TBL 10×07 – Pigs In Mud Conclusion, Weigh In Drama Llamas
Previously on The Biggest Loser Dr Swan came in with his bio age business again, though now it’s “body age”. Whatever, dude.
A four way tug of war in a mud pit was started, with the prize on offer being immunity from the next elimination. The Hailwoods, Cliff in particular, has been spitting the dummy over the Jofres helping the Pestells to get a flag. No sense arguing about it, guys. Get on with it!
Tonight, they get on with it! Cliff’s still fuming as a new round starts. Hailwoods still have all three flags to get, Jofres, Auvales and Pestells are all down to two. Which also means two contestants per side. So the Hailwoods have three and like their chances now. They’re trying to get themselves going by screaming they don’t want to lose to cheats.
They’re really not cheating, it’s one of the strategies, you would know this if you’d watched previous seasons. Silly!
The Hailwoods are struggling towards their first flag and Cliff manages to dive forward and grab their first one. Cliff is overjoyed. Princess Fiona tries to lighten the mood by telling Cliff, who is now about 99% covered in mud, that women pay hundreds of dollars for treatments like this. He’ll have skin like butter! Not sure he’s convinced.
All square again, two tuggers per team and two flags left each. The Jofres look to be the strongest again and they pretty quickly manage to grab their next flag, meaning they’re down to just one member.
The Pestells are playfully fighting with mud, not sure how long that cheery attitude is going to last.
The last Jofre says he’s looked up to his brothers all his life because he’s the youngest but he doesn’t want to get as big as them. Sorry, I still have trouble telling all the beards apart. Daniel! It’s Daniel. Tony just said so. Strong legs, he says.
Cliff’s much too strong, even against the Pestells who are basically just lying in the mud like anchors. Cliff gets another flag, leaving Auvales and Pestells as the only ones with two flags each.
Moses and Rina are confident this round since it’s two of them versus Daniel on the Jofre side. They win. Only Pestells with two people left, makes it hard on Cliff but he’s a big strong boy. He might be able to drag them but the Pestells have other ideas. They decided they have to shaft the Hailwoods because they sent the Pestell Dad home. Maybe you should’ve lost more weight!
The Pestells decide to help Daniel, which has the Hailwoods disgusted yet again. Then Cliff decides that if they can’t win then they’ll help the Auvales… but it’s no good, the combined forces of Pestell and Jofre get it done. The Jofres will now have immunity at the elimination, which is bad news for the rest of the teams. Another week where they can’t get rid of one of the big strong Jofre boys? Oh dear.
And now, with the challenge over, there’s a massive blow up among the contestants. The Hailwoods have “lost the plot” by their own admission. Kayla says it felt unfair.
Cliff then stands up at last and says he’s only going to say this once, “No one here likes ya, you’re just a stupid mole, you need to shut your face.” Fiona’s got a horrified look on her face. It’s just a game, guys, pleads elder Jofre. Cliff thinks the Jofres will be voting the Pestells out very soon.
The Pestells are having another bitch to camera about the Hailwoods, Cliff has had it in for them from day one apparently. Called Ali stupid, it seems. Pot, kettle, you know how it goes.
Back at Camp Sam is weighing up her options when it comes to the $20,000 offer. Does she want to take the money and go home or stick around and keep fighting. Sam’s initial reaction was to not take it, they don’t need it, but then she thought of all the things they could do with it, like put down a house deposit, etc. Her and Cliff weren’t dating long before she got pregnant with Sophia. Sophia had an underdeveloped lower bowel when she was born and was taken to hospital for a while to receive treatment. Sam started eating because she was sad and since then has been the “fat mum” and she thinks people think less of her for it.
Team Hailwood just wants Sam to make the right decision that leaves her with no regrets… at least they tell her that to her face. Away from the chat they’re all saying they’ll be gutted if she leaves.
Meanwhile, Shannan’s chatting to the Pestells before training. Did they win immunity? No. The Jofres helped them for one flag, but they don’t know why. Shannan pulls them up and asks them to think it through. Red wanted immunity, so of course they helped, expecting help in return. Shannan says it’s the same team they dumped a 5kg penalty on them last time. Ali tells us she’s not sure whether they can trust the Red team. Wonder why Cliff thinks you’re stupid…
The workout hasn’t even started and Jodie is already freaking out. Shannan wants them to get on the treadmills again. Shannan wants to build their confidence on the treadmill so they can start doing more kilometres a week.
Mel’s actually gotten right into it after some initial worrying. Jodie’s still standing on either side of the treadmill. Shannan is very pleased to see Mel having a go, but Jodie’s still stuck in the past. Jodie tells us it’s a skill she’ll never need, jumping on and off a treadmill. Jodie’s adamant she can’t do this but Shannan is continuing to badger her, asking her if she’s more scared of the treadmill or being stuck in her old life forever. Getting on the treadmill is important for her training.
Shannan suspects the girls may not have been working out enoug with the way they’re freaking out over the treadmills. He’s worried because he knows they’ve got to be training hard if they want to lose big numbers on the scales.
Meanwhile in Jofre-training-land, Michelle is ecstatic that her boys have earned themselves immunity. They’ve done the hard work this week so they’re all quite relaxed.
So relaxed they’re all looking a bit sluggish, Mish notices. It’s last chance training and they need to be working out harder than this. Mish is concerned they may put on weight which would strip them of immunity and the other teams will definitely send one of them home.
The Auvales are training well. Commando Steve says family unity is everything in this and his team aren’t arguing like virtually all the other teams.
Johnee’s an odd character, Steve tells us, with a bit of a blase attitude, but he’s working out hard even though he has an injured achilles. Tenealle’s quiet but she digs deep and gets it done. Moses is the chief, he’s doing it for the family and supporting Rina all the way. Rina’s smashing it out in training today. She’d let herself go over the years but she’s turning it around now.
Now Tiff’s team is blowing up. They’re worried Sam will take the money but Tiff just wants to get her team above the yellow line. Today’s training challenge is to do a whole kilometre run, no breaks. Sylvia thinks it’s impossible but Cliff says nothing is impossible. Sylvia says it might not be impossible for him but it is for her. Sam points out Cliff is 50kg heavier than her.
As it turns out, Sylvia managed to do the 1km but she was holding onto the rails for a lot of it. Sylvia lacks self confidence, she tells us. Kayla wants her to bust her arse, not make excuses.
And off we go with the shouting and screaming at each other. Sylvia says Sam wasn’t training last night, but Sylvia was!
Cliff says they need to start working together because they’re a family, all the bickering needs to stop now or they’ll never win anything.
Tiff’s sad because the money offer has torn them apart, usually they’re a tightly knit group. Sam still hasn’t made a decision, but she knows what is at stake.
Tiff is worried she could lose Sam and then lose another and then in two weeks she could have no team left at all. So what are they going to do about it? Cliff suggests running another kilometre. Tiff seems surprised, but Cliff says why not, give it a try. Sylvia says she hates Cliff and Cliff says he loves her too. Aww!
Sam’s running at 11km/h which has Tiffiny very excited. After she finishes the 1km she starts looking a little queasy and she has to walk off for a bit of a puke. Hah!
The Pestells are sitting poolside having a chat about their hopes for Sam to take the money and run and maybe fall below the line, too. Jodie thinks the Jofres and Auvales are their friends and that the Hailwoods have everyone offside with their behaviour.
Time for weigh ins! But first, unfinished business. Will Sam be taking the money or not? Nobody knows what she’s decided yet…
Sam says it’s been a hard decision. She could go home and be a Mum again. Tiff doesn’t want her to leave because her main concern is Sam’s health.
Sam has decided… she’ll be staying! Tiff looks the most pleased by that decision. Going to be a lot more hard work, Tiff!
The Pestells look preeetty disappointed!
Sam says they came from a poor family and the $20,000 was very tempting, but it’s no good having the money if she’s still morbidly obese. Cliff is very pleased she’s staying, too.
Time for the weigh in itself! The Jofres have immunity and thus can’t fall below the yellow line unless they’ve gained weight, which would be a huge mistake this early in the game!
The Jofres are weighing in first, of course. Mish is worried because she knows they’ve missed some training sessions this week.
Daniel Previous: 118.5kg
Daniel Now: 118kg
Loss: 0.5kg
Pathetic. Diet alone should have got him a better loss than that. Have the boys loaded up on water? Let’s see the other numbers…
Rob Previous: 144.4kg
Rob Now: 141.2kg
Loss: 3.2kg
That’s a bit more reasonable for a second week loss.
Tony Previous: 117.2kg
Tony Now: 115.6kg
Loss: 1.6kg
Pablo Previous: 145.2kg
Pablo Now: 143.1kg
Loss: 2.1kg
Jofre Total: 7.4kg
Jofre Percentage: 1.41%
So they’re safe, but they received a bit of a wake up call as well.
Commando Steve is hoping for big numbers this week, they’ve all been training hard.
Rina Previous: 145.3kg
Rina Now: 142.4kg
Loss: 2.9kg
At least one Auvale had already weighed in as the readout above the scales says 8.1kg!
Tenealle Previous: 125.3kg
Tenealle Now: 122.8kg
Loss: 2.5kg
Tenealle’s a little disappointed.
Moses Previous: 115kg
Moses Now: 112.3kg
Loss: 2.7kg
Moses ate right this week, wasn’t eating Rina’s leftovers for once!
Johnee Previous: 198.3kg
Johnee Now: 195.9kg
Loss: 2.4kg
Oof, bit disappointing from the biggest man in the competition. Even with an injury he should probably have lost a bit more than that. Commando Steve’s very worried.
Auvale Total: 10.5kg
Auvale Percentage: 1.8%
Hailwoods! They need a total of 9.6kg to stay above the yellow line at this point.
Kayla Previous: 104.7kg
Kayla Now: 101.3kg
Loss: 3.4kg
Tiff’s proud of her, she did everything she was asked.
Sam Previous: 105.2kg
Sam Now: 102.3kg
Loss: 2.9kg
Sylvia Previous: 136.2kg
Sylvia Now: 132.9kg
Loss: 3.3kg
Exactly how many they needed, with Cliff still to go.
Cliff Previous: 181.6kg
Cliff Now: 176.7kg
Loss: 4.9kg
Hailwood Total: 14.5kg
Hailwood Percentage: 2.75%
Pretty good result for week two, but the Pestells still remain. The Auvales are definitely facing elimination yet again.
Ali’s the first Pestell to weigh in. They need at least 11.6kg between them to be safe. About 4kg each. Not likely, but we’ll see.
Ali Previous: 123.2kg
Ali Now: 120.7kg
Loss: 2.5kg
She’s worried they’ll be facing elimination, but they helped the Jofres get immunity so she’s hoping they’ll have their backs. Would not be putting any stock in that! The Jofres say noooothing in response.
Jodie Previous: 149.2kg
Jodie Now: 145.3kg
Loss: 3.9kg
It’s not a bad result, it’s just not going to be enough to save them, is it? Jodie thinks one of them will be going home, she tells Fiona. This means her life to her, without the show she’ll be back home sitting by herself.
And now it’s kicking off. Jodie says one of them will probably go home because the White Team said nobody likes them and everyone will vote them out. They voted out her Dad! They’ve been arrogant and rude to them, for what reason? Moses says it was just one group saying it and Jodie yells back at him, whyyyy? Steve looks away awkwardly. Couldn’t be because of shitty outbursts like this, could it?
After an ad break she’s still chucking a tantrum. Moses says a lot of them do like her. Shannan asks Jodie if she’s given them a chance to see the real version of herself. He liked the one he met when they were locked together in her house munching away on food, but the one that’s come to Camp is a pain in the arse. He’s sick of the “I can’t” and “I hate this” and so on. Has she given them a chance to see the real you?
Kayla then speaks up and says that regarding the competition she knows they said some inappropriate things and they’re sorry for what happened, they don’t dislike them at all they’re just a very competitive group.
Jodie’s having none of it, saying they don’t sound sorry. Shannan repeats the “if calories were burnt arguing my team would win” thing again. Jodie says Kayla has an attitude about the apology and Shannan says no, Jodie’s lost the skill to communicate, her weight has driven that out of her. It’s very tough as a trainer to keep turning up when she has a bad attitude. Jodie says he shits her and Shannan says that’s okay, he’s going to keep working with her, she can’t drive him away like she drives other people away. She can’t go back to living in the bubble back at home, Shannan tells her.
Mel tells Jodie they’re not giving up on the competition and Jodie barks back that she never said she was giving up.
Fiona then weighs in and says when she was on the show she didn’t get along with everyone either, but she found if she took that frustration and put it into her training and prove the others wrong, she can turn it around.
Will that breakdown finally turn things around or will she carry on like an idiot?
Mel needs to have lost 5.2kg to save the day. That seems really unlikely but she is very large and it’s not at all impossible…
Mel Previous: 146kg
Mel Now: 143.9kg
Loss: 2.1kg
Pestell Total: 8.5kg
Pestell Percentage: 2.03%
At least this week they’re not the smallest losers so a tied vote won’t be their downfall. They’ll have to be voted out over… Tenealle, maybe? If the Auvales are smart they’ll put a small one against whoever the Pestells put up.
Kayla is the biggest loser of the week and the Hailwoods are the biggest losing family, too.
Time to pick your sacrificial lambs, Auvales and Pestells.
The Pestells are talking about looking the Jofres in the eyes and reminding them who got them immunity. Don’t think they’re going to care, who wants drama llamas in the house?
Tomorrow night, elimination time again. Everyone is surprised by the two people up for elimination, but is it real surprise or just fake show-surprise? Who do you think will be up?
Then, Temptation is back, it seems. Delicious fast foods, om nom nom.
