TBL 6×31: C is for Cookie and that’s good enough for… Sarah!
Previously on The Biggest Loser everyone had a grump at Joe!
The trainers have set up a Pyramid of Fitness challenge for the contestants, most of which we saw last night, bar the final showdown between Leigh and Joe.
Tonight, the final showdown between Leigh and Joe! Treadmills, ever increasing speeds, putting their stamina to the test. For glory!
Later in the episode is Temptation. Various baked goods including COOKIES!
Then there’s some situps-based Contest? Which I assume we’ll see the start but not the end, leaving us waiting until tomorrow to find out who wins…
As the episode returns to the real action Leigh and Joe are eyeing each other off just before the treadmills get started.
8km/hr to start, if you’ve forgotten. Every minute the speed will increase by 2km/hr. Last man still on the treadmill will be crowned the Ultimate Athlete of Biggest Loser 2011.
Joe says his legs are starting to hurt at 10km/hr as they’ve been slogging it out all night. It’s quite impressive that either of them can still run at all!
12km/hr is called for and Joe can only manage about 10 seconds at that pace and gives up. Loser, loserrrrrr!
Leigh’s very happy to have won.
Michelle congratulates them all on how well they all did. It shows how far they’ve all come since the start of the show.
Leigh’s crowned the Ultimate Athlete and gives a big coin thingy. Weird.
Shannan says it wasn’t Leigh’s body that got him over the line it was his mind. His mind and body are working together, finally.
Temptation time! First thing Damien sees is a big pile of chocolate chip cookies and he says they look and smell great.
Today’s Temptation is a game of memory. There’s 50 boxes on the wall behind Hayley. Inside two of the boxes is what they’re playing for – two immunity tickets. Their goal is to match up the two Immunity tickets to win Immunity for the week.
But of course it’s not that simple!
Inside the other 48 boxes are various other foods ranging from 50 to 750 calories. Yikes! If you match two foods you don’t have to eat them – you get to choose one of your competitors to eat the food.
Meep!
But if you don’t get a match at all you’ve got to eat one of the chocolate chip cookies, worth 100 calories each.
Meg’s hoping nobody steps forward since then she gets to keep immunity.
Hayley gives them three seconds to step forward to play.
One.
Two.
Three.
Sarah steps forward, saying “For Immunity.” Yeah. Immunity. Right.
Sarah’s 9th on the leaderboard, she says, and her weightloss hasn’t been enough to keep her above the Line. I’m sure that has nothing to do with the way she keeps pigging out at Temptation…
As Sarah’s the only one taking part in Temptation, if she matches two food items the boxes will stay open but nobody has to eat. If she doesn’t match any, the boxes are closed again and she has to eat a cookie.
Time for Sarah to open two boxes.
First one is a glass of cola and the second is a handful of jelly beans.
Cookie! Sarah says they’re pretty sweet and tells us it was kind of disgusting.
Next two boxes, banana cake and cheese cake.
Cookie!
Rebecca says Sarah’s her cousin but also her competition now. So she’s hoping Sarah doesn’t find immunity and learns her lesson.
Erm. If she hasn’t so far…!
Next two boxes, some disgusting looking sandwich and a delicious looking slice of mud cake.
Cookie!
They’re so dry, she says.
Next box is a glass of cola so Sarah scurries over and opens the other glass of cola box. Hurrah! Two boxes down!
Next box is a custard tart… and a banananananana!
Cookie!
Sarah says The Commando has said that if you’re going to go for Temptation, may as well go all the way. She’s not sure how many cookies it’ll take but she’ll be exercising day and night to get rid of the calories.
Sharlene tries to hide a doubtful smile at that one!
Sarah opens another box and it’s jelly beans. She tries to remember where the original jelly beans were… and gets it wrong, finding marshmallows!
Cookie!
She has a second crack at jelly beans… by opening the most recent one again. No! You fool! Open the one you think MIGHT be jelly beans and remember where the others are. Sigh…
Ad break!
And she finally gets another one right.
No cookie!
Cheeseburger and… I don’t even know what that was. Two blobs of caramel, maybe?
Cookie!
Custard tart again. And she re-finds the other custard tart. Another two boxes down!
Croissant with ham and cheese on it and a plate of potato chips.
Cookie!
Hayley announces it’s 1,000 calories in cookies. Crazy.
Bar of chocolate… Bar of chocolate!
Chocolate donut. Yum. Cream bun in the second box.
Cookie!
Sarah’s not sure how many more she can eat. She’s struggling to choke more down.
Sarah recalls before the show eating a 2L tub of ice cream and sprinkles and other things.
But she keeps going because there’s Immunity on offer. Idiot!
Cheeseburger again and… Immunity! One find down. Not a match though…
Cookie!
And now Sarah proves she’s a moron by reopening the Immunity box. You’re doing it wrong! Has she never played a matching game before?
Immunity ticket and a banana.
Cookie!
Immunity and a banana cake.
Cookie!
1,500 calories. She feels very sick in the stomach.
Sarah’s finally hit on the right idea and picks… a banana cake and a banana cake box.
Next is those weird caramel balls again and another croissant.
Cookie!
Lamington and… iced bun!
Cookie!
Muffin and… that weird looking sandwich again.
Cookie!
Iced bun and muesli bar.
Cookie!
2,000 calories. I think we’re missing some of the attempts.
Immunity and… ad break!
And after the ad break she opens up the other Immunity box and is over the moon. 2,000 calories for Immunity. She doesn’t mind though, saying it’s another two weeks at Camp Biggest Loser.
Dangit!
Michelle then has her boys in front of the Honour Board to show them Damien’s name on the board. Mish says she told him she’d save his life and look where he is now.
Michelle says they’re no longer the guys who came onto the show, they’re not taking the easy option.
Yeah, except for that easy option of sending Greg and Nate home, huh?
And now it’s time for The Contest. The first one as Singles, Damien says.
There’s nothing in The Contest Arena. Just a bare mat. Interesting!
Tonight’s discipline will be chosen by Leigh, as he was the winner of the Ultimate Athlete thing.
Leigh chooses Knowledge, of all things!
Damien, Leigh, Joe and Lara will be the Champions tonight. So Black and White don’t even get to take part?!
The Champions will be fighting for a 2kg advantage at the next weigh-in.
1kg for themselves and 1kg for any other contestant they choose.
In the first round Hayley will ask 5 questions. For every answer they get right they will bank 20 seconds.
The more time they bank, the better. Because they’ll use that time to do as many situps as they can. The Champion who does the fewest situps will be knocked out.
Still no explanation of why Black and White don’t get to participate. Seems very unfair, given the prize on offer. The four Champions are the Biggest Losers from the previous week, not like they need the help.
Question 1: There are 320 bones in an adult human body, true or false?
False is correct.
Which meat has the most fat?
100g of chicken, pork or beef?
Pork! They’re all right, too.
When the trainers weighed in, how much weight had the Commando put on in a week with The Moons?
6.9kg, 6.6kg or 5.9kg
Lara’s the only one to get it right, 6.6kg.
Beef has more sodium than chicken?
False. Joe is the only one to get it right.
The largest muscle in the human body is the gluteus maximus?
True!
Joe and Lara have 1min 20secs. Damien and Leigh have 1min each.
Lara’s going to be the pace setter.
Leigh’s calling out encouragement to her as she pushes through the pain in the final seconds. She manages 49 situps in total. Ought to be enough to beat Damien at least.
Joe’s starting to struggle in the mid 30s and actually gets one not counted by Hayley. 36 in total. Lara smashes Joe again!
Damien’s going to struggle to get above 30, I would imagine. But he’s up after the ad break.
Damien grits his teeth and gets started. Gets to ten without too much drama. Then twenty! Very impressive for a huge fella.
Joe’s not cheering Damien on and he tells us it’s because he didn’t want Damien to beat him, he wanted to keep getting through. What a dick.
Damien gets to 32 in the end. Not quite enough. But he had 20 fewer seconds, too.
Leigh needs to beat Damien’s 32 to progress.
Leigh gets underway with a very quick burst. 24 in 30 seconds. Should get there easily. But will he try and pip Lara?
38, 39, 40, 5 seconds to go.
43 in the end. Not quite pipping Lara but she also had 20 seconds more.
Damien is out but with a very big effort. Lara says Damien’s been an inspiration to her since Day One.
A round of 10 questions. 20 seconds banked again. And with that time they’ll have to do shoulder presses. The boys will have to do 17.5kg and Lara will only have 12.5kg on the bar, to try and keep things fair.
Orange juice has more calories than apple juice?
False, Lara’s wrong.
Mmmm, orange juice!
What has more calories?
1/2 cup of lentils or kidney beans?
Lentils is the answer they all give. Lara admits her’s was a guess!
How many fridges were in the Fridge Temptation.
10, 11 or 12?
Answer is 11 and they all get it right.
What has the most calories?
1 tablespoon of strawberry jam, peanut butter or mayonnaise?
Mayo, of course. Lara’s the only one to get that.
Combined family weight of The Moons on Day 1?
499.9kg, 409.9kg, 479.9kg?
499.9kg, Lara and Leigh both get it right.
How many Commonwealth Games Gold medals has Hayley won all together?
5, 6 or 7?
Hayley grins.
Both boys answer 7 and Lara answers 6! Hayley laughs and says “LARA!!” because the answer is, of course, 7!
How many calories in a tub of yoplait forme raspberry yoghurt?
71, 89 or 82?
71! All correct.
How many litres of water did they have to transfer to their barrel in the sand dune challenge?
120/180/140?
140. Lara and Joe both get it wrong!
A cup of cauliflower has less calories than a cup of spinach?
False, same calorie count for both. Joe is the only one to get it right.
Last time we saw Sarah-Jayne how much weight had she lost since Day 1 of this competition?
28.2kg, 26.8kg, 21.6kg?
26.8kg and they’re all wrong!
Leigh has 2mins 20secs. Joe has 2mins. Lara only has 1min 40secs.
She does have a lower weight to lift, though…
Leigh’s the first to start and Lara’s calling out encouragement to him. Awww!
Leigh’s shoulder starts to hurt around the 30 lift mark from where he’d dislocated it earlier in the season.
Leigh’s up to 50 as we return from an ad break but he’s struggling mightily. 53 in total. Well done!
Joe’s pretty sure he can beat Leigh though…
Joe’s hurting a lot as he gets to 47 but he really wants to beat Leigh so he has to keep going.
54 with 30 seconds to go!
Ends up with… 69, dude!
Lara has 1min 40secs to beat Leigh’s 53 shoulder presses. That seems… unlikely.
She powers through to 30 and keeps on going. She’s bouncing up and down and getting through them and gets to 49…
Tomorrow night The Contest is decided. Arg!
Also, Michelle is going to dig at Joe some more to find out what his problem is. Or something.
Then the weekly Challenge starts. A triathlon! And at the finish line is the people they love most in the world. Awww.
And it looks like Leigh is going to go arse over tit during the bike leg!
