TBL 6×35: More Immunity up for grabs, who wants some?

Previously on The Biggest Loser Joe tried to get everyone to like him and it might almost have worked on Lara and Meg.

A surprise weigh-in was announced with one contestant to earn Immunity if they’ve lost the most weight so far.
Meg was the only one to weigh in last night and she’d gained weight. However she has Immunity and thus can’t win Immunity anyway.

Tonight the weighing continues!
Also, Sarah loses her shit in training. Again. There’ll be shouting and there’ll be gurning and none of us will really care.

As the episode starts all over again…

Meg Previous: 95.7kg
Meg Current: 99.7kg
Meg GAIN: 4kg
Meg Percentage GAIN: 4.18%

Her weight’s nearly back up to 100kg and so she regrets going for Temptation now. She doesn’t want to go back above that weight and she feels like she’s reverting back to old ways.

Hayley then reminds her that if she weighs more than 95.7kg at the next weigh-in she’ll be stripped of her Immunity. Ouch!
Lara and Sharlene comfort her afterwards.

But for now, Meg is safe and it’s time to stick the boot into someone else!

Rebecca Previous: 88.3kg
Rebecca Current: 86.3kg
Rebecca Loss: 2kg
Rebecca Percentage: 2.27%

Hard to know if that’ll be any good as they don’t usually weigh in this soon.
Rebecca says she remembered what Shannan told Kellie last time she had a bad week, it’s not about the bad week it’s how you come back from it that counts.
She’s now aiming to be under the 85kg mark by the proper weigh-in.

Lara Previous: 73.4kg
Lara Current: 73kg
Lara Loss: 0.4kg
Lara Percentage: .54%

Lara’s a little disappointed at not losing enough to earn Immunity. Still two more chances to win!

Sarah Previous: 118kg
Sarah Current: 117.1kg
Sarah Loss: .9kg
Sarah Percentage: .76%

Nearly a kilo, she says, and she’s happy with that.
Who’s her biggest competition, Hayley asks? Sarah pretends to think about it and then says she’s her own biggest competition, she’s just got to do it.

Leigh Previous: 89.3kg
Leigh Current: 89kg
Leigh Loss: .3kg
Leigh Percentage: .34%

Leigh’s fine with that. Not happy, just fine. He tells us he’s just going to have to train really hard and watch his nutrition more closely.

Sharlene Previous: 82.2kg
Sharlene Current: 82.1kg
Sharlene Loss: .1kg
Sharlene Percentage: .12%

Whoa. Just as well there’s not an elimination on this!
Sharlene’s a bit upset, she’d been hoping for 1kg or so. Sharlene guesses she’s not been working hard enough.

Kellie’s hoping for a decent loss. Guess she forgot that bit where she ate 3,000 calories?

Kellie Previous: 97kg
Kellie Current: 96.2kg
Kellie Loss: .8kg
Kellie Percentage: 0.82%

Joe’s last. He’ll need at least 2.4kg to beat Rebecca to Immunity. Which he should be able to do, but for the pig out at Temptation…

Joe Previous: 101.9kg
Joe Current: 99.3kg
Joe Loss: 2.6kg
Joe Percentage: 2.55%

Oh son of a bitch, he’s got Immunity now.
Sharlene and Lara look displeased. Rebecca tells us she wasn’t happy either, but “good for him, you know, whateverrrrrrrr.”
Joe can barely believe it. Joe says it’s really hard being the last of his family in there. He wishes the rest of his family were there with him.

We wish the rest of your family were there instead of you, Joe.

Joe says he loves his kids so much and is doing it for them and his wife. Awwww!

Still two opportunities for Immunity and those chances could come at any time. But there’s still a few days before the regular weigh-in.

Tiff’s very upset by Meg’s gain of 4kg and she’d heard on the grapevine that Meg hadn’t been working out as much as she needed. But the only way she can be sure is via Meg’s level of fitness.
So training today will be moving, moving moving moving, all the way. Tiff wants Meg to hit the 5km mark on the treadmill in 35-40mins. She’s also got Meg punching a mitt and working against resistance and so on. And chatting to her throughout, pushing her harder. Keep running!
At one point Tiff is perched atop the treadmill and screaming at Meg. She says there’s lots of other women out there thinking they’re fat, etc.

Meg completes 5km in the 40 minutes and that’s good enough for Tiff. She believes Meg’s been working out like she should.
Tiff promises her that if she does everything she’s been told, Meg will keep her Immunity. Meg promises she will, both for Tiffiny and for herself.

Steve says today’s training session for The Moons is about No Excuses. Yes, Joe got Immunity and it’ll be harder to stay above the Line, but no excuses!

Sarah is of course screaming and shouting and grunting and groaning and begging for a break and contorting her face.
JUST RUN! Steve knows you can do it.

Sarah says Steve has pushed her to the limit. Steve tells us he knows Sarah’s got loads more in her. The way she carries on all the time, I’m inclined to agree. You got energy to pull faces and scream, you got energy to keep working out!

Steve sends Kellie and Rebecca off to run laps. Sarah’s staying with him for some more training.
Trust in yourself, Steve tells her. Sarah keeps saying her legs are hurting. Sarah tells us that it was a mind game, soon as she tells herself her legs hurt she’s done for.

Sarah gets to 20 seconds of the running each time and then gives up. Steve makes her start over again each time. And every time she falls apart, Steve’s not letting her give up.
Meanwhile Sarah is shouting and crying and flailing about instead of running.
Steve says she has a lot more baggage than some of the other contestants but she needs to learn to deal with it and get on with it.

Sarah tells Steve she’s scared of who she’ll be when she’s finished. A better person. Why doesn’t she feel like she deserves to be happy, Steve asks?
And Sarah says she’s never felt like she deserved it.

Doesn’t she have a girlfriend? Your girlfriend doesn’t make you happy?
Lesbians are weird, yo.

Time for The Contest.
There’s six cross trainers and so some of them are pleased as they’re quite familiar with those machines by now.

As it’s Immunity Week, there’ll be another Immunity up for grabs tonight. Whoever wins The Contest will get Immunity.
Not four champions fighting it out, tonight. Six of them.
Meg and Joe already have Immunity so they needn’t compete.

Endurance is the theme tonight. And it’ll be over three rounds, as usual.
Sharlene’s worried as she’s not participated in The Contest before and with it being Endurance, she might be doomed.

They’ll be on cross trainers and treadmills and then on a “sky wall”. One of those motorised rock climbing wall doohickies that look like awesome fun!

Two champions will be knocked out in each round. The first round will be on the cross trainers and the first four to get to 2km will move on.
And all the cross trainers have to be set to 16. Which causes a few “Ooohs”. Lara’s never even had it up that high, apparently. So I take it that’s quite a high setting for a cross trainer?

Ready, steady, spaghetti!

Joe’s calling out encouragement… to Rebecca.

Oh, okay, and some for Kellie too.
Meg’s calling out encouragement to Sharlene.

It’s very hard to move the crosstrainer on 16, Leigh says, have to use both your arms and legs.
Kellie’s struggling, even though she works out on it a lot she says.
Joe calls out to Kellie to start using her arms as well and that helped her a lot.

Lara’s in the lead on 640m at one stage, with various other people ranging from 580 to 610. Even Sharlene is keeping up, on 610 and keeping up with the youngsters!
Joe calls out to her that she’s amazing. Suckup!

Sharlene’s singing “Climb Every Mountain” from the Sound of Music… in her head, anyway!

Lara’s still in the lead on 1.15km at the next distance check. Leigh’s on 1.1km and Sharlene’s on 1.05km. So all the Blue Team is ahead of the Black Team. Woo!

Lots of talk from everyone about how, if they don’t have Immunity, they’ll so totally be the one sent home.

Lara and Leigh are still in the lead in the late stages although, quite surprisingly, Sarah’s moved up into third ahead of Sharlene!

Lara finishes first with Leigh not far behind. Lara flops onto the floor and has a drink.

Sarah, Sharlene and Kellie are all on 1.92km. Only two of them can go through.

Sarah and Kellie manage to just pip Sharlene in the end. But Rebecca and Sharlene aren’t giving up, they’re going to finish up their 2km. Or Sharlene does. Not sure if Rebecca did.

“My name’s Jarrod and I weigh 143.3kg.”
2 months on…
Jarrod’s looking pretty good. Sees his personal trainer twice a week. Still loves a steak but it’s a much smaller one these days. And instead of a glass of beer he has a glass of water.
Looking at his audition video it’s obvious how far he’s come.

And, most importantly, he’s joined his local cricket team since being eliminated. Excellent work!
He’s looking forward to the future now and knows he can do whatever he wants.

Hayley gives a special mention to Sharlene after the first round, for keeping up with the girls half her age.

Second round is another hill climb, this time on the treadmill.
Sarah had been saying bring it on, before. Now she’s whining at us about how Steve had pushed her on the treadmill that morning.

The treadmills are to be set on an incline of 15 and the first two to hit 2km will go through to the final round.

So Lara and Leigh would have to be favourites here?

Lara’s legs (very shapely ones, these days!) are burning and Leigh’s doing it tough.
Sarah’s doing it pretty easy, probably because she’s cheating by holding herself up with the side rails…

Kellie’s doing quite well, running along quite well to start with… but when the incline gets to the full 15 she feels like her back is going to break.
Leigh tries to encourage her to keep going, as does Sharlene from the sidelines.

Leigh’s on 920m, Lara’s on 860m, Kellie’s on 800m and Sarah’s on 605m, despite frequent cheating.

Leigh’s struggling quite a bit, burying his face in the control panel but continuing to push through the pain. Lara’s slowly catching up to Leigh, but then Kellie gets her second wind and starts running faster to try and catch up…

After yet another ad break they’re all still running and sweating and running and sweating.
Well, three of them are, Sarah’s been reduced to a quick walk.

And, of course, Leigh and Lara end up finishing in first and second.
Kellie finishes out her 2km and says she never wants to do it again but she was pleased that she managed to do it.
Leigh was never happier to get off a treadmill.

Sarah’s… not giving up either? Wow. She’s still propping herself up and getting it done through the power of GURN.
Leigh’s standing beside the treadmill encouraging her to keep going and the peanut gallery starts up a “Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!” chant at one point.

Leigh and Lara, it’s time to battle it out for Immunity. Game on!
Both of them are stuffed from the cross trainer and treadmill so neither is looking forward to it. Lara says she’s never even been rock climbing before so she’s not sure how she’ll go.

The challenge is to simply stay on the wall as long as they can. Climb climb climb!

Tomorrow night, who will win? Boys or girls?

Then Meg continues to struggle to lose the remaining 4kg before the weigh-in.

And then the weekly challenge involves a beach and digging a hole under a bar and carrying a bucket or something.

And Leigh’s competing, with the prize being Immunity.

… so Lara’s going to win on the Sky Wall, then?
