8×32 – Train the Trainers!

Previously on The Biggest Loser everyone was in New Zealand! Richard and Amber won a ticket straight to the finale and Janet and Kirsten have a one kilogram penalty for the final weigh in.

Tonight the final four teams return to train a bunch of schoolkids. And then train their trainers. Payback’s a bitch! And then a surprise photoshoot. Going to get all glammed up again and have some fancy pictures taken by a fancy photographer. Fancy!

The final four return to Camp Biggest Loser only to find the trainers in workout gear waiting for them. Shannan welcomes them back and then says it wouldn’t be Biggest Loser without a surprise for them. Janet was hoping for at least a chance to breathe. Nope!

Time to pay back the community who’ve supported them these past few weeks. Out the back of the house is 350 school kids and their teachers and the contestants will be training them!

Katie’s worried about it being schoolkids because there was a lot of judgement of her only a year ago in school. Todd’s a bit nervous too because he’s still in school, of course.

Steve tells them to inspire the schoolkids first and then smash them in training. Just realised all the kids will have to go home afterwards on the same buses. Good god that’s going to pong.

Steve takes us back to day one where Katie was a total introvert. Now on stage she’s a lot more confident, still a little shy, but she’s looking to inspire people.

Amber tells everyone to do some squats, Richard shows them how not to do one. Don’t go down halfway, that’s going to the toilet in the bush. Gotta go all the way down and then up and jump and clap their hands above their heads.

Janet’s calling out instructions to the kids while Mish and Kirsten demonstrate the various exercises. Kirsten’s having a giggle at some of the kids who are already struggling a bit.

Todd’s having some trouble with being in front of a bunch of kids of his age group. But facing his fears in New Zealand has helped him a lot. Todd recalls being bullied in school and going home and eating lots of junk with his Dad and that’s how he got so fat. But now he’s looking forward to going home, hanging out with his mates, riding his bike and just being a normal fifteen year old kid. Going by the adoring gazes some of the girls are shooting his way he’s going to do alright when he goes home!

Some shadow boxing training with the boys. One of the student girls says it’s good motivation seeing Todd doing all this at his age. One of the others says it was a hard workout, was very sweaty by the end.

The contestants wander into the dining area the next day and the trainers are made of cardboard and have team coloured shirts on. There’s a letter stuck to Mish’s hand and it announces it’s train the trainers day.

And then Richard has the bright idea of vandalising the trainer cutouts before they go off to organise their training schedules.

Commando Steve’s the best, has pink lipstick, eyeliner and big eyelashes and a heart shaped ear piercing. Shannan has a curly moustache. Mish has a monobrow!

Then the contestants pop up and they’re dressed like their respective trainers so the trainers all know what’s coming.

Richard’s doing a pretty good Steve impression, telling them they’re about to get served everything they’ve taught them in the past few weeks.

Mish is asked if she can handle it and Mish reckons she can. Amber’s not so sure!

First up it’s Michelle on the rowing machine in her low cut top. Not sure whether I can look at the cleavage, so many muscles! Scary fit lady!

Janet says Michelle’s made her collapse and throw up at various times so she’s hoping to get the same out of Michelle today. And the taunting starts early with Janet asking Michelle if she wants to go down Pussy Way or Man Up Road and Mish picks Man Up Road, of course. After Mish collapses after some box jumps and weight lifts to catch her breath, Kirsten says when she thinks she’s gassed, she can still give more.

Mish says they’re busting her balls. But they’re not done yet! They’ve got a weight vest with the girls’ average weight loss, 25.6kg, loaded inside. Mish says it feels heavy. Janet tells us it was agony when she tried on her own weight vest.

You can be scared of an earthquake or cancer, a workout? Nooooo!

After the cross trainer Michelle falls back off it and bumps her head a bit on the way down, but she’s fine. Then she says they’re bitches. She doesn’t care if they go to finale. Put weight on for all she cares! Lots of girly giggles from all three. Mish tells us she feels fantastic afterwards because it was a hell of a training session and her girls put it together, so she’s proud. And knackered!

Commando Steve’s turn! He’s expecting some serious punishment today and he’s sort of looking forward, in some sick way he says.

Steve’s warmup is a 22.5kg dumbbell in each hand while he runs circles in the sand. Then some rope whips. Then some rolls from end to end in the sand. Steve just wants to prove that he’s willing to do everything they throw at him.

Commando Steve finally takes his tank top off and splashes some water over himself. All the girls are gaga for Commando. So King Richard’s had to take over the primary training.

Steve’s starting to feel the burn a bit and Richard asks him if he wants to retire and Steve says nope. Good, because these tires are in the wrong spot! Move them to the other end of the sandpit! So Steve’s picking them up and over his neck, even though they’ve got some water in them still. Katie says it’s like a hairless bear or something.

Steve catches his breath and then it’s time for stage two. Stage two is at the stinky duck lake. But it doesn’t bother Commando Steve so Robyn’s a little disappointed. Steve’s feeling a little wrecked afterwards but he’s still thrilled with the workout they’ve put him through.

Time for Shannan’s workout. His goal will be to break all the records in the house. First one is 5 minutes on the treadmill at 20km/hr. Gerald reminds Shannan about being a role model for his boy. If he feels like slowing down, just remember, role model!

Next up, rowing machine. Shannan realises they’ve worked out how to really whoop him.

But it’s not over. 5km on the spinbike. They’re a bit worried he might puke after that. Shannan is hoping it might be over, too.

But no! Todd has one more thing for him. Death by squats! Shannan barely manages to say far out, but I’m sure he wanted another f-word!

Death by squats, if you have forgotten, is doing a squat in 30 seconds, next interval you have to do 2 squats, then 3 squats in the next interval, etc.

Shannan’s legs are knackered but he’s determined not to let it beat him. And he manages to equal Todd’s record but he’s looking pretty damn buggered afterwards.

The contestants have had their fun and now it’s time for the contestants to get smashed in return. Time for some fun – gladiator style. There’s a bridge built over the lake and some gladiator style sticks to beat each other with. And first on will be Richard. Michelle wishes she could go against him herself but she decided to send in Commando Steve instead. Steve’s looking forward to that!

Time for the dethroning of King Richard, Shannan asks? Richard suggests maybe it’s the undoing of Commando. He tells us he’s hoping that having just smashed him in training he might stand a chance.

In the first joust they both go into the water around the same time, mostly as Richard half dragged Steve down with him. Steve gets back on the pontoon but his singlet’s been ripped. It’s his favourite one, he says. So now Richard will pay for it. Oddly enough Steve already had his microphone taped to his chest, guess the producers know what he’s like!

And then Richard takes his shirt off too. Ewww. That’s quite a bit of loose skin. Richard tries prodding Steve in the chest with his stick and then Richard tries to tackle Steve who easily tosses him aside and into the water. Hilarious!

That night they’re all in the lounge as the trainers come in. Shannan’s limping a little, poor bugger.

Shannan says everything they do at Camp has a reason. Was lots of things to remind them of their old lives and why it’s important not to go back to their old habits.

Time for some new photos to be taken to replace the old ones they saw before, the ones where they were super fat or where things had gone wrong.

Janet and Kirsten are dolled up in dresses and are having their photos taken in front of a swimming pool near the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Lots of silly girly poses and so on.

Gerald and Todd are having pictures taken in a legit boxing gym, some mock sparring shots and holding each other’s hands up like they’re champs, etc.

Richard and Amber are having their pictures taken on a beach. Amber says any time she gets dolled up she’s going to glam it up, Beyonce style. Richard thinks she’ll be smoking up the catwalk.

Robyn and Katie are having their pictures taken in front of a cannon. Boom! Katie’s in camoflage overalls while Robyn’s just in a blue dress. Katie looks like an idiot in makeup while doing Army poses and shit. Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous.

After an ad break the trainers are leading everyone to go look at their new pictures. They’re back underneath the AMP building that some of them abseiled off, way back in the show. Janet feels that was her real turning point. She loved the wall, it worked for her.

The wall will be the canvas for their photographs, Steve says. They’re going to project the photos up on the wall.

First up on the wall is Robyn and Katie. But before the pictures, time to depress them by seeing their audition interviews again.

Lots of tears in the interview, just hugs in the real world. Robyn remembers feeling like such a failure back then. They were broken and it was a mess that was starting to eat into the rest of the family.

Their picture finally shows up on the wall and Robyn’s chuffed, getting a big genuine hug from her daughter who’s beaming down at them. Katie then breaks and says thanks to Commando and trots over to give him a big hug. Awww!

Next up, Richard and Amber. They auditioned in separate states, apparently. And while Amber’s still quite fat in the face, seeing her face in the audition tapes really shows she’s actually come a long, long way. Richard says it’s the first time he’d heard some of the things in Amber’s audition tape, but it’s reassuring they’re standing there now as very different people.

New picture goes up on the wall and they both love it. Amber looks pretty, she says, and Richard says it’s the nicest photo of her he’s had, ever.

Kirsten and Janet! Kirsten’s very, very emotional in the tape, though Janet not so much. Kirsten’s still not sure why she let herself get like that. Janet says it’s distressing seeing her so sad and not being able to do anything about it. Kirsten says she’s proud of the progress she’s made but she’s still nervous to see the photograph because she’s never seen one of herself she’s liked.

After an ad break the picture goes up and Kirsten loves it, Mish says she’s looking smoking hot! Janet tells us she looks like a model. Awww!

Gerald and Todd’s turn now. Gawd, Todd was so fat! As was Gerald, of course, but he’s still a bit heavy. Todd just looks like a fit young lad, now. Gerald had given up, he says. But he hadn’t given up on Todd. He was determined on ensuring Todd would get through and lose the weight on the show.

Todd says he’s looking good but he’s more impressed by his Dad, he’s looking so much happier.

Todd tells us they’ve already won, he doesn’t care about the money as he just wanted to change his life and they’ve done that now.

Later that night they’re sitting around chatting about how much fun they had with the photography session and seeing the big pictures.

And then Commando Steve comes in hollering through a megaphone at them to get up, they’re not done here yet. Time for the very last Last Chance Training!

They’re off to a rock quarry set up with hoses to make the training as tough as possible…

… tomorrow night! Also tomorrow night, has King Dick finally decided to screw over his orange “allies”? We may find out. Richard and Amber are safe from elimination this week and they might choose to dump out a major threat, if they get the chance…
