TBL 10×32 – Tony v Rob Elimination. Tense.
Previously on The Biggest Loser two of the Jofres put on weight at the weekly weigh in. Two! Tony and Rob. Now they face elimination together. With two Jofres voting and two Auvales neither can be too sure they’re safe. Will the Jofre boys save their brother or uncle? Will the Auvales want to send the brother or uncle home?
And then, from deep down the river, drumming. They are coming…
The eliminated contestants, not filthy orcses. They’re back for their second chance. You’d have to pick either Tony or Rob as favourite to win their way back into the house, right? Some of the contestants have worked hard on the outside though. Maybe a Moses or Sam could fight back?
We’ll see. First, elimination room time. Going to be rough going on the Jofres. None of the other teams have really had to do this before, vote out one of their own.
Rob wants to stay, he needs to lose more weight, but so does Tony. And he doesn’t want his nephew to leave either.
Tony says it sucks that the four of them won’t make it to finale together. But there’s always a chance, Tony!
Fiona in a pretty red dress asks Pablo how it feels to see two family members up the other end. Pablo’s disappointed in the way they got there, putting on weight after working so hard.
Fiona asks Rob if he’s prepared to fight for his place in the competition. He says it’s been a great experience and wouldn’t trade a minute of it. But he’s prepared to leave tonight. He thought he’d have to be the rock for the nephews but they’ve been his rock. He’d rather Tony stay and push on the finish line, the three nephews together. He’d like the others to send him home.
Rob’s like that, Tony says. But a big part of the reason they came on the show was to get their uncle Rob healthy again, for his family. He can’t go home, Tony’s lost the weight, Rob needs to stay and make his family proud.
Pablo says he’s proud to be a Jofre, they’re proud no matter what, and they love their family so much they’re prepared to give up their own positions.
Daniel says it’s hard, but it’s got to be done.
Rob’s got nothing more to say, it’s up to the voters now.
Four voters mean it could be a hung vote. Lowest percentage this week is Tony, who’ll go home in the event of a tie.
Tenealle’s got the first vote, followed by Pablo, Johnee and Daniel last. Interesting split!
Tenealle says it’s a tough decision, they’re both like family to her. But she’s got to think of her own journey ahead, who she would rather go against in challenges, etc. She’s had to vote for Tony. She says sorry though!
One more vote will send Tony home.
Pablo says his vote will be the decider, but he’s said he’d never write down one of his family’s names. So he’s written “my brother” instead. Tony smiles and nods.
Tony says life on the outside looks very different for him now. He’ll train every day and hopefully get some of the rest of his family into training as well, spread the knowledge to those who want it.
Rob says it’s going to be hard going on, but it’s just another challenge and the Jofres are good at those.
Tony, you are not the biggest loser, goodbye! For, like, a night or two, tops.
Tony tells us the thing he’ll miss most is all the challenges and things he never would have done without coming on the show. He’s reached all his goals, bar getting all four of them into finale. But that doesn’t matter, it’s nothing compared to the healthier lives they’re living now.
Next morning Michelle and Steve have the five remaining contestants training riverside on a rainy morning.
Mish knows the elimination would have been hardest on Pablo. Pablo relays his decision and Mish’s heart breaks again. Aww.
Business as usual today, Rob says. They’ve had the night to be sad, back to training.
Mish says the final five are a good bunch, they’ve been tested and worked hard. Steve tells us they’re all strong individuals, even if they don’t believe it yet.
Squats, then pushups, go!
Mish says the Jofres wanted to be the best team the show had ever seen and they’ve gotten pretty close, she thinks.
Rob’s strong and steady, definitely a contender for winning the whole thing. Daniel’s a young, strong and increasingly fit guy. So he wants to win as well. Pablo’s put in the work too and his confidence is rising week by week. She’s confident the three of them can go the rest of the way.
Steve says Johnee and Tenealle have come a long way in their journey. They want to be parents, but they’ve struggled to get any of their own. Tenealle’s great with kids, apparently, and Johnee dreams of filling the house with his own babies.
They’re poised to take out the title too, Steve says. But on Biggest Loser you never know what’s coming next.
Then, in the distance, the sound of a drum beating. Everyone can see the boat full of returning contestants shortly after. Shannan’s beating out the rhythm for the contestants paddling while Tiff sits calmly in front and an oarsman keeps them on track.
Cliff and Tony are side by side, that’s going to be a fun match up!
Shannan and Tiff are talking up everyone’s chances. They’re hoping they’ve all come back ready and fired up for their second chance.
Mish knows that every year the eliminated contestants get another chance and she’s a fan. Because those left in the house have to really prove they want it more than anyone else.
They’re baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
Ali’s back to get revenge and prove she’s fit. She’d be a rank outsider though, since she barely put in the work while she was at Camp!
Lots of very serious staring going on. Shannan says they’ve been doing the hard yards on the outside and now they’re ready to fight for their second chance. Tiff says the show is all about second chances.
Mish says they’ve been doing the hard yards at Camp, would Johnee like to welcome them back? Johnee busts out a haka. Sam tells us she’s not scared by a few dance moves.
Then Rina steps forward from the ranks of the returnees and leads THEM in a haka. And the two trainers. Just a bit scarier! Moses tells us he’s never seen Rina do a haka in his life, it fired them up a lot.
Back at Camp Johnee’s talking about how they don’t deserve a second chance. They got voted out!
Fiona tells them that a whopping THREE contestants will be coming back into the competition. That’s quite a shock to everyone, as most people would expect one or maybe two. That’ll bring them back up to 8 and I guess lead to a trip somewhere special after the next elimination? Maybe?
Everyone’s been training hard on the outside and they’re champing at the bit to get back in there.
But of course the first step to getting back into the competition is weighing back in again. Their weightloss to date will be tallied up to see where everyone stands and they’re going in reverse eliminated order.
Tony Start: 130.3kg
Tony Now: 95.9kg
Tony Loss: 34.4kg
Tony Percentage: 26.4%
There’s been people who haven’t lost that much by finale. So he’s done pretty well. He says he feels good, he’s worked hard since day one. He says he’d always give 100%, but then chokes up and can’t go on. What’s going on, Tony? Or are you just playing for time so we have to go to an ad break?
Tony says that being by himself for the first time in a while yesterday he started thinking about opportunities in life and how it goes by just like that. He could’ve gone to the shops and eaten crap or had a beer, but he felt like crap for not training. Something clicked for him. Mish says if the elimination gave him that then it’s just what he needed. He tells Fiona he has what it takes to win. He’s against his family and friends, but he’s going to do it for himself.
Mel Start: 155.6kg
Mel Now: 124.8kg
Mel Loss: 30.8kg
Mel Percentage: 19.79%
Not too shabby! She’s happy with that. She says she knows she’s in charge of herself, has to stick by her own rules. No more “barbarian cheesecakes”, Shannan asks? Definitely not. Mel really wants to get back in, she didn’t want to leave in the first place!
Cliff Start: 191kg
Cliff Now: 155.4kg
Cliff Loss: 35.6kg
Cliff Percentage: 18.64%
So far the reverse order is also the scoreboard order. Cliff knows it could have been better, he wasted a number of weeks in the house and he knows it. He’s ready to come back and work hard now though.
Moses Start: 122kg
Moses Now: 97.3kg
Moses Loss: 24.7kg
Moses Percentage: 20.25%
Moses is very happy with his result. Fiona says Moses is looking extremely fit and Moses says sorry, he’s already married. Fiona bursts into laughter and has to turn away for a moment as the others all giggle as well.
Jodie Start: 159kg
Jodie Now: 128.2kg
Jodie Loss: 30.8kg
Jodie Percentage: 19.37%
She’s pretty happy with that, it was more weight than she’d thought she’d lost. Jodie went home and was mostly just home by herself while her fiance went to work. Her new fiance, since he proposed at makeover if you’ve forgotten already. Ali says she’s under 130kg, she should be proud. Encouragements? What?
Sam Start: 109.3kg
Sam Now: 90.4kg
Sam Loss: 18.9kg
Sam Percentage: 17.29%
Sam says she’s ready to smash whatever is thrown at them.
Sylvia Start: 141.7kg
Sylvia Now: 118.4kg
Sylvia Loss: 23.3kg
Sylvia Percentage: 16.44%
She’s quite shocked. Do they not weigh themselves on the outside?!
Ali’s next. She’s already talking about getting revenge on the other teams and trying to plot with her family and so on. So she’s learned nothing. LOSE THE FUCKING WEIGHT. THE REST DOESN’T MATTER. Ugh.
Ali Start: 130.2kg
Ali Now: 105kg
Ali Loss: 25.2kg
Ali Percentage: 19.35%
Less than both her sisters. She says she’s done it on the outside, just like she said she would. Now it’s time to come back and win. Mish asks her how much she’s lost on the outside and she says 14kg in the five weeks, which impresses Michelle.
Tilly, Ali’s daughter, barely recognised her when she returned, apparently.
Kayla Start: 110.5kg
Kayla Now: 89.3kg
Kayla Loss: 21.2kg
Kayla Percentage: 19.19%
First contestant into the 80s! She had low self esteem before coming on the show. She’s feeling more “24” now, happier and healthier. Losing 21kg has made a huge difference, she says.
Rina Start: 155.8kg
Rina Now: 132.5kg
Rina Loss: 23.3kg
Rina Percentage: 14.96%
A moment of confusion as she thinks it’s not even that much. She says she’s got a lot more energy and is feeling her husband’s lurve. Moses has got guns now though. “And yeah, they fire!” Ewwwww!
Commando Steve says he must be the love doctor now.
Terry Start: 116.1kg
Terry Now: 92.6kg
Terry Loss: 23.5kg
Terry Percentage: 20.24%
Not bad for the first guy out the door! Especially an older gentleman. He’s third on the leaderboard. He says it’s been hard work. Shannan thinks everyone underestimated him but now they’re seeing the hard work.
So of the eliminated contestants Tony is the biggest loser, unsurprisingly.
At the end of the week the eliminated contestants will battle it out in a super challenge. That challenge will determine which three will be coming back into the game. So no mucking about with other challenges this year? Interesting.
Shannan knows the super challenges are often epic in scope and a tough challenge, he hopes they understand what they’re in for.
After the weigh in the Hailwoods are having a chat about what the super challenge could be. They know it won’t be something easy.
They think they might be in with a chance against Tony if there’s questions to answer. He hasn’t gone one right all season. He can run but he can’t think, apparently.
Tony’s been missed by his family, even though it’s only been one night. He’s hoping he can come straight back in. But who does Tony think will be a threat? Tony thinks Ali might have the determination.
Yeah, maybe Tony, but she doesn’t have the willpower or fitness!
Tony also says that if he gets back in and Moses gets back in… the Jofale alliance is back on again!
The Auvales come in at that point so they sit down for a chat. Rina thinks maybe Sam might be a threat, but the Jofres don’t really think so.
Johnee tells us Ali’s gunning for the Jofres so it won’t be a good atmosphere in the house if she does get back in.
Johnee doesn’t think much of Terry’s chances. The others think he might be a bit fitter since he’s lost a good number. No way he’ll be fitter than the Hailwoods, Johnee thinks.
Terry says nobody in the house knows how fit he is, his family doesn’t even really know. Dark horse!
Ali says she’s going to go as hard as she can but Tony’s the biggest threat, he’s properly fit. Terry thinks the Hailwoods will be able to run well but Ali reckons she can run better than them.
Ali’s really talking up her chances. Jodie’s looking on dubiously. She’s seen how hard many of the others have been working out, more so than Ali. Maybe they’re no longer joined at the hip?
Tomorrow night the eliminated contestants get back into the swing of things with training at Camp. And it looks like Jodie might walk out on training AGAIN? Wow.
Also, never before seen audition tapes bring lots of shocks to the contestants.
And then… The Super Challenge. It’s an iron man race. Running up sand dunes, pedalling on spinbikes (not real bikes?) running down the beach, paddling a kayak? Not sure this is an iron man race, looks a lot tougher than that!
