TBL 10×24 – The Game Takes A Nasty Twist!
Previously on The Biggest Loser we saw Jodie sent home at elimination as surprisingly Johnee escaped elimination yet again.
Tonight the rest of the Game. The Jofres have started to pile weight on each other to give Mel a break, but one of them will probably still win.
Moses’ heart problems continue with more tests being run and him looking pretty sickly. Will he have to quit the competition for health reasons?
And the winner of The Game gets to send one person to weigh in early, maybe? Mr Voiceover Man is teasing us with an early weigh in for one person.
But now, back to The Game. Tony, how many calories in a cup of black coffee? 1, 7 or 10? 1, correct, more weight on Mel.
Mel’s carrying 60kg and Shannan congratulates her as he walks away.
Mel’s asked which contains the least amount of calories, 100g of lemons, oranges or grapefruits. Lemons. Didn’t we see this yesterday? Wait, we did. Johnee gets loaded up and says he doesn’t want to fail before Mel does.
And Mel is finally out! Followed closely by Johnee. When he drops his barrels the water, which is tinted blue for visibility, splashes out and all over Commando Steve. Hah!
It’s down to just the Jofres now, and none of them is going to give up without a fight. Daniel’s asked which is not a sweetener, Xylitol, Lactase or Stevia? Lactase, give some weight to Tony.
Tony, what’s the hardest working muscle in your body, quadriceps, brain or heart? Heart, 10kg more for Daniel.
Pablo, which alcoholic beverage has the most calories, sparkling wine, apple cider or a schooner of beer? Beer is correct, Pablo said cider though.
Daniel, if a 120kg man swam freestyle vigorously for 45 minutes, how many calories would he burn? Daniel immediately guesses B, before Fiona can even read the options. Fiona asks if he wants to guess 850 and he says yes, and it’s right! After loading up Tony he’s guessed his next question as well… and got it right again!
Everyone’s laughing their arse off and applauding. And after a third correct guess even Shannan’s amused.
Tony’s not so amused. He can’t carry anymore and drops his barrels. It’s down to Daniel and Pablo. And Daniel’s guessing streak comes to an end, guessing an average person eats 350 tonnes of food in a lifetime when it’s actually a mere 35 tonne! No wonder we’re all so fat!
Pablo says he’s got a stitch in his side, but he doesn’t want to give up just yet. His question is, at rest does muscle tissue burn more calories than fat? Yes, no, same amount. He guessed no, but it’s true.
But it doesn’t matter as Daniel’s finally caved in and Pablo’s won something all by himself! Pablo, your prize awaits. Nobody else gets to see though, as usual. Piss orf!
And inside the case? He gets to choose someone to weigh in 48 hours early. Yikes! That’s really going to screw someone over. Probably Cliff?
Pablo says he’s competitive, though it’s taken a while to come out. He can see himself now standing on the final podium as the winner.
But for now, it’s a huge power and he might have to be the bad guy, even if he doesn’t really want to.
Meanwhile, in hospital, Moses is having more tests run and filling out more forms. He’s at a cardiologist this time. He’s still not feeling 100%, getting dizzy spells and so on. Still can’t train at Camp but they’ve got him on the treadmill to assess his heart. He says it’s actually a bit harder than the one at Camp because this one keeps going faster. They eventually get him off when he starts to feel pain in his chest. He’s pretty worried, as you can imagine.
Back at Camp it’s time for Pablo to reveal what his power is to the rest of the house. It’s not a good one, it’s a tough decision. He just shows them the card rather than drag it out.
Everyone’s quite shocked by an early weigh in. Cliff’s surprised, didn’t think it would be something so big. He’s expecting it will fall on him.
Pablo tells them straight up he won’t give it to someone of his family. Not Johnee, because he’s not fighting fit right now. Nor Moses, because he couldn’t put the guy through that right now. Nor Tenealle. Just leaves Mel and Cliff.
Mel’s hopeful, because her and Pablo are friends. And Pablo says that because she lost Jodie he can’t give it to her this time. So it’s got to go to Cliff. He says it’s with all respect and he’s sure Cliff can still get it done.
Rob tells us he thinks it’s probably a smart move, given Cliff lost 6kg at the last weigh in. Pablo also knows Cliff had a big plate of pasta. Cliff tells us everyone’s in recovery at the start of the week. He jokes to the others that there won’t be any icecream sandwiches tonight then?
Cliff looks nervous, but he’s not getting angry with Pablo. He’s confident he can do at least 4kg in his shortened week and be above the yellow line again.
He’s there to fight, he tells us, he’s there to give it 100%, not going to pack it in. The other families have doubted him and he’s going to prove them wrong. And everyone seems to be spending more time watching him train than training themselves. Tony thinks he could still pull a big number, but he’d like to see Cliff below the line because it means there’s less chance of a Jofre or Auvale below the line.
Now Moses is back. And apparently he doesn’t have an inflammation of the heart, they’re waiting on one more test but it’s mostly just normal pain and he can go back to normal training. If it does start to hurt he just has to back off for a bit and wait for it to subside.
7 hours till Cliff’s weigh in. He’s working out in sweats while Pablo trains less intensely beside him. Good to see him with a smile on his face instead of angry at everyone. He tells Tiff when her and the trainers arrive that he’s not changing his game plan, he always planned to go harder this week and that’s not changing. Tiff thinks maybe he doesn’t realise how big a disadvantage it will be but Cliff knows, says the shift in his attitude resulted in a great weightloss last week and he thinks he can still pull a good number.
Anyway, time for “inspiration” from an elite athlete. Even trainers get down in the dumps sometimes, Shannan says, and when that happens then Josh is the one to pull him back up.
He used to do extreme snowboarding stunts. One day he did a jump and got it wrong, landing on his neck, crushing his spinal cord and leaving him a quadruplegic.
Except, you know, he isn’t because in walks Josh Wood with just the help of a cane. So he’s impaired, not a full quad. Rob says he thought he was a quad but Josh went against the grain, blah blah. It’s not a matter of personal will, dude. You got lucky and your injury was not as bad as it could have been.
Josh says he couldn’t move his fingers, top medical staff told him he wouldn’t walk again. His Mum though, told him he’d survived this long, don’t give up, keep fighting.
So he set himself the goal of walking again. Which is a big goal, and he needed to hit some small goals first. So he started by trying to move his big toe. LIKE UMA THURMAN IN KILL BILL? Come onnnn.
He tells the contestants he walked out of rehab three and a half months later. And walked down the aisle to get married, and is now expecting a baby.
This is all very relatable to a bunch of fat fucks, of course. But they seem inspired, so good.
Cliff tells us we should never give up, if Josh can spend 3 weeks in a bed wiggling his toe then he can finish this training session, etc.
Time for a Tiff and Cliff training session. Tiff thinks if they bump the training intensity up 20% then it should all be fine. Cliff says there’s no sense pissfarting about, he’s got to work hard.
Tiff’s telling him to wiggle his big toe a lot, which is pushing Cliff after having listened to Josh. Tiff doesn’t want him to go home because he’s her last contestant! He’s doing the spinbike like mad, which pleases Tiff because at the start he couldn’t even stay balanced on a bike!
And now it’s time for Cliff’s weigh in. Fiona’s all in black with two red triangle bits over her hips. Nice!
Anyway, we’re here to see how Cliff goes. Has he been working hard enough. Pablo’s thinking Cliff will get a low number, the bowl of pasta he ate will be with him for a while.
Cliff knows he’s a target but he no longer minds, he just uses it to drive harder.
Cliff Previous: 158.2kg
Cliff Now: 157.8kg
Cliff Loss: 0.4kg
Cliff Percentage: 0.25%
Well. He’s fucked then. Rob thinks maybe something went wrong, because even just doing nothing but eating right he should’ve lost more.
Pablo was expecting a low number but even he’s shocked by just how low it is.
Moses is crowing to us, says that after the week he’s had this is a good chance for him to avoid elimination.
Cliff knows it’s important to stay at Camp for his own health and the good of his family. He’s pretty sure he’ll be going home though. I wouldn’t bet on it, there’s always the possibility of someone losing even less… or even gaining!
Everyone’s pretty confident they can beat Cliff.
After the weigh in the other contestants are having a chat. Tony says he knew it’d be a lower number but he’s surprised. Daniel’s not so surprised since he knew Cliff had a big spaghetti meal.
Tiff rocks up for a chat with Cliff and is horrified by Cliff’s small number. Cliff looks crestfallen and suggests he might go pack his bags now but Tiff’s having none of it, tells him to stay positive. You never know what might happen.
And now it’s time for the weekly challenge. Which I guess is heavily sponsored by and organised with the assistance of the Sage Institute, for which Commando Steve is the poster boy. He’s there with Fiona, along with a bunch of other fit people.
This challenge will be the most physically demanding and competitive so far. Steve says it’s based on the Sage Institute of Fitness. They produce some of the toughest, most experienced and innovative trainers in the country. End plug.
Six knockout rounds, each testing an aspect of speed, strength and endurance. Last one to finish each round will be knocked out. Rounds will continue until only two people are left for the final faceoff.
Due to medical reasons both Johnee and Moses will have to sit out, leaving only Tenealle to represent the Auvales.
Cliff’s confident as he’s done all these things either with Tiff in training or otherwise at Camp.
The winner at this challenge will get a scholarship to study for a Sage fitness diploma. Tony’s very keen on that, he’s done some of the qualifications before but lost the passion for it. It’s come back since he’s been at Camp however.
First round is slamballs. Do 10 slams on each line, last to finish is out.
Tenealle’s keeping up with the boys, but Mel’s falling behind. Cliff looks like he might be behind the Jofres as well, but it’s a long game so he could be pacing himself. Mel’s obviously going to be the first out but she’s determined to finish. She nearly beats Cliff in the end, but that might be in part due to her barely slamming the ball down while Cliff is going a lot harder.
Next round! Boys hold a 10kg medicine ball over their heads, Tenealle has a 6kg ball. First person to drop the ball or bring it below their head is out.
Tony’s struggling after just 30 seconds, he thinks this is probably the one to do him in.
But they all make it to 90 seconds. At the 2 minute mark Tenealle’s ball is getting down very close to her head. And it keeps dropping down a bit on the way to the 3 minute mark. Tony’s looking the most likely to fail first of the boys, but he says it’s his body that will fail him, his mind is fully committed.
Pretty sure Tenealle’s ball just went level with her head so she should be out. But they make it to 4 minutes and keep going. Everyone’s encouraging Tenealle to try and make it to five minutes but she finally drops out at 4mins 49secs.
Next round. Five left. Jofres vs Cliff.
This time they have to sprint to a tire, grab the rope attached to the tire, run to the starting point, pull the tire to the starting point, then run back to where the tire was and back again? Or something like that.
Cliff’s determined to beat Pablo at least, after having got the penalty from him.
Oh, I see, they have to drag the tires back to where they started after getting them to the start line. Back and forth. Cliff’s strong, Tony says, which helps him drag the tires. Cliff knows the sprint bit is his weakness.
Looks like Pablo might be last in this challenge. Cliff’s satisfied he’s beaten Pablo and now he’s going to try and win the round on top of it.
Nobody wants Cliff to win, but it’s looking like… yup, he’s won over all the Jofres. Well done Cliff!
Pablo’s knocked out, but he’s okay with it as he knows he did his best.
Next round, carry a 20kg sandbag to the top of the stairs, come back down and get another. Do it five times, get back down and stand atop your box. Last one to finish is out. Rob’s going to struggle with this as his knees aren’t great, he says.
Cliff tries to throw his sandbag up to the top step but the Sage guy tells him he has to go all the way up to the top. When he gets back down Steve reiterates, all the way to the top. Cliff says that’s his motto!
Hard to tell who’s winning this one with the way it’s edited together. Tony and Daniel are in the lead with Rob just ahead of Cliff. Cliff’s legs are hurting a lot though…
Sunday night, the contestants have lost so much weight in their time at Camp Biggest Loser, but that’s all about to change. SOMEONE IS GOING TO PUT ON WEIGHT!
Well, it can’t be Cliff, he’s already weighed in. Moses seems a likely candidate, but you never know. Any guesses, people?
