8×19 – Contestants return from being home and thus away
Previously on The Biggest Loser… Oh yeah! Half the contestants went home for the rest of the week thanks to the “power” of The Fridge.
And Amber whined about it SO DAMN MUCH. Anita went to hospital after an incident during training. We haven’t discovered what happened to her yet. Maybe tonight?
Tonight! Richard’s going to call Amber lazy which has probably been a long time coming. There’ll be a weigh in and an elimination, probably. With Anita’s injury it’s possible she’ll just be sent home with Cher and that’ll be counted as the elimination for the week.
Mish is the first trainer for Last Chance. It’s Richard and Katie with her and they don’t know what’s going on with their partners at home. But Mish is sure these two are willing to do the work. Michelle then points to some logs on the ground and tells her contestants she’s going to beat them with the logs. She cackles evilly.
Of course she isn’t really going to. They’re going to lug them around the park, along with “Big Bertha” as Richard calls it. A massive chunky rope they have to lug between the two of them. Along with lots of sprints!
Shannan’s looking to smash Brett and Gerald in Last Chance as well. Shannan tells them there was only 250 grams separating a team from being below the yellow line last week so they need to be sure they’ve done everything they can.
Brett’s arm is still wrapped up, of course, though he’s working his legs hard on the cross trainer. Shannan’s pleased with Brett’s progress since day one. He was whinging and moaning at the start and even had a physical confrontation with Shannan during the half-ass marathon. But now he’s just smashing out the exercise.
Meanwhile back at the park Michelle’s getting a wheelbarrow ride from Richard. She’s pushing him hard today because he’s getting very fit now. At one point she’s standing in front of him as he runs with a sandbag and pushing him back a bit. Then on the way back she tries to block him again and in the end he just picks her up and throws her over his shoulder. Mish laughs and says if it makes him work harder she’ll go with it! Richard was frustrated last training session because he can see Amber’s not putting in the effort she needs to. And Richard’s realised that if Amber can’t do it at Camp Biggest Loser then how will she when she’s at home?
Michelle wants him to fire up if Amber’s not done the work she needs to. She tells him he might have to grow a pair when it comes to his daughter. Mish tells us they’ve always had a friendship, not a father-daughter relationship. And she’s always giving him crap, swearing at him and treats him poorly. She’s 20 now, if her Dad can’t pull her attitude in line, who will? It’s spoiling her, Mish says.
Next stop, weigh in. And the scales will tell the truth, Mish reminds us.
After an ad break Anita is back at the house! Shannan checks in with her first. Apparently she was in intense pain and was vomiting when taken to hospital, says Shannan. How’s she feeling now? “Heaps better!”
So what happened? She felt like someone stabbed her. Shannan says it’s not a gall bladder problem, not her liver, just a “muscular-skeletal injury” they can work through. But no last chance training, the doc said. Which is going to be rough since Cher’s at home and probably not working hard enough.
Cher’s last chance training on the outside looks to be just arms. But she’s getting to do it with her boyfriend which she says is making it a lot of fun. It’s good to be able to share it with him. Then some pushups, squats and so on. She says she can feel her six pack forming already.
Yeahhh. Nahhhh.
Robyn has had a nice time at home.
Amber reckons her Dad won’t have been doing enough training while she’s been gone. Are you fucking kidding me? At least she knows she hasn’t done enough training. She thinks if she fails her Dad will carry them through. We’ll see!
It’s weigh in time!
Mixture of nerves and confidence from everyone this week. Brett knows he’s done everything he can but most of the rest are concerned about their partners efforts without the trainers.
Richard’s trying to keep the faith in his daughter but… that’s probably not going to make her lose more weight!
Cher’s happy when all the contestants come in to the weigh in room because she finally gets to see her Mum and see she’s okay.
Robyn and Katie have a 1kg weight advantage thanks to the challenge this week.
Amber reckons her food and exercise were pretty good on the outside, not as good as on the inside because there’s distractions out there. Richard and Mish both have dubiousface! Todd trained two or three times a day so he’s pretty confident.
Well, they can go first then!
Gerald: 123.5kg 2.3kg Todd: 88.4kg 1.9kg Total: 4.2kg 1.94%
Hmmm, might be a bit low. Could be in trouble. Gerald’s looking a bit disappointed. He says he put in a lot of effort this week. Everyone knows it’s a game so you never know who might go home.
Mandy’s hoping for 2.2kg to get under the 90kg mark. She’s not been under that since she had Brett 24 years ago. She’s feeling fairly confident though.
Mandy: 90.9kg 1.2kg Brett: 148.8kg 3.1kg Total: 4.3kg 1.76%
Oh dear, second place already. Mandy’s very disappointed, she thought she’d get 2.2kg and she knows 1.2kg should make her happy. But she feels like she failed. Even though she hasn’t, Mish asks? Yes, even though she hasn’t. It wasn’t what she was aiming for. Mish says it’s a good thing, it’s the first time Mish has seen Mandy a bit fired up!
Robyn: 86.8kg 2.8kg Katie: 108.5kg 2.4kg Total: 5.2kg, 6.2kg after advantage. 3.09%
First place! Katie says they’re going to get The Fridge again. Getting a bit ahead of yourself there… Robyn says they wouldn’t’ve needed the advantage. Katie’s dancing because she’s under 110kg!
You’re still over 100kg!
Richard and Amber need at least 4.2kg to stay safe. Amber’s very excited, seems very confident. Richard looks worried. As he should, he’s unlikely to have done 4.2kg by himself! Amber says what’s done is done, can’t change it now.
Richard: 113kg 2.9kg Amber: 95.6kg 2.1kg Total: 5kg 2.34%
Second place and safe from elimination. Michelle looks annoyed! Probably because Amber lazed her way to that. And now Mandy and Brett are below the line. Aww.
Amber puts her loss down to her good eating at home. She focused on that a lot because she knew she wouldn’t have time to go to the gym. What? You’re still on the show, you don’t have to go back to work or anything. Make time! Amber says her family all came around and it became quite overwhelming.
Amber wasn’t keen to do the bike challenge and she says she looked at it as five hours of wasted time. Michelle (and me!) roll eyes massively. It’s five hours of exercise you silly bitch! Richard is happy she managed to lose weight. It wasn’t just about going home for a week, it was a challenge. And when they’re at Camp and she brings a book to training? That’s not working out.
Amber sighs loudly and says she does that once a day. Richard points out she only trains twice a day. And Amber says she doesn’t. Richard insists. Says if it looks like a duck and waddles like a duck, it’s a duck. She’s been lazy most of her adult life and that’s why they’re there, him as well. They’re in the top four now and if they want to be top three they need to work harder, Richard says. Amber starts to say something about not being in a good headspace or something but Commando Steve interrupts to say they’ve seen she’s changed since coming to Camp but it’s time to go to the next level.
Amber complains she’s only been back five minutes, give her a chance! Mish says no, she had a chance at home! Amber says it’s not like she didn’t work out at all! Mish says she has a chance every day she’s in there, going into the gym with a book isn’t going to cut it. And if she’s expecting sympathy from Michelle she won’t get it! Amber wasn’t expecting sympathy from her and she doesn’t want it from anyone. She came back in a good headspace and was ready to go back and smash it, she had a game plan she was going to set out for her Dad…
Steve asks her what the game plan is then? She has no real answer. Steve asks if she did last chance training. She mumbles on about something else and Mish asks Steve to ask it again. She worked out in the morning, she says, but not last chance. Because she was offered a half hour and it takes her a half hour to get to her gym. Mish asks her if she’s listening to herself right now? And Amber just stares and says, “What?”
You don’t need a gym to work out! Have they taught you nothing?
We go to an ad break with Amber walking out saying she’s leaving now. Michelle facepalms.
Amber and Richard are chatting after the ad break. Well, arguing is more like it. Amber says she’s annoyed that he can’t see the changes she’s making. He says he does see them. Amber says his support doesn’t outweigh all the criticisms and things she’s doing wrong.
Richard says he’s trying to talk to her but she shuts him down and cries and gets upset with him. Of course she’s allowed to get upset but they need to sit down and have a conversation. “I am a human being!” Amber wants to go home again now. She doesn’t care that she lost 2kg. Mish has come out to check on them now.
Mish asks her why she’s playing the victim? Amber says she isn’t, she got up and lost 2kg and all she heard was criticism from her Dad. Which is untrue! He said it was good she’d lost the weight. Mish suggests she’s upset because her Dad wants her to be accountable for her actions. Amber thinks she has been accountable. Mish asks her if she even wants this? Amber says yes and she was so excited to be back and ready to show them how different she was. But now what’s the point?
Mish says she’s being ridiculous now and Mish almost walks away at that point. Mish says she’s upset because Amber didn’t do the work she should’ve at home. By her own admission she didn’t, didn’t do last chance training, didn’t want to do the bike challenge. She’d apparently made plans to take her Mum and sister to the gym. Really? When they didn’t know you’d be home? Surely they could have rescheduled you twat!
Amber realises all these things now, she claims. Mish tells us Amber’s got an answer for everything and will argue and fight and fight and fight. Won’t listen to anyone, not even reason. Good luck Richard!
Richard’s getting fed up. Tells her to get on board and grow up, stop sooking all the time. He’s not being nasty, he’s trying to make her realise she’s got more in her. Amber says she was going to this week. But they’ve been there six weeks, Richard says. Now she wants to finally put the effort in? Richard says she’s been giving 80-90% effort the entire time which is pretty fucking generous of him. I’d say 40-50% at best!
Richard’s not taking her crap anymore, it seems. But they’re safe at least!
Anita and Cher will need to lose 5kg to stay safe. Cher should still be capable of that mostly by herself, simply through diet. Anita’s spent a night in hospital but she’s worked out hard otherwise. So she’s a little concerned.
Anita: 99.8kg 1.2kg Cher: 152kg 2.4kg Total: 3.6kg 1.41%
Cher says she loves being under the yellow line, quite sarcastically. Hey, maybe it’s time to put in some fucking work? At least Anita cracked the 100kg mark, though she’s still a bit disappointed in her result. Cher says she’s a bit disappointed though she worked hard at home.
Steve quizzes her about her losses in the previous two weeks. They’re similar to her number this week so she mustn’t be working hard enough at Camp. So work harder, Steve says! Anita reckons her and Cher both want to be there more than anything but it’s only just clicked for Cher that she really, really needs it.
Robyn and Katie are the biggest losers of the week, again. And Anita and Cher, Mandy and Brett will face elimination. And for the first time both members of each team will be in the elimination room to vote. Probably because there’s room for them all now!
Todd looks very concerned. He’s ducked it so far thanks to Gerald taking the hit each week before.
Brett confesses he’ll be annoyed if he has to leave today while Anita and Cher get saved again. But he knows him and his Mum are probably the bigger threat…
After an ad break Hayley says each contestant will get to vote, not just one vote per pair. And they’ve split them up. Orange, Blue, Green. Orange, Blue, Green.
Todd’s right on the end. He says it’s hard for him because he likes both teams. One of them is his “Mum” and Brett’s his mate, always wanting to play basketball.
Katie’s talking strategy. Like always. Amber’s right on the same wavelength, talking strategy first but then also says maybe a team has been coasting by each week…
Robyn is asked how many chances yellow deserve? She doesn’t feel like they’re doing everything they can. She’s had a chat with Anita about Cher. Anita’s doing a great job but she thinks maybe Cher’s a victim of her age group, just not getting it. Cher’s shaking her head. Robyn’s worried that Cher will just keep plodding along doing what she’s always done. Cher says Robyn might be right, it’s the third time they’ve been there. But it doesn’t feel like she’s moseying along, she feels like she’s putting in the effort when she’s training. She doesn’t know what else to say to prove she’s fighting to stay in.
Brett’s hoping yellow’s chances have run out. He figures that’s their only real chance. It’s yellow’s third time there so something just isn’t clicking for them, he says. But Brett and Mandy are ready to keep going. Mandy knows they’re a threat and Brett says he knows it. He won’t hold any grudges if that’s what it comes down to, but he’ll be disappointed.
Richard says it’s an opportunity to take out one of the strongest competitors in the game. Brett’s a big boy and a big threat.
Time to vote!
First team to four votes will be eliminated. In the event of a tie Anita and Cher would be sent home though we don’t hear Hayley say that.
Robyn says strategy isn’t always about which team is strongest, it can also be which team has the right attitude, the people in the same mindset as her and her daughter. So she’s voted for Anita and Cher.
Richard says Brett is a big threat. If he wants to be the best he’s got to beat the best, and Richard likes that about him. Anita and Cher don’t push him like that. So he’s also voted Anita and Cher! Wow, did not expect him to go that way at all.
Hayley then points out the lowest percentage thing. Bit late, lady!
Gerald likes being on the trip, doesn’t want to go home yet. The team he’s voted for is the biggest threat. Can they let someone stay and potentially lose a lot of weight and not get to vote them out?
So Gerald’s voted for Anita and Cher. HA!
That means they’ve been eliminated because the most Brett and Mandy could get is three votes which would only tie the result.
Well, that’s been coming for a while. Anita and Cher have struggled from the start in week two.
Anita was surprised by Gerald’s vote. They’d formed a good friendship. Gerald says they’ll always be friends! Anita wanted to stay for Cher more than anything. Cher needs to want it, needs to want to save her life. They’ve learnt a lot and now it’s time to take those lessons home and change their lives.
Cher says Anita’s got every reason to be worried. She knows she didn’t stack on the weight from exercise and good nutrition. Gerald pips in to say he’s scared of her, he’s sure she’s got it in her to lose every bit of that weight. Todd says to go home feeling positive, stick with it!
And remember, Anita and Cher aren’t out for good just yet. There’s a second chance still to come…
Tomorrow night! They’re baaaaa-aaaaaack! Time to dethrone the King, the eliminated contestants reckon. King Richard’s reign may soon end.
… or probably not, they did all get eliminated for not losing the weight, after all. Not like previous years where people have been sent home for other reasons!
Which of the eliminated team/s do people think will win their way back into the house? Sound off in the comments below!
