TBL 7×16 – Temptation! Both of the food and the squidgysquidgy love kind!

Previously on The Biggest Loser the boys have been made to eat orange things all week. Which makes a change from them usually only eating orange things after the finale.

Also a fancypants Temptation kicked off. Lydia tried some crazy strategy that was no kind of strategy at all, as proven by Hamish screwing up her lame plan.
Hamish is now in the final faceoff with Ryan, Mr Voiceover Man says. But did we even see Hamish face off with Michelle yet?

Anyway. Later in the episode the weekly challenge kicks off and even though Loser will be on tomorrow night we will still have to wait until Monday to find out who wins, pffft!

Hamish is recapping the situation as it stands and he says there’s two people still to go, meaning Ryan isn’t in the final faceoff with Hamish. Mr Voiceover Man is a stupidhead.

As things pick up Ryan is sure he’s going to play but not sure if Hamish will do so. As Hayley rings her bell Ryan’s giant lump of meat where his hand should be grabs at the spoon but Hamish is right on the ball, grabbing it straight away.
Ryan’s now left wondering how many earlier bits Hamish has had to eat and thinks Commando AND Shannan will be giving Hamish a hard time. Because they’re one team.
Hamish has a smirk on his face and asks Ryan if he’s jealous. Ryan says nope, and he won’t be jealous when Hamish is crying.

Yeah, he’s getting a night away for sexy times with Michelle. Tears later, snogging first!

Hamish is sort of playing with his food, Ryan tells us. He’s obviously pretty peeved at Hamish spoiling his plan to get Immunity.
Ryan’s not feeling very safe now because he’s the biggest guy and will have to drop big numbers.

Yeah. Like you should have been from the start. Lazy git.

Hamish has been in control for four rounds and consumed 1,873 calories! Crazy.

Hayley says he’s one more dish away from winning Immunity and a night away from Camp Biggest Loser. Hamish is just hoping the final thing isn’t a croque embouche!
I never remember how to spell that. Usually too busy drooling when they’re on Masterchef.

Lucky last is Michelle. Hamish has “grown close to” Michelle, he says. They’re both pretty shy people but they have many things in common and she’s niiiice.
But he doesn’t think he’d be her “type”.

Hamish pulls out the chair for her at the table and Michelle compliments him on being a gentleman.
Hayley, being a stirrer, says Michelle looks beautiful. DOESN’T SHE, HAMISH? Yes, yes she does.

Chef’s final dish is a spiced cherry crumble with vanilla marscapone.

764 calories. That’s a lotttt of calories. Just let her eat it if she wants it, Hamish. Don’t do it. You’ll lose her respect. Especially when she hears how much else you ate while trying to sneak away for a night with her.
Michelle loves cherries though and she has a big weakness for sweet food.
Cue footage from her house with Tiff and a big chocolate cake and Michelle admitting she’d probably polish off half the cake. Or a bit more.

Hamish says it looks delicious, too.

But if nobody plays Hamish will keep Immunity. Dude. Let her have it if she wants it.

DINGALING.

Neither hand moves! Michelle tells us that it’s most of her calorie intake for the day so she wasn’t going to take it.

Hamish wins! Hamish now has Immunity and has to muster up the nerve to ask Michelle to go to the romantic getaway from Camp. Dun dun dun!
Do it! Do it! Do it! Chubbylove!

Hamish is just happy Ryan didn’t get Immunity.
He’s not worried about being judged by his teammates. He thinks this is showing he’s committed to being at Camp.

As the others file in Hayley asks them if they enjoyed their dinner dates and Graham says they all looked very lovely. Awwwwwwwww!

Today’s winner is Hamish! Nobody seems too surprised, Ryan looks a bit pissed.
Hayley reveals the calorie total and quite a few are shocked and disappointed. Luke’s fuming.

Hamish also gets to spend a night away with another contestant. He says if he could pick everyone in the room, he would, but everyone knows he’s going to pick Michelle. And hopefully they can have a nice quiet night together.

Michelle’s giggling girlishly and smiling. Then she says he probably could have worded that a bit better. Bwahaha!

Enjoy your night together at the Naval Cabins, guys! They’re probably not wired with spy cameras?

Oh god I can’t believe I even thought of that. Excuse me a moment. :D

After an ad break the rest of the boys team is in the shed training. Shannan notices Hamish is missing and is worried that he’s been sent home for some reason.
But no, Temptation, Hamish won, gets a night away, has Immunity, is off somewhere with Michelle.

Luke, who’s turning into a bit of a cockhead, tells Shannan that Hamish ate 1,800 calories and he’s wondering how he’ll justify that.
Alex is just disappointed that a teammate let him down.

Shannan knows that being another man down he has to make sure the boys are all doing the homework Steve and Shannan have set for them.
And guess what, they haven’t! Not one of them.
Shannan asks them if they’re any better than Hamish, when they’re not doing what they’d agreed to do. How dare they judge Hamish for what he did!

So why didn’t they? Ryan says he had a sore foot. AWWW. So he missed Friday night’s session. But he’s done as much training as he can with the pain level he’s got.
Shannan’s not buying any of it, he knows Ryan’s still being held back mentally so he’s going to try and get him to break through that today.
Shannan reminds Ryan of his poor showing at The Contest. So it looks like they’re going to force him to relive that with a replay of the bar across his shoulders.

Shannan is sure that Ryan could easily hold 100kg. His frame is built for holding weight. It’s his brain that’s letting him down.
Shannan puts 40kg on Ryan’s shoulders. And he’s fine with it today, no problems at all.
They bump it up to 60kg. Shannan tells him he’s going to prove to the boys that he wants to be there.

80kg! His mind is starting to wander and so Shannan is trying to get him to refocus.
They add some more weight so he’s at 100kg on the bar and Ryan’s starting to slip a bit and lean a little. Shannan knows Ryan needs to turn his head around because his future at Camp and his life depend on it.

Hamish and Michelle arrive at their cottage and they have a spectacular view out over the water and shoreline right from their verandah.

The inside is pretty nicely done, too.

And there’s two bedrooms with a double bed in each. Awwww.

Hamish says they’re becoming good friends in the house. He finds it hard to meet new ladies, even when they approach him, he shies away.
Michelle also says they’re good friends, they have a lot in common and so on.

They sit on a granite block outside on their lawn and stare out over the ocean and talk about how good it is to get away from it all, have some quiet time.
With camera crew and producers and stuff. Yeah.

Hamish says he picked Michelle so they could have some nice time together. Time getting to know each other.
Oh lordy…

Michelle thanks Hamish for picking her and he says it’s quite all right!
Hamish tells us he thinks Michelle’s a nice lady.

NOW KISS, DAMMIT. Don’t tell me I sat through all that and they’re not even going to pash? Nnngh.

Shannan’s got 100kg on Ryan’s bar still. He doesn’t want Ryan to give up, he’s capable of so much more than he thinks.
Ryan drops the bar though. Shannan tries to build Ryan up a bit by saying he’s done well. He’s certainly done better than his effort at The Contest!

People are sitting around the lounge and kitchen and stuff as Hayley turns up to have another chat with them. She gets them all to gather in Loser Lounge for another session of chat.
This time it’ll be about finding love and loving themselves and she imagines it’s hard losing the weight and looking in the mirror and still seeing the old version of themselves.

Hayley asks Simon what he thinks “confidence” represents. Gotta love yourself, he says. And to take it to the next stage, maybe take a friendship to romance… small smile from Lisa, though Simon’s not looking her way. He does afterwards. Giggity.

Hayley’s brought a special guest today.

SAMMY! Yayyyyyyyyyy! Some of them remember Sammy from Season 4, some probably don’t.
Sammy comes in and says she’s very nervous, just to get that out of the way.

Sammy’s got very dark hair these days, not the blonde she had on the show. And while she’s no stick figure, she’s looking DAMN fine, it must be said.

Sammy weighed 118.6kg at the start of Loser. And she has a picture from then and yikes. She’s so short so it looks like so much more on her body.
She now weighs 66.8kg. After being 72.5kg at Finale.

Yeah, so about those horror failure stories and how Loser doesn’t work like ACA and TT try to tell us? They’re full of shit. Categorically. You can go on the show, lose a bunch of weight and not have packed it all back on years later.

Sammy says it’s possible to do it, very possible.
Alex says she looks amazing, from what her previous self looked.

Sammy tells the group her trainer was Mish and she used to get hammered all the time.
Mish asked her what she liked about herself in one training session and Sammy couldn’t think of anything. Mannn, I remember that. Felt so bad for Sammy, she was such a lovely girl.
Shannan saw her one day with Mish and said to her that she’d lost 28kg to that point. If he showed her 28kg, she’d think it was heavy. And that’s come off her!

She was a size 24 when she came in the house. And, just quietly, she’s now a size 10. She has a grin on her face as she’s telling them all that.
Sammy’s obviously winning them over quite quickly as they identify readily with her past struggles. Hayley says that this is the start to changing their lives.

So let’s go around and say one good thing about themselves.
Graham’s first and has a heart of gold. He does a lot for the community and his family and so on and Hayley says everyone would agree he’s a lovely man. He wants a family and Graham’s in tears and manages to blurt out that he’s a true gentleman.
Sammy’s in tears herself. Awww. She says she wants to give him a cuddle. Awww!

Go on then, Hayley says.

Sammy’s single! Weeee! Can I have a hug too, Sammy? :D

Sammy gives him a hug and then kneels in front of him and says she sees a lot of herself in him, having so much love for everyone else. Sammy promises him he’ll find someone good for him if he keeps being a good man, but he has to change how he sees himself.
Awww, Sammy’s so lovely.

Hayley says they all just want to cuddle Graham and then they’ll all get out and it’ll turn out Graham’s been playing them all along to get as many cuddles as he can! Everyone has a good giggle at that.

Sammy says she’d been overweight most of her life so she’d never really known what it was like to feel good about herself. But once you lose the weight you will change and feel good. You’ll walk into clubs and feel like approaching people! It can happen.
Graham tells us he hopes Sammy’s at the Finale because she’ll see a new him there.

And now it’s time for the weekly Challenge. They’re all off in their cars and trudge along the beach towards the sand dune of doom from previous seasons.
Yep, it’s time for another sandy endurance challenge thing!

Michelle and Hamish are back for this.
The sand dune is 60 metres high. Each team will have to climb the hill 50 times for a total of 3,000 metres.
And they’ll do it as a relay. At the top of the hill they have to flip their counter over, go back down the hill and tag in the next runner.
Once you get to 50 you grab your team flag, bring it to the bottom and plant it. First to plant their flag will be the winner.

Kasey’s wishing they could do it for just 20 or 30 times, not 50!

The winning team will get a 2kg advantage at Weigh-In plus bragging rights.

Margie’s confident they can do this. It’s been a good week for the girls. Mish is worried they might be getting cocky and they can’t afford that because this is a very tough challenge and requires all their focus.

The boys are all confident they’ll beat the girls. So long as they don’t push Ryan to do more than one run they should be fine…

Girls are choosing their fittest to go first to see where they stand after that, then start slotting in the other girls as well.
Michelle’s going first for the girls and Luke’s first for the boys.

Michelle is struggling at the halfway mark, it’s hurting her knees and she’s puffing and panting. Mish is encouraging her from the side and calling Michelle Mish. DON’T DO THAT YOU’LL CONFUSE ME.

Luke gets to the top first, of course. But Michelle’s not a huge amount behind, though she’s almost on her hands and knees at the top.
The other girls are starting to realise this might be a lot more challenging than they’d realised.

Michelle’s a little disappointed in her first effort. She thought her cardio was up to scratch and now she’s not sure she can continue.
She apologises to Tiff at the bottom but Tiff’s hearing none of it. She points out that weeks ago Michelle couldn’t even have walked up the hill, much less run up there. Tiff tells us Michelle’s mind is letting her down a bit, she needs to start believing in herself more.

Margie says “Hell Hill” lives up to its name, and more. Her legs are burning and the hill is so very steep.
Margie can’t lift her legs to get back down the hill but her legs give out under her and she ends up tumbling helplessly down the hill getting sand all over her. She said she feels like a crumbed schnitzel. Ha!

Hamish feels like he needs to regain some of his teammates respect. Shannan’s telling him the Temptation won’t matter if he wins them a 2kg advantage. Hamish is third up the hill for the boys after Simon made his run.

Mish says running up a hill is one thing, running up a sand hill is another thing entirely. It plays with your head.

Graham’s having a go up the hill with Shannan beside him pointing out good spots to step in the footprints of the runners before him. He’s hurting all the way up but he’s making very steady progress.

The girls are holding Selena back a bit because they figure she’ll be the slowest so Michelle’s taking a second run. She’s actually doing better the second time around, catching up to Graham.

And then Michelle turns around and jogs, not walks, down the hill. Mish sees it as a chance for the girls to take the lead and turn the challenge around for them.

Mish is running partway down the hill with Michelle with Tiff at the bottom to get the girls started.
Graham’s still plodding down the hill as Margie sets off for another trip up the hill.

Luke’s having yet another go though. And Mish knows that every time Luke has to go up the hill brings his exhaustion that much closer.

Next up it’s Alex, with the ridiculous boot, but Steve and Alex both want him to compete.
Alex has been very frustrated by not being able to compete. But his team has been good to him, bringing him food in his room while he’s laid up with a bung leg.
We get a flashback to Alex’s letter from his sister, with the “If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl” quote in it. So that’s what Alex is doing. He’s crawling up the hill. Though he gets a helping hand to stand up at the top and gets Steve to remove the boot?
Then he staggers down the hill a bit and Shannan calls out he’s allowed to roll. So roll Alex does!

The girls have a few laps on the boys now due to Alex being a bit slow. But Alex manages to make it to the bottom and tags Luke back in.
Luke powers up the hill again and regains some of the lost ground but with the girls 3 laps ahead at the 20 lap mark they could be in trouble.

Bek’s having a turn up the hill. Mish says the challenge is made for her, she’s a stubborn little bugger. Bek says she ain’t seen nothing yet!

Hamish is also having another turn up the hill and Shannan says it’s his fastest time up the hill so far today. Even Luke says Hamish has done really well today, he’s put his hand up every time he’s been needed.
It’s been a hard day for Hamish and he’s gotten a bit emotional at realising how far he’s managed to push himself today. He’s never felt like he could just keep going before.
Alex is having a chat with him, telling him he’s done really well, points at the hill up behind them. He didn’t think he’d be able to do it even once and look at him now. It felt good, right? Yeahhh!
Shannan’s really proud of the way Hamish has manned up today. He wasn’t going to be seen as the weak link on the boys team today.

Mish says everyone has to do at least one lap, which explains why Alex struggled through his lap rather than the other boys just pushing harder.

On his way down the hill Hamish falls over but he gets back up without bursting into tears, in itself a big achievement for him!
Alex says he called Hamish marshmallow three weeks ago but now he calls him POWER.

Erm, yeah. Okay.

Tiff’s trying to encourage Kasey up the hill, trying to get her to put in a bit of an extra effort as they go past the White flags but Kasey says she can’t, she’s just concentrating on putting one foot after the other, over and over all the way up the hill.
Kasey doesn’t think the girls even need the 2kg advantage, they just don’t want the boys to have it.

Meanwhile the boys are worried about having to put Ryan on the hill at some point. The boys are depending on him and he needs to show he won’t let them down.
The girls are planning to put Selena against Ryan. Heaviest boy versus heaviest girl.
Selena’s worried she’ll let the girls down.
Ryan’s finally having his turn too. Shannan’s walking up beside him.

Ryan’s struggling a lot and he’s having trouble catching a breath and then he makes the mistake of looking up the hill and realising he’s not even halfway up!

Shannan points over at Selena and says that’s Ryan’s competition, get after it!

Selena’s being encouraged to do it for her little sister. Her little sister has LUPUS!

… but it’s NEVER lupus?

Selena gets to the top of the hill ahead of Ryan, quite comfortably ahead and then manages to stay on her feet down the hill. Her team is cheering for her because she’s winning the race!
Selena’s quite proud of herself. Four weeks ago she thought walking around a shopping centre was enough, never mind a sand dune.

Ryan’s looking defeated. Shannan and Steve are both telling him not to let this beat him.
But Ryan’s stuck. He falls flat on his face and struggles to get back up, much to the boys’ horror.

Monday night! Who’ll win the Challenge?
Either way, Ryan’s going to be in tears at training because he’s weak, he tells Steve.
And the girls are going to start looking for a scapegoat in case they lose. And Selena’s head is on the chopping block for not pulling her weight, again!

And tomorrow night! Unseen footage, extended scenes, how’s Brenda going on the outside? Find out 7pm tomorrow night. Because Biggest Loser is returning to Fridays, hooray!
