TBL 6×34: LOCKDOWN!

Previously on The Biggest Loser Lara won at the weekly Challenge and got to see her Mum. Aww!

Then at Elimination Damien was sent home, again, thanks to Joe being an idiot, again!

Tonight Joe’s got to face up to sending Damien home. I’m sure he’ll put on a suitably sad tone of voice which will be quite different to… his usual dull monotone.

Also “Immunity Week” starts with a 24 hour lockdown of some kind.
Tonight is also the first catch up with an eliminated contestant, Sarah-Jayne.

But as we pick up the post-Elimination loungeroom chat, Kellie asks Joe how he’s dealing with Damien being sent home and Joe says he’s very sorry about it.
Sharlene tells us she’s really not sure whether to believe him because Joe obviously doesn’t care about his family.

Sarah says she was sorry to send home Damien but she thinks Damien’s in a good head space right now and he’ll be doing just fine on the outside, he won’t let his kids down.

Joe then tells everyone that he doesn’t care about the game and he doesn’t care if he gets sent home tomorrow or next week, he’s just glad they had the time in the house to rebuild some of the family relationships that their family had struggled with over the years.

Next morning everyone is asked to go to the top level of the house. Hayley’s there!
Hayley announces that this week is Immunity Week, which means four Immunities are on offer. Four people will be able to guarantee themselves another week in the house without having to worry about the scales.

And the opportunities start now, with Temptation.

Meg says she’d do just about anything to secure Immunity!

They’re now all in lockdown. They’ll have to spend the next 24 hours in the room they’re in.
Kellie says it’s bad enough being stuck in the house with eight people, stuck in the same room she’ll go nuts!

Hayley tells them the good news – they won’t need to worry about preparing their own food or drink. Every hour, on the hour, food and drink will be delivered to them. If they choose to have some they have to have every last crumb and every last drop.
Once the 24 hours are up the contestant who has consumed the most calories will win Immunity.

In the room is just one cross trainer and one medicine ball to work out with.

Joe knows he’s got a big target on his back now and so he really needs to win Immunity.

There’s also only one comfy bed in the room. Sarah says she’s not too bothered by that as The Commando has had her and the other Moons sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags anyway. Another night on the floor is no problem for them!

The first food offering comes out very early and it’s sausage rolls.
At least two of the Black Team take a sausage roll and Meg’s also partaking. Sharlene is horrified. She’s trying to get Meg not to do it, without much success.
She also gets a drink from the fridge to wash it down. They’re all unlabelled but I guess they might have the calories written on them at least?

Meg eats more than one and I think Kellie might have as well. She’s at least one sausage roll behind, she says, when the next food item comes out.

DONUTS! OM NOM NOM NOM NOM!
The big iced kind, chocolate.

Kellie washes hers down with a lemon soft drink. She used to finish them like nothing, it’d go empty and she’d just open up another. But she’s struggling to get through one can today.

Meg’s been powering away on the cross trainer in between. Some of them are lying around the room.
Joe and Rebecca are lying on their bellies on the comfy bed while waiting for the next food item to come out.

Ummm. Eww.

Anyway, next food item that comes out is a fruity muffin with a hot cup of coffee. Blueberry muffin, Meg says.
Lara’s tempted. She has to eat something to last the 24 hours, she says. Leigh’s trying to tell her to put it back. Sharlene tells her to put it back, too.

But nope, she’s having it! She says it’s good coffee, too. Surely an oxymoron, that.

Joe’s also having a muffin and a coffee. He thinks that’s all he’ll have. I bet it isn’t.

Yep, next food item is a sausage sandwich and Joe’s having another.

As is Kellie.

And thus so is Meg.
Crazy.

Joe’s eating really quickly to try and get the girls to eat more too. He says he’s started now, better keep going. He thinks he’s in with a chance because Meg and Kellie are already not looking too well.
Kellie says she has the cold sweats going already and she’s looking at Joe plowing through his sandwiches. She’s not sure she can keep up with him. Kellie says she can’t believe she used to eat like that all the time but going from healthy eating for six weeks to eating all that crap again has left her feeling lethargic and sick.

Sixth hour, sticky date pudding. 275 calories. Leigh LOVES sticky date pudding but he had a look at it and decided he’s not tempted, at all. Good lad!

Kellie and Meg grab sticky date puddings as well, after Joe picks one up. Sharlene’s dismayed by Kellie grabbing another.
And so Joe has more than one. And thus so does Meg and Kellie. Sarah says Kellie knows what the Commando would say – you can’t start something and then just stop.

Meg’s eaten 3,500 calories and is getting worried, thinking she’ll have to put a limit on how many calories she’s prepared to consume.

Hour 7 is a mystery dish.

Meg’s mood is being affected by all the food.

Hour 7 isn’t a food item at all. Joe opens the lid and it’s a letter!

Lara reads it out for them. Time to make a decision – they’ve been in there for 7 hours and there’s 17 hours remaining, unless they choose to leave. They all have the chance to leave, right now, but if they walk out they’re no longer eligible to win Immunity from today’s Temptation.
So it’s a safe bet that Meg, Joe and Kellie will be staying. They’d have to be idiots to eat all that and give up this soon, right?

After an ad break, Lara says that if they all decide to leave then Immunity will remain with the person who had it last – Sarah.

Meg really wants to walk out but she’s eaten so many calories she can’t give up now.

Many of them decide to leave but Joe and Meg are sticking in there. Lara decides to stay as well, just to support Meg.

Joe asks Meg how many calories they’ve consumed and Meg says she doesn’t even want to think about it.
Joe says he feels a bit guilty for eating so many calories and Lara says that shows progress on his part – previously he wouldn’t’ve felt guilty. It shows he’s learned!

Meg makes a deal with Joe – them two in the gym to work it all off for the rest of the week. Joe agrees since he needs someone to rely on as well.
Meg’s two plates up on Joe, he says. Meg also says that so long as they don’t consume any more calories they should be fine, they should be able to make it above the Line.
Joe says he really doesn’t want to eat any more calories. But will he sneakily make a last push?

Meg thanks Lara for sticking in there with her and Lara says she wasn’t in a good spot two hours ago and she was worried.
Joe has a laugh about it. Meg says they have a chance to get to know each other and Joe asks her if she thought she’d ever say that and she admits she wouldn’t’ve. But now they can sit and be civilised and have a nice chat and maybe start off on a new foot.

Joe asks if Jarrod will ever get over his hissy fit and Meg asks which one? The one where Red walked out, apparently. Meg thinks it’s just because Jarrod’s very competitive as well.
Meg says Joe’s become a much better bloke in his time at Camp, like he’ll now congratulate people when they do well instead of just being happy when he’s done well.
Joe tells us he’s quite pleased that they had the chance to sit down and talk because it turns out they actually can talk to each other. Awww!

Last plates come out and it’s pancakes and nobody has any!

As the clock ticks down Lara says it’s been swell spending the night with them and chatting. Group hug!
“We surviiiived!”
Then Hayley wanders in and congratulates them on lasting the whole 24 hours.

So who’s won?

Lara ate 440 calories. Not nearly enough.
So it’s down to Joe and Meg!

Joe has consumed 3,970 calories. He has a smile on his face.
Meg grimaces because she knows she’s done more than Joe and that’s a hell of a lot of calories as it is.

Meg has consumed 4,917 calories. Nearly five days worth of food, Meg tells us.
Lara’s shocked at how much it is.
Meg says Tiff usually leaves it up to her if she’s going to take part in Temptation but she thinks this time Tiffiny might be upset.

The trainers rock up to Camp for the first time since Elimination.
Michelle is crushed by Damien’s absence.
She starts lecturing the other contestants which isn’t really fair since they have to look out for themselves, too.
Mish bemoans Joe’s decision to give Rebecca the 1kg as it’s obviously what lead to Damien’s downfall.

Then they start explaining the Immunity Week thing.
First Immunity was up for grabs at Temptation. 24 hour lockdown started it, which means they all technically took part.

They explain the most calories in 24 hours thing and say Meg, Kellie and Joe took part. Though technically Lara did as well.
Who won? Meg!

How many calories did you eat, Joe? Michelle is stunned by how many calories Joe ate and then asks Meg how many she had to beat him?!
Tiff is very disappointed. She says Meg was on the Honour Board last week and now she’s undone all that hard work. She can do it without the gambling, Tiff thinks.

Time for training!

Michelle’s not sure what to do with Joe. She’s not sure where his head is at, right now he’s a loose cannon, she says.
Joe was emotionally all over the place and didn’t really think things through at Temptation.
Mish says that looking from the outside-in, Joe’s been trying to win favour with people, trying to make them like you.

What? When?

Michelle thinks the decision to pull the pin on Temptation and the 1kg advantage thing where his attempts to get people to like him. And he needs to cut it out. They’re not going to like him and he should just suck it up and get down to business! Lose more weight!

Michelle wants Joe to train hard for his family.
The family he doesn’t care about? Not sure that’s a valid prodding stick, Mish!

Joe tells us it’s hard to be the only Red Team Member left, particularly as it was partly his fault. But the consequences are his to bear.

Mish says she’s prepared to move on from the past and he needs to meet her half way.

Sarah and Kellie are sitting eating a yoghurt in the lounge room. Which is convenient for Rebecca to walk in with her civvies on.
She announces that Ruby is sick, she’s in hospital and so Rebecca’s going to go see her in a little bit. Give her a kiss and a hug from Mum and the aunties. Awww!

Rebecca’s off to visit at the hospital and she hadn’t even thought about how her husband might react to seeing the changes in her today.
“Smokin’!” She’s really pleased to hear that from someone else because she doesn’t really see it herself.

Apparently her little girl has a sore on her foot? So she can’t walk around on it. Can’t see anything on her when Rebecca goes in to see her though.
She’s getting some antibiotics pumped into her arm and she should be fine, the husband says.
Rebecca says it’s the best feeling ever, getting to hug her girl. She needed to be there because her daughter was unwell but also to see that they’re all doing okay without her.

“I’m Sarah-Jayne and I weigh 123.3kg.”
2 months on…
She looks skinnier in the body but still has a big fat bogan head on her shoulders. And she’s doing zumba classes… alongside a scarily thin lady.
No more creamy pastas, healthy chicken salads!

She used to be an “unhealthy size 26” and now she’s a “happy and healthy size 16”. She’s feeling and looking better than ever and has a brand new lease on life.

Shannan’s very pleased that nobody in his team took part in Temptation. They’re on the front foot not and he’s determined to keep them there.
Shannan reminds us of Lara’s breakdown last week and then they had the session with the beach netball ladies and Lara’s determination has never been higher.

Shannan is egging them on, telling them it’s up to them to stay in front.

Lara says before the show her and Leigh would compete to see who could eat the most bad food and now they’re sitting on spinbikes racing each other.

Shannan asks them who’s behind them and Sharlene says Joe’s behind them. Shannan says he’s ruthless and he wants what they have, etc. Age is no barrier, Sharlene!
No weak links in the Blue Team, Shannan says. 3 more Immunities to win this week but just stick to the Blue philosophy and believe in themselves.

Lara knows this week will be tough with everyone wanting Immunity.

Meanwhile… Tiffiny reminds Meg that she’s meant to be training to be a warrior, but she’d forgotten about that and gone back to being old Meg.
Tiff tells us they can train all day but the key to being a warrior is in the mind, without that you won’t get there.
Tiffiny says Meg’s been the fat kid all her life and then started to be a warrior but then in one instant she’s back to old habits – and it’s not the first time she’s given in to Temptation!

Tiff reminds Meg that she’s all Tiff has left. White disappears if Meg gets eliminated.
Tiff says Meg needs to start thinking thin, she still has a “fattitude”!

“Losers make decisions, Winners make commitments.” – Tiffiny.

Food is never the answer. Who is this? Who are you? “I’M MEG! MEG!”

“Are you going to take Temptation again?” Tiffiny asks. Meg says no, but doesn’t sound very convincing so Tiff asks again and gets a more confident reply.
Tiff says she lies awake at night stressing about Meg and getting her through to the end and getting her more healthy. And now Meg needs to give her the respect of doing everything she can.
Tiffiny was very proud of Meg being on the Honour Board this week. She’s her trainer and her friend, now Meg has to work hard this week again.
And after Tiffiny leaves Meg is right back onto the treadmill to trudge along some more. Good girl!

After a four minute ad break (!!!) the contestants are all wandering into the weigh-in room. But it’s singles now, can’t be a family weigh-in, various people speculate.

Hayley reminds them that it’s Immunity Week!

Meg claimed the first Immunity at Temptation.
And now somebody will claim the second.

Whoever has lost the most weight, by percentage, since the previous weigh in will win immunity.
Joe and Kellie are probably stuffed, then?

Meg already has Immunity but will weigh-in again now anyway, just to see how she’s going.

Meg Previous: 95.7kg
Meg Current: 99.7kg
Meg GAIN: 4kg

And that’s where we leave it, of course!
Mr Voiceover Man talks about it costing Meg Immunity, which it shouldn’t since this isn’t a weekly weigh-in and it would be a dick move by the producers to have them gorge themselves for Immunity and then punish them…

Oh, right, this is The Biggest Loser producers we’re talking about!

Anyway, weigh-ins continue tomorrow night.
Sarah also continues to struggle in training, big surprise.
And The Contest will be the “toughest one yet”, apparently. Looks to involve treadmills and crosstrainers and copious quantities of perspiration!
