TBL 7×42 – Episode Forty Two falls on a Friday? Freaky.

Friday! That time of the week where we have a half hour show with thirteen to fourteen minutes of advertisements and five to six minutes of footage we saw earlier in the week.

Exciting!

In the actual stuff we haven’t seen, more of Margie at the trapeze session, Kasey and Michelle have a giggle about Alliances and Simon gets his makeover. Will they also show Lisa a picture of him after the makeover? If that’s not going to motivate her…!

During the replayed footage of the tire challenge Hayley calls it a “tiring challenge”. So she totally reads the Recap, right? It’s not just the most obvious pun in the world?

Now that Simon’s back home after being eliminated this week, what do his sons think of the transformation?
Simon says seeing the boys faces really made it hit home how much he’s changed in the time he’s been gone.
Oscar says it’s cool his Dad’s home and he can exercise with him now!
Simon tells us it was really tough leaving them but it’s been great coming back.

Simon’s been working hard in training and he’s really starting to enjoy it.

Going into the supermarket is tough for him as all the old temptations are right there. The chocolate aisle used to be his aisle, but not anymore!
He says sticking to the diet hasn’t really been that hard as he’s grown to love all the new foods.
He’s a new version of himself and there’s no way in hell he’ll go back to his old self.

And he’s looking forward to catching up with Lisa, having their kids meet each other and so on. Oooooh!

Now it’s time for some extra footage of Margie, who has a terrible fear of heights, trying to overcome that fear at the trapeze training session. Scariest thing in her life. Meeting Mish was a close second, she says.
She’s worried she could die. She’s a young woman, in the prime of her life, she says.

Mish and Frank the trapeze man try and get Margie to hang upside down from the bar down at ground level and she can’t even get her legs up and over. She stops and clings to Frank and says she wants to go home now.
Mish says it’s the first time she’s seen Margie so vulnerable but she just needs to get past her fear.

As we saw in the actual episode she does manage to overcome her fear and go for a swing on the high bar above the net and drop into the net afterwards. She says the tears were because she didn’t die!
But she can hear Mish up the top still asking her if she wants to go again? Margie wonders if she’s CRAZY!
But Margie does get back up there for a second time. She wants to swing around some more on the next go. Though she says she about shit her pants on the first time.
Her second attempt isn’t much more adventurous than the first, she still doesn’t leap off the platform but she swings back and forth a few times before dropping.

Now it’s time for some old footage and some new footage of the lovey dovey crap between Lisa and Simon!
It starts out with some awkward, “Hiiiiii, how’re youuuuuuuu, do you follow the footy?” In Week One. Then Week Two Simon says they’ve made a connection. And there’s been a lot of joking-flirting. They have similar back stories and have become good friends.
Lots of joking flirting, no romantic flirting, Simon says.

Week 4, still only friendship, not romance.
Week 5, we do have a relationship! It’s nice and he enjoys the connection they’ve got. Too early to talk commitment and love, yet.
Week 7, Lisa’s smile, laugh, humour, all fantastic!

Simon didn’t expect to get as close to someone as he has, but it’s been great.
He does see a future for them but you never know for sure until they both get out of Camp. He says there’s been plenty of successful relationships so they’ll see what happens.

Simon’s been looking after himself and his sons on the outside and now it’s time for Dr Swan to catch up with him.
Simon hasn’t been getting hungry, at all. Five meals through the day – three main meals and a snack – and he’s been great.

Now it’s time for THE KITCHEN OF DOOM!
Two hamburgers at a time? Plus chips? Dear god.
Terrible foods and lots of it. Simon says it’s really not a wonder he got so fat, eating like that every week. It’ll be a battle into the future, but he can’t go back to the way he was living.

Back when they first did the Bio Age Simon’s chronological age was 40 and his biological age was 54!
He’s had a birthday since starting at Camp so his chrono age is now 41.

And his new biological age? 45! So he’s regained 9 years already.
Dr Swan says the big thing now is for him to get some of the fat off his tummy, that’s the really dangerous place for fat. Not sure he really has all that much there anymore.

Dr Swan has a tip for Simon, an office worker by day, for when he returns to the workforce. He says that if you get up every 20 minutes and walk around for a few minutes, not particularly vigorously or anything, you’ll burn 20% more calories through the day.
Wow! That’s a huge tip. Dr Swan also suggests standing at his desk when he can, have standing meetings. Try and spend less time sitting down, basically.

Kasey and Michelle are now trying to discover what alliances are in play? Come on, it’s not that hard.
Kasey tells us that she thinks maybe she’s been a bit naive with the gameplay side of things but her and Michelle have never even really talked about such things.

Kasey asks Michelle how you even start an alliance? Do you just go up and ask them? Michelle suggests, “Will you be my friiiiiiiiiiiiiiend?”

Kasey thinks she’s the dark horse of the competition, they all see Michelle as the bigger threat for some reason.
Michelle tells us they’re so innocent they’ve got no idea about alliances so they’re just going to stick together.

Time for Simon to get his makeover with Sammy!
First order of business, getting him a shave! Simon insists on keeping his little chin tuft. I guess Lisa digs it? Hmm.

Sammy’s thinking of some eyeliner and eyeshadow for Simon? Simon says that would be FABULOUS, but seriously? Sam relents and says just some moisturising and eyebrow care then.

Simon says he doesn’t feel the judgement anymore when he’s out in public. People don’t see him as the big giant man who doesn’t take care of himself anymore.
Simon’s all suited up and he says it’s been a while since he’s worn a suit so he’s not sure what this is going to look like but he remembers what it was like at the start and that was really awful.

Now he’s looking quite the dapper gentleman! Has a nice black suit on with a striped blue tie on. Very refined and handsome.
Also a really good disguise for what’s left of his belly. Some of his alternate outfits don’t hide that so well.

Simon’s really looking forward to the Finale now because if he’s looking that great now he’ll be SMOKIN’ by then!

And that’s all she wrote!

Don’t forget The Biggest Loser is now on Sunday nights as well! 6.30pm. Channel 10. You’ll want to watch as they’re moving Eliminations until that night.
But the Recap will be here if you forget. It’s always here. Watching you. Judging.
