8×16 – You are part of the Fatty Alliance and a traitor!
Previously on The Biggest Loser it was kids versus parents all week and the parents thrashed the kids every time so this was an experiment totally worth doing!
Tonight it’s Last Chance Training time. Lots of fun, lots of sweat, lots of tears. Then the weigh in and there’s drama there, too. Talk of maybe an alliance or just general discontent amongst the teams? Guess we’ll have to keep going to find out…
Commando Steve has the parents for Last Chance and… Chris isn’t there. Because he lost a toenail at the challenge. So he’s out of training for 24-48 hours Richard says. So who else trained? Only Robyn put her hand up and she only trained for 30 minutes. Mandy had panadeine the night before and was told to rest until the session with the trainer. Richard was stuffed after the challenge. Gerald was stuffed, had a soreness running down to his right foot. Anita, at least, confesses she has no excuse!
Most of the kids didn’t train either. Amber says she needed to catch up on sleep. Shannan’s disappointed!
Steve’s telling the parents that when they voice the excuses it becomes obvious how weak those excuses are.
Shannan wants the kids to show him they can be self motivated to train hard and fast. But clearly they can’t, you’ve got to be there Shannan!
Mark’s doing a bicycle thing with his arms only as his right leg is very heavily strapped.
Katie was the only one up and training which she says is because of how close they were to being sent home at the last elimination. She says it was the closest she’s ever come to a panic attack. Because she still has no fucking clue. Has she done enough to stay this time, Shannan asks? Katie says she’s done a minimum of 1200 calories burned a day in exercise and she’s aiming for 3kg loss this week, which is ambitious but doable.
Robyn’s still not sure what went wrong last week. She thought she’d worked harder than ever, exercised a lot and eaten all the right stuff. She tells us that sometimes you can do everything right but not lose a lot of weight and you’ve got to learn to deal with it. Robyn says she let it get to her a bit early in the week but she thinks Katie has had her “A-ha!” moment. Robyn tells us she’s looking forward to the weigh in like she’d be looking forward to a brazilian. She’d rather a brazilian. And she’s never had one!
Ewwwww. Too much information, Robyn!
Anita says Cher’s been stepping up the intensity this week, despite her “injury”. Those are my quotes. Anita is presently lifting dumbbells up over her head. Cher tells Shannan she’s done enough to stay safe this week. But she’d be happy with just 100grams more than her Mum.
Shannan tells them to look at the winners up around them on the wall with pictures of Emma, Bob and Alison shown.
Cher’s knackered after her workout but tells Shannan she doesn’t want to go home. Shannan says she’s given 100% this week, taking the bad hip out of the equation, she’s given 100% and he’s thrilled.
Steve tells the parents that competition is healthy, though it doesn’t always feel that great at the time. It builds resolve!
Then Anita starts crying. She’s having a bad day, Richard says as Steve chases after her as she wanders off for a cry.
Anita’s not looking forward to weighing in because she knows it’s a competition but she doesn’t want to go home and she doesn’t want Cher to go home. Steve tells her that people have their ups and downs, have some bad weeks, you’ve just got to grit your teeth and get on with it.
Mandy’s providing cups of beverage things to Richard and Robyn and discussing the weigh ins. Mandy thinks the other two are playing the game but she doesn’t know if there’s things going on she’s unaware of. Richard tells us they’ve got alliances with different contestants and some with people without other alliances being aware of it. Robyn basically confirms much the same thing, she has to do what she can to keep Katie there.
Mandy says she can see the benefits in an alliance, but she has her own morals and would have to be talked around.
Chris and Mark are having a chat, too. Chris is sure the other teams are moving to oust them next and as the less liked of the two remaining all-male team, he’s probably right! Chris doesn’t mind if people are voting for themselves, it’s an issue when they start recruiting others to the cause. He says Richard came into the show with two chins and now he has two faces. SICK BURN, BRO. Mark thinks it’s mostly two of the parents forming the alliances but Chris thinks Amber’s playing the game, too. Especially after taking and winning at Temptation.
But Mark’s not too worried because he’s sure they’ll be above the Yellow Line anyway. We’ll see!
Richard and Amber have Immunity so going into the weigh in room they’re quite happy.
Until Hayley says it’ll be a weigh in with a twist! They’ve been weighing in as teams previously but in keeping with the week’s theme they’ll be weighed in sort of separately. Only the weightloss of either parent or child will count for the leaderboard. They’ll get to choose whether it’s the parent or child’s result that will be counted. But to keep things interesting, they’ll have to select their representative before getting on the scales.
Well, that’s a clear advantage for the teams that still have men in them. Particularly in light of the lackluster performances of many of the women!
Michelle points out that because they’ve been training separately all week they’re not all entirely sure who’s really been putting in the work. So cracks are starting to form.
Amber says it hasn’t been her best week. Katie’s freaking out as usual. Robyn says Katie doesn’t cope well with pressure, which will surely help in her quest to become an army lady! Gerald’s trying to get Todd to choose but he’s reluctant. Anita tells Cher that she wants Cher to have the greater loss, but realistically she’s had an injury and so might not have lost as much. Cher points out that Anita had a good loss last week and Anita says she’s worried it’ll be a small loss this week as a result.
Richard and Amber are up first and Richard’s weight will be counted.
Richard: 115.9kg 3.1kg Amber: 97.7kg 1.8kg “Total”: 3.1kg 2.61%
Richard’s quite happy with that! He says he was happy to get Immunity. He says half the point is doing what you need to to stay in the game and the other half is losing the weight. So yes, he’s absolutely playing the game!
Katie’s going to step up for the orange ladies. Interesting. She should lose more but will she have pulled her finger out?
Robyn: 89.6kg 4.5kg Katie: 110.9kg 4.5kg “Total”: 4.5kg 3.9%
They’d’ve done better picking Robyn but that should still be good enough! Katie’s proud of herself this week!
Brett will be repping for grey.
Mandy: 92.1kg 2.4kg Brett: 151.9kg 3.2kg “Total”: 3.2kg 2.06%
Third place! Brett’s happy he got a decent loss though disappointed in the percentage. He’s worried because the field is so small now. Brett’s Dad will be his biggest supporter when he gets home, Shannan tells him. Brett’s Dad is a personal trainer (!!!) so sport is a big thing for the family. Brett says he’s been stupid to get so big, which is disappointing. Brett says everything they do is sports related and he’d like to be more active and enjoy it with his Dad.
Chris and Mark are up next and they’ve picked Chris since he’s the lighter of the two.
Chris: 126.9kg 2.4kg Mark: 132kg 2.7kg “Total”: 2.4kg 1.86%
Fourth place, just above the Yellow Line. Amber’s pretty much chortling while watching. Disgusting. Chris is disappointed because he feels like he worked harder than that. Mark says it’s been made clear if they’re below the line they’ll be going home. Shannan asks if there’s alliances, then? Mark says he wouldn’t say that. But Chris would! Katie rolls her eyes.
Yes, people often don’t like to be called on their shitty behaviour.
Chris says Richard and Amber can’t wait to get rid of them and they’ve recruited Robyn and Katie. Richard says, “Attitude and accountability, that’s what it is.” The hell does that mean?
Anita and Cher are up next and they’re going with… Anita! Because Cher’s been injured. Yeahhhh, Brett got plates put in his wrist and lost a stack of weight. Cher weighs a heap more!
Anita: 101kg 1.7kg Cher: 154.4kg 3.4kg “Total”: 1.7kg 1.66%
Hah, great strategy there, ladies! They’re definitely under the Yellow Line and will be facing Elimination. Again. Hayley points out that if they’d chosen Cher’s weight they’d’ve been above the black team. Cher was afraid to back herself. Early on she struggled because she was missing home and her head wasn’t in the right place. She was worried this week that her injury would have stopped her losing much weight. Cher knows she’s not ready to go home.
What goes through her head on a daily basis, Steve asks? Not stuff related to her weightloss journey, stuff that happened before she came on the show. She lost four of her friends before she came in and with the funerals and stuff… they’re trying to stay positive and talk about it. Apparently the four friends died in a car crash. Given the bogan name her Mum gave her it’s a safe bet the friend who was driving that car was at fault. Probably drunk, speeding, the usual stupid bogan rubbish.
Aaaanyway. Katie says Cher’s realised if she goes home she won’t have four of her mates there to help her and that’s really hit home.
Todd’s representing green this time. Todd’s nervous but Gerald says he’s a big ball of energy so he should be the one to step up. He’ll need at least 1.8kg to stay safe.
Gerald: 125.8kg 1.1kg Todd: 90.3kg 2.9kg “Total”: 2.9kg 3.11%
Second place, nice work Todd!
Chris and Mark will now face elimination with Anita and Cher. Amber’s crowing. She tells us she was trying hard not to laugh because she can’t wait to get rid of the black team. I don’t like them either but… Geez.
Todd’s pretty happy with his result, says it’s sweet! He feels much more confident. Hayley says he’s a good looking boy, he should be confident! Todd shuffles his feet and mumbles a bit. Don’t embarass the poor boy, Hayley! Pretty lady be shoosh!
Robyn and Katie get the Biggest Loser of the Week tag so they’ll get to open up The Fridge. Maybe.
Mark’s hoping that Gerald and Todd, Mandy and Brett have the black team’s back. Could be a tough sell! It’s a team of two boys versus the often underperforming girls.
And this time around it’s three of the kids and Gerald voting. Still no Todd, then?
Mark says he’s surprised to see Amber there. Sent the pawn in to do battle for the king, he says. Amber just says that she wanted to know what it’s like to be up that end of the table and since she won Immunity for them this week, she felt it was her turn.
Chris then confirms he thinks light blue and orange have an alliance. He was hoping Robyn and Richard would be there since he figured it’d come up. Amber says it’s not an alliance, just a friendship. Amber sees Robyn like an aunty, it’s not an alliance, honest!
Gerald’s asked if he thinks there’s alliance and Gerald says there’s always alliances going on.
Anita says that orange and light blue are closer teams so alliance or not. Amber tries to bring up the Kirsten thing from last week and they were attached at the hip. But Anita and Cher point out that Richard and Amber had no interest in keeping Kirsten there over themselves!
Cher wants to stay now, despite missing home a lot. She has a goal and she needs to be there to reach the goal. Gerald says he can’t work Cher out. Sometimes she comes into the gym and smashes it and other times she comes in and are all over the place. It seems she wants to go home a lot.
Brett says it’s an interesting vote because you’ve got a team that’s a massive threat (Mark and Chris) and a team that’s had a second chance already. He’s not sure whether to vote with his head or heart, so it’ll be a fun vote to be in!
First to three votes goes home. Two votes a piece will send the lowest percentage home and that’s Anita and Cher tonight.
Chris says he thinks divine intervention is the only thing that can save him now. Cher have any last plea to stay? Nope!
Voting order is Katie, Amber, Brett and Gerald. So the two obvious votes followed by the swinging voters!
Katie says it’s the pointy end of the competition and to keep her and her Mum in the house she’s got to vote in their best interests. So they’ve got to remove the biggest threat to them in the house. Mark and Chris! Mark thanks her for her honesty.
Amber’s not voting on strategy, she’s voting because one person in that team brings a negative energy to her life and she’s a positive person and she doesn’t need that in her life. She’s voted for Mark and Chris, too!
Brett says it’s come down to how he can best keep himself and his Mum in the house and there’s likely to be only one opportunity to vote the two guys out, so he’s had to send Mark and Chris home.
Mark says he’s learnt that maybe winning isn’t absolutely everything. He might have to lose occasionally. Amber mutters under her breath if that’s a real response? Chris says he’s hoping Mark’s learnt to think a bit more before he speaks. Mark’s a nice guy and Chris is sure Mark didn’t mean to upset anyone along the way. Chris is thrilled to have established a connection with his son, though it would have been nice to do some more connecting over the next few weeks.
Chris says they probably drove Brett mad some nights because they kept the light on so late at night some times. Brett laughs and says that’s the other half of his reason for voting them out! They have a good laugh together which is nice to see, considering Mark’s the one who sort of broke Brett’s wrist!
Don’t forget Chris and Mark get a chance to come back into the game, too…
Chris and Mark are training hard on the outside. If it’s not in the gym it’s in a park. And both of them are looking pretty damn good 4 weeks on… Mark’s diet used to be pies and iced coffees but now they’re eating much healthier. Chris says he’s seeing his GP next week and he’ll be blown away!
Tomorrow night Anita and Cher get their chance at doing the leap of faith. But this time at a pool from a diving platform! Gerald will reveal something shocking during training that has Shannan say he was a dead man walking.
And The Fridge looks super duper shocking. Excellent!
