TBL 7×40 – Mmmmm, fancy patisserie treats.

Previously on The Biggest Loser some contestants faced their fears on the trapeze and others faced them on a rock climbing wall.
Then Lisa went on to dominate at the Contest leading to her second Walk in as many weeks.

Tonight we find out what mischief she gets to inflict on everyone this week. And then later it’s time for Temptation. With more than one Immunity on offer it’s a safe bet there’ll be some sorely tempted contestants this week!

As the trainers file into Loser Lounge they notice Lisa’s missing. Or, as Tiff puts it, they’re missing a munchkin.
Lisa’s off on The Walk, of course. Alex is very nervous. He’s worried he might end up chained to Steve all week!

Lisa says she’s chosen the Mystery option again, when she finally arrives back at Camp. Alex buries his head in the lounge and waits for the bad news.
But no! Not bad news. Choose one contestant to have exclusive access to a trainer until the weigh in.

Lisa has, of course, taken it for herself. And she’s picked Mish as her trainer, of course.

Now Margie and Lydia have to choose a trainer that will have them for the rest of the week. Lydia and Margie look less than thrilled by this!
Steve suggests that the teams join forces and train together, two trainers for all of the other six. Lots of pushing and training from them both.

Tiff and Steve seem excited! Lydia’s having a grump about the game changing on her all the time any time she feels like she’s getting ahead. Awwwwwwwwwww.

Tiff and Steve have them in the big gym on the treadmills and spinbikes and crosstrainers. Tiff says to them that Lisa has a big advantage so they’ve got to work hard!

Steve’s looking to find out which of the contestants is ready to step up to the challenge.

Margie seems up to the challenge. She says she’s actually excited to have Steve training her because he smashes absolutely everyone and does involve a lot of weight training, which she likes.
He’s in her face on the treadmill and Margie says it’s great, she respects him a lot and having him barking orders made her want to go harder and faster.

They’re on the floor doing some kind of weird bellyflop pushup hybrid thing. Kasey’s struggling to do them very fast but Margie’s absolutely smashing them out. Steve’s impressed, says she’s a machine. She’s got the fitness, strength and the mental attitude and toughness is starting to come.

Margie’s going to bring everything she’s got to the training sessions this week with Commando Steve. She’s looking forward to proving she’s a strong competitor.

The contestants all look pretty stuffed after the training session so it seems the idea of combining the two trainers has paid off.

Mish is excited to have Lisa one on one all this week. Lisa’s not been getting the results they’d been hoping for on the scales so they are going back to basics. Going over her meal plans and snacks.
They’ve got some snacks out on the kitchen bench to chat about. Mish says that people overcomplicate the snacks thing and that there’s aisles of snackfood in the supermarket that we just really don’t need.

I’m assuming she is not speaking of the COOKIE AISLE.

Prior to coming to Camp Lisa’s snacking was way out of control and mostly chocolate biscuits, chips, chocolate, cola and the like. All high in calories and low in nutrition.
Mish often has a tub of low fat or no fat yoghurt for an afternoon snack. One or two pieces of fruit a day. A punnet of blueberries is only 75-80 calories.
Mish even sometimes just has a tin of tuna to eat for a snack. Urgh.

Sometimes she just has a cup of tea! She often feels like she might be hungry but she has a cup of tea and realises she wasn’t really that hungry after all.

It also helps to get some vitamins into your diet. Here’s some from Nature’s Way! How convenient!
Vitamin D3, Magnesium and Super Krill Oil. Vitamin D is the sunshine vitamin. It says so on the bottle.

Lisa’s going back on her week one diet plan with the back to basics snacking only to try and get her back on track.

But now it’s time for training! One on one training! Is she prepared to do all the work she has to? Of course, she says. But ask her again when she’s done.
Mish is trying to make sure Lisa’s head is back in the game this week, after almost getting herself sent home at Elimination.
Mish asks her why she thinks she got picked to compete at The Contest. They thought she was weak, but she won.

Mish says that Lisa’s her poster girl for 42 year old women with three kids who can’t lose weight or get fit or get healthy or just put themselves first.

Mish tells her there’s a reason they tell you to put your own oxygen mask on first before trying to help others. It’s not them suggesting you be selfish, you’ve got to look after yourself so you can look after others.
Lisa says it’s hard when you’re a Mum because you get used to putting your kids first and then you start putting other people first without even realising it. Lisa says it’s time for her to look after herself, she gets that, but she’s trying to break the old habit.
Mish says she’s started doing that already. She could have given the one on one training to someone else but she didn’t. She picked it for herself. Lisa says putting herself first felt good.

After the training session Mish goes to check in on Lydia. She spots straight away that Lydia’s struggling a bit.
Lydia says a week without training with Mish will throw her a bit but she has trained with Tiff and Steve before so it’s not totally alien to her.

Mish teases her about the control being taken away from her, oh no!

Lydia doesn’t want to leave the house skinny without also changing her mental attitude. She’s very judgemental of people, she knows. Cue replay footage from Week One where Lydia was the first to stick the boot into Selena.
To be fair, Selena needed to have the boot stuck in so I don’t know you should feel too bad about that one, Lydia!
She says she’s also been ganging up on people and being critical of people. It’s not the person she wants to be anymore but she doesn’t know how to stop being that person and start being a different one.

Yeah, that’s a tough one. Fake it till nobody knows the difference, in my experience.

Mish thinks that her weight may have made the attributes worse because she’s angry with herself and then takes it out on others. And that the angry traits might have also stopped her from finding someone to have a relationship with.
Lydia thinks all the things she finds difficult in other people are things she dislikes about herself and that’s how she’s gotten to where she is.
Lydia tells us that her friends would pin her judgemental nature as her worst attribute, too. Some friends they are!

Lydia feels angry all the time because she’s not the person she wants to be and she knows that she’s not.
So what are they going to do, Mish asks? To move her forward out of the behaviour.
Lydia doesn’t want the other people in the house to be frightened or intimidated by her when she’s having a moment. Maybe she should share that with them, Mish suggests.

Lydia’s not sure what she’d say to them. She eventually decides she should say sorry to them all because the person she’s been up till now isn’t the person she wants to be. Mish says that’s perfect.

So off they go to Loser Lounge so Lydia can reveal some of her inner demons. Going to be honest and open about some of her traits she’s not so proud of.
Mish tells them they’d spent some time together and they made a breakthrough and part of it is that Lydia needs to have a chat to them and share it with them.
So Mish is going to leave her to do that.

Lydia says they all wanted to lose weight and be better people and so on. Lydia wanted to try and change the person she was when she came in. She doesn’t like the person she was and she doesn’t like the way she behaves and she knows she’s made the house not a pleasant place to be, at times.
She says one of the hardest things for her was to realise how judgemental she is of other people and that she’s never been the person she wants to be?

Graham says he hasn’t noticed that of her. They’ve all had their moments. He’s not sure what made her think like that but she’s been a great friend. She inspires him. Don’t put yourself down, he says. She doesn’t deserve it.
Lisa suggests maybe they’ve lost sight of the fun side a bit, all the politics and scheming. Time to let it go and have some fun.

Margie’s face says she’s not really buying it. It’s subtle, but I think she thinks they’re actually plotting!

Everyone’s pretty quiet afterwards and so Lydia’s not sure how everyone’s going to feel about it all.

But now it’s time for Temptation. In the Loser Lounge this time. It’s Patisserie de la Temptation!

There’s cakes and macaroons and dessert tarts, Lisa says. All the food she really likes!

Time for a desserty Temptation. And not just any desserts, desserts from Adriano Zumbo’s Sweet Treats!

Lydia looks VERY EXCITED. Hayley asks her what she likes most about Adriano? His cakes!

Then Hayley announces there’s not just one Immunity up for grabs, there’s two. And with there only being seven contestants remaining, that’s a valuable prize, Margie says.
But it’s not two separate Immunities. The winner of Temptation will win Immunity for themselves. And another Immunity to give to whoever they want.

With two guaranteed above the Yellow Line the pressure will be on for the remaining three slots above the Line, Lisa tells us.

They can eat as much or as little as they like at Temptation and of course whoever consumes the most calories will win the two Immunities.

But there’s a catch, Hayley says. It’s another blind Temptation, they visit the Patisserie alone. And if nobody eats then Immunity stays with Margie. Margie tells them all not to eat!

Margie knows that’s not going to happen though. She knows some of the others will play.

Lisa’s the first to face Temptation. The serving boy says bonjour!
Lisa says it’s all so bad, serving boy says it could be so good!

Lisa’s struggling while serving boy tries to tempt her. Just one? No, Mish will kill her!
She still has 20kg to lose so she’s doing everything she can to ensure she does well this week. So no, not taking part.

Okay, au revoir!

Margie’s second into the room. She says her chins are coming back just looking at them. She’s tempted by everything on the table.
She has a harsh trainer, she tells serving boy. She’s looking really hard at some Milo Macarons. They’re a really lurid green biscuit-y thing with I guess some kind of milo cream in the middle?

Margie finally caves in and has one of the milo macarons after an ad break. She says it’s like a party in her mouth. She loves milo ordinarily and having it in the biscuit it was delicious!
Margie tells the boy that, after burying her face in her hands wondering what she’s done. Serving boy suggests maybe having another one?

Margie thinks the only way to avoid eating ALL the cakes is to leave immediately. She keeps thinking of what Mish will do to her when she finds out.

Kasey wanders in and says she’s really tempted by the pavlova, of all the things, but she’s going to pass on the chance to have one. Really think she should have gone for something, get Immunity for herself and Michelle…

Graham says it all looks very delicious, where he’s from they don’t even have most of that stuff. But he’s not a real dessert person.
Wow. How’d he get so fat without desserts? Boggles the mind, doesn’t it?

Graham shakes serving boy’s hand, tells him they all look good but… Off he goes. Au revoir!

Alex asks if everything’s fresh and of course they all are. So he’ll walk out without taking any so Steve won’t murder him, right?

Nope, apple danish! It’s… like any other apple danish you’d get elsewhere. Nothing fancy. Not sure how many calories it has, don’t get to see that at the time.
Alex has never taken Temptation before but he decided to have a go, see what happens this time.
As he tucks into the danish he looks over at the serving boy and gives a hearty nod of approval. Alex tells us he’s hoping he can have his cake and Immunity too! Harharhar!

Next up is Michelle to have a look at them all. She says they all look so good and keeps saying “Oh wow!”
This is all the sort of stuff that got her into this in the first place. So she’s worried about facing Temptation.
She feels like she needs Immunity because she doesn’t feel too safe in the competition and if she was going to take it any week, this is the one to take it.

She finally settles on a piece of chocolate… cake? Not sure. It has tempered chocolate pieces on the side and chocolate cherries on top? And… oh it’s not cake, it’s some kind of pudding inside?
It looks amazingly delicious. Maybe it’s cake, Michelle says she would have easily eaten that cake before and not given it a second thought. By the time she gets to the third bite she’s already full now. She’s realising how much she’s changed as a result, she can’t eat anywhere near as much.
She manages to polish it off and gets out of there, hoping she’s eaten enough.

Lydia says Temptation is about taking the easy path, in her mind. So she’s never taken part before. But she knows that without Immunity she’ll have a hard time staying above the Yellow Line.
So she’s starting with a citrus tart. Will she keep going after that though?
She says it’s the nicest lemon tart she’s ever had in her entire life.
She figures the other people who might play probably wouldn’t take a huge amount of calories in.

So after she finishes the tart she goes back for another dish.
Next is a salted caramel macaroon? Which is also delicious, she says.

And then? She needs her chocolate fix that she hasn’t had since coming on the show. So she has some chocolate coated macaroon thingy as well.

And then? Then she’s finally done. Crikey. She’s stopping there hoping she’s had enough without giving her too many calories to burn off.

Now it’s time for the post-Temptation lineup.

Hayley says that four of them were tempted in the end.

And we’ll start with revealing Margie’s level of indulgence.
Margie had a total of 82 calories. Not too bad. But not enough, Hayley says. Not nearly enough to win Temptation. Margie seems quite surprised. Not sure why. Nobody would want her to keep Immunity.

Alex does have a sweet tooth, Hayley says. Alex admits it, finally.
He ate the apple danish, worth 225 calories. Nice!

Not a winner, either.

Two people went quite a bit further. Wonder who they were?

Lydia and Michelle, Hayley announces.

Let’s start with Lydia!

Lydia’s citrus tart was 419 calories. HOLY CRAP.
Then the salted butter caramel “zumbaron”. Yeah, it’s a macarooooon. Anyway, 80 calories.
Then a milk chocaroon. 109 calories.
Total: 608 calories.

Michelle has a slightly sheepish look on her face.
Lydia’s 608 calories weren’t enough to win her Immunity.

Michelle’s cake thing is called the “V8 Diesel”. And it contains a staggering 850 calories.
Lydia is PISSED. Serves you right, stupidhead!

Michelle’s now won Immunity! Hooray!
Michelle says she feels really bad but the cake was SO GOOD. It’s her goodbye cake though. Worth every bite.

She’s glad she can now relax a bit this week. Not so sure about that…

Now, who’ll you give your second Immunity to? She says it’s a really tough decision.

The hell it is. You pick Kasey. So you can be sure you’ll wipe out a Red or Black at Elimination. You knob.

Anyway, we don’t find out tonight, of course!

Tomorrow night Michelle will struggle in training after her big chocolate hit.
And Margie and Lydia are going to throw themselves on Commando Steve’s mercy for their training session. That’s going to be a mistake!

And, at last, SHANNAN! Shannan goes off to check on James’ progress since leaving the competition. And he’s going to find him at a gym. How convenient and not at all staged!

Also the weekly challenge kicks off and seems to involve lifting tires onto poles and taking them back off and putting them on other poles and I don’t even know. Perhaps move them from one pole to the next in the row of poles?
Find out tomorrow night!
