9×26 – Last Chance Weigh In Elimination Toot Toot

Previously on The Biggest Loser the remaining contestantchampions got their makeovers at last. Then they had another “pigs in mud” challenge right afterward. Bit mean.

Tonight they seem to be in a studio with a desk and doing interviews and ohhhh, no, this is just The Project running way over time. I was confused.

TONIGHT! The game is afoot! Last chance training follow by another weigh in and elimination. Will the ridiculous “Awesome Foursome” dominate or be decimated?

But first Sir Shannan Ponton has his team – Kevin, Katrina and Jane – in the boxing gym. There’s some wry smiles from Kevin, relating the four versus one thing at the challenge. Kev tells us they’re always working out together, eating together and plotting together.

They’d targeted Craig, figuring the less exercise he got that night the better. Then Caitlin because she came back into the competition so they couldn’t let her win. Shannan’s chuffed, seeing a bit of strategy forming among the girls. Katrina thinks there’s safety in having three people having your back.

There’s no secret to the alliance, but now they’ve got a target on their backs.

Sir The Commando has Sharon, Craig and Kerry in an indoor gym for a change. Craig knows now he’ll have to stay above the yellow line if he wants to be safe because clearly everyone’s gunning for him. Steve wants to make sure he doesn’t grow complacent, he’s got to push hard in training. He’s on a crosstrainer and Steve tells him to push hard, like he’s climbing Everest. There’s no air to breathe but you have to keep going!

Dame Michelle Bridges has Caitlin, Toni and Rodger out on the back lawn near the lake with some wheelbarrows full of sandbags. Mish turned up at 10.30am and thus the contestants had all morning to get an hour’s worth of training in. But have they? I’m going to guess not!

Homework hasn’t been done. “What the?” Say it Mish. Say it! WHAT THE FUCK!

Mish wonders if they’re joking but they’re not. She says it’s disrespectful. Do they even want to be there? Why’s she there? They can do their own training session. Or go back to the house.

Caitlin says she was sore, that’s why she didn’t do it. They weren’t going to hide it from Mish though, just tell her.

Michelle’s got them to run with wheelbarrows full of sandbags. But the edge of the path is muddy and has tracks running through it so they have trouble getting the wheelbarrows off the lawn. Caitlin takes a tumble along with her wheelbarrow. She decides to unload it before moving it any further. Smart move!

Toni’s part of the Awesome Foursome, Mish knows, so she has others in her team. But Rodger and Caitlin are not in an alliance so they have to be working harder and longer than the others.

Rodger’s a former athlete so he can regain that fitness, Mish tells him. He can be the fittest 51 year old grandfather. He’s fine once he gets going, digs in deep and gets it done.

Caitlin, on the other hand, isn’t giving 100% and Mish knows Caitlin knows it, too. Caitlin had said she wanted to change just yesterday and then today she didn’t do her homework. But she still has the choice to eat right and train hard, Mish tells us.

Every training session can bring them resilience, sleeping in brings them nothing, Mish tells them. She’s not asking them to be Olympic athletes, she just wants them to work hard. She doesn’t want them to go home regretting their lack of effort, they’ll be home again soon enough.

Toni and Rodger get sent off afterwards so Michelle can have a chat with Caitlin. Caitlin agrees she’s in danger, having been targeted second at the challenge. She suspects she may be below the yellow line this week because she’s become a bit complacent and hasn’t done enough work. Mish tells us Caitlin needs to dig deep and tell her what’s really bothering her.

But now it’s time for weigh in!

Kevin says everyone wants the Awesome Foursome out but the odds of two of them being below the yellow line are not good. Quite a few people left but at some point maybe Craig, Rodger, Caitlin and Kevin will realise they’re a group of four too…

Sharon has Immunity, meaning she’s safe unless she’s put on weight. Will Katrina play her golden immunity bracelet? She waffles about for a bit and eventually says she’s hanging onto it for another week.

Time to weigh in!

Sharon Previous: 88.4kg
Sharon Now: 86.2kg
Sharon Loss: 2.2kg
Sharon Percentage: 2.49%

She’s quite happy with her result. And she’s still really emotional about the other girls earning immunity for her. She’s a Mum, usually she looks after everyone else.

Hayley asks if she can know the strategy going forward but Sharon says she can’t talk about that. She does say she wants to get right through to the end!

Next up is Caitlin. She says she’s worked hard but not as hard as she should have. She’s become complacent as she’s lost good numbers regularly at the house.

Caitlin Previous: 110.5kg
Caitlin Now: 106.8kg
Caitlin Loss: 3.7kg
Caitlin Percentage: 3.35%

Nice! Mish tells us it was unexpected but it’s a big relief.

Shannan says the last time he saw her she was talking about being glad to be back and will be working hard and so on. What happened? Caitlin says she struggled to find her place back in the house. When she got back in the house the cliques had formed and it was very unwelcoming, she felt excluded. So she didn’t push herself. She found it difficult to live in a house where she felt unwelcome. Hayley asks her if it’s tough for a seventeen year old and Caitlin says it’d be tough for anyone.

Mish says they’re in an adult world and while Caitlin’s quite grown up she is still only seventeen so if she’s feeling ostracised try and remember she’s so young. Katrina flips her hand up to say she didn’t know Caitlin felt ostracised which is so obviously bullshit it’s a wonder she didn’t choke to death when it dribbled out of her mouth.

Caitlin’s asked how she feels, just in case she’s there for another few weeks. She didn’t feel included, was a huge change and she was only gone for a week. And she didn’t feel confident enough to tell other people how she felt.

Katrina says she has two kids only a bit older than her and so she’s sorry if Caitlin felt alone and ostracised because she’s not unwanted in any way, shape or form. Other than in the way they’re trying to shove her straight back out the door despite not being any kind of threat. UGH.

Mish says it’s good to get all this out, doesn’t she feel better now? And Caitlin says she does.

Toni Previous: 100.5kg
Toni Now: 97.3kg
Toni Loss: 3.2kg
Toni Percentage: 3.18%

More than Toni expected.

Katrina Previous: 110.6kg
Katrina Now: 107.9kg
Katrina Loss: 2.7kg
Katrina Percentage: 2.44%

Dead last. Caitlin’s now safe.

Kevin Previous: 170kg
Kevin Now: 167kg
Kevin Loss: 3kg
Kevin Percentage: 1.76%

Kevin says it’s an awesome result for him. In his original audition video he was at 268kg, so this marks him passing 100kg. Amazing result for Kevin, good to see him so much happier too!

Jane Previous: 98.3kg
Jane Now: 96.7kg
Jane Loss: 1.6kg
Jane Percentage: 1.63%

Even less than Kevin!

Rodger needs at least 1.9kg to guarantee himself safety. Should be doable, he seems confident.

Rodger Previous: 106.3kg
Rodger Now: 105.2kg
Rodger Loss: 1.1kg
Rodger Percentage: 1.03%

Dead last. But Kevin’s safe now!

Mish points out Rodger’s getting close to his goal weight now, so he won’t be losing much weight anymore. Mish points this out and suggests that maybe it might be something to consider come elimination time. HAH! Nice try, Michelle.

Kerry needs at least 1.8kg to stay safe. He should be able to do that, he’s a competition leader so it should be a safe bet. But you never know!

Kerry Previous: 108.9kg
Kerry Now: 107.5kg
Kerry Loss: 1.4kg
Kerry Percentage: 1.29%

He’s safe for now, but Rodger is definitely facing elimination.

Kerry says he hasn’t changed anything so he’s not sure why his number went down. But he might be safe, Toni’s in the henhouse now but she’s got to remember he’s her rooster and he’s a “pretty proud cock at that!” Everyone has a good chuckle at that one.

Last is Craig. He needs at least 2kg to stay safe and force Kerry below the line.

Craig Previous: 147.4kg
Craig Now: 140.6kg
Craig Loss: 6.8kg
Craig Percentage: 4.61%

SMASHED IT. Biggest loser of the week and everyone’s in awe.

So it’s Kerry and Rodger facing elimination. Bugger, none of the Awesome Foursome.

Craig’s very happy with his result and eager to see next week’s. He thought the girls liked him but they knocked him out first at the challenge. But he’s not going to need immunity with results like that every week.

Craig’s now in second place on the leaderboard, right between Kerry and Toni apparently. A subtle hint from Hayley they should send Kerry home?

$12,850 put into the kitty from weightloss this week, plus another $5,000 from Kerry shaving his beard at the makeovers. $104,620 total in the kitty now. Awesome!

So there’s three votes outside the foursome, thus they can’t win and Rodger will go home I’d imagine. Not like the foursome will send Kerry home.

Toni’s worried for Kerry and worried what she’ll do if he leaves. But he’s top of the leaderboard with weight still to lose.

Jane points out that they only just gave Rodger his second chance, they can’t take it away from him again so soon.

Toni says she knows, and they’ve discussed, having to vote each other out at some point potentially. But it still makes her tear up. Awww.

Time for elimination room. Hayley says both men are big community men, well loved, etc. But Kerry’s a big threat and they’ve sent Rodger home before, they could do it again?

Toni’s worried for her husband Kerry. She doesn’t want to think of what will happen to her if he gets sent home.

So why shouldn’t you be eliminated, Kerry? Kerry says because he’s such a nice bloke! Other than that? Well, he tries to encourage everyone around him but he might be sending someone home next week. And it’s common sense to send the person in the lead home.

And if they keep him they’ll miss the big fella (Rodger), but bugger him. Rodger has a little smile and nod at that.

Rodger’s hoping that someone will decide to keep him in after sending him home early.

Jane says they’re both big threats but Kerry worries her more. Nobody can keep up with him but he’s also been their biggest support. But if Kerry was gone it might fire Toni up, she might focus more?

Caitlin thinks maybe Toni will fall apart if Kerry is sent home and the alliance might fall apart if one of the other girls votes to send Kerry home.

Time to vote!

Toni’s the first one to vote because it’s fairly obvious she’ll vote for Rodger. Right? Surely she won’t send her own husband home!

Toni apologises to Rodger saying it’s an alliance she can’t even contemplate breaking, and that’s fair enough. Rodger says it’s completely understandable Toni voting for him.

Sharon says they’re both good blokes and both big threats but she’s really connected with one of them so she’s got to vote for… Rodger. Again. Rodger has a little chuckle.

Caitlin thanks both of them first. Kerry and her haven’t always seen eye to eye but she still thinks he’s a great role model. But she’s voted Rodger out once and won’t do it again. She’s voted for Kerry.

Next up, Craig. He says if it had been last week he may have voted differently, but after the challenge he’s realised it’s a game and he has to look after himself. The odds won’t be in his favour if he’s below the line next week so he’s hoping to level the playing field a bit by voting for Kerry.

So that’s two votes apiece. Kevin’s likely to vote Kerry, leaving just the other two members of the Awesome Foursome in the balance…

But first, another ad break!

After the ads it’s time for Katrina’s vote. She says it’s an impossible situation, both men are brilliant people but she’s had to vote for Rodger. One more for Rodger will send him home, but Kevin’s next.

Kevin was hoping the decision would have been made before it got to him. One of the men has helped him through some of his lows, but he made his decision right when he was voting.

Kevin’s vote is for Rodger. Awww. Poor Rodger, sent home again. Rodger doesn’t seem too shocked or particularly upset, think he knew it was coming.

He says Kerry’s got a good chance at winning the whole thing and he’s looking forward to finale and catching up with everyone again.

Rodger’s message for any other 51 year olds becoming a grandfather, put your beer down and go for a jog. Get fit and healthy so you can spend so much more time with your grandkids.

Rodger’s lost most of his weight at home, not actually on the show, so he’s a big inspiration, Hayley says.

Rodger gives everyone a hug on the way out. He tells us he’s a brand new man, he’s turned his life around so it’s all been worth it.

4 weeks later… Rodger’s looking great! He’s also looking pretty thin, too. He’s eating healthy and getting his wife on the health foods too. And he’s enjoying exercise! Comes home from work, does some training. Looking forward to having grandkids.

People ask him if he’d do it again and Rodger says he won’t have to, the old Rodger’s never coming back.

Tomorrow night Super Challenge Week starts. Lots of scary challenges ahead… and three champs will be going home off the back of these epic challenges.

Wow, really churning them out now!
