TBL 7×59 – Margie angry, Margie smash! MARGIE SMASH!

Previously on The Biggest Loser everyone was a giant stupidhead.

Everyone had their dreams fulfilled, ponies were ridden, waves were surfed. Fun!

Temptation involved a whole bunch of cupcakes, many of which get eaten by Lydia. Tonight we find out if it was worth it or not. In terms of whether she gets Immunity, the hit to her waistline sure won’t be worth it, not when she can’t work out for the rest of the week…

Margie and Mish have a blowup during/after training? And then Mother Nature does its best to wipe the contestants off the face of the Earth with some wild weather during the weekly challenge.

But as the episode starts we’re getting more footage of Lydia stuffing cupcakes into her gob. And Bek. And Brenda. And Kasey. So many faces being stuffed!

Replayed footage of Lydia being quite upset over what the game is making her do. Can’t you see the game holding the gun to her head and making her eat all these cupcakes. That awful, horrible game! So mean!

Kasey polishes off another cupcake and reveals her sticker and she has the star under it! Kasey has Immunity. She’s trying to play down her excitement as Lydia was the one who was “meant” to get the Immunity.
Seriously, the idiocy is all pervasive right now.

Lydia says “Trace” deserves to be in the game as much as her. Nickname?
Anyway Lydia tells us she’s glad it was Kasey who got the Immunity if it wasn’t herself.

Lydia’s eaten less than a thousand calories which Hayley says she’s sure she can work off. With a bung knee? Yeah, that’s going to happen!

Lydia breaks down in the hallway outside and Margie has to comfort her. Margie tells us Lydia is her main competitor but you can’t just not be compassionate in that situation.

Brenda’s blowing up inside at Kasey feeling sorry about winning Immunity. Kasey says Lydia deserves to be there and Brenda says that Kasey deserves it too, they all do, even the ones who won their way back into the game.

It’s like people have forgotten Lydia won her way back in, too. I don’t care if she was last out she was still out!

Brenda tells us she’s really angry because it’s like nobody was supposed to play except Lydia?

Lydia tells us she can’t save herself so she’ll have to rely on some of the others to save her.
Surely they won’t be moronic enough to save two big threats in a row if they get the chance to send one home. SURELY.

Kasey, Margie and Alex are discussing it afterwards and Margie says she’s not mad at Kasey at all, good on her for winning, she’s just sad because Lydia’s worked so hard and deserves to stay there, rah rah rah.
Alex says Lydia’s not gone yet, still a long way till weigh in. Kasey’s sworn not to vote for her, Alex agrees so long as it’s not Graham below the Line with Lydia, in which case he’ll have to vote Lydia lest Commando tear him a new one.

Kasey says they have to do whatever they can to make sure Lydia stays safe after what happened today.

NO YOU DON’T! You don’t owe her shit. She’d turf you out without a second thought. Get over it. ARGH!

Alex suggests sabotaging the Blue’s milk. Do they even have heavy milk? Margie says they can probably find a cow around somewhere, she doesn’t know how to milk one but they’ll get it done. Kasey knows how to milk a cow though so it’ll be okay!

Alex and Graham are first into training tonight. They jog to the training shed as their warmup.
Once they get to the shed and hop on the spinbike Steve asks them who they want with them in the final four? Is it wise to bring someone like Lydia into the final four?
Alex knows what he’s saying, he needs to get rid of Lydia and keep someone like Brenda in, because Brenda’s no threat to him.

Graham’s a fair bit behind Lydia, percentage-wise. So how’s that affect him? Makes it harder to win so of course he needs to get rid of her.
Alex told him that six weeks ago but Graham owed Lydia a favour, he says, and he has to stay true to his word.

Today’s session sounds pretty tough. Spinbikes for fifteen minutes and then ten deadlifts in between.
Graham’s starting to beat Alex in training sessions.

Graham’s told to look down below the bike after they’re done and there’s a huge puddle of sweat beneath him so he knows Graham’s worked hard today.

Shannan is checking on Bek and Brenda’s nutrition. They’re putting all their numbers into the online computery thing and working it out and they think they can win, so long as they stick to the diet.

Mish is having Margie work out outside today. Mish wants to get her out of the indoor gym after Margie’s breakdown yesterday.
Mish arrives for training and says to Margie that it’s FREEZING!
Where’s Lydia? Off at the surgeons again having her knee looked at again.

They had Temptation yesterday, too. So Lydia’s even more worried than she was beforehand. She had a massive meltdown afterwards, Margie tells Mish.

Margie also took part, but only by accident. She knocked one over with her foot.
Oh, but that’s not all.

After the game was all done and dusted Margie picked up another cupcake and had a bite of it. After Immunity was already done! And she was told she wasn’t allowed to.
Why’d she do it? She thinks it was just a bit of the rebelling against being told what to do.
Mish says Margie’s got an issue with authority. Mish tells us that Margie’s been trying to do it her way and it obviously hasn’t worked. So at Camp they’ve been doing it Mish’s way, which works! When Margie follows it…

Mish tells Margie that when they had their chat yesterday Margie was cornered, though Margie insists she wasn’t. Mish says she then tried to deflect it by saying she felt like a caged animal.
Margie says is that it? Well, you don’t know her at all! And off she walks. Oh, more deflection then?

Margie says that wasn’t it at all, she wasn’t deflecting at all. It’s taken Margie this long to open up and start talking to Mish and when she finally does Mish is insisting Margie is deflecting?
Can Mish finish now? Mish says that if this is the way…? Every time Margie’s been cornered in a situation this is her behaviour.
Mish tells us she’s getting very frustrated with Margie and if she won’t listen to Mish’s words, maybe she’ll listen to her own?

Mish hands her a letter that Margie wrote at some point, I guess?

It was right back at the beginning, promising things to herself and her trainer and her family. She says it’s a bit of a slap in the face to read those things now.
Margie goes to hand the letter back to Mish and Mish says it’s Margies. Margie says she doesn’t want it, tosses it on the ground and walks away.

“Are you for real?” Mish wonders what she’s supposed to do with Margie just walking away.

Send her home! Send her home! Bring back Michelle! Bring back Michelle!

Except I’ve already seen Margie in the weekly challenge so…

Mish eventually gets Margie back to training. She wasn’t expecting big things, just to get her moving again.
Margie’s letter had actually been home with Mish for the whole competition and after yesterday’s breakdown Mish decided to bring it with her today.

But Margie can’t look at or talk to Mish so Mish tells us if they’re not going to talk they’re going to train!

Run up the top of the driveway and start training.

Margie’s just trying to get through the session and move on. This is definitely the lowest point of their trainer/trainee relationship.

Afterwards? Talking yet?

Seems so. Margie doesn’t want to disappoint people. Doesn’t give a stuff about people she doesn’t know but the people she cares about? Yeah, she doesn’t want to disappoint them. And she gets really upset when she feels like someone is disappointed in her.
Margie thought at the start she could get through it with just training and stuff. But she’s exhausted by it all, and hungry, and she wonders if it’s just out of boredom?

Kasey and Tiff are training in one of the other gyms. Tiff is excited they’ve got Immunity. Kasey says she had to feign she was upset over not letting Lydia have Immunity but she knows it’s important to have Immunity, etc.
Tiff says sugar’s a toxin (IT ISN’T) and so they’re going to have to work hard today and flush it out with lots of water.

Tiff gets Kasey to do burpees as part of the workout and Kasey says she doesn’t whinge about them anymore because Tiff just makes her do even more of them if she complains.
Kasey’s starting to think she can really win this. Tiff says getting Immunity couldn’t come at a better time and she’s right, since they’re going to Switzerland after elimination!

Bek and Brenda now get some exciting news from Shannan… He’s proud of them both so he’s going to take them to his gym and he’s going to assist them in teaching a pump class!
Oh dearrrrr!

Shannan’s gym is a Fitness First gym, big surprise. Dee Why Fitness First, Shannan says. If anyone wants to go hang outside it creepily.
The Pump Class is a group of really fit people who’ve obviously been doing fitness-y things a long time. Bek confesses to them all that this is their first time.

Shannan asks Brenda what her favourite exercise is? Squatting, she loves to squat she says. Keep moving to keep warm, she also says. Then mock shoves Shannan out of the way to take over the class. Self confidence used to be a problem for her, huh?
Shannan’s having a laugh with us about how much Bek and Brenda are loving it.

Bek’s got the class channelling their “inner Kardashian” while working on their butt muscles. Yeah, you know that’s not muscle, right Bek? And you know Kim got divorced after her sham marriage? And is generally the worst kind of celebrity?

Oh, okay, fine, we’ll talk about some booty Bek. Booty is good. Booty is great. Booties that can do a lot of squatting is the best of all!

Bek’s loving the pump class and tells us it won’t be her last one. She’ll do a lot more of them in the future.
Shannan is stoked by the effort they’ve put in today and the consequent gain in confidence in them both on the way out.

Then it’s time for Challenge Day. So of course it is absolutely bucketing down, again!
Hayley has a treat for them though. They’re going on a cruise. But not a pleasure cruise.
They’re currently at the start line for today’s challenge. They’ll board a boat out into the middle of Sydney Harbour then abandon ship and make their own way back to Camp Biggest Loser.
Harsh man, it’s a pretty rotten day for that!

200 metre swim in open water to the beach. At the beach they have to dig up a VERY IMPORTANT TREASURE CHEST.

Yup, it’s a pirate’s life for the fatties!

Nobody knows what’s in their treasure chest but they’ve got to carry it 1.5km up the hill and back to Camp. And then find the key that unlocks their particular treasure chest.

First to open their chest gets a 1kg weight advantage at the weigh in. The girls will definitely want that one, Graham it won’t help as much.

Alex and Lydia have both been ruled out of the challenge. God only knows why Alex is even there, all that cold and damp air can’t be good for his respiratory infection!

Anyway we finally find out what’s happened to Lydia’s knee! She’s worn through the patella (kneecap) and through the cartilage and meniscus in her knee and hasn’t been able to train since weigh in. And it’s been killing her.

Lydia and Alex will head back to Camp with Hayley and wait for the contestants to come back. Should be fun, nice and snug and warm back at Camp.
Nobody much is going to miss Lydia not getting to compete!

Now it’s time for everyone to get in their wetsuits and get on the boat.

Lydia’s not heartbroken about not getting to compete today, though she does need that 1kg advantage…

Brenda says that at least the sharks will be able to see them, Bek says they’re like giant seals and Brenda does a quite passable impression of seal noises. Hee!

Bucketing down and the sky is very dark and there’s gale force winds as they head out on the harbour. Lovely day for it.

Everyone gets their own swimming cap, very brightly coloured. I think they’re expecting they might need to rescue some of them because the day is just that miserable!

Margie takes an early lead during the swim while most of the others are in more of a pack, for a while, until Bek pulls into the lead… and then past Margie who’s having a bit of a panic attack. She feels like the lifejacket is strangling her so she TAKES OFF THE THING THAT WILL STOP HER DROWNING and continues swimming.
Okay, I know, Margie’s an experienced surfer and has probably swum a lot further than that before but HOLY CRAP.

Graham’s not taking any breaks, he’s just going and going.

But Bek’s in the lead and up the beach before anyone else, gets her digging gloves on and starts throwing sand everywhere, digging like crazy.
Margie’s in next and Kasey’s not far behind her.
Then Graham. Graham! Comes in fourth.

Brenda’s not far behind and overtakes him up the beach.

Everyone else is still digging away when they arrive. Graham’s not too worried because he says he’s strong, like a bulldozer, so he thinks he’s a chance of pulling ahead.

Dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig.

Margie’s the first to find her treasure chest and is determined not to let anyone catch her during the running leg.
It’s a steep hill on the way back to Camp and Margie says it’s quite a challenge after the swimming and the digging.

Bek’s second to finish digging and is hoping she’ll be able to catch up to Margie.

Graham’s the third to find his chest, surprisingly. Just Brenda and and Kasey left digging. Kasey’s not too worried about Graham being ahead because she knows he’s not at all a strong runner…

Bek’s talking a big game to us, saying she might catch up to Margie and maybe win the 1kg weight advantage. Margie’s determined not to let Bek catch up to her and keeps checking behind her.

Margie’s the first one back to Camp and gets to start trying each of the keys in turn, trying to find the right one to unlock her chest.

Meanwhile Bek and her booty keep plodding along back to Camp.

Bek gets back to Camp as Margie’s apparently still trying to open her chest… but then Margie finally gets the right key and opens her chest and is very happy to have won. Lydia gives her a big hug.

Margie and Mish head off to have a look through the goodies contained in Margie’s chest. It’s pictures of her family, including her brother, Matthew. What an excellent name.
Margie was seven, he was eighteen when he passed away. She loved her big brother and she misses him every day. And it was really hard on the family as well and she was too afraid to talk to her Mum about it. And even though it was a long time ago it’s all still so raw.
The guy who killed her brother is still out there apparently and it makes her angry. Mish says she bets it does but she can’t let that anger rule her life. Mish tells us Margie has a really short fuse (really?) and it pops up in all sorts of situations. When she feels pressured or cornered she comes out fighting and it’s affecting her life. And Mish thinks today might be the first time she’s really understood that.

Bek’s got her chest open as well and is throwing it open when Shannan tells her to hold up and they cart it off to another room.

Kasey’s next back into Camp, followed not long after by Graham. Followed not long after by Brenda! Now they’re all slaving away trying to open up the padlocks on their chests.

Bek’s got a picture of her and her Dad in there. She’d not seen it before and her Dad had left when she was very little. She used to visit him when she was young and she’d just be sick all the time and then eat and eat and vomit again. She didn’t feel comfortable being around, didn’t feel like she was supposed to be there.
Shannan can’t believe the change in Bek, admitting that her childhood wasn’t so great after all and actually being okay with it all.

Bek also has a letter from her Dad! She’s never had one of those before, she says. And he’s spelled her name wrong! She has a giggle at it.
Bek’s Dad says they know he hasn’t always been there to support her and he knows it’s his fault. Bek is sobbing now. :-(
Bek had always blamed herself as she’d never understood. Bek’s Dad says he’s always loved her and it’s his fault for not making sure she knew that. He sends all his love and support to her and she thinks that’s beautiful. She tells us that’s all she’s wanted her entire life, the love of her Dad.

On top of Kasey’s pile of goodies is her teddy bear. HAHAHAHA! She’s had the teddy bear since she was four, apparently. Her Dad gave it to her when Dad and Mum were separated for a bit. She wasn’t dealing with it too well and the idea was that any time she was missing her Dad she could hug her teddy bear. Awwwwwww!
Kasey was only four at the time but she loved her Dad and that’s probably when the eating problem started, too. She wanted the fridge in her bedroom! What’s wrong with that? So convenient. Bit noisy I suppose. But convenience!

Graham’s got a picture of himself with his nephew and niece and he touches a kiss to each of them.

Um. That’s a bit creepy.

Graham misses them, apparently, but he’ll get to spend so much more time with them now.
The man in the picture tried to put a good face on around family, but he was hurting on the inside. Graham started the nephew and niece’s bank accounts for them and Graham never keeps any of his silver coins they all go straight into those accounts so they’ve got their money for uni and school and stuff.

Steve says Graham is very fond of children.

Yeah.

Steve’s hoping for an invite to Graham’s eventual wedding as that’s the route to his own babies, apparently.

Brenda’s chest next. There’s an engagement ring in there, her Nanna’s? Or something. Her Dad’s stepmother’s ring. The stepmum looked after her Dad when he was growing up though she ended up with no kids of her own. Brenda was always close to her and I guess feels she’s in a similar situation.

Graham’s got some of his old RFS pants. They used to fit him, just barely, they were quite tight he says.
They’re not anymore. There’s a huuuuge amount of spare room. Graham’s feeling very proud now. Never going back to that.

Lydia’s got an “Answer for Everything Award” in her chest. Was from her time in school in 1988. Mish says some things change, some things stay the same!
Lydia also has a jacket she paid FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS for. It was the first bit of expensive clothing she bought for showing horses in and while she loves the sentiments related to it… she was massive when she bought it.
Mish tells her to put it on anyway. Let’s see!

Alex! Alex has a letter from his sister. And a bracelet from his Mum, she used to wear it when she was quitting smoking. Looks to be a copper bracelet.

Lydia says her jacket is from 2009. The jacket used to be tight but now it’s so huge on her it’d pretty much work as a bathrobe with that folded over thing. Put a belt around it. Mish is STUNNED. It used to be tight on her, Lydia says.
Lydia says she realised today that all the clothes she has at home aren’t going to fit her now. And more than that they couldn’t even be adjusted to fit her. Her fancy jacket is even too long in the sleeves because she’s lost flab around her shoulders.
Mish is loving it and Lydia’s enjoying the change. She says she stood in the middle of an arena with that on and felt like she’d finally made it. Now she’s wondering what she was thinking!

Lydia says it doesn’t matter anymore, whether she wins or loses, she’d be fine going home right now if she had to, she’ll never be that fat person again.

Well done, everyone, Hayley says. They fought through rain and tough seas… Well, no they didn’t Hayley. Two of them slobbed about at Camp.

Of course Margie got back in the fastest time and now has a 1kg advantage at the weigh in. Margie’s hoping she won’t need it but she’s relieved to have it.

Everyone got a reward today and a chance to chatter with their trainers about it all. Finale’s getting closer and now’s the time to knuckle down, train hard and eat well and Hayley will see them soon.

Sunday at 6.30 it’s time for the weigh in and Elimination. And the weigh in is FULL OF DRAMA. Including ANOTHER weight gain? Surely not. Or surely it’ll at least be that porker Lydia with her many cupcakes?
Then on Monday it’s time to head to SWITZERLAND.

Margie’s reading the letter that announces it. Alex is listening. Brenda is listening. Bek is listening. So I guess it’ll be Lydia or Graham going home? Gee, that’s going to be a tragedy, isn’t it?
Then in the Switzerland preview stuff I think we see Graham stack it while skiing?

So Lydia? Tragedy of tragedies? The bitch is gone again?

Anyway, tomorrow night! Another “Friday” episode only it’s on Thursday. Half hour, extra footage from the week and some chatter about Graham being in lurve with Lydia.
Then Sammy gets her makeover magic on with this week’s eliminee Michelle. She gunna be preeeeeetty and she’s going to SING IN A CLUB. Cool. I guess.
