TBL 10×17 – Super TBL Families 64 Ultra HD Elimination Edition
Previously on The Biggest Loser Families The Jofres won again at the weekly challenge and then won again again at the weigh in. The White Hailwoods and Black Auvales will face elimination tonight. The Jofres will likely hold all the power there, too.
Tonight, elimination room! Sylvia’s going to get a bit backstabby but it’s not like bitching out her family can save her now, is it?
Later, the weekly Game is some kind of plumbing challenge, which will cause Cliff to lose his shit at some point. It looks like fun, but maybe not in a competitive setting.
But first, elimination room. The Pestells are on the good side of the table for once but they’ve no idea who’s going to come in to face elimination just yet.
We, of course, know it’s going to be Tenealle and Sylvia. They come in shortly after Fiona calls them in. Tony didn’t want to look around because he’d guessed who would be coming in and he was right. They wonder if Sylvia is up because she was pushed or because she volunteered and Sylvia said it was a bit of both. Cliff and Sam think they’ll be stronger without her and the others also figure they wouldn’t split willingly.
Did Sylvia really want to go up though? Not really, she wants to be there to get healthy for her kids. Mel suggests maybe she could have fought with her stubborn family a bit more. Sylvia says they know what Cliff’s like, he’s a difficult person. Rob points out she was more motivated and exercising more than Cliff was but Sylvia says Cliff refused to face elimination. Wasn’t what we heard, but okay.
Sylvia doesn’t think her family would be too upset not to see her back. Her and Sam weren’t as close as Sam and Kayla were, but she thought they were getting a bit closer. She told Sam to at least cry a little bit if she doesn’t come back so it doesn’t look too bad. She wants someone to cry over her, be worth crying over, but she doesn’t think they will. Pablo tells her she is worth it, she’s a good woman. It’s not right they’d have to fake the tears. Tony asks Sylvia if she thinks Sam and Cliff are fake people and she says yes, sometimes. Tony agrees, says it seems like that in the house sometimes.
Tenealle doesn’t want to go home either, but she didn’t think it was fair to have Moses face another elimination and she couldn’t possibly let Johnee go up.
There’s six votes in play tonight so a tie is possible. If it’s a tie then Sylvia will be the one to go home as she had the lowest weightloss.
Mel’s voting first. She’s voting for the person who is more strategic and it’s come down to who motivates them more as a family. She’s voted for Sylvia.
Jodie wanted Ali to be by their side and Sylvia was on the table that sent her home. Revenge!
Tony’s first of the Jofres to vote tonight. He knows both girls want to be there. One team is there for the money and one team is there for the right reasons, getting healthy and losing weight. So he’s voting to send Sylvia home. Sylvia’s not surprised.
Tony jumps straight in and says she can do it on the outside, do it with her husband and kids, people who care about her, not Sam and Cliff who are there for the money. Pablo tells Sylvia her and her husband are always welcome at his place and Sylvia says if they’re ever in Perth, give her a ring. Aww!
All the Jofres are speak glowingly of Sylvia, Rob points out it was definitely not a vote against her, just Team White. Sylvia says she appreciates that, she didn’t think it was anything other than that.
Sylvia wants the others to tell Sam and Cliff to stay motivated and realise it’s about more than money.
Sylvia’s hoping to get home for her daughter’s birthday tomorrow, she’s turning 9. The daughter will be eating cake and Sylvia will be eating carrot sticks, hah!
Sylvia tells us she’s loved every minute of being on the show, wouldn’t trade it for anything, even if it’s not always looked like she’s been loving it.
After an ad break it’s time for dramatic loungeroom! Sam and Cliff both think Sylvia won’t be coming back. Sam’s telling the Auvales she thinks Sylvia wanted to go, was excited to go home. Hmm, not sure about that.
Sam tells us she won’t be upset if Sylvia doesn’t come back, she thinks her and Cliff will thrive without Sylvia there. Still gotta do the work, guys!
Johnee’s thrilled to have Tenealle back, says it made him feel warm and fuzzy all over. N’awww!
Tony says Sylvia really opened up in the elimination room and Pablo tells them he got a bit upset by what she said, particularly the bit about telling Sam to at least pretend to cry. Sam looks a bit confused. Or possibly caught? But she didn’t want to go home.
Cliff pipes up and says Sylvia’s wanted to go home for weeks, had a big smile on her face when they were below the line, put herself up, wouldn’t take no for an answer. Cliff, your pants seem to be burning…
Jodie says Sylvia said Sam and Cliff are there for the money and Sam gets annoyed at that, reminds everyone she gave up $20,000. If they were there for money wouldn’t they have taken that?
Tony says it’s Families and they’re there for the right reasons. Cliff gets riled up at that, they can’t judge what their reasons for being there. Tony’s trying to point out that this is just what Sylvia told them but Cliff yells louder and louder over the top of him and starts getting a bit sweary. They’re there for the right reasons and if Sylvia wants to dog them like that, fuck her!
The others point out that maybe she didn’t feel comfortable bringing it up with them. Sam says Sylvia always makes a mountain out of a molehill. In each training session she’d fake throwing up and then all the cameras would be on her. What are they supposed to do, just throw in the towel and leave her there doing nothing?
Rob finally suggests they might have to take all this up with her when they meet up again on the outside.
Sam tells us she’s never felt so embarassed, humiliated and angry. Time to go to her room and cry in her pillow. Actually, what she does is bitches with Cliff some more. She’s annoyed at Sylvia, telling Cliff they never talked about money and they were always trying to pick Sylvia up. Cliff’s over it, he just wants to move on and focus on the future.
Tiff’s down to two Hailwoods the next day. Sam’s still fuming about what Sylvia said in the elimination room. Tiff says they’ve definitely helped Sylvia, they were her crutch, the team is down another member. But time to focus on getting above the yellow line. Especially on working out why Cliff only lost a kilo at the weigh in.
Tiff asks Cliff if he works out this hard when she’s not there and he admits they haven’t. What they think is a hard work out is probably more like a warmup for Tiff? Tiff tells us she’s disappointed her team has been lying to her but angry they’ve been lying to themselves.
Cliff knows it’s not okay to cruise through the competition anymore. He’s pissed off. For greatness. Apparently it’s a quote from a “famous NFL player”. Presumably one who’s had about eleven too many concussions because it’s a stupid thing to say. But hey, if it gets Cliff to start working out properly I’m sure Tiff will take it.
Tiff sees a warrior in Cliff today, but it might be too late.
Commando Steve and the Auvales. Below the yellow line again, not good. Four times out of five. Steve asks them how much they really want it.
Moses says it’s been a hard week because a lot of emotions have come up. The brothers don’t talk a whole lot and Moses has just been made aware of it. But it’s also time for the other two to realise they’ve got to lose the weight themselves, he can’t do it all for them.
Tenealle’s not keen on working out with Moses today. He’s too negative, she says. Johnee wanted Moses to be there for him, not be at him all the time. Moses is always telling them they’re making excuses. Moses just wants them to get up and train more, go walking with him. But they don’t always want to. And if they don’t want to train he may as well go home. Tenealle’s tired of Moses suggesting he go home all the time.
Moses says they’re there to get her a baby. No more sitting around on the couch, get up and walk around instead of sitting down. Tenealle says it’s his whole demeanour, the way he goes about it, they don’t need him to be like Ali. She doesn’t want any part of that. Moses wonders if she wants him to go soft on them.
Johnee knows he needs to listen to Moses and he knows Tenealle’s just getting frustrated. Steve says of course you’re going to get frustrated, it’s getting hard now. And all this will keep bubbling up as they work harder and harder.
And there’s only one way to deal with all this. You guessed it, more training! Pretty sure that’s Commando Steve’s answer to everything.
Johnee’s promised Moses they won’t fall below the line for the next five weeks. Bold promise!
No training with the Jofres or Pestells this week? We’re straight off to The Game.
Fiona’s in a blue shirt today. And black pants. And she has a whole bunch of tubes and funnels and ladders and boxes and there’s four huge water tanks set up. Today’s task will involve lateral thinking, creative brainpower and strong puzzle solving skills. Fiona asks if the Jofres have been working on their puzzles and everyone laughs.
Each tank has a tube 15 metres away with a key at the bottom. Build some kind of contrivance out of the supplies provided to get water from the tank and into the tube so the key floats to the surface.
And there’s another catch. Once you turn the tap on the tank of water you can’t switch it back off. So you will eventually run out of water if your building skills aren’t up to scratch.
The winning team will get some kind of control over another team for the week. “Ultimate” control. Bringing some BDSM into TBL?
Mel says it looks challenging but fun. It’ll be interesting, they’ve never built anything before, not even Lego.
Cliff says everything he’s built before has come with instructions, but he’s alright with Ikea.
And of course there’s two teams of two, so the Auvales and Jofres will have to drop down to two to keep it fair. One of the Jofres first suggests the other teams just suck it up which gets a laugh out of everyone, then Jodie says they’ll take a Jofre which gets another laugh. And Pablo jumps across. Hello, keen to play with Mel… or Jodie?
Johnee’s the brains of the outfit while Moses is good at building things with his hands. So will it be those two?
The Jofres have picked Daniel and Rob as Pablo and Tony did the last challenge. Johnee and Moses are indeed working on the contraption for the Auvales.
Ready? Set? BUILD!
Jodie tells us they came last in the last game and this week they’re hoping to just not come last. Go girls!
The pile of supplies is quite large and includes things like watering cans, a jerry can, wheelbarrow, various kinds of pipe, a shopping trolley, ladder and a bunch of tape.
Cliff tells us building isn’t Sam’s strong point so he’s taking the lead. But he’s talking on his own in the little interview room where normally he’d be sitting with Sam. Things aren’t going to go well!
The Auvales are trying to work out how long the pipe needs to be to reach the tube and how high and so on. The Pestells are still looking at all their crap and wonder what half of it is and how they’re supposed to build anything out of it. Mel tells us she knows builders wear hard hats, but that’s it!
The Jofres actually looking to be making good progress, but whether it’ll all come together is anyone’s guess. They’re building up a lot of support beneath their pipeline in the hopes of making it strong enough to not have to do any rebuilding.
The Hailwoods, conversely, have a rickety looking structure cobbled together with some of the pipes and a bunch of gaffer tape.
Tenealle’s explaining the Hailwoods getting ahead of everyone while the Auvales and Jofres make more steady progress. “The Blue Team looked hopeless. I don’t even know what they were doing.” They’re not making good progress but to be fair they’re not arguing with each other and are having a bit of fun so it could be going a lot worse!
The Jofres are taking care to build a secure structure the first time because they know it could be all over if you turn the tank on and it falls apart or leaks too much.
Speaking of which, the Hailwoods are just turning the tap on their tank and it’s immediately spurting out of the gap between their pipe and the tank. Sam hurriedly tapes up the gap and they have a look at what else needs doing. There’s a big hole further down with a lot of water coming out of a bad join.
Tony and Pablo are encouraging their boys to work faster but Rob’s telling Daniel to just ignore them and keep making steady progress, think it all through so it doesn’t collapse.
Like the Hailwoods are currently dealing with. They are managing to get some water almost to the tube, but almost doesn’t really cut it. Cliff’s getting a bit shirty and Sam tells him to calm down, which he says will just annoy him more. Heh.
Cliff’s found a roll of glad wrap to patch things up but it doesn’t seem like it’ll be enough as there’s so many holes all over the place. Cliff thinks this might be his biggest mistake in the game thus far.
The Auvales are well ahead in Tenealle’s estimation, but whether it’ll hold up under the water they’ve just turned on remains to be seen.
Cliff’s under a lot of pressure and Sam says it’s not going to work and then Cliff chucks a tantrum and knocks most of the structure down. It needs to be taller, he thinks.
The other teams have seen Cliff’s temper before and it’s no surprise to them. Things aren’t going his way so he’s having a sook!
Sam’s also chatting to us separately, telling us Cliff’s temper hasn’t helped them at all today.
And just as Cliff’s starting to rebuild their pipeline the Auvales almost wear their’s as it twists and falls off their support structures. Johnee tells us that if they could change anything about their plan today he would have picked Tenealle instead. He and Moses both laugh.
The Pestells have finally built something! Mel’s taped the “elephant trunk” piece of insulated ducting to their tank. And that’s all they’ve done. Jodie tells us they’re no “Mario and Luigi”, they’re not plumbers! But she still has a smile on her face so they’re doing much better, aren’t they?
The Jofres have finally switched on their tank now that they have built everything to their satisfaction. They seem to be losing a little bit of water out of the last stretch of bamboo but it’s all mostly going into their tube. The others don’t have a sandpit, they have a pond, Daniel jokes.
Cliff’s even more pissed now. And he kicks some more things over. Well done! Sam says their only hope is for the Jofre construction to fall over. Still not sure they’d beat the Auvales to the finish line. They’d definitely beat the Pestells though!
The Jofres have finally filled their tube without any major dramas, much to their delight and the disappointment of the Hailwoods in particular. Sam tells us she can’t believe the Jofres “came from behind” to win.
They didn’t though, did they? They built their structure the right way the first time, putting in the effort instead of trying to take shortcuts. Might be a lesson in that somewhere?
Jodie’s just hoping now the Jofres won’t give them the penalty but they’re probably safe. The Hailwoods are probably stuffed though, right?
Time for the Jofres to find out what power they’ve won. The rest of the contestants can rack off back to the house!
We don’t find out what the power is just yet, of course. They open the case and leave it to our imagination.
Instead we get a catchup with Sylvia! Ten weeks later and she’s still quite fat but looks a lot healthier. She’s out having fun with her kids and her husband has also lost a ton of weight. She’s going to the gym every day, working out for 2-3 hours every day and she feels fantastic.
Before coming on the show she was in a size 26 and is now in a size 16. In a proper dress you wouldn’t even really pick her as being a former contestant. She’s still fat, of course, but it no longer looks like she could keel over from a heart attack at any moment. Good stuff!
Tomorrow night the Waratahs are on. So it’s the rugby union, then. Tiffiny seems a bit starstruck, which seems a little odd. Think that may have been edited in from elsewhere.
We also find out what power the Jofres have received. Mr Voiceover Man is teasing it as an entire family being sent home but it seems very unlikely they’d get to just eliminate them. Presumably they’ll have to go home and not have all the perks of Camp available, limited trainer access, temptations?
Find out tomorrow night!
