9×20 – BEST. WEIGH IN. EVER. Seriously. Mindblowing.

Previously on The Biggest Loser the competition went to single contestants at last. Then at a triathlon-like event Katrina won “golden immunity”, which is immunity she can use at any time between now and the final elimination.

Tonight someone’s going to gain weight at the weigh in. This late in the game. And it’s going to be a lot of weight, by the sounds of it. So someone’s been pigging out, perhaps?

But first, duckies on the pond! Hi duckies!

Steve’s got the boys for training today, Shannan has the girls. Steve says it’s time to zip their lips and get some work done. No more relying on other people, either. All down to their own efforts.

Craig’s struggling a bit during training, feeling a bit stiff and sore he says. Steve tells him it doesn’t matter, he’s got to keep going. Craig starts retching a bit at one point and Steve says he doesn’t care if Craig’s going to vomit, do it and keep going! Lovely, Steve, lovely.

Craig’s flipping a tire very slowly, then only lifting a weight halfway above his head, not extending his arms properly. Says it’s too hard. Steve suggests he goes and packs his bag to leave if it’s too hard!

Cal’s setting the pace in training, Steve’s telling everyone else to try and catch up to him but there’s little chance of that. Cal knows he has to work hard because going below the yellow line means a fifty-fifty chance of going home. Probably higher in your case, Cal. Don’t think people have forgotten your cash grab or your rudeness in challenges.

Kevin’s pushing hard in training because he knows that’s what needs to be done, which is riling Steve up some more at Craig who isn’t putting in as much work as Kev.

Cal gets in Craig’s ear to tell him to dig in and get the exercise done!

Shannan’s got all the girls in his indoor gym for a very special surprise. He tells them their minds need to catch up to their body, perception can be a dangerous thing. They’ve really changed so much and have probably avoided this sort of thing for a while. Shannan unveils a huge mirror for them all to have a look at themselves.

Sharon’s in tears, she doesn’t like what she sees. She still doesn’t think she looks any different.

Training today is going to involve the mirror. Spinbike set up in front of it so they can train in front of the mirror and acknowledge how far they’ve come. Katrina’s refusing to look at first but after some encouragement from Shannan she finally looks. Shannan tells us Katrina’s still very fragile on the inside. Katrina’s toughest part of the journey so far was the mirror shot on the first day, said it was even harder than childbirth.

Katrina says in the day one mirror that she knows she’s a good wife but Spanner has her up on a pedestal, “Here’s my beautiful wife”, but she doesn’t understand how he can say that. Ugh, women.

Shannan tells her she looks so much different. Even after asking her to list some of the differences in her face she says she still looks the same, same chubby cheeks. Shannan calls Sharon across to try and describe some changes for her.

Sharon says Katrina has a chin now and all the bits around the sides are much smaller now.

Shannan tells the girls they’ve got to feel good about themselves, they can smash the boys. Take them out! The girls admit there’s a bit of strategy going on, the girls have some kind of alliance going on.

Time for the very first singles weigh in. Oooh!

Katrina’s asked if she wants to use her golden immunity bracelet and she says… no! Katrina says she wants to pass on her own merits, not because of an immunity. Crazy, use it!

The yellow line makes it’s appearance on the scoreboard and Katrina’s a little shocked. What were you expecting?

Katrina’s going first since she chose not to use her immunity.

Katrina Previous: 114.3kg
Katrina Now: 112.7kg
Katrina Loss: 1.6kg
Katrina Percentage: 1.4%

Probably not enough on a normal week but with someone gaining…

Katrina was hoping for a larger loss but is fine with falling below the line if that’s what happens.

Next up, Jane!

Jane Previous: 104.6kg
Jane Now: 104kg
Jane Loss: 0.6kg
Jane Percentage: 0.57%

Pretty poor result and Jane says as much to us. Embarassing. She’s disappointed. She thought she’d worked hard but looking at the result, you wouldn’t know it.

Steve wants her to write down everything she eats in the coming week so they can troubleshoot the problem. Says if she hasn’t eaten enough she could be lacking energy and thus think she’s pushing hard, but she’s not. Or perhaps she ate things and forgot about eating them.

Jane says this is her last chance to make the change, it’ll be so easy to fall back into old habits when she goes back home. She wants to be happy all the time, not just some of the time.

Toni Previous: 104.9kg
Toni Now: 102.8kg
Toni Loss: 2.1kg
Toni Percentage: 2%

Top of the leaderboard and thus safe from elimination. She said they’d worked hard that week and she’d been worried by the low results of the other girls.

Things aren’t looking good for the girls, Shannan tells us, since all the big hitters were still to come.

Next up, Sharon!

Sharon Previous: 93.4kg
Sharon Now: 90.4kg
Sharon Loss: 3kg
Sharon Percentage: 3.21%

Sharon is stoked! As she should be, that’s a great result at this stage in the competition. Sharon says she’s there to lose weight and change her life, she has so much respect for herself now and if she doesn’t get it done then it’s not good enough. Sharon says she can’t see the changes in the mirror but she can obviously see them on the scales. She’s still chuffed back as she gets back to the others.

Katrina’s worried now because her and Jane are at the bottom of the list now and thus might both go below the line.

Kerry Previous: 115.4kg
Kerry Now: 112.1kg
Kerry Loss: 3.3kg
Kerry Percentage: 2.86%

Second place and safe from elimination once again. Kerry says look at Toni now, who would have thought you could improve on perfection!

Craig’s turn. He needs to lose at least 2.2kg to be guaranteed a spot above the yellow line…

Craig Previous: 154.5kg
Craig Now: 152.8kg
Craig Loss: 1.7kg
Craig Percentage: 1.1%

Well, that’s pretty abysmal. Especially after a small loss last week. He should have done much better. Fifth place at the moment with only Jane below him, very dangerous position to be in.

Craig keeps looking over at Cal and Steve asks him why. Craig says he thought he would have done better and Cal might have thought so too. Cal pushed him hard, he says. Steve asks Craig if he’s taking it seriously. Craig says he’s trying to get into the gym when he gets a chance. Shannan asks him what’s taking up his time, TV, meetings, media, something going on they don’t know about?

Craig says after the pyramid of fitness he was just hurting too much. He’s smiling a bit and Steve asks why, again. Craig’s not going back and going to the pub or anything like that, he’s changed. Steve tells him he’s got so much more weight to lose but he’s not losing anywhere near as much as he should.

Katrina then whispers to Sharon that she blames Cal for some of Craig’s poor result. Cal sits around and encourages “Boobs” to sit around with him, apparently. And Kevin, too. Only Cal and Kevin left to weigh in so one of them must be the gainer? Please don’t be Kevin! I was just starting to like him again!

Craig gets pressed some more on what’s been going on. Craig’s been sitting around, talking with others. Who was with him? Sometimes Cal, sometimes Kev. Craig’s not smiling anymore!

Kevin needs at least 2kg to stay safe.

Kevin Previous: 173.3kg
Kevin Now: 173.9kg
Kevin GAIN: 0.6kg
Kevin Percentage: +0.35%

Kev definitely facing elimination. Shannan’s first question is which diet is he following. Kev says it’s closer to Shannan’s but he’s not really following either. He’s doing it the same way he was doing it on the outside after being eliminated.

Shannan’s livid. Tells us there’s only two experts in the house and that’s Commando and himself. Shannan tells Kev that nobody has ever put weight on by following his diet in the house – EVER.

Steve thinks some of the contestants are lying to themselves about how much they’re eating. He’s pretty lean himself but he reckons he could lose 5kg himself.

Kev says he’s angry but instead of getting annoyed and frustrated at himself he’s just wanting to get back into the gym.

Last to weigh in is Cal. He needs a mere 0.7kg to stay safe, so he’s not concerned at all.

Cal Previous: 109.9kg
Cal Now: 111.2kg
Cal GAIN: 1.3kg
Cal Percentage: +1.18%

Cal is below the yellow line. Below even Kevin. Kevin’s result was atrocious by his own admission and Cal has done a LOT worse.

Kev can’t even watch, has to turn away.

Cal can’t explain it. He says he did sit around a bit, but he still did the same amount of work, followed the diet. Shannan’s pissed. Tells us it’s very disrespectful to him as a trainer.

Cal says he had a couple of sleepy mornings. Weekends, twice during the week. More than half the week, then?

Katrina’s upset too. Says she works very hard to get her small number and yet other people stuff around with it and get away with it. She worked hard and she wants to be there and she nearly had to face elimination anyway.

Shannan’s filthy, he says.

Biggest loser of the week is SHARON! Very well deserved, Hayley says.

Five hundred dollars per kilo would have been good but with two of them gaining weight they haven’t added a huge amount to the town kitty. $68,320 stuffed away now.

Sharon tells us she’s not really happy with the two boys taking money out of the kitty, especially as Cal already took $30,000 for himself.

Cal and Kevin will face elimination but surely – SURELY – Cal has to be eliminated. Yes, Kevin’s not from Ararat but Cal gained more than 1% of his weight back.

Shannan takes Cal aside after the weigh in to try and get to the bottom of it. Cal’s still stumped. He knows sleeping in isn’t great but he’s one of the last ones in the gym at night, too. Cal and Craig bring out the worst in each other, Shannan says, instead of the best.

If Cal survives, Shannan tells him it’s his way only. Up in the morning, 600 calories then, 600 calories at lunch with Shannan, then 600 at night.

But surely Cal won’t survive elimination. They can’t be that loyal to a townie.

Kev’s lost solid numbers every week but he isn’t from Ararat. Cal’s from Ararat but he’s also a huge threat in the game.

Cal thinks the town loyalty may not matter because Kevin could lose a lot more weight and earn a lot more money for the town.

Katrina’s nodding, agreeing that Kev has a lot to lose and Cal’s getting close to his goal weight. Cal promises to give 100% if he does stay.

Toni’s thinking about the $30,000 Cal’s already taken and the money taken out today for gaining weight. How much can the town afford to give him?

Cal says in all honesty if he was sitting up the other end and someone had put 1.3kg on he’d send them home if he had to vote.

Cal’s still not sure how he put the weight on. He’s been using a lot of oyster sauce on his chicken but he doesn’t think that can cause 1.3kg, Hayley also points out there might be a bit of complacency having the sleep ins.

Kev’s worried because apparently the others all love Cal and Cal pushes everyone in training. Kev’s got a long way to go still and he’s essentially lost a week. He’s set goals and now he’s going backwards which is clearly making him quite upset. He tells Katrina if he does stay on he’ll be doing Shannan’s diet 100%, he’s so disappointed he gained weight. He’s got a long way to go and has a lot of kilos still to lose.

Sharon says the town loyalty is something to consider. Craig’s best buddy is Cal, how tough’s it going to be? Very, it’s hard to choose between them.

Craig’s worried Cal won’t stay focused for the rest of the journey. Katrina points out again that if Cal hadn’t taken the $30,000 they’d be nearly at $100,000 to help the town. But Katrina also doesn’t want to send anyone home.

Time to write down your votes. Lots of anguish on all the faces as they scribble out their votes tonight.

If there’s three votes each it’ll be Cal sent home. That seems an unlikely result tonight though.

Sharon’s first to vote. She says one person’s nutrition has been way off and both of them probably aren’t working as hard as they think they are.

Kevin’s looking very worried but Sharon’s voted for Cal. Cal does not look happy at all!

Craig’s considered a few things. Who can commit to taking the lesson from today and what’s in his best interest for his focus on the competition.

After a lot of consideration he’s voting for Cal as well. OUCH.

Craig appears to be laughing but he’s laughing to hide the tears, he says.

One more vote and Cal goes home.

Jane says two good blokes are sitting up the other end and she appreciates what both have done for the contestants and the town and in the end she’s had to vote in the best interests of the town.

Jane’s voted for Cal, too. The relief on Kevin’s face is intense.

Cal’s heartbroken but at the same time he’d like to go see his family. He’d’ve liked to stay until the end but he’s going to go home and get them involved.

Cal’s lost over 20kg and is going home over $30,000 richer and Hayley says she’s really going to miss him. Awwww.

Seeya in Ararat!

Cal gets in the car and starts being driven off the grounds but a mysterious figure is blocking the driveway. It’s Michelle! She opens up the door and says g’day to Cal. Just got eliminated, huh? Cal says he’s just going home now. Mish says nah, that’s why she’s here.

Tomorrow night MISH IS BACK, BITCHES!!!

The red team enters the house and weighs back in. But there’s only two spots available so they’ll have to compete amongst themselves to claim a spot.

Challenges include some military training exercises that look like a bunch of fun! Except for one contestant who is going to fall by the wayside, according to Mr Voiceover Man. Sounds like Mary can’t hack the pace again but that could be trickery…
