TBL 7×60 – Michelle the chubby singing budgie? Behind the scenes Thursday funtime!
Tonight on special Thursday episode! Steve’s giving the reins over to Commando Junior… aka Alex!
Other behind the scenes of training things as well. And we find out more about stupid Graham’s stupid crush on stupid Lydia.
And Michelle’s going to sing at a club!
But before all that let’s go back over everything that happened this week. SNORE.
The first real new footage is following Michelle after her elimination. And some old footage of her nomming on a giant hamburger. I want a hamburger now!
Michelle had never been kissed before coming on the show but of course now she has, WE’VE SEEN IT.
Back home in Melbourne Michelle wakes up in the morning and goes straight to the gym for a session with her trainer. Lots of cardio and weight work.
Michelle doesn’t just stay home now. She’ll get up and go for a run instead, that’s her release instead of sitting on front of the telly.
Her new diet is very easy for her, it’s “fast food without the calories” she says. Michelle’s thinking of going into the nutrition field afterwards as she’s really enjoying all the food.
BBQs used to mean all the fatty sausages and foods and so on but now they’re eating the healthy chickens and fishes and stuff. They’re eating healthy as a family.
Her Mum says it’s great to see Michelle happy.
Hamish is in Melbourne with her at the moment, which she thinks is great!
Hayley says nobody was supposed to see this training session of Commando Steve’s.
Steve says he’s sick of getting in Graham’s face and telling him what has to be done so he’s in the shed waiting for them to turn up. Relaxing on a bench.
Today Steve’s going to use Alex to help train Graham. Alex can’t train at this point, but he can push Graham to train! Alex will be Steve’s right hand man while Steve sits back and has a cup of tea.
Steve’s going to sit back and let Alex encourage him, play with his phone, enjoy himself. Heh.
And it seems to be working, Graham’s sweating great big rivers of sweat so Steve’s happy with Alex. Alex is now known as CJ, by the way, Commando Junior!
Shannan thinks getting Brenda to train and breaking into her head is putting her on the path to winning. Up until that point Brenda had thought of herself as a failure but now the penny has dropped. Or he’s hoping it has, anyway.
Brenda’s being told to keep telling herself she can do this and can win this. Shannan’s challenging her to beat her time in the first run of a circuit. Her second run is actually 49 seconds faster, which is pretty huge.
Shannan says anyone not thinking she’s a threat now must be crazy.
Brenda wants to prove to herself and some other people in her life that she’s not a quitter.
Time for Dr Swan’s catchup with Michelle.
Egg white omelette for breakfast, chicken and salad for lunch, seafood and veggies for dinner. She gets hungry sometimes but she’s trying to learn to cope with that.
Time for the KITCHEN OF DOOM!
Erm, that kitchen of food isn’t right. Where’s all the cake? We’ve seen her saying cake is one of her big downfalls and she baked Tiff and herself a cake at the start. WHERE’S THE CAKE?
Dr Swan says Michelle’s the contestant they had the most difficulty fitting all the food on the table. Pork belly, fried rice, chips and huge servings of everything.
There’s two thickshakes on the table, each one has 1,000 calories in it. That’s her daily intake, now.
Dr Swan says he’s a coffee addict too and the tip he gives people is to go for the smallest cup and only fill it half way.
What’s stopping Michelle from going back to that? She just has to think of how unhappy she was when she was overweight.
Bio age time. Michelle’s chronological age at the start was 24. And her biological age was 34. Ouch. Still horrible to hear that.
But she’s worked hard now. Chrono age is still 24.
New bio age: 25! Michelle’s birthday is actually next week so she’s effectively back in line with where she should be.
Michelle works at a cafe and she has to avoid nibbling so as much as she loves working with her family there she’s going to leave to avoid the temptation. She’s looking to become a nutritionist instead.
Hayley says we’ve seen two romances blossom in Camp this year, Lisa and Simon and Hamish and Michelle. But what we haven’t seen as much of Graham and Lydia. Graham’s shocked reaction to Lydia putting the 1kg weight penalty on him last week revealed something of his true feelings for her.
We also didn’t see Margie’s heart-to-heart with Graham afterwards.
Margie tells us that Graham has a massive heart and it’s not a big surprise he has a soft spot for Lydia. If he had the chance he’d probably marry her today, she says.
Graham’s not feeling so good after the challenge and getting the penalty. How’s he feeling about Lydia, Margie asks. Graham’s a bit upset, feels it was a low blow. Margie tells us it’s broken his spirit a little. He’s liked her from the start. Awww.
Graham tells us he’s 36 and never been in love but he’s starting to know what it feels like. We’ve actually seen him saying that before.
But he adds he’s a small country town boy and she’s a small country town girl, so they’ve got a lot in common…
Ooookay?
Lydia loves the outdoors, honest to herself, she trains and she’s a great cook. All admirable qualities, certainly.
Graham says everything he wants in a woman is what Lydia’s got.
Graham’s feeling cranky after the challenge and he’s starting to realise that Lydia just doesn’t feel the same way about him.
Mate, I’m not sure she’s *capable* of feeling the same way. I’m not sure you even understand what that feeling is.
Margie says everyone’s probably expecting him to lie in bed and do nothing but Graham thinks it’ll just spur him on to work harder. Margie says she’s got his back, always has. Graham understands he’s not ready to go home, now.
Time for Michelle’s mini-makeover. Sammy’s organised the venue and a backup singer and some fancy shoes and a pretty dress and some makeup and hairstyling.
The crowd’s filing in as Michelle continues to get ready backstage.
Sammy introduces Michelle’s brother as her backup singer!
And Hamish is in the audience too. Looking a bit of a bogan but hey, he’s there! She wasn’t expecting that.
Michelle’s loving the feeling of performing for everyone. And she actually has a really nice voice so it’s not a chore to listen to her, as it was with Amanda in whatever season that horror show happened.
Not sure she’ll get much further than singing in clubs and stuff but if you’re in it to enjoy it, that’s probably enough?
Michelle’s dropped dress sizes from 20 to 12 and is aiming to fit in a 10 for Finale. And Hayley’s hoping she’ll sing for everyone again at Finale!
And that’s it for the not-Friday half hour behind the scenes episode thing.
