9×14 – Caitlin Eats Glue

Previously on The Biggest Loser Katrina won letters from home for everyone and also a week away at The Golden Door resort for the blue team.

Tonight the trip to the resort goes pretty well… for a while. Then Natalie spits the dummy. At Camp Caitlin’s been porking out on something or other and Steve is disgusted. Then at the weigh in Shannon’s considering going home?

Steve turns up to the house to check in on his people now that blue’s on holiday from fat camp. Before training he gets Caitlin to weigh in on her personal scales she won at the weird auction thing.

Steve’s hoping Caitlin gets a good result today because if black fall below the line then he’ll finally have to lose a team member!

Meanwhile at The Golden Door “health retreat” the blue team is getting facials and massages. Kev’s getting a back massage but I’m not sure how that would work, aren’t all his muscles too far under his flab still? He seems to be enjoying it though!

Back at camp Steve’s taken his team into blue team’s gym. Naughty!

Caitlin first has to share the news that she’s gained 500 grams since last weigh in. Sharon tells us she knows they’re going to be paying for her weight gain today.

Caitlin’s pushing hard in training, but Steve reminds us she was the biggest loser last week. If she’s been training hard when he’s not there then it must be her nutrition letting her down.

What’s she eating on a daily basis? Chicken and an apple, she says. It’s the only things she likes on his diet, apparently. Steve’s not impressed, that’s not a sustainable diet he says.

And anyway, Steve knows you still can’t put on 500 grams if that’s all you’re eating. Caitlin confesses to a slice cheese. Craig asks how much cheese?

Caitlin’s come up with her own little snack, he tells us. Couple of slices of cheese in a cup, mixed with some vegemite after it’s been in the microwave. I like vegemite and cheese on toast, but by itself? Ew.

Why didn’t she tell Steve? Because he scares her! But he’s there to help her, Jane says. Steve says the only reason he comes down on her like a ton of bricks is when he has to poke and prod and dig to find out the truth.

Caitlin’s eating extra stuff outside the diet so she can push to 120, Steve says. Then 135 on the spin bike. She’s miraculously pushing well beyond her usual boundaries.

Steve’s hoping she’s pushed far enough today, but it’ll be up to the scales to decide.

And after an ad break it’s time for “Cooking with Commando!” He even sings it in a little tune. Adorable!

Steve’s getting Caitlin to demonstrate what she eats, particularly the cheese and vegemite thing. Caitlin takes two slices of what looks like tasty cheese? I don’t know, I’m not an expert and there’s no label on it, of course. Break the cheese up into pieces, take a dollop of vegemite and put it in there, then nuke it for 30 seconds. Stir it up when done and then eat!

Commando Salad time! The base of the Commando Salad is lettuce. Then cucumber, mushrooms, capsicum, tomatoes, chicken. Good, wholesome things. Cooking with Commando!

Caitlin likes the look of vegetables, she just doesn’t like the taste of them. Right there with you, Caitlin!

She’s having a hard time getting it down, trying to avoid bringing it back up all over Commando. Steve tells us he doesn’t care if she doesn’t like it, he just hopes it stops her putting on more weight before the weigh in.

At the health retreat it’s time for training. But first, homework! Who did it? Everyone but Natalie. She was up late and so she didn’t do it, has no excuse. Shannan says not getting up early enough is an excuse.

Natalie says she can’t do it at 5.30am, it makes her sick and it makes her sick all day. She says she makes up for it in the afternoon.

Shannan asks her how she adjusted if she went overseas. He tells us that nobody’s a morning person (I kind of suspect Michelle might be an exception to that rule!) you just get your backside out of bed and you get moving.

Natalie says she can’t physically do it and Shannan says she can! She’ll do it if he helps, which Shannan says of course he will. She’s not happy he’s treating her like a child but he says she’s acting like one!

Natalie then complains to us that he doesn’t get there till quarter to eight and you don’t want to wear yourself out before he gets there. I think you’re kind of missing the point of going to fat camp, Natalie. And if Shannan’s getting to Camp at quarter eight you can bet he was up and at it a lot earlier than that!

But after another ad break it’s time for the weigh in, woo! Surely blue can win at least one weigh in? They have Cal now!

Hayley says Cal wanted a facial, did he enjoy it? He says he did and Shannan says his skin looks so alive. Very amusing!

Cal has immunity thanks to the auction. Toni has a 500 gram weight advantage.

Steve’s a bit worried by Caitlin but he doesn’t let on, saying they all did very well.

Black weighs in first and Toni’s the first of them.

Toni Previous: 109.8kg
Toni Now: 107.1kg
Toni Loss: 2.7kg

After Advantage: 3.2kg

Not a bad result. She says she’s put in a lot more work this week and followed the diet a lot better. Her blood sugar’s been a lot better controlled as a result. She wasn’t getting below 9 in the past, then before dinner yesterday she was down to 3.6. Which I gather is good? She’s on medication to control her diabetes, so she’s hoping to reduce that a bit over time and maybe get rid of it eventually.

Kerry Previous: 122kg
Kerry Now: 118.8kg
Kerry Loss: 3.2kg

Same result as Toni… after Toni’s advantage! Kerry says the future looks good for him and Toni, Toni’s looking beautiful. Hayley asks if maybe the money, if they win, might go to a second honeymoon? Kerry says every day is a honeymoon with Toni. AWWW!

Sharon Previous: 97.8kg
Sharon Now: 95.6kg
Sharon Loss: 2.2kg

Craig Previous: 161.2kg
Craig Now: 156.4kg
Craig Loss: 4.8kg

Jane Previous: 107kg
Jane Now: 106.1kg
Jane Loss: 0.9kg

Poor result and she knows it. She was hoping for 2-3kg, she’d trained a lot harder than 0.9kg she had thought. She’s a bit disappointed in herself.

Caitlin Previous: 118.6kg
Caitlin Now: 116.8kg
Caitlin Loss: 1.8kg

Black Total: 16.1kg
Black Percentage: 2.25%

Both Caitlin and Steve are relieved Caitlin managed to lose some weight!

Blue will need at least 13.8kg to beat the black team. Cal and Kev might go close by themselves! Cal doesn’t think he’ll need his immunity.

But since he’s got it, he’s first.

Cal Previous: 117.4kg
Cal Now: 114.5kg
Cal Loss: 2.9kg

Kevin Previous: 180.6kg
Kevin Now: 177.2kg
Kevin Loss: 3.4kg

Well, those results aren’t going to get it done.

Shannon Previous: 87.7kg
Shannon Now: 86kg
Shannon Loss: 1.7kg

Total so far: 8kg

Shannon said it was good to hear from home and good that they want her to stay. But if they’d wanted her to come home that would have been an out for her. She loves her daughters and it’s been hard being away from them. Shannon says she knows Shannan doesn’t want to hear that she’s sort of thinking about going home. One of Shannon’s daughters has a birthday coming up, but Shannan says it’s not about getting her the best cake, getting their Mum back will be the best present.

Katrina Previous: 120.2kg
Katrina Now: 117.1kg
Katrina Loss: 3.1kg

Total so far: 11.1kg

Natalie’s going to be last to weigh in. She needs at least 2.7kg and she’s not enjoying the pressure. She tells Hayley that she’s worked relatively hard but she hasn’t been very well again this week…

Natalie Previous: 105.9kg
Natalie Now: 105kg
Natalie Loss: 0.9kg

Blue Total: 12kg
Blue Percentage: 1.96%

Blue is doomed, DOOMED I SAY!

Natalie says it’s still a loss and she’s not going to be disappointed by that.

Shannan decrees it’s being done his way this week. She’ll be up when the alarm goes off like everyone else. Natalie claims she was in the gym at 5 that morning but Jane mumbles that she wasn’t.

Natalie still wants to be there and she’s trying her hardest. Shannan calls out that she’s not doing it in the morning. Natalie says she’s trying, she’s not sitting on her arse all day she’s getting out and doing stuff. They’re trying to motivate her and they just get anger and frustration back from her. She’s still happy with the loss.

Shannan tells us they can see the anger and frustration on her face because her lack of work has been exposed.

Craig’s the biggest loser of the week, well done Craig!

28.1kg total loss this week, raising $8,430. $55,440 in total now!

So now blue has to face elimination and they can’t put Cal up because he has immunity. So it’ll be Kev and one of the girls, right?

Kevin points out, again, that the three girls aren’t ready to go home. He doesn’t want to go home but he knows they shouldn’t. So even though he was up before it looks like he’ll be throwing his hat in the ring again. Poor fella.

So after an ad break, who comes into the elimination room… Natalie and Shannon? Wow, didn’t see that coming. At least they’ve done the right thing by not making Kev go up every damn week.

Everyone’s sad the two Mums are up because they’re a big happy family in the house, game or not, Sharon says. It’s a hard decision.

How’d they decide to pick those two? Kev was up last week, Cal has immunity, Katrina lost a good number. Shannon’s doing it hard as is Natalie, so up they go.

Natalie says she still needs to be there. Shannon sort of wants to go home, she thinks she might have gotten as far as she can in the house. She’s not sure.

Sharon thinks Shannon’s not had her breakthrough yet, unlike Sharon. Craig says it’s a small price to pay, missing a couple of months and one birthday for all the many other birthdays to come.

Sharon asks if both feel like they’ve put in 100% this week, not just in training but in everything? Natalie says she’s put in 100% in every training session she’s done.

Jane says that on the scales Natalie said she was up at 5am, yet when Jane got up and left the bedroom at 5.15am Natalie was still there. Natalie says she’s sorry but she thought it was 5, she got straight up and out of bed. Not sure anyone believes you!

Toni’s torn, she can’t decide, she wants to make a fair decision.

Shannon says whatever they vote she’s looking forward to catching up with them all on the outside. Natalie says if they vote to send Shannon home, so be it, but if they vote Natalie herself out she’ll just have to bear it. Charming, throw Shannon right under that bus.

First to four votes will go home. If it’s a hung vote, three each, the lowest percentage goes home. This week that’s Natalie.

Sharon says it’s hard to pick between them because she’s a Mum too. They’re both amazing ladies, but she’s voted for Natalie.

Kerry tells whichever one is going home to keep at it on the outside, don’t waste what they’ve learned. He won’t be Mr Popular for this, but he’s voted for Natalie too. One more for Natalie will send her home.

Toni says it’s a supremely difficult choice and she hopes she’s made the right decision… ad break!

She’s gone with someone she thinks has a better support network back at home… she’s voted for Natalie, too. Natalie had guessed and said as much to Shannon. Shannon’s just sort of staring off into the distance.

Shannon’s touched they all have faith in her but I think it’s more they have no faith in Natalie! She’s going to try not to let them down. Natalie promises to get in touch with Scott (?) and tell him she’s fine.

Natalie says no hard feelings. Time to say goodbye, Natalie. Time to go get your arse beat by Michelle!

Caitlin tells her not to give up on the way out and Natalie says she won’t be allowed to. Oh how right you are!

Natalie says it’s been the best experience of her life and she’s sad to be leaving. She’d never have lost 12kg back at home.

Tomorrow night on The Biggest Loser Australia… THE FRIDGE!

Then a training session with a very special trainer, a former navy clearance diver who was attacked by a shark and now has an artificial leg and an artifical arm! Doesn’t seem to be slowing him down any, that’s for sure.

Then a weigh in back at Ararat for the whole town, with Hayley saying they’re at the halfway mark. Really? How many more weeks to goooo?
