TBL 10×08 – Elimination Time! And Temptation! And Argumentation, Again!
Previously on The Biggest Loser nobody lost particularly good numbers on the scales and there was a lot of shouting and arguing, particularly between the White Hailwoods and the Blue Pestells.
Tonight the Pestells and Auvales face elimination. Who will face the music for each team tonight?
Later, Kayla reveals a secret to Tiffiny in training and then the food van arrives for the first Temptation of the year. Though maybe it’s “The Game” now.
But first, elimination discussions. The Hailwoods are upset at having to do it again but not as upset as they would be if they had to face elimination themselves. They’re weighing up who is likely to be put up and they think Moses from the Auvales will be up again and people will vote him out because Rina won’t cope without him, Kayla says. Nor will Johnee. Kayla doesn’t like the Pestells, but they might become an ally later on. They do like the Auvales, but they’re a massive threat. Big dilemma!
The Jofres are having a chat over who they think will be up. They think it’ll be Mel or Jodie from the Pestells and they also think Moses will sacrifice himself again. Daniel says if the Auvales put Rina up he won’t be able to vote her out, she’s too nice and genuine and awesome. But that’s voting with the heart, what’s the good strategy? Better strategy to get rid of the Auvales or better to leave the Pestells with just two people? They mull over the semi-alliance/debt the Pestells are claiming they’re owed but Tony doesn’t see it that way, thinks it was just for that challenge.
Time for the elimination room! Two teams with four each meaning a tie vote is possible once again. Who was the smallest losing family of the week? I forget.
Coming in for the elimination is Ali from the Pestells and Rina from the Auvales which has thrown the Jofres into a tizzy and the Hailwoods don’t look much happier with the choice presented to them.
Tony can’t believe those two are up, he thought Moses and Jodie. Ali does a lot around the house, as does Rina. Rina says that because Moses went last week she’s up this week. In the weigh in room Tenealle questioned why Rina needed to go up but Rina just said it’s her turn.
Ali says it’s hard to be the one in the room. She wasn’t going to be their original choice but after seeing Jodie on the scales convinced her that Jodie needs it a lot more than her, because Jodie’s still closed off from everyone.
Kayla says it’s horrible having to pick one, changing their life forever, but also they both have kids and it affects their lives too.
Fiona tells them it could be a hung vote again and thus the lowest weight loss percentage family will go home – Rina, surprisingly. The Pestells really did pull their fingers out this week, I guess!
Time to cast your votes, Jofres first this week. Probably so the Hailwoods don’t wear it all again!
Rob from the Jofres is up first. Both girls are parents, as he is, so it’s a hard decision. He’s basing his choice on who can make it on the outside, and the person he’s voted for can make it on the outside because she’s strong. So he’s voted for Ali. Oh dear.
Tony’s disappointed it’s those two up for elimination but he has to vote and it’s for Ali. Two for Ali, needs three more though.
Pablo admires both women and doesn’t understand why those two are up at all. He’s voted for Ali as well. That’s three down, only one Jofre to go…
Daniel doesn’t want to be the one to change someone’s life but if anyone can do it on the outside it’ll be Ali, he thinks.
Oh no, it’s down to the Hailwood votes AGAIN! Poor bastards.
Ali’s furious, says it’s not fair of the Red team because they got help from the Blues to get immunity. Daniel says that at the end of the day, he couldn’t vote for Rina. Ali says it’s crap that they did it and she can see why Jodie doesn’t trust them. Daniel says they gave her a go but Ali’s not buying it.
Cliff says neither lady deserves to be there and they both add so much to the house, but his decision comes down to who could do it on the outside. And it’s not just about the support on the outside but the support that will be coming back home to them… so he’s voted for RINA. Ali is gobsmacked, she was clearly expecting the worst while Cliff was talking.
One for Rina, four for Ali. Still in the balance, but will the Hailwoods vote as a bloc?
Sam says they’re there for their kids, making a difference for the generations below them as well. She’s also voted for Rina. Uhoh!
Kayla’s going with her head, strategy, what will get the Hailwoods further. Voting for Rina gets them further.
It all comes down to Sylvia’s vote. Poor girl!
Sylvia says her and Ali haven’t gotten along too well, they’re both strong women and they share a wry smile at that. But she also sympathises with Rina as Sylvia has three girls at home she wants to do well for, etc. But her vote is going to Rina!
So long Rina. And now Ali’s burnt her bridges with the Jofres with that little blowup, have fun!
Poor Rina is in tears, but she gets to go home and teach her kids how to cook quinoa. She asks the others to tell her family she loves them and she hopes they make it to the end. And she loves Moses. Aww!
Rina’s had a lot of fun and done some things she never thought she would. Now she has to go home and make Commando proud. No six weeks later thing just yet? Dang.
Moses is doing it tough in the loungeroom. Jodie says she’s going to be devastated if Ali doesn’t come back, she’s also under the belief they had an agreement with Red. Oh, this is going to go down well! More fighting over that than sads about Rina leaving, I’m guessing.
Tenealle’s in tears at Rina not coming back. Moses is just sitting silently and closing himself off.
And then loudmouth Ali has to start shit by pointing out the Red team put her name down. The Jofres were expecting Jodie to be put up and they would have put her name down because of her terrible attitude.
Jodie is flabbergasted! She wants to be there, is this all because of what the trainers said in elimination? Tony says no, he invited Jodie to come train with them the other day and she said no. Jodie says she’s never said she can’t be bothered.
Ali points out again that without immunity the Jofres would have been below the line. Which is true! And Ali says they’ve learned they can’t trust the Red team. Derrrr.
Johnee finally speaks up and says that if anyone should feel sad it’s the Black team, they’re the ones who lost someone. The other teams need to drop the negative energy, it’s a game in the end and you just have to get on with it.
Later on it’s time for training and Commando Steve has his people out in the pouring rain while thunder rolls overhead. Yes, it’s very macho, but you’re carrying around tiny electrical items around with you that will happily conduct a lightning bolt. Don’t be stupid!
Anyway, their job today is to keep up with Commando Steve, who’ll be doing everything they’re doing today. No more falling below the line!
Steve knows Moses will be distraught, but he’ll have to draw on some inner strength to get past it. His wife is gone but he’s still there, time to focus on himself. Steve’s trying to get Moses fired up with some talk about his kids, but it’s not working, Moses isn’t really getting into it. Steve knows they’ve got to get beyond their loss as soon as possible or they’ll fall further behind.
Now we’re training with Tiffiny! Tiffiny is very happy today because not only have they got the biggest losing family, they have Kayla the biggest loser of the week. Time for some power punches and thinking about what’s holding her back. Her family, her weight, her confidence, she’s not happy anymore. She doesn’t know how to be happy anymore.
When was the last time she was happy? Three months ago. Her and her boyfriend were really happy, but not anymore. What happened, Tiff asks? The day after their audition in Melbourne he was killed in a car crash.
Holy fucking crap, poor Kayla. How did she even go through with going on the show after that? They first got together five years ago. The day after the audition she tried to call him but he wasn’t picking up, but no big deal, her Mum took her for a drive. They saw a police car on the drive and figured there must have been a really bad accident. Then at 2 in the morning a friend of his rang and gave Kayla the bad news. The police car was there for the crash her boyfriend was in. Awful, just awful.
Kayla hasn’t been happy ever since and really, who can blame her? That’s pretty harsh and nobody can blame her for still be grieving this soon afterwards. It’s only been a few months since Greg died. Sylvia says he was a crazy bloke but he loved her so much. He was 27 and was going to propose to Kayla at Christmas. Sam wants them to start talking about him, because he was a good bloke and it’ll help to remember the good things.
Tiff says through being at Camp she’s going to get stronger and get better at dealing with this as time goes on, especially with the support of her family.
More punching! Then hugs!
The Auvales are now looking at an alliance with the Jofres. They’ve realised they can’t play the game all loveydovey anymore. The Hailwoods are playing the game so Tenealle says they want to make sure they’re below the line for the next four weeks and pick them off one by one.
Seems there might be an alliance. And then they make it official with a swap of jumpers and a handshake. The Auvales are just looking at getting rid of the Hailwoods. Let’s see how long it lasts!
Surprise Princess Fiona! The best kind of surprise! They’re all grabbing their lunches and bemoaning the lack of real bread.
Fiona comes in and says hello and looks around for the Blue team. They’re upstairs so Fiona orders them to go gather them up, she’ll be in the sunken lounge. Once everyone’s there Fiona tells them it’s time to play… The Game!
Mel looks like she’s literally shitting herself in fear. Or is that what she always looks like, it’s hard to say.
The winner of The Game will get the bestest power yet, with power over every family in the competition. Oooh. And they’ll each be playing alone. Oooooh. And first to play is Sam! Fiona wishes the rest of them good luck.
Sam’s worried it might be a race, or finding something on a map, and she can’t find things with a GPS.
… but they’ve got a car to take them to where the food trucks are located because it is still pissing down rain. And now Fiona’s gone missing, presumably she didn’t want to wander around in the mud.
The Game is actually Temptation. 5 minutes to eat as much food as you like from the food trucks, highest calorie count wins an “unprensidented” power. Bogan.
First truck is a sliders truck, which is a snobby way to say “small burgers”. Second truck is pulled pork and chicken wings, third is a crepes truck and fourth is an ice cream truck. Sam says it all looks amazing, she hasn’t had anything like it for three weeks. She can’t work out what to do… but it doesn’t take her long to accept a soft serve ice cream with 100s and 1000s all over it.
She hasn’t had sugar in weeks! But she’s come so far and she feels it would be a step back. And seeing Tiff afterwards scared her too much, so she doesn’t partake.
Johnee’s next. If they had a whole suckling pig he’d be doomed! He’s running back and forth between the trucks like a “fat kid in a candy store”.
An ad break hides whether Johnee ate anything. Pablo’s up next. He recalls eating 5,000 calories in a sitting in the old days and not even being full. So he picks up some chicken wings and two chicken sliders. He knows they need the power because everyone’s gunning for them. His stomach has shrunk already though and he’s feeling it.
Big surprise, Jodie’s partaking. She needs the power for her family and they’re missing a team member and because she loves ice cream. So smart. Shannan’s going to kill her, she knows, but she loves it and is giggling like mad.
Ali’s next. She gets a “kid’s cone” which looks just like a normal cone. And she makes half the swirl disappear in one go. Pig!
Oh, no, wait, now she’s a pig as she goes back for at least one more. Then Mel’s turn. She takes an ice cream with hundreds and thousands on it too. So all three Pestells ate at Temptation, because they wanted to, and they are very stupid.
Tenealle knows Commando would kill her, but she loves crepes. And the boys would love the pork and chicken truck.. and she’s right, Moses is next seen chowing down on a BBQ beef roll. It’s a foot long roll with BBQ beef and piled high with coleslaw.
Hey, Sylvia knows how to say unprecedented, well done! But will she be smart enough not to partake? She’s thought from the start that she wouldn’t take part in Temptation but the boys in the crepe van are teasing her with whipped cream on the crepes and then spooning out some melted chocolate to suck on.
Kayla’s a bit tempted, especially by the lovely looking crepes. But she opts for the 61 calorie kids cone, because she knows her family needs the power.
Daniel’s hungry by the time he gets to the food vans, but he doesn’t want to fall back into the old habits that got him there. He gets an eggplant slider in the end, which disappears in about two bites.
Rob from the Jofres is next. He takes FOUR sliders, admitting he might have been tempted by the food as much as the chance at getting the power.
Tony’s the same. He’s thinking the biggest challenge will come from Cliff, who is known to love food and love food challenges. Tony has at least two crepes.
Cliff is up next, as it happens! So much food on some of the plates, and he knows that they need the power… so he gets a crepe as well as it’s one of the higher calorie options.
This has to be one of the eatingest groups ever, if not in raw calories then certainly in number of eaters?
After another ad break Fiona is back, telling them it’s a great night for comfort eating, huh? None of them have seen food like that since coming to the house, so who was tempted and who stayed strong?
TEN of them were tempted. Only four didn’t eat. Mind boggling and Fiona says it’s probably some kind of Biggest Loser record.
One of them consumed 1,719 calories. Tony’s pretty sure it’s Pablo, Cliff’s still thinking maybe it’s him. Moses says he’s smiling.
But it’s Tony who’s won! Mixture of laughs and horrified looks from all involved.
So, Tony, want to know what you’ve won? Well first, everyone else has to rack off!
Fiona ups the teasing a bit more, saying it’s the biggest power everrrr but we don’t get to hear it yet because it’s time to catch up with Rina five weeks later!
She’s looking a bit less heavy and is eating healthy food with her family. Her daughter has lost 9kg since Rina got home as well, which is a bit surprising since she doesn’t look all that big.
Rina’s doing 2-3 workouts a day at the gym and is feeling a lot fitter than she did before. Looking back at the audition tape the changes in her face are already quite noticeable. She was a size 26 going into The Biggest Loser and she says she’s now down to a 20, and her sexy body is on the way. She’s lost 22kg since the start/
Tomorrow night Tony’s power is revealed and the trainers all look pretty miffed, Steve in particular.
Then… two Tiffinys? YES PLEASE! Also two Commando Steves and two Shannans and two Michelles maybe?
Then a challenge, with one of the Hailwoods going down hard in a pursuit race thing of some kind. Is she DOOOOMED? Or is it just a bit of drama that amounts to nothing?
