9×24 – MAKEOVER TIME! Does my hair look pretty?

Previously on The Biggest Loser Cal was sent home, again, only this time he really went home. Mary was also sent home.

Tonight it’s part one of the makeover show. Primping and trimming and dressing in pretty things. And Kevin’s going to propose to his girlfriend, oooh!

Various townsfolk from Ararat will be showing up for the fashion show but since the makeovers will be continuing on Friday you can bet there’s going to be an annoying break somewhere silly.

But first the trainers turn up the next morning to see the new remaining contestants. Caitlin’s survived and now they’re 9, which is very convenient Mish points out. Nine contestants, three trainers. Three contestants per trainer.

Ladies pick first, Steve defers to Mish. Michelle picks Rodger, as they’ve basically been training together since almost the start anyway. Then Caitlin, because Michelle thinks they’re just getting started, making some breakthroughs and so on. Her last pick is Toni. Mish sees a lot of potential in her but also wants to give her a chance to shine on her own, away from her husband Kerry. Toni’s got a great attitude, Mish says, and wouldn’t feel nervous about getting a new trainer.

Shannan picks next, getting Katrina back again after promising Spanner he’d look after her. Then he picks Kevin, as they’ve lost 80kg together and he’d love to try and hit triple figures before they’re through. Kev just says, “Blue for life, mate.” And Shannan’s last pick is Jane. Jane changed on to his diet this past week and made breakthroughs with him, trained well with Katrina and got a good result and so she’s quite happy to stick with Shannan.

That just leaves Kerry, Craig and Sharon. Steve’s got a bond with the three of them so he’s looking to get them all through to finale.

One thing left to do, time to train!

Shannan says it’s time for the trainers to go head to head and it’s every man and woman for himself. Uhh.

Steve’s got his team tracking back and forth over the lawn after a huge rainstorm. Making a mess of the grass, getting mud all over themselves. What does Sharon see for herself in the future? Hot and sexy! Steve says his little pocket rocket is a little more black swan at the moment, covered in mud and muck.

Many grimaces on faces today, Steve notes, but they’re all carrying on with the workout.

As training wraps up Shannan trots up and proposes a showdown between the three teams. Three way tug of war? Lots of chuckling at that idea.

The rope is set up with the mid point hovering over the biggest puddle on the lawn. Shannan’s team loses the first time and Jane faceplants right in the middle, much to everyone’s amusement.

The second time Shannan’s trying to help his team and Steve notices, joining his team who quickly yank Shannan off his feet and right through the middle of the water and the mud. Michelle’s absolutely cacking herself in the background and says to us that it’s such a boy thing to get super competitive! Shannan declares it’s game on.

But it’s not because now they’re all covered in mud and a bunch of dudes in lovely looking tuxedoes come walking down the driveway with presents in their hands. Sharon’s very excited to see them all and after the men line up with their presents out she’s the one called up to go and open the first present. Shannan calls her over and she trots across to him then trots over to the men. The guy tells her to open the box and inside is a little slip of paper that says it’s makeover time! But that’s all she saw, have they seen her hair she asks.

Kevin’s excited because that was his goal for this season, get to makeover day.

The boxes also contain mirrors for all the contestants to have one final look at their old selves because tomorrow they’re getting a makeover.

Mish tells us every girl loves a makeover. Even Rodger!

Sharon shows off her legs in the little side interview-y bit, saying they’re looking a little hairy. Will it hurt to wax them, she wonders?

Next morning there’s a bunch of new people in the house. Makeover day has come to the house this time. Henry Roth (?) is there and introduces himself, then Katrina whispers “that is him!” and Henry laughs and says yes, that is him.

Henry’s got a huge crew of makeup and hair and clothing people there with him. He tells them that the clothes mean nothing unless they have passion, they’ve got to walk through the wall of fear holding them back.

Sharon’s not sure what they can do with her hair, Henry asks her what she’s hoping for. Blushing a bit she says she wants to look like a Sexy Mummy. Aww!

Kerry looks like a dinky-di Aussie, Henry says, does all this pampering worry him at all? Kerry says he was apprehensive at first but Henry’s mood is infectious. Have to say, Henry’s a very cheerful, friendly chap.

As a special surprise, Shannan tells us, they’re flying a bunch of Ararat folk up for the big night.

Quite a few really huge people on the plane. Pretty obvious the townsfolk have a ways to go.

Sharon’s first to head into the salon, she thinks they’re going to have a lot of work to do on her hair.

Rodger and Kerry are off for some skin treatments from two girls. Both look scared to death.

Toni’s off chatting with Henry in the clothing room. She’s lost quite a bit of weight and Henry’s very happy for her. The weight interfered with intimacy, Henry asks. And Toni says it has. Henry asks what her favourite colour is and she says red. Henry grabs a red coat and gets her to go try it on first. The coat doesn’t really fit but Henry’s more interested in seeing the colour on her.

Kerry and Rodger are laying back and getting goop smeared on their faces by the makeup ladies. One asks Rodger what he uses to cleanse his skin usually and he says, “Just a bit of soap, love.” Hah! Both Kerry and Rodger still have their beards. Not getting shaved?

Caitlin would love a new colour, a new look, something new.

Kevin’s having a sit down with Henry for a chat. Kev says he’s lost over 80kg and Henry’s gobsmacked. Henry asks what it was like and Kev says everything was harder for him, even just breathing, living in his own coffin basically.

He loves his partner, Julie, very much. But he was keeping her from the life she deserved. He says if he hadn’t had her in his life he probably would have just kept going the way he was going. Julie’s stuck by him through it all though and Kev says the next time he sees her he’ll be the lightest he’s ever been while being with her. Which is a huge deal for him. High five! So Julie’s the one, Henry asks? Kev says he sure hopes so.

Henry says he’s got a Romeo in front of him and so they’re going to go all out. Clean shave, makeup, a really nice outfit, dark because it’s flattering, maybe a spray tan, a light one. Clothing she’ll never have seen him in because he’s never been at that point before. Henry seems very excited for the whole thing.

Toni says the most exciting bit is the hair, for her. The makeup you take back off but the haircut stays. She usually just gets a bit of blonde put through her hair to fade the grey in a bit more elegantly.

Caitlin says it’s strange not being able to see yourself in a mirror while getting your hair done. Who knows what they’re doing back there. Henry asks how the stylist did what he’s done to Caitlin and can he do it to Henry too?

Caitlin’s hair is looking a very hot red, not sure what else has been done or what the effect will be when it’s around her face.

Toni likes having her makeup done because she loves people touching her gently, it’s a wonderful sensation she says.

Craig can’t believe he’s doing this and the makeup artist says it’s like he’s done this before. Craig insists he’s only done it before on Saturday nights. Hah!

Sharon’s not sure how long it’ll take to fix her face. But now it’s time to have a look at the change, if she’s ready? She says nope and Henry has a chuckle.

Sharon finally has a look and she has pretty but not overdone makeup and her hair is a nice honey blonde, not the idiotic bleached to shit “blonde” they usually inflict on Mums. Sharon tells us she’s never felt that pretty, not even on her wedding day. She’s got tears streaming from her eyes so I hope they’ve used waterproof mascara!

Time to put on the outfit and get ready for the runway.

Jane’s turn! She’s got a fair bit of red in her hair now and some nice makeup.

And then Caitlin’s turn. She has a lot more red, a lot brighter, and some darker red at the ends which looks amazing. That upper lip ring looks like shit still. But otherwise she looks quite pretty now!

Seems the catwalk is set up in the biggest loser house as well this year so all the Ararat folk have turned up and filed into the house to perve on the contestants. Cool.

Hayley’s looking fab as usual. She comes down the catwalk first to tell everyone the makeovers have been happening, thanks to Henry who stands up and gets some more applause.

Then the trainers come down the catwalk as well. Shannan’s in a blue jacket, Steve’s in a black button up shirt and Mish has tight blank pants, a black top with heaps of sparkly silver sequins on the front and a little bit of midriff showing.

The Ararat folk have been training hard at home and so have the contestants at the house. But they’ve been getting made over today and the trainers haven’t seen them. Last they did see them they were all covered in mud so they’re looking forward to this as much as the crowd.

First up is the pocket rocket Sharon. She looks like a proper classy hot Mum. She has a silvery sparkly short jacket over a cleavage baring black top and knee length black skirt. Sparkly silver heels but she’s still about two foot shorter than Steve!

Steve says she’s worked very hard to lose the weight and the results are great. Time to see her up on the big screen and Sharon has a bit of a giggle and covers up her cleavage for a second. Steve encourages her to wiggle around a bit, turn around and have a look.

Now somebody wants to see how she looks… it’s old Sharon! Old Sharon tells her to do a little spin and new Sharon obliges. Old Sharon says she doesn’t want her to go back to that, she’s done it now and so she doesn’t need old Sharon anymore. Bye.

One more surprise… It’s her kidlets and her husband, awwww! Big cuddles and kisses and more cuddles. Lots of squeeing from the audience too. Husband John says she looks beautiful, she looks so hot right now. And he’s so proud of her. The girls haven’t seen their Mum in a while and she looks pretty now. Time to go off stage and have a bit of family time.

Next up is a fierce contestant and a proud Ararat local. Say hello to the new Kerry “Stocky” Stockwell. So I guess he kind of grew into his nickname?

Kerry comes out cleanshaven and in a nice relaxed suit, no tie. He’s not been cleanshaven in 30 years, he says. There’s a little story behind the beard apparently. Kerry said he’d do away with the beard if the show would agree to put $5,000 in the town kitty and so Henry brought a cheque with him and thus the deal was struck. Great gesture!

Kerry sees himself in the screen and says he feels a bit naked, thirty years the beard has been there so it’s still a bit weird. Then old Kerry comes on the screen and tells himself to not ever go back to that size because everything hurts and is too hard.

Next up is Kerry’s wife, of course. Kerry whispers to Steve that he can’t wait to see this and Mish says she can’t wait for him to see it either.

Toni’s got dark brown and nicely styled hair now, it’s not all ratty and flying away. She’s in a simple striped dress with a bit of bracelet bling.

Kerry’s been astounded by what Toni’s achieved in training and she’s an inspiration for him, too.

Mish then ushers Kerry off the stage so Toni can have her time to look at her reflection. Toni’s blown away when she sees herself, a quick moment of celebration. Mish is obviously thrilled for her too, she’s looking a lot better, as is Kerry.

Next up is Kevin. He was the biggest contestant ever, in the history of the show, anywhere in the world.

Cue footage from back on Kevin’s first time on the show, including an awful bit where Kevin is sobbing while holding his Mum and can just choke out the words “Help me.” Damn, man. The new Kevin is such a huge improvement on the old one.

Kevin says his time on the outside was hard but he has an awesome support network and he made sure he was never going back to his old habits.

Time for Kevin to see himself on the big screen and he can’t help laugh at himself and says it’s a different person. Old Kevin is up on the screen now and he requests a spin from New Kevin. Old Kevin says to remember where he came from and does his own little spin.

Shannan then introduces two people who’ll be happy to continue kicking him in the backside to make sure he never falls back off the path. It’s his girlfriend and his Mum. Rosemary’s still fighting the good fight, Shannan says. Rosemary says she’s liking the changes in her own body so she’s got to keep it up. And she’s still giving Kevin a kick up the backside from time to time, much to Shannan’s approval. But she’s very proud of him.

Julie’s very impressed by his work ethic, he’s doing the impossible.

Then Kevin says if Shannan doesn’t mind, Kevin’s got something he’d like to do now. He pulls her to the end of the catwalk and says he’s made their lives hard but he’s on the way back, he’s trying to give them the life they deserve now. She makes him a better man and he loves her so very much, so… “Will you marry me?”

Next time we find out if she’s going to say yes? Fuck offfff.

The makeover special continues Friday night, ahead of a very messy, muddy challenge. And a new alliance rises that will ruffle a few feathers, Jane predicts.

But we have to wait till FRIDAY? Come on, guys.
