TBL 10×30 – You Get A Makeover! You Get A Makeover! Everybody Gets A Makeover!

Previously on The Biggest Loser poor Mel was sent home at elimination, primarily due to the all conquering Jofale alliance.

But more excitingly, Fiona announced it’s finally makeover time! The most visually interesting episode that translates the least well into a wordy recap.

This year we get makeovers of the eliminated contestants as well, which is a really nice change. Sometimes contestants would be wiped out just before makeover week when we all really, really wanted to see them get one.

Rob’s pretty happy with his look, time to check in with some of the others. Tony’s getting a lot of his hair trimmed and styled. Maybe a bit of colour in it? Still has the beard so far though.

Tony can feel the change in himself. He used to be a personal trainer as well, has a cabinet full of trophies for various sports. Mish is pleased to see that side of him coming back out.

And we’re back to Michelle shaving off Daniel’s beard at last. Daniel says his beard is his friend, they’ve been through a lot together. He’s hoping it looks better under there, now he’s fitter.

The stylist gives him a proper shave, not just the clippers. It’s a huge change. He’s barely recognisable. He says he looked like a caveman before, now he looks like a gentleman. He feels like he can keep going now, having seen the big change in himself. He likes it and Mish says she knew he would.

Tenealle’s turn. They’ve lightened up some of her hair at the front, but it’s not overdone. Just a light honeyed colour. She says Johnee’s going to freak out.

The makeup looks hideous though. Way too much eye makeup and foundation all over. I don’t like it. She looks tons better without all the goop. Or at least with a lot less in the side bits to camera.

Pablo! He’s getting his hair up top trimmed. Still has the big bushy beard. Pablo was pretty much living in his bedroom when Mish first met him, he was a recluse. Pablo knows things have got to change. He can’t be looking this good and be staying at home. Mish loves that he thinks he’s looking good.

Johnee! His hair is spiked up and styled up. Face shaved. He looks quite a bit younger. But he’s not happy, he’s not thrilled with what he can see in the mirror. Steve thinks he’s a bit taken aback. Johnee admits he’s not at the weight he was hoping to be by makeover. The others all have a much more noticeable change, but he thinks now he can see himself getting to that point down the road. Steve thinks it’s important he realises that he’s got a ways to go, but also that he’s made great progress so far. He’s lost over 40kg so far.

And now it’s time for the second half of the makeover. They’ve all been stuck in Biggest Loser garb for months, so Kirsten Butler (?) is going to style them now. She’s done a bunch of contestants in previous years, she says. She has some sweet socks for Johnee, red/white/black camo print, I want some! Johnee tells her they look like something Commando Steve would wear.

Rob used to be in a 5-6XL shirt before coming on the show and now he’s down to a 2XL. Mish tells us it’s a really important landmark for people to realise they’ve actually made amazing changes.

Daniel’s in a shirt and shorts, very casual. Tenealle’s very dressed up in a pretty black dress. They’ve not seen themselves in a full length mirror yet, that comes next.

Fiona’s at the catwalk to welcome the trainers. Shannan and Tiffiny are back as well, even though they don’t have any contestants left. This is said to be so they can see the changes too, but it’s also because some of their contestants are getting makeovers too!

Pablo’s the first one to walk out on stage. Flashback to him saying he’d like to move out of home, start a family and so on. His Mum would be proud of him no matter what, but he’s happy to be on track to making her happier. He wants to make his family proud. Aww!

Pablo’s beard isn’t shaved down as close as Daniel’s. He’s still pretty fat in the face but his body isn’t really that out of the ordinary anymore. He’s a big guy, but you wouldn’t know how much bigger he was just a few weeks ago.

He’s in a red and blue plaid shirt and blue jeans. He says his Mum will be happy to see him looking like this.

Mish pulls down the curtain over the mirror and reveals Pablo to himself. “Far out!” Tiff laughs. Pablo says that as good as that looks, he can hardly imagine how much better it’ll be with another 20kg off. Will his Mum like it? Of course! His Mum is coming up behind him and Mish and yeah, she’s got tears in her eyes and is really happy.

Pablo’s Mum asks who is responsible and Pablo says Mish. Mish says Mum gave her Pablo and she’s raised some good boys. Aww.

Johnee’s turn next. Steve’s excited to see Johnee’s makeover and for Johnee to see how good he looks for himself. He was concerned in the salon but Steve is hopeful he’ll feel better about it once he’s got some new clothes on.

Johnee comes on and is doing some moonwalking and showboating. What happened to the sore achilles? It’s magically healed, Johnee says.

Steve tells him they’ve not had many contestants his size stay in the competition for this long. He’s made great progress, Steve insists. Mish agrees, says he looks fantastic.

Johnee sees himself in the mirror and says he looks so young now. Mish says he looks like his brother and Johnee gives her a bit of side-eye at that. The better looking version, Johnee suggests.

Johnee’s missed his family in recent weeks. Moses was his only link to family on the outside so it was hard when he left. Johnee’s Mum is there to check him out. She tells him he looks great. She also tells him his younger brother has lost a whopping 20kg. The whole family has been in on the journey, which is a huge relief to Johnee. He was so worried about his family pulling him back into bad habits but he’s actually become a leader, Steve says.

Time for Daniel to strut! And he looks goooood. Light blue shirt, dark blue pants, some sockless boatshoes, hair slicked back. Shannan says he had a really respectable beard for a 24 year old but he looks so much better without it. Fiona agrees. Shannan says he’d barely even recognise him, if they hadn’t said it was him.

Daniel’s Dad is there to give him a huge hug and then he asks if he can go on the program too. The trainers and Fiona all have a laugh. His Dad was expecting changes but nothing so dramatic as this. His Dad is clearly very proud of his boy. Aww!

Tenealle’s turn. Last lady standing. She’s always wanted to have a baby, be a Mum, be beautiful for her husband.

She’s ended up not in the black dress, she’s in a pretty blue dress instead. The hair is a bit lighter than it looked in the salon. The makeup is still bloody awful though!

She looks happier, says she looks smaller in the mirror. Feels good!

Tenealle misses her family, the non-Auvale parts of her family. Her Mum is there to do the hug thing. Her Mum is big too, so it’s not just the Auvale side that’s contributed I guess! Her Mum says Tenealle’s always been beautiful to her, but it’s good to see what she’s done for herself. She’s so proud. Aww!

Rob from the Jofres! He looks quite dapper. Nice jacket, checked shirt, bowtie and pocket kerchief. Brown pants. Nice. Not sure it all really works together but he seems happy. He’s lost about 45kg and it’s all baggage he didn’t need, Mish says. That Rob is gone, Rob tells us.

His partner has never seen him at this weight, he was a bit heavier when they met and it was all up from there.

They wanted Emma, his partner, to be there for makeover but she’s about ready to pop with their second baby so she can’t really be flying around right now. But Mish has an ipad set up to Facetime them! His daughter still recognises him. It’s her third birthday tomorrow, apparently, so Rob’s sad not to be there for that. But he knows this will ensure he’s there for a lot more birthdays to come.

Tony! Mish recalls the guy she met at first, eating ice cream for breakfast and having a cigarette afterwards.

Tony looks amazing. In a smart business suit, with a stylish coif. Commando Steve says you’d never know he was ever a contestant on the show. He really does look amazing. More like a potential bachelor or bachelorette contestant than a Biggest Loser guy.

Shannan says he could bypass personal training and go straight into modelling from here.

Tony’s Mum and Dad come in to see him and then the other boys walk in and blow their minds. Tony’s shocked by the change in Daniel. No more caveman!

After an ad break Fiona has them all standing in a group together with the trainers. They all look great, she says. It’s been a huge success, this night. But there’s one more surprise for them.

Or should she say, 10 more surprises! The six of them weren’t the only ones to get a makeover today, some of the others did too. They’re here for one night only, no competition tonight, just having some fun with pretty clothes and fancy hair. Aww!

Kayla’s first to come out. She was fierce and fit and fun, Tiff says, so she’s excited to see how she’s gone.

Kayla’s in a pretty green dress with flaming red hair. She looks pretty great, it must be said. She even has a waist, Tiff notices. Tiff tells us she has a health halo.

In the mirror the first thing Kayla notices is the hair. She feels amazing, she tells Tiff. It’s good to have a real smile on her face for a change.

Next up, Mel. Mel had also locked herself away from the world, Shannan says. She’s got her hair styled up nice and is in a blue dress with a black jacket over the top. She looks pretty good. Everyone’s very happy to see her again, especially looking so happy.

Mel’s a bit gobsmacked at her reflection. She notices she’s smaller now, feels beautiful. Shannan tells her to give a little wave to her dance partner, blow him a kiss maybe. Lots of giggling! Shannan gives her a big hug, aww.

Next up, Jodie. She doesn’t want Anthony, her boyfriend, to propose while she’s still so overweight.

She’s definitely not so big anymore! She has a nice flowery dress on and got a nice short bob.

Anthony loves the changes, she tells Shannan. And Anthony’s there behind her. He’s never seen her this glam, Jodie says. She looks beautiful.

Shannan thinks he’s just there to admire his girlfriend but he’s looking a bit nervous. Anthony says he loves her, they’ve been together for four years, best four years of his life. The light goes on above Mish’s head first. Anthony gets down on one knee and asks Jodie if she’ll marry him. AWWWWW!

Sunday night, find out if she says yes! She’s going to say yes, right? Surely?

Also, more eliminated contestant makeovers. And training. And then somebody’s birthday is going to lead to some overindulgence on cake and jelly. And it looks like maybe Johnee might have ensured it’s as damaging as possible to the Jofres…

Oh dear. Is this going to be Topping-Gate all over again? Tune in next time, same bat time, same bat channel!
