TBL 7×67 – TRAIN THE TRAINERS!!! Michelle Bridges is the hottest lady ever.

Previously on The Biggest Loser… no more Switzerland. My heart is broken.

As is Margie’s after having to send Bek home at elimination.

Tonight… TRAIN THE TRAINERS! WOOHOOOOOOOO!
And then the contestants will be called on to train a random bunch of Aussies in a field somewhere.
You might even see me. Sitting on the sideline eating donuts. (Not really.)

The trainers are waiting for the contestants to come back into Loser Lounge to see who got sent home.
Shannan’s shattered to see Bek isn’t there anymore, chalking it up to the original contestants voting out the interloper.

Brenda’s glad to still be there but also sad because she’s lost Bek. Brenda wasn’t alone, she has the trainers and the other guys but it was still good to have Bek there supporting her.

Margie’s still pretty bummed about having to send someone home. Everyone deserves to be there, Margie says.
That’s a far cry from where they were in the past, Steve says. Like when they voted out Selena. Because she was lazy and wasting everyone’s time and then she got another chance and was lazy and wasted time and then she got a THIRD CHANCE and also wasted that and wasted everyone’s time by not even trying to get back into the house after taking up Shannan’s time.

Um. Yeah. I’m still on Margie’s side on that one. Margie was (and is) a bit of a bitch about it but Selena didn’t deserve her place at Camp.

Anyway, back to the recap! Margie was close to Bek and it’s hard because you want them all to stay.
Mish says Margie is starting to open up to people and share more of herself and it’s wonderful!

Steve says one of them still has to get sent home. It’s going to be even harder at the end of this week to vote someone out. And, as Mish tells us, one contestant and one trainer will be out.

Mish says she needs to have a chat with Margie afterwards and she leads her off to the kitchen where Mish has attached a small photo of herself with a speech bubble saying “Enter with caution” on the pantry door. And an “I’m watching you!” one on the shelves inside. Bwahaha!
Mish says Margie’s struggled with her diet throughout. So this is an attempt to keep her very conscious of what she’s eating and so on. Even the fridge has a fierce-Mish photo on it!
Mish tells Margie that she can win this thing, if she can just turn her weakness into a strength.

Next day the contestants get up and head off for training in one of the big gyms as a group. But the door has caution tape all over it blocking access.
But that’s not going to stop Kasey. She tears the doors open and they head into the gym to see a big TV set up with the trainers barking orders at them all. They’re all amazed at how much they’ve changed from the old footage.

The trainers have pushed them for months… NOW IT’S THE CONTESTANTS TURN. Train the trainers day is here at last!

They’re going to collude on some workout plans. Margie’s hoping to make Mish throw up or at least cry a little!

The trainers rock up for training but none of their contestants are there. Oh no! Where is everyone. There’s just a letter on the pedestal the contestants get letters on sometimes.
Mish has a baaaad feeling about this.

The letter just tells them to go to The Bunker as the contestants have a surpriiiise for them!
Shannan says it’s their bunker, what’re they doing in there!

They all wander off to The Bunker which still looks super grubby. Why has nobody cleaned up down there? Geez.

They finally arrive and sit down to watch the contestants slowly walk into view on various cameras around camp.
Kasey’s the first to hold up a sign – “You’ve tortured us for months.”
Brenda – “Now it’s our turn!”
Margie – “PAYBACK’S A BITCH!”
Alex calls out, “BE AFRAID! BE VERY AFRAID!” Then holds up his sign saying it’s time for train the trainers.

Tiff groans and says she thought they’d gotten out of it this year.
Shannan and Mish were both expecting it though. Mish thinks Margie can bring it on!

Margie’s got a red top on like Mish usually wears. Doesn’t look anywhere near as good on her as they do on Mish!
Time to get warmed up, Mish. Five minutes at 15km/h. Ouch!
Pull your hair back, too. Don’t want the sweat and vomit getting in it, Margie says.

Margie’s digging in early, asking Mish if anything is troubling her, training’s a good place to get it out, etc. Mish laughs and says Margie’s troubling her!
Margie says Mish is looking good on the treadmill, form’s good, backside’s nice and tight. Bwah!

Mish has a circuit to do. Wall balls, box jumps, leg presses using Margie’s bodyweight as the weight. Mish is starting to think she’s taught Margie a little too well as that’s Mish’s trick.
Bit of a disparity in weights between the two but Mish is powering through it anyway. Go Mish!

Alex welcomes Commando Steve to his house of hell. Here he’ll develop an intimate relationship with pain!
Steve tells us Alex is looking pretty good in his black singlet and sunnies. But let’s get into it.

First thing is to flip a huge tractor tire over and over and up a hill and around a cone and back down the hill.
Now on the bike!

But first, off with the shirt.

What’s that noise outside? Oh, it’s all the women (and some of the men) squealing in delight. That’s all.

Alex aspires to be like Commando, though he knows he’ll never be quite that good. Steve saved his life so he’s got a lot of respect for the guy.

Kasey’s got something special for Tiff. It’s a board like the ones the men normally break. Twice the thickness of the ones Tiff gets Kasey to break. Tiff hasn’t even broken one this thick for her fifth dan black belt yet. So this is pretty serious business!
Kasey’s getting Tiff to write on the board the things holding her back, etc. Then at the end of the session she’s going to smash it. Tiff just says okay!

Tiff writes “Self Doubt” “Excuses” and “Failure” on her board and says that even trainers struggle with that stuff sometimes.
Kasey’s surprised since she’s struggled with those things as well. Kasey says you look at Tiff and think she’s perfect but the reality is everyone has little things like that they worry about.

What excuses does Tiff make? Tired, not good enough, lots of pressure on her. Everyone’s scared of failure, Tiff’s scared of failing Kasey. Kasey says she can’t, her life has been changed already. Not there yet though, gotta get her to Top 3, but that comes down to Kasey in the end.

Brenda’s digging into Shannan. Tells him on the rowing machine that even Hamish rows faster than Shannan, come on! Shannan is horrified by the comparison!
“Spin those little chicken legs” while he’s on the spinbike. Shannan’s only in the warmup stage when he gets to 1km in under a minute on the spinbike. There’s more to come!

Back to Mish and Margie! Mish says train the trainers is one of her most favourite days at Camp. NOT!
Mish is having to do sit-squat wall-ball things on one of the boxes and the camera crew do us all a favour and show that from up close and right behind. *fans self*

Now time for some more leg presses with Margie as the weight. Mish is obviously feeling the burn but she’s not giving in, breathing hard but not defeated!
Margie then gets the boxing gloves on Mish and asks her if there’s ever been a time when Mish has wanted to punch her and Mish says YES! Well, pretend the heavy bag is her and Mish goes nuts on the bag. Ha!

Shannan’s still working very hard with Brenda. Steve’s doing kettle bell lifts. Then 50 pushups. Alex says he’s been told Steve can do 100 so what’s 50?
Steve says the pain is just flowing through him and he’s cursing himself for teaching Alex all this stuff.

Dead lifts! And if Steve wants to rest he has to rest while holding the weight off the ground.

Steve’s looking well-knackered and Alex is still in his face and he tells us he thinks he may have stepped over the line at one point but TOO BAD! It’s Alex’s training session.

How do you feel, Steve? YEAH. Look him in the eye when he’s talking to you, etc.
Steve says it’s been a while since anyone has gotten in his face like that and nobody’s trained him in a long time and it was pretty good to have Alex training him today.

End of the Kasey-Tiff training session and it’s time to break the wood. Tiff confides in us that she wasn’t at all sure she was even going to be able to break it. It’s the thickest bit of wood she’ll have ever broken.
Kasey reminds her what the first thing on her piece of wood is – Self Doubt. Does she believe she can break this wood?

Long pause.

Tiff says yes. She can. She is a warrior! Kasey’s not buying it, Tiff sounds like Kasey used to!

Come on Tiff!

Tiff does a big warrior yell and pumps herself up first and then winds up and smashes the board in two on the first strike. Go Tiff!
She tells us she hurt her hand doing it. A lot.
Doesn’t seem broken though so it’s all good!

Brenda has a special finale for Shannan set up. Switzerland they made Brenda jump in an ice pool. So now Shannan’s going to take an ice dunk, too!
Not quite as cold, of course. But he still has to stay in there for 30 seconds!

Shannan’s dreading it before he even gets in and the faces he pulls! THE FACES! Hilarious.
Brenda pushes him to 45 seconds because that’s what she had to do because Shannan kept talking during her dunk.
Mind over matter, Brenda says. Shannan replies that he doesn’t mind and this doesn’t matter!

Meanwhile Mish is still going strong in the gym. She says she can feel her legs buckling underneath her but she’s not going to stop. No way!
When Mish finishes the final part of her workout she lets out a groan and tries to catch her breath.

Margie says Mish is amazing, she’s an inspiration and she smashed that session. Mish thanks her for her efforts.

Afterwards the trainers are having a chat in the trainers room.
Mish is lying on the floor, exhausted. Says she feels sick.

Steve says they taught them well, Alex organised a really good session.
Tiff asks if Alex was dressed up as Commando because Kasey was all dressed up like her!

Then Shannan finally comes in with a towel around his shoulders and Tiff asks him how he went and Steve asks him how his baptism went and Shannan asks, “How’d you bastards know?!” They’d seen the ice, apparently.

Mish is too knackered to even tease Shannan so you know she’s worked hard!

When Shannan got out of the ice bath Brenda had said there was something else planned as well. It’s not over?

Steve says he’s sitting there till someone comes to find him. Mish says he can’t even talk, after he stumbles over some words. And Steve says he can’t talk at the best of times! Bwahaha silly trainers.

Train the trainers isn’t over yet. This will make them or break them, Margie says.

The contestants pull a tarp off the ground to unveil a small arena with the inflatable sumo suits underneath them.
Time for some wrestling! Sumo wrestling! Not at all Tiff’s martial art, she says.

Commando versus Shannan for the first round and then Mish versus Tiff.

Alex says Steve looks like Alex used to at the start, super obese! Shannan says it’s pretty uncomfortable, having all that extra weight on him.
Shannan says it was a bit of an eye opener experiencing the uncomfortableness of all that extra weight.

Mish tells us that Steve didn’t look anywhere near as intimidating with the sumo suit on.

The first round starts and Shannan belts his belly and says Steve’s arse is his!
Shannan eventually knocks Steve over and then does a huge sumo belly flop on him. Steve is trying to keep a straight face while relaying this but after another replay he’s laughing his damn arse off. :D

Now Mish versus Tiff!
Shannan says Tiff looks like a little oompa loompa with tiny little ninja hands and feet coming out of the sumo suit. Neither girl is that big so it’s more of a waddle for both of them.
Tiff pretty much falls over with little help from Mish… who falls over on top of her right after. Ha!

Train the trainers is over, now it’s time for the trainers to have their turn.

Mish is delighted and is going to put Margie through the same circuit she’d devised. Good fun!

Tiff’s going to get Kasey to do the treadmill with a bar across her shoulders again. Cue footage we didn’t see before of Kasey stumbling and getting thrown off the back of the treadmill and faceplanting into one of the wooden pillars around the dojang.
Kasey says it’s like horses though, you fall down you get back on and keep going.
Kasey’s powering through the running portion of the session and thinks she must have a determined look on her face as all she’s thinking throughout is Final Three. Final Three. Final Three.

Shannan takes Brenda back to HIS GYM. Not Brenda’s anymore, the ice bath is gone, she notes. Shannan says that it was maybe not a great idea to remind him of that at the start of the session.

Steve’s got Alex running on the driveway. Even with a busted rib, he says it feels good to run again. Steve tells us to imagine what Alex would be capable of if he wasn’t constantly injured or unwell. He’d be even more unstoppable!
Steve says Alex’s example in training is what got him through the train the trainers session.

Back with Margie and Mish and Mish is encouraging her to do 20km/h like Mish did and Margie has her doubts but she gives it a go and manages to get it done. Margie says afterwards that it was the hardest session ever. Sweat pouring off her. She asks if Mish will come wash her back for her. Nooo, but she’ll get Margie a drink!

Brenda’s been doing lots of training, even more than she’d promised Shannan she’d do. The other contestants don’t think she’s been working out as hard because she’s been doing it in the middle of the night. She’s really playing the game this week, for the first time, she says. The others think she’s slacking off and maybe aren’t pushing as hard as they could.
More fool them!

Tiff says it’s hard work being on The Biggest Loser but it’s very rewarding. And now it’s time for the contestants to “pay it forward”.
Ugh, I hate that expression.

Anyway, Steve tells the contestants it’s time to train Australia.

Whut?

Shannan says 60% of Australians are overweight and 1 in 4 kids at 18 are morbidly obese?! What? Please, somebody tell me Shannan’s number isn’t right because that’s super depressing, if true.

So now they’re going to have 1,000 people in a stadium to do a workout with them. Weee!

They’re at Sydney Olympic Park, if anyone actually cares.

Lots of average Aussies are there. Some quite fit ones, including a PT I’ve seen floating about on Twitter before! But also some pudgy folk. Even one who is clearly morbidly obese. Not sure if she’s actually in the group who are working out.

It’s a lot of people, 1,000. The contestants are quite surprised by just how many people that is.

The trainers come out on stage first to have a chat with everyone there. Steve tells them all to have fun and let’s make a difference to obesity in Australia.

Kasey’s the first contestant to come out. Tiff recaps Kasey’s history for the crowd, if any of them don’t watch the show.
Kasey remembers the public speaking bit early in the competition where Kasey was terrified to get on stage but this time she’s pumped and ready to get into it.
Kasey’s getting them started with a warrior cry and then getting them warmed up with some jogging on the spot and changing directions like Tiff gets them to do.

Kasey’s amazed how quickly her time is done and she doesn’t really want to get off the stage!
Tiff says Kasey’s come a really long way from the girl who couldn’t even talk to Tiff or in front of groups.

Next up, Brenda!
Shannan’s demonstrating the “mountain climber” exercises where you prop yourself on your hands and alternate bringing legs up under you.
Brenda’s looking out over the crowd and can see a few of the heavier ladies who haven’t dropped to the ground to do this part of it and had basically given up, thinking they can’t do it. Brenda remembers that feeling!

She gets them all to start jogging on the spot if they can’t do the given exercise, keep the heart rate up and pumping.

Mish introduces Margie next. Mish got a big cheer when she got on stage, biggest so far. Kinda suspect Steve’s will be the largest cheer, given all the females in the crowd!

Margie’s got half the crowd doing burpees while the other half are doing bridges, then they swap. Mish is thrilled by Margie’s performance, she’s out among the crowd motivating them and high fiving people and encouraging them to keep going. Just like a real personal trainer, Mish says.
Margie is having a lot of fun with it and it’s obvious the crowd is loving the attitude and fun she’s bringing to the workout.

Tomorrow night, Commando Steve and Alex take to the stage and Alex might be as much of a hit as Margie!

Also, the contestants prepare some fine dining nibblies and host a dinner party where they can mingle with some other singles. Ew!
Alex is going to have quite a bit of success there, too.

Though he asks one lady for her number and she asks him, “The real one or the fake one?”

Errr…
