TBL 7×48 – The most shocking weigh in in Biggest Loser History! (Maybe.)
Previously on The Biggest Loser it was Makeover Day all damn week!
The Eliminated Contestants got a sneak peek at the remaining contestants via The Bunker.
Lydia and Kasey came last in the weekly challenge and now face bedroom lockdown until weigh in.
Tonight, Last Chance Training sees Tiffiny Hall’s Dad introduced to the competition for a very special training session.
Her Dad, the olympic athlete coach. In tae kwon do, I assume, but possibly judo based on the throw he uses on his daughter in the preview bits!
Anyway the episode picks up again and the trainers come to Camp to find two of the contestants missing. Alex explains that he and Michelle came in first and Tiff is very excited to have one of her team finally come first in something.
Steve sounds… surprised, when he asks what they did to come first.
Alex explains that he used the knots he uses when tying together his roasts at work to secure the tires and they worked a treat. Steve says all those years at work finally won him something!
1kg advantage at the next weigh in for each of them. And Lydia and Kasey came last so they’re locked in their bedroom with one spinbike between them, no trainers, until weigh in.
Mish hopes they’re coming up with some clever ideas for working out in an area the size of a postage stamp.
Tiff then says they have some “Secret Business” to take care of with the rest of the contestants so she takes them and heads off, presumably while Mish heads up to check on Kasey and Lydia.
Meanwhile, Shannan has his team together for a pep talk. It’s Last Chance Training day in the house so Shannan’s going to give his new team a comparable workout. He says he’s been pleased with Shane, Lisa and Hamish’s efforts but Ryan needs to put in the hard yards now.
Shannan says they’re getting their final chance to get back into the house in one day’s time. So hopefully that means the reveal happens tomorrow? Exciting!
Mish is up chatting through the screen door with Kasey and Lydia. They’ve both got smiles on their faces so far so it seems like they’re doing okay.
Mish tells us that the contestants will hit various major milestones and they can be real turning points in their journey. Makeover’s one of them, they could use it as further motivation or they could give up.
Lydia’s trying to remain upbeat, saying it’ll keep them out of the fridge and the cool room and they’ve just got to keep on moving. Lydia, it seems, has been eating a tad too much since Makeover as well. And hasn’t been working out enough.
Mish is thinking it might be a good thing for them. They’ve only got to think about training, eating and sleeping. Instead of one Last Chance Training session they can just keep doing more and more of them.
Shannan’s contestants are at the Manly Fight Gym again today. Shannan says a gym like that isn’t for training, it’s for developing warriors, which is what they need to win their way back into the house.
Ryan’s punching a heavy bag with Shannan urging him on. But it’s a sad display, as usual. Very weak punches and he’s leaning into the bag so he can do shorter punches.
Within a few minutes of starting training Ryan is puking his guts out once more and he says he’s disappointed in himself. He thinks he’s a failure.
Shannan tells us that Ryan’s life depends on what happens in the next week at Camp Biggest Loser. He came to them at 241kg and he’s just managed to get under 200kg.
Shannan’s having a shout at him, telling him there’s nothing wrong with him while Ryan sits on his arse drinking water after being checked over by the medic. Not good enough to fight his way back into the house.
Ryan says he felt sick and he got angry at himself and Shannan wonders how that helps.
Shannan’s clearly frustrated with Ryan’s efforts and reveals that Ryan had actually put 10kg back on before coming for the comeback. He tells him if he really wants to change his life at 242kg he should have lost more than 40kg in 10 weeks. This is Shannan’s last week with him, what’s going to change, etc.
After an ad break Ryan is in tears. Shannan asks him if he can’t get Ryan back into Camp, what’s he going to do to change his life?
Shannan tries to get him to stop crying. They can talk about it all later but it’s time to train and Shannan needs him to train. He doesn’t care if Ryan cries while he punches so long as he rips into the bag like Shannan’s never seen.
No more wallowing!
Shannan tells us that Ryan is testing every last bit of his patience but he’s only just under 200kg. Shannan can’t afford to give up on him.
Shannan is getting him to repeat positive mantras while punching the heavy bag. He seems a bit more worked up but he’s not really punching that much harder or sweating any more.
Now we hear various martial art-y noises from the dojang. Tiff’s getting tossed around the mat by some guy a full head taller than her. Alex comes in wondering who the bully is tossing her around.
Tiff’s getting in some throws as well, which meets with Margie’s approval.
Michelle looks gobsmacked.
Tiff then introduces the contestants to Martin Hall. Olympic coach, knows how to train winners.
He’s also her Dad. He’s taught her everything she knows. Awww!
He’s trained Olympic gold medallists, apparently. So take what he says seriously.
Seventh dan black belt, Tiff says. That’s a lot!
Martin says when they found out years before the Olympics that they’d be in Sydney they went to intensity level 10. Went crazy with training.
Michelle says she really needs this sort of training this week.
Tiff says Michelle is showing signs of emotional binge eating and she’s got to start recognising that and learn to deal with it. Instead of taking her emotions out on food she has to take it out in the dojang.
Lots of spinbikes and treadmills today to start out with.
Now they’re going to do a board break. It’s about smashing through barriers. Need to be focused and committed.
They have to enter their brains and look back on their pasts and work out the predominant thing that’s been holding them back.
Margie’s is failure. Fear of failing and people thinking she’s a failure.
Graham’s is embarassment.
Michelle’s is fear of not getting what she wants out of life, not getting to pursue music. She wants the confidence to sing!
Alex likes food too much.
Okay! Write the barrier on the board and we’re going to smash through it.
Margie’s first to do the break. No special instructions on how to do it? Just slam her palm into it? Good way to break something in your hand if they’re not pre-weakened. Cheating!
Graham’s break is pretty good. Gets a really good fighting stance and yell and just smashes his hand right through it. Good stuff!
Michelle’s last of all. Martin calls her his singer. Awww.
Michelle breaks it suspiciously easily. Those boards are not proper boards!
Everyone’s really enjoyed the training session with Tiff’s Dad which makes a big change from what their attitudes would have been at the start of the show!
Wow, Weigh in time already? Okay.
Everyone’s very nervous coming in today. After Makeover week everyone’s expectations are set pretty low.
Everyone, have a look up at your old versions on the walls. Everyone’s pleased with how far they’ve come and they’re all feeling a lot more confident in themselves.
Lydia and Kasey are a little worried because of the bedroom lockdown. Michelle’s worried because she hasn’t stuck to the diet plan and has binged.
But Graham has to weigh in first!
Graham Previous: 157.1kg
Graham Current: 155.9kg
Graham Loss: 1.2kg
Graham Percentage: 0.76%
Even taking into account the day off for Makeover that’s a very lacklustre result for such a big man.
And Graham actually knows it, this week. Says he feels disgusted. He tells us he knows as the biggest contestant left in the house he needs to lose bigger numbers to stay in.
And even with the “shorter week” (?) he thought he’d at least get to 5kg, he thought he’d put the work in but clearly he didn’t do enough.
Steve’s actually not cross with him though. He says Graham taking responsibility for his actions is something they’ve been working on and seeing Graham accept it? Good enough for Steve, end of story.
Graham says Makeover was the proudest day of his life, it showed how far he’d come. Happiest he’s been in himself since he was a kid.
Went out on the town, did you Graham? Hayley heard you got a kiss! Graham said he had a great night, first time he’d been dancing sober. Steve has a chuckle at that one. And it was great getting a kiss!
Alex is up next. He has the 1kg advantage but he’s still very nervous.
Alex Previous: 115.8kg
Alex Current: 115.2kg
Alex Loss: 0.6kg
Alex with advantage: 1.6kg
Alex Percentage: 1.38%
First place! Not a great result but it might be enough to keep him safe. He was hoping for 2-3kg so he’s disappointed.
Steve is speechless, he tells us. Only pulling 0.6kg is clearly not good enough in his books.
Two weighed in, two low numbers. Who’s nervous? None of the contestants put their hands up but Tiff raises both of hers. Dork!
Michelle’s next. She’s extremely nervous. Just how much could she have binged? Really?
Has she given 100% this week? No, she admits to Hayley.
Michelle Previous: 80.2kg
Michelle Current: 81.1kg
Michelle GAIN: 0.9kg
Michelle LOSS after advantage: 0.1kg
Michelle Percentage: 0.12%
Guesswork based on teaser clips are not spoilers. Assclown.
Michelle is in tears, pretty much sobbing. Margie looks really upset for her as well. Tiff’s got her hand over her mouth and looks crestfallen as Michelle reveals she was expecting it because of what she ate. She binged and didn’t know how to stop. :-(
Tiff tells her not to let 30kg of weight loss so far be overshadowed by this small gain. It happens! It happens on the outside, it happens in Camp. You have ups and downs and it’s the downs that give you the incentive to move forward and teach you what you need to learn for the future.
Tiff’s then had enough of standing in the gallery and hops down out of the stands and trots up onto the scales to rescue Michelle. Everyone’s finding it hard to even look at her. Margie looks like she’s been punched in the gut. It’s obviously hurting… Well, most of them. Lydia looks faintly disgusted by the whole thing.
Tiff takes Michelle aside and gives her a big cuddle and tells her that it’s not the end of her journey. Tiff tells us she’s so proud of how far Michelle’s come.
Michelle returns to the stands and Margie leans forward to clutch her shoulders and offer a sympathetic word. Interesting, don’t often see Margie being nice to anyone, especially anyone on White!
Margie’s turn now and she’s extremely nervous. She’d had a sit down with Mish during the week to work over her meals and her exercise has been great but… so was everyone else’s.
Margie Previous: 115.2kg
Margie Current: 111.4kg
Margie Loss: 3.8kg
Margie Percentage: 3.3%
First place, by a comfortable margin. She gets down on her knees and kisses the scales in relief. She says she doesn’t mean any disrespect to the other contestants, she’s very relieved for herself to be safe.
Makeover was a turning point for her, she says. She stood in front of the mirror at Makeover and actually liked what she saw, for the first time in a long time. And actually wanted to stay there, looking, instead of not wanting to look at herself.
Kasey needs to have lost a mere 200 grams to be safe from Elimination. Kasey tells us that it might sound easy but after the week they’ve had, it might not be so easy.
Kasey Previous: 97.7kg
Kasey Current: 97kg
Kasey Loss: 0.7kg
Kasey Percentage: 0.72%
Fourth, pushing Michelle below the Line and definitely facing elimination. Michelle’s head tips forward and she’s in tears again.
Kasey thinks she didn’t do all she could have this week. She lost motivation for a day after seeing her family. After getting all dolled up having to return to Camp and put the sneakers back on seemed too much, wanted to go home with her family. But her family want her to stay for as long as she could.
Lydia needs to have lost 800 grams to beat Kasey and stay safe from Elimination.
For one of the powerhouses of the competition that should be easy. But she’s nervous because she’s last to weigh in. So it’s either going to be very good or very bad news!
Lydia Previous: 100.2kg
Lydia Current: 100.6kg
Lydia GAIN: 0.4kg
Lydia Percentage GAIN: 0.4%
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *snort* I mean, poor Lydia. That’s a terrible result.
Mish says she knows Lydia and knows how hard she trains so where has it come unstuck? Food, as well.
Why?
Because Lisa’s not there. :-(
Lydia doesn’t feel like she’s responsible to anyone now. What about to yourself, Mish asks?
When Lisa was there they’d prepare meals together and keep each other accountable, now she’s gone they’re doing meals by themselves.
Mish says this is perfect! Why is it perfect, Lydia? Because she knows she’s not taking responsibility for herself, nothing to do with Lisa really. Mish tells her she can respond any way she wants. She can respond in a way that sends her in a spiral or she can use it to empower her. It’s a good lesson for everyone, Mish says.
So now it comes down to whether the old Black alliance holds with the Reds or holds with their lowest gain agreement or VOTES WITH THEIR DAMN HEADS AND SENDS LYDIA HOME WHILE THEY STILL CAN.
Lydia’s in tears as she gets back to the stands. Margie gives her a big hug. Awww.
Speaking of Margie, she’s the Biggest Loser of the Week for the fourth time this season! Very impressive for one of the women to get to 4 wins.
Margie’s excitement is tempered a little by worry for Lydia, obviously.
Lydia and Michelle will now face Elimination while the others have to vote.
Biggest gain, rather than smallest loser, will be Lydia due to Michelle’s weight advantage, in case of a tie. So there could be trouble here. Only one Black Team member has to vote Lydia not Michelle and she’s done for.
Michelle and Lydia share a big hug on the way out of the weigh in room. Both are very upset. Awww.
Eight Eliminations so far, Hayley says. Time for another.
Emotional week, Michelle? Yep. She struggled and binged and she’s worried what she’ll be like on the outside. And she’s scared to go against Lydia. And she doesn’t think Lydia realises how much Michelle admires her. Lydia on the way to the gym is a great motivator for Michelle.
Lydia says it’s hard to see your weaknesses exposed in front of people and learn from them but having so many people help her get to this point, it’s frightening she might then go home.
Margie, you might lose another teammate this week. She’s devastated by the thought. It was hard enough losing Lisa.
Graham says it’ll be a hard decision as he’s friends with both ladies up the other end.
Michelle says she needs to stay because it’s been 10 weeks and she’s still struggling with her diet. She’s too scared, she’s not ready to go home.
Lydia says she’s never worked at something so hard and felt good about it and felt good at it. She was becoming the person she wanted to be and she wishes she hadn’t left this journey for such a long time. She hopes she has the honour of continuing the journey with the rest of them.
Time to vote!
The White and Red teams are at the starting end of the voting since their votes are probably going to be predictable…
Hayley says if someone gets three votes, that person goes home. In the case of a hung vote the lowest weightloss percentage goes home, in this case Lydia!
Kasey’s voting first. She says it’s hard for her, she’d promised not to write one of their names down but she’s had to vote for someone she finds inspirational and a role model and it’s hard, etc.
Her vote goes to Lydia, of course. Lydia doesn’t look surprised in the slightest!
Margie says there’s two lovely women and she really likes both of them but one in particular she formed a very good bond with from the beginning. They work well together. And the person she’s voting for has the potential to take out the title.
She’s voted for… Michelle!
Of course.
Now we get to the interesting part!
Graham says he’s friends with both ladies and one of the ladies has kept him in the game so long because one of the ladies has said she’s had his back through three eliminations. So it’s a tough choice for him.
But… he’s voted for… Michelle? You idiot.
Two votes for Michelle, one for Lydia. So it comes down to Alex casting the deciding vote. Ouch. Poor old fella.
After an ad break Alex is asked to reveal his vote.
He says they’re both tough competitors but unfortunately this is a game and so he’s got to vote strategically…
And he’s voted out LYDIA! Hooray!
Alex is on the verge of tears afterwards and says sorry to Lydia and Lydia says it’s alright.
Lydia says everyone in the house has left her a better person. Her life is better for having Margie in it. And she’s pleased to know Margie’s in the best place possible as Lydia leaves.
Margie says Lydia’s a lovely lady and beautiful. Even before makeover, she was beautiful. Hayley tells her to stop it and has to wipe away a tear. Awwww!
Graham’s very sad to see Lydia leave. She’s been an inspiration for him since the start as well. And he’s got a soft spot for her. She’s everything he wants in a woman and he hopes he can find someone just as good as her on the outside. AWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
Hayley says she’ll miss Lydia but she’ll see her at Finale.
Might be a bit sooner than that, Hayley!
Hayley gets choked up as she says it’s time to leave. Awww.
Lydia tells us she’s unrecognisable from the person she used to be. She leaves a more complete and better version of herself. And she’ll only be more determined to see it through now.
Lots of big hugs for everyone. Awww.
Margie tells her she can do it!
Episode not over! Episode not over!
Shannan’s standing around outside the gates checking his watch, tapping his feet.
Then we see Lydia carting her luggage down the driveway.
AWW YEAH!
Shannan jumps out and surprises her. Thought you were going home, did you? Come with me…
Tomorrow night the remaining housemates finally learn of The Bunker. And discover some unwelcome interlopers!
Time for the Eliminated Contestants team to re-enter the house!
And it seems there’s some old wounds that’ll get reopened. Brenda says that women like “her” don’t like women like Brenda. Whoever “her” is, look out!
Maybe. Brenda’s not really looking that fit.
Then the battle to re-enter the competition begins.
And later, a weigh in bombshell is going to be dropped by… Selena?
If she says she’s not coming back into the competition at all I am going to be fucking PISSED.
This better be good!
