TBL 7×09 – MOAR SHEEP. And the first Last Chance Training for Season 7!

Previously on The Biggest Loser… SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

Selena was the first to be eliminated from the show in dramatic fashion and was just as dramatically given a second chance.
James “won” at Temptation but it came with a catch. He can take the $30,000 and go home or he can stay at Fat Camp and have Immunity from Elimination. Tough choice as James isn’t well off in the outside world and doesn’t have the backing of parents as some of the other young folks have.

But most recently the Black and Red Teams were set to face off in the final round of the Challenge. Herding sheep! Get seven into the pen before the other team and you win. If nobody has seven by the twenty minute mark the team with the most sheep wins.

Tonight! Black and Red are both off to a good start, grabbing a sheep apiece straight away.

Black manage to get their sheep into their pen ahead of the Red Team but it’s early days. And Red has Lydia the sheep whisperer/wrangler. So Red quickly grab another sheep and get it into the pen while the Black team of semi-crippled old men struggle with their second.
But then in an impressive solo effort Simon, with a bung hamstring, manages to catch and wrangle a sheep into the Black pen, bringing them back into the lead.

But then Red get two more sheep into their pen. So they’re back in the lead!

Shane says the sheep have “pulled the wool over my eyes”.

Meanwhile Lydia’s managed to nab two sheep and she hollers to Margie to come help her. Margie sort of straddles the sheep, almost riding it like a horse.
Then Lydia quickly catches another sheep and wrangles it into the pen bringing their tally to the required seven!

Red Team will go into the Weigh-In with a 2kg weight advantage. Likely to be very useful in the second week.

Then the next morning some of the contestants are sitting around having breakfast together and the door opens… and Selena wanders in! The White Team are very excited and Shane’s pleased to see her back too as it was his choice at The Walk that brought her back.

And Selena’s very happy to be given a second chance. She knows she can do it and be the best version of herself.

Last chance training kicks off with Red Team. They tell Mish first up that they won the 2kg advantage and she celebrates with a quick flaily run around the gym while cheering.

Since Brenda sat out of the challenge Mish has singled her out for some special attention today. She also wants to spend more time with her and start to dig into why she struggles in training. Mish knows she needs to keep pushing Brenda.
“Why are you crying?!” Mish says to us, “War, death, tragedy, earthquake, cry! A training session? I don’t think so!” Bully!

Mish has Brenda doing squats against a gym ball. She’s not doing it to Mish’s satisfaction and has to keep doing it over and over. Takes her about 100 attempts to get the required 10 and Mish isn’t happy about it.
Brenda snaps that at least she didn’t walk away from it… as she’s walking away!
Mish wonders aloud why she has to get Brenda to the point of crying to get the best out of her.

Brenda. Look at me. Look at meeeeeeee!
“You know what? *blank* that!” Brenda’s refusing to look Mish in the eye and Mish says Brenda’s been pretending to be fine but when Mish tries to understand why, Brenda says she’s fine.
Mish eventually cracks it and walks out of the gym in disgust while Brenda continues crying on the crosstrainer.

After an ad break we’re back to Mish storming out again. We just saw that!

Mish goes off and finds a piece of Brenda before having a talk to her. The piece is her audition reel where she’s talking about not being able to get pregnant. She was angry with herself for not doing anything to make the situation better at the time.
Mish asks her if she’s fine or if she needs help. And Brenda says she’s obviously not fine, she just says that because she’s fine to train and is just a crier.
Mish doesn’t want to have to go to battle with her every time and push her to tears to get the best out of her. Mish knows Brenda’s got the work in her, she just needs to find something other than crying to deal with it.
Think it through? Or just suck it up!

Mish knows Brenda can do amazing things when pushed, she just needs to work on being able to push herself.

Blue Team’s Last Chance Training sees James still working out with his $30,000 briefcase.
Shannan’s very worried James is going to take the money and then leave the team to fall below the Yellow Line and potentially be down two men.

James has a lot of outside influences on him and he’s trying to just listen to his own voice. Shannan suggests maybe James’ voice isn’t the voice of reason, it’s the 22 year old who hasn’t had much money and it seems like a lot of money.
James says the money would give him a chance to establish himself. Shannan asks, “As the fat bloke?”
James says it’s not about the money and Shannan retorts that if it’s not about the money he should take the briefcase off his wrist, tell them he’s going to stay and get on with it.

James tells us that it’s obvious Shannan cares about his physical wellbeing but James also has to think about his financial wellbeing.

James asks Shannan if he doesn’t think James can do it on the outside. Shannan doesn’t even hesitate in saying no.

No Last Chance with Black or White? Okay.

Weigh-In Room time. Time for James’ decision. And he’s petrified!
Also, welcome back Selena! Good to see you, etc etc.

But before anyone can weigh-in we have to find out what James has decided.
So? What’re you doing James? Staying or leaving?

Throwing to a commercial break?

After another length ad break…

James has decided to leave the competition!

What the hell, man? As Shannan points out he’s only been there 13 days and he hasn’t learned what he needs to get himself healthy on the outside. Shannan is obviously very disappointed.
Say bye to your fellow contestants, James. You’re out of here!

Ryan’s predicting James will be back at his start weight within 2 or 3 months. One certainly hopes not, but as he’s leaving James promises everyone he’ll be 80kg by finale. We’ll see!

Time for everyone else to weigh-in.

Blue, down a man, will weigh in first. And Hamish is the unlucky first from Blue. He still has four manboobs.

Hamish Previous: 143.8kg
Hamish Current: 140.5kg
Hamish Loss: 3.3kg

Hamish’s relationship with his Dad wasn’t great before the show because his Dad was an elite athlete and Hamish was never anything close.

Luke Previous: 137.3kg
Luke Current: 133.2kg
Luke Loss: 4.1kg

Ryan Previous: 228.4kg
Ryan Current: 221.5kg
Ryan Loss: 6.9kg

Blue Total: 14.3kg
Blue Percentage: 2.81%

That won’t be enough! And Shannan immediately says as much to us.

Black Team up next. Every member of their team has an injury but Steve says it hasn’t stopped them from trying their best.

Shane Previous: 154.7kg
Shane Current: 151.3kg
Shane Loss: 3.4kg

Not too bad for an injured contestant. Shane’s disappointed. He says he’s had some problems with his diet but he felt like he’d done more work than that.
It’s very important to Shane to be a good Dad to his son Ethan. Wants to make sure Ethan grows up right.

Simon Previous: 154.4kg
Simon Current: 151.2kg
Simon Loss: 3.2kg

Also not too bad, considering he’s got an injured hamstring.

Alex Previous: 150.9kg
Alex Current: 146kg
Alex Loss: 4.9kg

Quite good, considering he’s blown his achilles!

Graham Previous: 198kg
Graham Current: 193.2kg
Graham Loss: 4.8kg

Black Total: 16.3kg
Black Percentage: 2.48%

Wow, Blue aren’t out of the running just yet.

Graham wants to lose weight and start a family. He’s never had a girlfriend but his brother has a wife and has kids and he wants some of that for himself.
Mish says he’s going to be the best husband ever, he’ll be breaking hearts all over the country. Hayley says she wants to squash him up and put him in her pocket.
Graham seems to be a hit with the laaaaaaadies!

Next up, White Team. Selena will weigh in first as she isn’t competing this week and can’t be eliminated. But she still has to weigh in so they know where she’s at.

Selena Previous: 158.7kg
Selena Current: 156.5kg
Selena Loss: 2.2kg

That’s pretty good considering she’s been on the outside for a week and was only at Camp for about a week.
Tiff says Selena didn’t understand before how to work out and eat right but now she’s going to be right on top of that.

The rest of White will need to lose at least 8.7kg to beat the Black Team. Not sure why they’re not quoting the weight required to beat Blue as they’re currently on top.

Anyway, Bek’s weighing in first. Has anyone else noticed that Bek is really quite pretty with her hair down but when she has it done up in a ponytail for workouts she looks like some hideous reconstituted shrunken head thing?

Might just be me.

Bek Previous: 121kg
Bek Current: 117.7kg
Bek Loss: 3.3kg

Good job, that’s more than a third of the required loss.

Kasey Previous: 125.9kg
Kasey Current: 122.6kg
Kasey Loss: 3.3kg

Same as Bek, also good job! Michelle needs at least 2.1kg to beat Black.

Michelle Previous: 102.4kg
Michelle Current: 100.4kg
Michelle Loss: 2kg

White Total: 8.6kg
White Percentage: 2.46%

OUCH. Smallest possible margin! 100 grams in it.

Michelle says she still needs to be there a lot. She’s one of the lighter contestants but she’s never been thin in her life, ever. On the outside she feels like she’s too big but in Camp she’s “not big enough”.
Lots of White Team hugs follow.

Red Team have a 2kg weight advantage and to beat Black Team they’ll need to have lost at least 10.3kg.
That should be doable with all four members still in action. But you never know…

Lisa Previous: 98.2kg
Lisa Current: 96kg
Lisa Loss: 2.2kg

Off to a good start. Lisa’s had a rough time of it for the last seventeen years raising her two sons by herself. Mish says she’s a strong lady. Lydia says she did a perfect job raising her boys.

Brenda Previous: 113.1kg
Brenda Current: 110.4kg
Brenda Loss: 2.7kg

Lydia Previous: 131.6kg
Lydia Current: 127.2.kg
Lydia Loss: 4.4kg

Total so far: 9.3kg. Meaning Margie needs a mere 1kg. That should be very easy for a former athlete, etc. They should have this easily.

Margie Previous: 150.7kg
Margie Current: 145.6kg
Margie Loss: 5.1kg

Great effort from Margie.

Red Total: 14.4kg
Plus Weight Advantage: 16.4kg
Red Percentage: 3.32%

First place! They’re safe and they were safe even without their weight advantage so Mish is very pleased and says she’ll be sleeping well tonight!

Margie’s effort has also earned her the title of Biggest Loser for the week.

Black and White will now have to face Elimination.
Selena is safe as she’s only just returned but the other three girls are very definitely not safe.

Well, in theory they’re not safe. In practice the other teams would have to be idiots to vote one of the girls out over one of the Black boys.
But, well. Crazier things have happened. And we all know Margie’s bang up for doing something stupid.

White’s made a pact that the smallest Loser for the week would go up for Elimination which this week is Michelle. She’s worried she can’t do it on the outside and so Kasey offers to put herself up but Michelle says Kasey needs to be there too. We don’t find out the final decision but it really shouldn’t matter. Black is the obvious choice.

Shane says he’s not been taking care of his diet and as the only relatively able bodied one on his team he should’ve been able to do more so he’ll be putting himself up. He knows that no matter who goes up, they’ll probably be the one to go home.
Simon’s also volunteering to go up because he gets along with everyone and so maybe they won’t vote for him or he might get lucky and they’ll vote for the other team.
Alex also offers to go in since his injury is by far the worst and the most likely to hinder the team going forward.

Graham, meanwhile, is in tears. Surely they won’t try that failboat of a strategy of sending the nicest fattest member of their team in to face the music?

Blue and Red file into the Elimination Room and then… Shane and Michelle come in to face Elimination. A lot of faces fall at that combination.
Luke says it’s getting very real now. Lisa’s crying and says she hates this part. And she doesn’t understand why Shane’s even in there, he’s the only one who can still move in the team.

Shane says he’s had problems with nutrition all week and he felt like he could have done more for the team.

Does he feel like he’s made the ultimate sacrifice for his team? Yes, kind of, the ultimate sacrifice is his life and by leaving he might’ve given his life.

Michelle still needs to be there more than anything, she says. She’s lived 24 years without loving herself and she doesn’t want to live another 24 like that.
Hayley says she should be proud of what she’s achieved so far.

Now it’s time to write down the name of the person you think should go. First person to receive four votes will be eliminated.

TOMORROW NIGHT. Nnnnnnnnnnnngh.
We find out who’s eliminated tomorrow.

And we also get to see the trainers finally find out about the spy cams all around Camp Biggest Loser. Woohoo!
The trainers also seem to make a pact about not talking about the spy cams to the contestants. Even better!

Later in the week they’re also going to do some public speaking in front of a crowd of strangers. Already? Guess so. Face your fears, be inspirational, even though you’ve barely started your journey. You can do eet!
