TBL 7×44 – WHY THE HELL IS SHE ON THE BOAT, GUYS?

Previously on The Biggest Loser Lisa took a 1kg penalty into the weigh in and that sent her to Elimination where the Red Team finally lost its third member.

Shannan caught up with evicted contestant Luke.
Tonight we find out what Shannan’s been up to with everyone else who’s been eliminated.

Tonight, a workout in the mud on the paradeground followed by a hose down from the Commando followed by… MAKEOVER DAY!

But first, the fallout from Elimination. Margie and Alex had a dustup and the others are all feeling a bit weird about it all.

Alex breaks the silence first, announcing he has something to say. Alex says to Margie he blew up a bit at her and he didn’t mean to. He thinks he misheard what she said and it was wrong of him to butt in. He knows she lost a good friend and he’s sorry.
Margie says she can see where Alex is coming from but she didn’t appreciate being called a liar.

SO DON’T LIE. STUPID.

Replayed footage of last night’s kerfuffle, including the epic “don’t bully people”/BULLYBULLYBULLY exchange.
Margie says she’s been a bit scarred by what Alex said and he can apologise till the cows come home and maybe one day she’ll take it on board but for now she’ll be treading around him with more caution. But she’s so filthy with him right now she’d be happy not to have him anywhere near her any time soon.
Alex says likewise!

Oh dear, this is going to make for some tense car trips!

Graham finally gets them all to head off to get some rest so they can get to training in the morning. Mostly to rescue Alex who was feeling very down about the whole thing.

Next morning the trainers are there on the paradeground and Steve’s using a megaphone to call the contestants outside. Just yell! You can do it!
Mish is hoping to see Lisa trot out of the house but of course she’s not going to. Mish looks very disappointed.

Steve, with the understatement of the year, says everyone’s looking a little upset.

The voting is revealed and Mish is devastated.
Steve asks how it went down with the girls. Michelle explains it was based on Red Team still having three members and thus three votes at Elimination.

Lydia blows up a bit in response and says she knows if she’s up for Elimination she’ll be going home, no matter who’s at the other end of the table. She thinks she’s a big enough threat that that’s a certainty, so she’s worried about losing the weight to stay safe. The other girls obviously don’t back themselves to win it, she says.
Or perhaps they’re there to get healthy and change their life, not be a miserable cow to everyone every day?

Kasey says to us that it’s alright for Lydia’s team to play the game but heaven forbid anyone else does the same!
Damn straight! How dare you, Kasey!

Gawd, the two worst people on Red are still there while Lisa’s gone home? How am I going to concentrate on the prettiness of Mish when I’m constantly getting annoyed by them?

But it’s still too quiet, Steve says. What else has happened? Alex says he said a few things in the heat of the moment to Margie that he’s since apologised for but they’re now going to keep out of each other’s way.

So there’s some frustrations? Good time to work out!
Steve takes Alex and Graham, Tiff takes Michelle and Kasey and Mish takes Lydia and Margie.

BUT THEY’RE SINGLES NOW. NOT TEAMS. NEVER FORGET. Etc.

Steve can tell the boys need to vent a bit. Graham says nobody was surprised by his vote but they were cranky about the White Team’s voting.

And it seems that’s what Lydia’s pissed about. She still thinks Alex is one of the biggest threats of the game and the White girls should have voted him. Can’t back themselves as winners if they don’t do that.

Tiff asks her girls about it and Michelle says it’s obviously affecting the team so… whatever!
Kasey doesn’t regret her decision and if she goes below the Line next week, so be it! She’s over it. Tiff says no! Not over it!
Michelle says it’s not the actual being there that’s the problem. It’s all the gameplay which Kasey is finding awful. She doesn’t feel like she’s being bullied, she says, but she used to let them manipulate her and now she’s standing up for herself.
Kasey tells us that seeing the way some of them behave because they voted someone of their team out makes her want to tell them to grow up.

I think she should tell them exactly that!

And now it’s time for the boat ride of the eliminated contestants!
On the boat is Lisa, Simon, Bek, Shane, Hamish, Ryan and… SELENA?

No. No. What the fucking hell. She was INSISTENT on going home. And said it was a great idea when she was at home. What in the hell is she doing on that boat?

BAH. BAH I SAY.

At least it’ll probably be based on fitness or weightloss or something else that will ensure she can’t get back into Camp to waste the opportunity A THIRD FRICKING TIME.

After an ad break Shannan is talking about everyone needing a second chance. Selena’s on her thirrrrrrd, Shannan. Send her straight back home please!

Anyway they rock up to a beach where Shannan’s waiting for them all, along with some Blue and White flags. Welcome to Boot Camp!
In one week’s time they’ll have a chance at winning their way back into Camp and a second chance at the title and the money.

Bek’s not sure how many spots are up for grabs but she knows one of them MUST be hers. I certainly hope it is. She’s looking gooood!

Shannan says that they’ve all done incredible jobs on the outside but they’re not quite ready to get back into Camp.
By the way, this is a secret mission. And Camp Biggest Loser is just a couple of hundred metres over thattaway!
And if they thought the contestants were a big threat before? Now they’re coming back to challenge for the money the remaining contestants have their eyes on.

Line up!

Ryan’s back. Biggest man ever to set foot in Camp Biggest Loser. Started at 241kg! He’s back to show everyone he can do this, after not doing too well the first time around.
He’s promised Shannan he’ll do anything Shannan tells him to. He’s made the promise before and didn’t live up to it and he’s not making it again lightly.
Shannan says he’ll judge him on his actions from here.

Brenda’s back too. Brenda wanted babies but missed out on babies because she was too fat and not fat from making babies just fatfat. BABIES.
She says she’ll probably cry and Shannan says that’s fine, he doesn’t mind tears! He’ll get more out of the boys anyway.

Selena’s back. She’s had a lot of ups and downs in her life. Was born almost entirely deaf.
She knows she needs to do the hard work to get anything in life. And she wants to be the healthiest nurse she can be and she’s ready to do it.

Hamish is back! He says he thinks they’ll pick up right where they left off at Camp. That was the first time he was connecting to Shannan as a trainer and being open and honest with him.
And I think Michelle being in the house still will prove a powerful motivator!

Don’t hear from Shane, Simon, Lisa and Bek. Wonder why? They not going to make it? Or just nobody much cares?

Meanwhile, back at Camp… they’re all working out on the paradeground. Still!

Alex is asked if he thinks Margie or Lydia could flip the tire he’s trying to flip and Alex thinks maybe Margie could. He eventually gets it flipped over with help from Graham.
Alex says his relationship with Graham has been a false one for many of the past weeks. He was judgemental and angry with him all the time.
Alex finally realised this week that Graham is just a gentle giant, has a good heart. And Alex has been wrong about him. He was upset with himself and was taking it out on others, treating a lot of people badly and he wants to be a good guy now. Not an arsehole anymore.
Graham says it’s good to hear that from Alex because he thought two weeks ago that Alex no longer had his back and Alex says he’ll always have his back, he’s just been an arsehole like that and always has been. But he knows he’s got to change that.

Shannan’s got them set up in Manly Fight Gym? Shannan says warriors are made there. They said they’ll do anything to get back in. Anything.

Shannan saunters over to a bench and lifts a towel. Under which there’s nine glasses and a carton of eggs.
Seen Rocky? Yep. This is what it takes to be a fighter. Raw egg, cracked into the glass, drink it down before training. Shannan says everyone knows that’s what boxers do before they train. It’s disgusting, but let’s see who’ll bring it!

Lisa’s first. She chugs it down without too much fuss. Brenda goes next and thinks of it as a pina colada and knocks it back.
Selena knocks it back without even the slightest hesitation. Maybe she really does mean business this time?
Bek was thought of as a princess in the house? What have you got to say to them? “I’m not a princess but I don’t like eggs!”
She knocks hers back as well. And then nearly brings it right back up! But she holds it together.
Shane’s not fussed at all. Hamish is excited to be having a yolk, it’s not normally in his diet.
Ryan knocks his back though he looks less than happy. Simon seems completely unfussed by it all.

They’re in Shannan’s world now. Boxing is his favourite way to train and it’s the perfect metaphor for their situation – only one winner and any hesitation you get knocked out!

Lots of heavy cardio work, punching on the heavy bags, running to the other end of the mats and doing pushups while the other half of the group do their punches, etc.
Then they’re in the ring, one person in the corner getting pummelled in the sides and arms as they block the blows and try not to leave any gaps.
Ryan’s going with some meaty punches while Hamish takes it pretty easy in return. Hit him!

Shane is punching the mitts with Shannan and Shannan’s so impressed he’s considering breaking out the gloves for some more serious sparring.
Shane’s the one with an autistic son and so that’s pushing him through every session. Shannan wants this same level of intensity in every session and Shane says he’s been doing just that on the outside for eleven or twelve weeks now. He wants to get back into Camp and see them try and send him home again!

Lisa’s in the ring with Shannan and he’s firing back some body slaps with the mitts and getting her to block them.
He says she’s got a lot of fight in her. What’s she been through in her life? Divorce, three kids, raised them on her own, then four years ago one of her sons died. Shannan says her past life experiences give her the strength to outlast everyone else in the competition.

Now it’s time for Bek’s turn in the ring. She’s very excited as she’s always wanted to get in there with him. Call her a princess now? Bek’s boxing away with a grin on her face. Shannan asks her what she’ll do if she gets knocked down? She’ll get back up!

Shannan says he’s seen a spark in them all that he’d not seen before. Some because they didn’t stay long enough, some because they needed to fire it up. But if they get back into the house those who do usually have the strength to go all the way.

Back at Camp… Time to get them good and dirty, Steve says.
They’ve got everyone bridging in the mud while one contestant crawls through underneath, then they have them lined up on their backs and rolling back and forth, lifting their feet and arms into the air every now and then.

Lydia says she’s got mud in her ears and Michelle’s ponytail (IT’S A PLAIT) is dripping mud. Lydia said it’s the dirtiest she’s ever been and she can feel the mud… everywhere.

Up the stairs they go where Commando Steve is waiting with a firehose to get them a bit less muddy before they go into the house.
Steve seems to be taking great delight in hosing them all down and Lydia says it’s every girl’s dream to get hosed down by the Commando.
Margie seems to disagree as she starts using Lydia as a human shield. Not sure the boys are too thrilled either as both keep losing their shorts!

Steve says, once the hose is off, they all still look disgusting. What do you reckon, Tiff? Tiff says they need professional help. Mish says it’s makeover time!
Everyone’s very excited. Mish seems very happy until Lydia threatens to come over and give her a big muddy hug!

Q Station? Not sure what that is but that’s where the eliminated contestants will be staying for the week. The views are spectacular!
The room they’re sleeping in? Not so much. Pretty much hospital beds. Military hospital, maybe.
It’s the absolute bare minimum they need but that’s perfect, Shannan says. When they’re not sleeping they’ll be training. When they’re not training they’ll be sleeping. And so on.

Then Shannan drops the biggest bombshell. Q Station is like, TOTALLY HAUNTED, YO.

Yeahhhhhhhhh…

Brenda says she’s glad they’re all in the one room then. Might be some extra night time cuddles, she says!

Shannan can’t be there tomorrow, he has some business to take care of, but there’s one of the best sets of stairs in the world nearby.
Simon remembers those stairs. They saw them after the midnight training session on the beach during their run back to Camp and Simon would be quite happy not to see them ever again!
While Shannan is gone he’s setting them a task. 150 laps of the stairs as a team. Lisa thinks some of the others might not realise how much of a task that will be but they’ll pull together as a team and get it done.

Shannan bids them adieu and tells them to beware of anything that goes bang in the night!

Meanwhile back at Camp the contestants have a second set of shoes and some clean clothes on after a hot shower and are heading off for their makeover.
Michelle is really excited, one of her main goals was to make it to makeover day. Graham’s never had a makeover, he says. He usually just puts on whatever and heads out the door. AS IT SHOULD BE!

The salon they go to first is called RAW, Anthony Nader’s place. Anthony greets them and says they all look wonderful. They look after local favourites such as Hugh Jackman and Miranda Kerr and international people like Gisele and Nicole Richie. That’s… quite a mix!

Graham seems to be getting his head shaved? Yikes.
Lydia’s hoping she’ll still recognise herself when she’s done. Kasey’s not even bothered putting any effort in for the last few years, she just ties her hair up and gets on with it.

Steve, Mish, Tiff AND SHANNAN rock up at Raw in their fancy threads. Mish is the fanciest of all in a sparkly silver top. Tiff has a short peach-y dress. Steve and Shannan are just in open necked shirts with jeans. Way to go, guys!

Alex has gone completely smooth on the head and Graham’s been left with just some short stubble. Alex is pleased to still have his goatee and Steve says not to worry about that! Uhoh!
Shannan says it’s good to see them all and Lydia says they’d been hoping he’d turn up and he says he’s really glad he got the chance to come see them because Makeover Day is always one of the most exciting days and he loves sharing it with the contestants.

But he’s been busy while he’s been away. He visited two of his boys back at their homes for a check in. They left under very different circumstances. James took the money and people doubted he could do it on the outside. And Luke got the boot for being a drunken idiot.
Shannan put it a bit more nicely than that.
He’s visited them both at home and they’re looking great so he’s brought them in today to share in the makeover!

Everyone looks very excited by that news which is really good to see. Lydia looks the most excited of all. Might there have been a crush going on with her and one of the other two? Hmmmm!

Simon and Lisa take the other contestants off to see the Stairs of Doom. 220 of them, Lisa says. You can’t see the top of the stairs from the bottom so it’s just a matter of trudging up there and getting it done.
Lisa and Ryan set off first with the others following along behind.

It’s raining on them as they go up the steps which isn’t a problem for most of them. Bek has apparently gone with a blue sports bra today though…

Bek says the important part is to keep pushing through the pain and getting it done.

Hamish checks on Selena during his trip down to make sure she’s going okay. Selena says she’s determined not to slack off and she thinks a lot of them were equally determined. She doesn’t want to be the person she used to be.

Hamish is actually enjoying exercise now. Back at the start he was known as the I Can’t guy but now he’s always thinking he can and he gets in there and does it.

They get to the halfway mark and they’re happy about that. But they’re getting tired and so the end seems a long way away still.
Ryan says it’s a bit like life. It’s a battle but he can’t give up on it. That’s all that keeps going through his head.

Everyone’s changed. Everyone’s a lot stronger and fitter and have come a long way, Selena says. Back in Week One they’d’ve never done anything like that.

Back in Makeover Land the girls are getting their hair did.

Shannan makes it very clear that neither boy is coming back, they’re not eligible for any money, they’re not a threat to anyone so he hopes it’s okay that he’s brought them in for makeovers because they’ve done so well on the outside.
Everyone is very receptive and even eager to bring them in.

Shannan finally brings them in and everyone’s on their feet gawking through the front windows trying to get a look.
Lydia goes straight for a big hug with Luke, despite all the hairdressing goop in her hair. A very big hug. Hello? She doesn’t seem to want to let go.

Shannan says that his boys have been working hard on the outside dropping weight but can he get something done about their heads? Sure can!

Then Steve walks in with the clippers and asks Alex if he’s ready to lose the goatee? Alex has had it for many years, has coloured it in various colours and stuff. Steve also wants to get the earrings out of his ears, too. Alex thinks it’ll be liking cutting off one of his fingers, it’s part of him!
Steve tells us Alex was using it to portray a tough guy image because on the inside he was feeling insecure. But now he’s turning his life around it’s time to see the real Alex!

Michelle says it’s very exciting watching everyone else get their hair done but her turn is coming.
Tiff says she’s hidden behind the hair, used it as a security blanket and so on. Time to stop hiding behind it, she’s confident now!

Time to brace yourself, Michelle! They hand the scissors over to Tiff to do the actual chopping since Michelle’s trusted her with everything from her nutrition to her exercise.
In the end it’s about two feet of hair Tiff’s chopped off. Michelle is very emotional, can’t look at the hair and then she reaches back to feel where the hair was and she’s in tears as she realises just how much was cut off.
Tiff says cutting off the hair is liberating and setting her free.
She doesn’t ever recall feeling beautiful before. But today is about feeling beautiful and the hair represents being brave, Tiff says. This is the last step of letting go of the old Michelle, Tiff tells her.

Mish says the contestants live in training gear and their hair is always sweaty so makeover time is time for them to feel amazing about themselves and how far they’ve come.

Lydia’s the first to see her transformation. And… eh. Her hair’s red now. And she has lipstick on. She’s still Lydia though.
She’s amazed at the change and seems pleased. She didn’t think she’d ever… what? Dunno. Mish says she’s gorgeous!

Margie’s got blonde streaks in her hair and some lip gloss on. I don’t know if she told the hairstylist she’s a lesbian but it would certainly seem so!
Margie says she’s looking pretty close to what the old Margie looked like. She says she looks human. Mish says she looks gorgeous. She’s not a girly-girl, Mish knows, but she looks fantastic!

Graham. Looks like crap, to be honest. His neck is still buried under a huge layer of fat and they haven’t managed to shave him properly as a result. But they’ve left him with a goatee which only serves to emphasise the grotesquely bloated features.
Graham seems thrilled but says he also knows it’s still a work in progress.

Luke’s got a really short haircut and a little bit of makeup it seems. He’s quite pleased but most of the change is really just from him losing the weight.
James is much the same. Natty haircut and a shave and some makeup and he looks quite different. James also got a bit of blonde put through the top of his hair and he seems thrilled by the results.

Alex is bald as a cueball but still has the earrings in. Alex sees himself in the mirror and immediately says SHIT. He wasn’t really ready to see himself, he admits.
He looks quite different without the goatee. Not sure he looks better, but quite different. Then Steve gets him to take out the earrings.
It’s been 25 years since he hasn’t had the goatee, Alex says. He says he’s wasted a lot of years. :-(
But he’s good. Alex thanks Steve for saving his life then there’s a big manly hug between the two of them. I think Steve might even be tearing up a little!

Time for Michelle’s reveal.

WOW. Seriously. She is STUNNING. Shoulder length hair with some curls in it and some subtle lippy and some pretty makeup for her eyes. Gorgeous. Hamish is a lucky manchild!

Kasey’s reveal is pretty good too. She doesn’t look like a bogan hick chick now! Got some colour in the ends of her hair and hers is curled up quite a bit more than Michelle’s.
Kasey tells us afterwards that she was blown away by how much she’s changed and she can barely choke the words out.

Tomorrow night, CLOTHES! Catwalk! Revealing their makeovers to a couple of hundred people. Yikes!
And somebody in the audience has a sign that says, “LUKE YOUR A HOTTIE”.

DRAMATIC SIGH.
