TBL 7×19 – How many bricks could a fat chick shift if a fat chick could shift bricks?

Previously on The Biggest Loser Ryan put himself forward for Elimination and was of course sent home because he’s the biggest in the game and the laziest and less liked than Graham!

Tonight! Lots more training and another Contest kicks off. The prize is a 24 hour leave pass from Camp but to get it they need to be the fastest to move a tonne of bricks.

For those unfamiliar with the weight of a tonne of bricks it’s a bit more than 4 Ryans at the start of the show.

The competition is back to four teams again this week. And if they play their cards right they might have an easier path to the next week. But Hayley’s not going to reveal what she means by that just yet…

Blue and Black are waiting in Loser Lounge for the contestants to come back.
Margie says Ryan told them he’d put himself up because he hadn’t been doing the work and Luke had. Luke knows that it didn’t matter which of them went up, they’d be gone. Nobody was going to vote for Graham because he’s loveable. Awww!

Luke says to the others that he should have been up there today. They’d had an agreement that the lowest percentage would go up. Luke thinks some might see it as him going against what they’d agreed to, but he has no regrets because at the end of the day he’s still there.
Wouldn’t’ve killed you to say you’re sorry Ryan left in your place. Bek thinks Luke is playing the game harder than anyone else.

Shannan walks into the spin gym and sees Ryan is missing. Luke explains to Shannan that he said to Ryan he didn’t want to leave after the work he’d put in that week and Ryan said he’d put himself up instead, he’d already decided that earlier in the day.
Hamish isn’t sure if he should admit this to Shannan but he tells him that Ryan already had his clothes out and ready to be packed before they went to weigh-in. Hamish told him he’s got to be serious, you’ve got to keep trying, etc.

Shannan’s disappointed he couldn’t get the penny to drop for Ryan. He’s the first one he really feels like he’s let down.
And if the Blue Team wants to stay in the comp they need to learn to fight. Otherwise they’re going to be picked off as the weeks go on.

Hamish thinks there’s a big difference in fitness levels between himself and Luke. They’re going head to head on the spinbikes. Every time Luke gets ahead of him Hamish picks up the effort and catches back up. Hamish is giving it his best and is going to keep pushing to try and keep up with Luke.
Before coming to Camp Shannan says Hamish only had one mate that he saw once a month. Here he’s surrounded by people. And he’s even been on a “date”!
Shannan says Hamish has even got a cheeky, confident grin on his face when he turns up for training now. Shannan’s obviously thrilled by the change in Hamish.

At the end of their little mini-circuit thing they have to do pushups and… man, Shannan lets them get away with some weak-ass excuses for pushups! Hamish’s elbows are barely bending before he pushes back up!
Luke manages to finish just ahead of Hamish but Hamish tells us he’s going into this week confident he’ll give Luke a run for his money this week.

Mish runs into the gym and jumps in like a ninja. Red Team is back! Mish had fun with the Pink Team but it’s good to be back with just her girls.
Lydia was disappointed by her weightloss this week. Mish says she’s actually quite happy because it means Lydia should be due for a cracker of a week this week. And they’re going to be aiming for… NINE KILOGRAMS?
Mish, you gone crazy? That’s crazy!

Lydia looks a little dubious and says to Mish she needs her now more than ever. She’s worried that her friends and family will see her poor result this week and think less of her, since they don’t get to see all the hard work she puts in at other times.
We get some Biggest Brother spycam footage of Lydia working out by herself a couple of times.
Lydia’s still ruled by what other people think, Mish says. When’s she going to let go of that? Screw them! They’re not thinking that anyway. Guarantee it, Mish says.

Today they’re going to cart around 10kg backpacks. Mish wants to show them how much more work it is carrying around the extra weight and all of them were actually carrying around more than that before starting Camp.
Lydia having the extra 10kg on is surprising her because it feels like so much more than that and yet she used to actually weigh even more than that?!

Steve’s not too happy with his boys. They didn’t lose enough weight and they keep getting on the scales saying they could have done more. And Steve’s had enough of that, wants them to shut up and do the work.
Steve asks them all, without meaning to give offense to the women in the competition, but how are the girls losing better numbers than his team of boys?

It’s taken Graham three years to work up the courage to get himself onto the show. He had a few bouts of depression and turned to food and that’s how he put a lot of his weight on.
Steve tells him if they fall below the Line again that three years will have been wasted. Steve was disappointed in Graham’s loss. He was the smallest loser of the group and so he’s expecting a bigger number from him this week!
Steve takes Graham off for some individual training and has the other boys keep going on the spinbikes.

Meanwhile we go back to Red with Mish having a chat to Lydia about being rattled by the last weigh-in. That feeling’s got to go, she has to let go of needing control over everything. Margie reckons Lydia will be an unstoppable force once that happens.
Mish tells her she has three people who have her back and Lydia knows that but she needs some time to process that. Mish says they’ll just keep proving they’re there for her, then.
Mish tells us she believes Lydia can lose 9kg this week and she’s going to bring it!

Steve wants Graham to stop using excuses when he gets on the scales. Stop verbalising the excuses, legitimate or not, and start living the new reality. He wants to change his life? Start working harder!
Graham’s proud to be on Commando’s team but he knows he’s not showing it to him at the moment.

Steve’s giving him a whipping in the little circuit he’s set up.
Simon says Graham’s always talking about how he wants a family but if he wants to do that he’s got to start thinking like an athlete, not a fat bloke who’s got a bit of pain.

Graham is rowing away and then falls off as the seat is slick with sweat. Ew.
Steve doesn’t trust his team because when he’s not there they’re not doing the work. Cue more Biggest Brother footage of them slacking off. And a very suggestive one of Lisa sprawled beside Simon with her elbow resting right on his crotch. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

So since they’re not holding up that end of the bargain Steve has drawn up a chart for them to record their training on for him.
Simon says to the boys afterwards that he’s had enough and they have to do it, for themselves.

But for now it’s time for everyone to head up to the oval for The Contest!

Hayley’s there to announce that Camp Biggest Loser is always full of surprises and this is another one – Welcome to Immunity Week!
Immunity week means there’s more than one Immunity up for grabs. Three, in fact!

White is the only four member team left, so they’re going to be seen as a big threat, Bek says. Luke knows he can’t trust anyone to save him if they face Elimination again.

But that’s not all. Along with Immunity comes a 24 hour leave pass! The winner of each Immunity will be able to leave Camp for 24 hours and go wherever they want. Go shopping, go to a pub, stay in a hotel. Or even go home!
After four weeks at Camp they’re probably all missing their loved ones. Wouldn’t you like a hug or a kiss from them, Hayley asks?

Michelle would love even an hour at home. Simon would love to see his boys again. He hopes they’re doing okay but he’d like to see them. The unknown is distracting.
Alex? Alex would go straight to Flemington and have a punt on the races, he says.

Today’s a very special Contest. They’ll all be competing as individuals.
Luke says he’s been competing as part of a team since Day One but now that he doesn’t have to push the others to succeed he only has to focus on his own effort and maybe that’ll get him through.

Each contestant will start with a one tonne pallet of bricks. Most of Alex’s friends at home are bricklayers, apparently. Strong young lads, he says.
Um. Okay.

Transfer the bricks from one end of the oval to the other where there’s another platform waiting to receive your bricks.
Lydia will have to sit out due to medical advice. Has injuries in her feet, ankles and hamstrings. Crikey!

Simon figures Luke and Margie are his main competitors but he thinks he’s in with a chance.

Luke sees Margie has taken six bricks on her first run while he only took five. He’s been pipped at the post too many times and he wants to show he can win.
Graham says they were told they can only carry six bricks at a time and he knows if he doesn’t do six he’ll be left behind.

Bek’s Dad was a bricklayer so she’s hoping she’s somehow genetically predisposed towards being able to carry bricks.
It certainly doesn’t look it when they go tumbling to the ground on her. She says she’s surprised at just how heavy they are.

Margie’s not letting Luke have the win easily. Luke has Margie and Simon on either side of him so he’s pleased he can keep an eye on both of their progress.
Simon’s fallen a few laps behind so he’s focusing more on doing the job properly, stacking the bricks neatly and so on. That way if Margie or Luke fall he’ll do a Bradbury and come through for the win.

Alex says there’s still a few of them struggling with injuries, he still has the boot on for challenges, Graham has a sore leg of some kind and Lydia almost had a stress fracture of her foot?

Hamish says he thought Michelle kept winking at him but apparently it was just some dust in her eye. Bwah!

Alex says everything is burning, arms, legs, even his head. But he just had to keep going.
Alex is also having a look around and it’s hard to tell who’s ahead. Luke’s stack is nice and neat but Margie’s is a mess. Apparently she’s quite untidy and doesn’t care about that. Have we seen Margie’s bedroom, Alex asks? Thankfully we have not, but you’d think Lisa at least would have told her to clean up a bit if it’s that messy?

Margie thinks her stack is beautiful. Hayley asks if she’s worried it might fall over but Margie tells her to have faith in Margie.
Luke’s worried that Margie’s stack might topple over and take his with it. Simon’s wishing he could get away with chucking a brick at Margie’s stack.

Simon’s down to his final row of bricks but he can see Luke and Margie are both well ahead of him. He’s going to try and pick up the pace anyway.

Margie sees Luke walking with some bricks and Luke’s got a sort of constipated look on his face, Margie said. She thinks he’s in a bit of pain and that maybe she can win it yet.
Bek tells us that the girls have decided Luke is the next one they need to knock out if they can and so she’s quietly hoping Margie can knock him out of the running here.

Luke picks up what seems to be his last six bricks, with a very loud groan. As he starts his trip back he hollers out that he’s coming home!
Margie’s a little disappointed she didn’t win but thinks it’s great to see Luke so excited. Well done to him!

And Luke is totally knackered afterwards. Gets many hugs from everyone and congratulations.
Luke’s really happy that he gave 100% and is finally getting rewarded for it.

Hayley says he moved one tonne of bricks 30 metres in about 30 minutes. Not bad!
Luke says he’ll be at the pub tonight for ONE DRINK. But his family will be his first port of call. We get a replay of Luke at home with his folks and the difference to his current appearance is already quite amazing.
Luke says his Mum won’t be able to talk because she’ll be crying like he is. His Dad will shed a tear and tell him he’s proud. Awwww!

Off you go, Luke!

Bek says she hopes he goes home and drinks as much beer and eats as much food as he can and so maybe he’ll put on weight.
Bek, you’re making it really hard for me to keep loving you…

Two Immunities still to be earned. Stay on your toes, guys. You never know when the next chance might pop up!

Luke is excited to be heading home to see his family and friends. Off he goes, ringing his Dad from the car on the way over.
He’s lost over 18kg so far and thinks his Mum and Dad will be super proud of him. We’ll see!

He finds his Dad first and his Dad seems pleased and can’t wait to take Luke off to see his Mum and his friends. He used to work there so quite a few other people recognise him, too.
Once he gets around to saying hello to everyone he asks who’s buying him a beer. Someone says he’s not allowed but Shannan’s told him he can have one, so long as it’s a low carb one.
Luke says he can see in his Dad’s eyes that he’s proud of him, because of what he’s done, not just because he’s his son.

You can have one or two beers, Shannan is telling us he’d told Luke. He knows this is going to be a challenge for Luke, being back in his familiar setting with friends.
Then Luke starts telling us that on the plane he’d been working out how many calories he’d had that day. And how much exercise he’d done. He’s a fair way ahead, he says.
Before going to Camp he’d go out and spend $400 in a night on alcohol. So five beers is nothing to him.

Not sure Shannan’s going to share that point of view!

Simon, Hamish and Lisa are heading down for breakfast and they discover a letter on the way to the kitchen. Time to rally the troops and see what it says this time!

Everyone’s a little worried about what the letter contains.

Contestants, no time for breakfast this morning. Surprise! Meet Hayley in the Weigh-In Room!
Lots of stunned looks. Lisa bets it’s a weigh-in because she feels fat today. Much laughter ensues!

Everyone shuffles into the Weigh-In Room and Hayley’s standing on her podium. It was only a few days ago that they weighed in and now they’ll be getting on the scales again today!
Lydia’s worried after her poor result last time…

Tomorrow night at the weigh-in… Someone’s going to lose no weight, someone’s going to gain weight, surprises all round!
Then training with some of the Manly Sea Eagles. Margie’s very excited as she loves her footy.
And then? And then Temptation! Chocolate-y Temptation. With blindfolds on everyone. So nobody knows who’s eating.

That never ends well!
