince the others to play ball?

Mr Voiceover Man asks us what we’d do if our partner was up for elimination with us. Gearing up to announce next season’s entries are now open?
