TBL 7×22 – Freakin’ Friday Flashback Fest!
It’s Friday, Friday, now I gotta recap on Friday. I am really looking forward to the weekend!
This week’s seen quite a bit of activity but know what’s coming on Monday it all seems a little calm-before-the-storm.
But nevermind all that, this week saw Ryan eliminated, Luke, Lydia and Hamish getting 24 hour leave passes from Camp and a whole lot of drama within the Blue and White Teams during the weekly challenge.
Tonight Hamish finally toughens up in training. Lurrrrrrrrrrrve in the house with some more Lisa/Simon shenanigans. And Commando Steve gets militaristic with his Team.
Also a catchup with Ryan and a minimakeover for the biggest contestant in history.
But before any of that let’s see a bunch of footage we saw earlier in the week yay! -_-
“Mummyyyy!” Okay. I’ll recap that bit. Because it was SO. FUCKING. STUPID. And it’s going to get replayed again on Monday, no doubt!
Ryan lost 35kg in 4 weeks at Camp but is he keeping it up on the outside?
Well, he’s walking around with a medicine ball. And running as best he can. And going to Fitness First.
He’s back at work so he’s only getting 1-2 hours training per day. Usually a PT session in the morning and then another hour in the gym after work or some laps around the block.
He doesn’t see his food as “a diet” any more, it’s just his food and he’s really enjoying it. And he’s proud he took the step of going onto the show.
Ryan’s workplace is also getting in on getting him fit. He works at some kind of call centre. Emma, his boss lady, is encouraging him to stand up and be active a bit more often. Not sure standing at your desk using your computer is a particularly good idea.
They’re also checking on the vending machine regularly to make sure he’s not being tempted by it.
Ryan finds the hardest bit to be when they’re having special things like afternoon teas in the office and there’s delicious nibblies there. Why can’t his friendly workmates eat some healthy crap to help him? Instead of putting them all in front of him and congratulating him like he’s a pet when he doesn’t eat any candy…
Black’s having a bit of trouble working up the enthusiasm to keep training so Commando’s going to give them a unique workout today.
He wanders into their room to do an inspection and there’s rice on the floor?! He, quite rightly, wonders what rice is doing in the room at all!
Shoes aren’t to be kept in the cupboards.
Where’s the hospital corners on the bedsheets, Alex? None of them have beds done to Steve’s satisfaction. Simon tells us Steve was raised in a military lifestyle and he still lives that today. Alex bets his house is perfect, even his underpants are probably folded.
Come on, it doesn’t take that much effort to fold undies you lazy bum!
There’s three spinbikes outside their room and Steve’s giving them 3 minutes to do a kilometre on the bikes and then make their beds.
Alex says the 1KM on the bike wasn’t too hard but making the bed afterwards was!
Graham’s got his fitted sheet onto his bed… upside-down! Inside-out!
Simon says he’s not in the Army, doesn’t know why he has to make his bed like he is and he just hopes Steve doesn’t go into his sock&jock draw.
Hiding the love letters from Lisa in there, are we?
Seven minutes and forty seconds, Steve announces. So they’re doing it again! Unmake the beds, go out and do more cycling, come in and make the beds again.
They do it faster the second time around but Steve says they better have the room shipshape the next time he comes in or he’ll throw the whole room over the balcony and they’ll have to start all over again.
Graham says it was tough but now he knows how to do hospital corners!
Some of the contestants are growing pretty close but some feelings are going a bit deeper than others.
At a previous Temptation we heard that Lisa was getting quite close to Simon and they’ve been keeping a close eye on the romance, Hayley says.
We get some footage from back on Day One now. With Lisa fluttering her face in front of her hand about some of the Black Team.
Then a replay of the bit where Red discovers the old picture of Simon when he was young and handsome.
Then footage of… dude, are they kissing in the hallway? What are they, 14? Bwahaha!
Margie says they’ve been giving each other little kisses which is a bit hard to watch, especially when eating breakfast.
Simon says four weeks ago he’d’ve never put himself out there but now he’s finding some confidence he’s making steps in that direction. Lisa got hurt when her marriage broke down and so she’s been single for 17 years. She never thought she’d have anything again.
Then a replay of Lisa saying Simon’s teaching her to trust again. Lisa was trying to be coy, she says, but it didn’t really work too well.
Now it’s time for Dr Swan to catch up with Ryan. He’s sticking to the diet Shannan set out for him like it’s a religion.
1,000 calories a day. Two weet-bix in the morning. Lunch is ham, chicken or fish with some salad. Dinner is 200g of meat with some vegetables.
And Ryan’s finding he’s not getting hungry. It’s good food, small portions of meat but lots and lots of salad and vegetables.
And now it’s time to go to the kitchen where there’s a table with Ryan’s previous weekly food intake and… god, that doesn’t even look possible. Dr Swan says there’s 40 or 50 thousand calories on the table. And Ryan’s gone down to 7,000 a week.
Dr Swan says there’s a lot of brown foods on the table and they apparently contain something called “agers”. Which make you age faster. Apparently.
Going back to that would be signing his death warrant, Ryan says.
After an ad break we’re going to get a catch up with Ryan’s new bio age.
His chrono age is 29. His original bio age was 44.
Now? 38. So he’s pulled it back 6 years so far. Which is a great effort for just four weeks.
Ryan’s going to use it as motivation to keep pushing forward.
Dr Swan tells him to have a 20 year goal, not just a one year goal.
Since appearing on the show he’s lost 47kg. He’s gone from 241kg to 194kg. So he’s on the way!
Hamish was desperate for a leave pass and he ate 1,800 calories at Temptation to do it? I thought it was around 900 he did for that?
Anyway, he’d been branded a Mummy’s boy as a result of his ridiculous need to see his Mum and so he was desperate to win back respect from his team.
Except that’s not quite right. He ate all those calories to get the night away from Camp with Michelle and Immunity. How can I tell? Because the Blue and Black Teams are training together meaning it was still Boys vs Girls week.
INCONSISTENCY. RARRRRRRR!
Hamish bounds into the boxing ring for his training session and has a bit of a smile on his face even, Shannan says. Shannan’s even sparring with him a bit. Mostly blocking Hamish’s punches with his own gloves and occasionally slapping out without too much power behind the shots, just to keep Hamish moving around.
Not a baby anymore, Shannan asks? Nooo! Etc. Lots of punching. He’s a fighter now. He’s Hamish. Who’s he? Awesome!
Shannan’s obviously very happy with the transformation. Will he be as happy after he learns Hamish ate a bunch of chocolate to get a hug from his Mum?
Now it’s time for Ryan’s makeover with the super hot Sammy from a previous season.
Sammy asks him if he’s seeing the differences and Ryan says he is. It’s slow, but he is. And other people are starting to acknowledge the hard work he’s been doing. He knows he’s been putting in the hard work but it’s good to hear other people acknowledge it.
Sammy says it’s time to start the makeover and the first order of business is to have a shave. GOOD GIRL, SAMMY. God that’s an ugly growth on Ryan’s face.
Looks quite different without the bear. Still a big man but much less like a big hobo.
Lip conditioner, not lip gloss, plus moisturiser for the face.
A snazzy suit jacket and a striped shirt complete the makeover.
Ryan says he doesn’t even recognise the guy in the mirror. But he feels really good about the way it’s turned out.
Ryan says he didn’t have any love in his life before coming on the show but his outlook is improving now.
Sammy tells him he looks fantastic and she can’t wait to see him at Finale.
Sammy’s got the long, black wavy hair still. And a very pretty black dress with white spots. So, so pretty! N’awww!
And that’s all for tonight. Tune in again on Monday night to find out who went too far in the post-challenge partying and ends up being evicted from Camp.
Hint: It’s someone who’s still at Camp! :-o
