TBL 6×41: Jacob’s Ladder wraps up, heart crushing Elimination and a catchup with Damien

Friday night on The Biggest Loser we left Joe and Leigh battling it out in the Jacob’s Ladder challenge.

Tonight we find out which of them lasts longer.

Also, Greg’s week at Camp comes to a close. Has he learned enough to survive on the outside?
Probably not!

Later in the episode it’ll be Weigh-In and Elimination time again. Joe has Immunity and if Leigh wins the Challenge he ought to be safe with the 1kg advantage…

Joe and Leigh are still going at the 2 hour 20 minutes mark. Shannan says that holding a position like that for more than 2 hours is insane by itself.
Leigh and Joe are still going at the 2 hour 45 minute mark, too. They’re up over 7,000 feet of climbing their tilted ladders now. Makes me sore just thinking about it!
Shannan says they’ve climbed the equivalent of Mount Kosciusko, Australia’s tallest mountain. Awesome!

They get to 3 hours and 17 minutes. Joe’s getting blisters on his hands but… Leigh’s piking out. He feels like he’s going to pass out. He holds his hand out to Joe to shake his hand and then jumps off.

Final time was 3 hours, 24 minutes and 44 seconds. And they’ve broken the world record for the longest climb ever on the Jacob’s Ladder by one minute!
No mention of a Biggest Loser record so I guess someone out there will be eyeing that record off in the real world.

So as Joe won The Challenge he’s got a 1kg advantage he can either keep for himself or give to another contestant, though he doesn’t need to decide yet.

Back at Camp Michelle’s pleased to see Greg’s already training when she arrives, and has been for a while. Mish reminds us that Greg’s been bitching and moaning through every training session. But Greg’s apologising to her at the start and she says it’s fine, she’s used to tantrums.
But she’s going to push him in training today. He hasn’t been doing a lot of running on the outside so she’s getting him to do some running on the treadmill. 9-10km/hr, which he’s never done before and he’s pushing through.
Michelle asks him to do another bit of running and Greg’s not sure he can do another one but he tells us he wasn’t giving up today, he was going to push through the pain.

And he gets it done and Greg says he felt great afterwards.
Greg knows it’s hard but he’s just pleased by the results.

Time to weigh in!
151.1kg when he came back.
Now? 142.6kg.

Greg’s stunned and he sits down and sobs into a towel. Michelle’s very pleased by his results for the week. She says she wants to see him at Finale at his goal weight.
That might be a stretch, he’s still got 40kg to go. But maybe!

Michelle wanders into the dining room to see the contestants with Greg before he leaves. Everyone’s really pleased by his 8+ kg loss.
But they’ve all got a surprise for him before he leaves.

Words. On pieces of paper. Confidence, courage, goal weight, truth, etc. Greg’s very touched by their sentiments. He’s sure this will inspire him to continue to Finale and beyond.

Seeya at Finale, Greg!
Michelle’s confident he can stay on track now. So long as he uses what he’s learned, he should be fine.

But now it’s time for weigh-in. Already!

Joe’s glad he has Immunity for the weigh-in. Big surprise!
Now it’s time for him to decide who to give the 1kg advantage to, or whether he’ll keep it himself.

And since he’s sure he’ll be above the Yellow Line because he’s worked so hard he’s decided to give the 1kg advantage to Kellie. Which surprises her quite a bit!

Joe Previous: 99.2kg
Joe Current: 94kg
Joe Loss: 5.2kg
Joe Percentage: 5.24%

That’s a great result, especially considering he could have slacked off a bit due to having Immunity.
Joe likes what he sees in the mirror now and he likes who he is. Michelle’s crying. AWWWWWWWWWWW!
Mish says she’s really proud of him. Softy!

“I don’t think I’ve ever been touched quite like that on the show.” – Michelle. Giggity.

Leigh Previous: 87kg
Leigh Current: 82.6kg
Leigh Loss: 4.4kg
Leigh Percentage: 5.06%

Just a hair below Joe’s loss. Blue people are obviously pleased and Tiffiny has a grin for him too. Awww!

Sarah Previous: 114.9kg
Sarah Current: 111.4kg
Sarah Loss: 3.5kg
Sarah Percentage: 3.05%

Prior to getting up on the scales she wasn’t worried, saying she worked really hard and did well with her diet.
Didn’t look unworried on the scales though!
She’s in tears afterwards, saying she expected more from herself this week but Mish tells her it’s one of the best percentages for her and Steve says she’s done well. Other people still to weigh in at this point, don’t fret yet!

Sharlene Previous: 78.7kg
Sharlene Current: 76.8kg
Sharlene Loss: 1.9kg
Sharlene Percentage: 2.41%

Sharlene’s not happy with that loss. She was expecting more than 3kg.

Meg Previous: 92.3kg
Meg Current: 90.7kg
Meg Loss: 1.6kg
Meg Percentage: 1.73%

Meg’s in fifth place now. Tiff’s shocked and confused. Meg’s disappointed. She’s worked really hard and thought she’d given it everything but perhaps not?
She has a lot more to lose and a lot more to learn, Meg says.
Leigh says he was sad to see her lose so little an amount but she’s taken so many Temptations it was going to catch up to her eventually.

Kellie Previous: 93kg
Kellie Current: 91.5kg
Kellie Loss: 1.5kg – 2.5kg after advantage.
Kellie Percentage: 2.69%

4th place and safe from elimination, thanks solely to Joe’s 1kg advantage.
Kellie’s still disappointed by the 1.5kg loss.

Meg will now be facing elimination. And she’s pissed about it, saying Kellie’s obviously not put in the effort to get above the line herself and now Meg’s going to pay for it.

Lara will need 1.8kg to stay above the Yellow Line. But that would push Sharlene below the line with Meg…

Lara Previous: 70.4kg
Lara Current: 69.7kg
Lara Loss: 0.7kg
Lara Percentage: 0.99%

That means her and Meg will be facing Elimination.
Lara says she thought the day she saw 69 would be the best day ever. But now she’s going to face elimination with her best friend. Awww.
Sharlene wants to trade places with Lara but Lara knows she has to face the music herself.
Leigh’s in tears because Lara’s had a bad week, been binge eating, she can’t go home yet. Lara’s struggling after seeing Leigh cry, that’s hard for her.

Lara tells them that nobody’s died, shit happens!
She confesses the binge to everyone else as not everyone knew previously. She made a mistake and she was horrified by it.

Now the question is whether they’ll send the bigger threat – Meg – home or if they’ll send Lara home as she can do it on the outside now? Hmmmm.

Lara’s not feeling good about facing elimination again. But maybe she won’t have to go home and then it’ll be fiiiine.

“My name is Damien Challenor and I weigh 234.4kg…”
2 months on… he’s still huge. But he’s running around after his kids on the beach. Slowly, but he’s doing it!
And running at 9km/hr on the treadmill with his personal trainer.
He used to wear an 11 XL in shirt size and now he’s down to just a 3 XL, which is an enormous difference!
And who knew they actually made shirts that big anyway? Crikey.

But now it’s time for another Elimination vote.
Meg or Lara? Who do you send home, people?

Lara hates sitting up the wrong end of the table. She hates seeing Sharlene and Leigh so upset.
Lara says she’s not ready to go home. Nobody sitting up that end ever is. And she had a binge this week.
She tells the other contestants that she knows it’s a hard decision but they’ve got to vote with whatever they can live with. Whether that’s heart or head.

Meg’s not feeling safe at all. She felt like she was doing well for her family as the final member. She has plenty of friends up the other end of the table but she also has a great friend sitting beside her and she knows it’ll be a hard decision to pick between them.

Time to vote!

Sharlene’s first to cast her vote. It’s not an easy decision. Her heart goes with her family, with Lara, but Meg’s also become like an adopted daughter to her. And she knows Meg will stay strong on the outside and will be fine. She loves Meg, but she’s had to vote for her.

Next to vote will be Joe. Gee, wonder who he’ll vote for?
Joe says they’ve become a lot better friends recently, which was especially surprising with Meg as he never really thought they would be friends at all.
But in the end he’s had to vote for Lara.
God knows why, she’s no threat to him but whatever…

Leigh’s next. Leigh will obviously not vote for his partner, it just sucks that he’s got to vote for Meg instead.

Kellie’s voting with her heart and choosing someone she thinks can do it on the outside – Lara.

Lara and Meg are both on two votes leaving poor old Sarah with the deciding vote again. That’s just nasty, guys!

Sarah says she loves them both, but she’s told them both she’d be voting for strategic reasons tonight and both girls nod.
So she’s voted for an ad break, naturally!

After the ad break Sarah is still voting.
Sarah says she’s voting for someone who consistently goes above and beyond everyone’s expectations and so she’s had to vote out… Lara. Awwwww. :-(

Lara says it hurts more to see Sharlene and Leigh so upset.
Lara thanks them both for coming on the crazy ride with her. It’s been the best thing she’s ever done. Lara says it’s saved their family and it’s saved her and Leigh’s relationship.
Sharlene’s not sure she has the strength without Lara there but she’s going to find it, she’ll fight so hard because she owes Lara so much.

Hayley says that Leigh looks devastated. Leigh can’t speak he’s crying so much. Awww.
Lara tells him that absence makes the heart grow fonder. And there’s not long to go now. He’ll be okay!

Meg says Lara’s been a real inspiration to her, she’s so kind and warm hearted and a great athlete.

Lara’s so glad she came on the show because it’s saved and changed her life.

Hayley says it’s been decided she will not be the Biggest Loser. Time for you to leave and say your goodbyes. Hayley says she’ll miss Lara and Lara says she’ll miss Hails too. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
Lara was the “happy fat girl” when she came to Camp but she really wasn’t happy at all. She was using her weight as a security blanket.
She never thought she could do some of the things she’s done while there – pulling trains and running up sand dunes.

Lara and Leigh have a kiss and a hug and Lara tells Leigh to look after his Mum. Awwww!

Lara thanks them all for the fun and wishes them good luck on her way out the door.

Wednesday night the Losers will be treated to some recap footage from the week the trainers spent with them in their own homes.
Then the contestants will be going sailing. From Sydney to Hobart!
