TBL 6×17: Water Loading Challenge wraps up. Challenor v 3 Families wraps up. DUNDUNDUN!
Previously on The Biggest Loser the weekly challenge caused the expected drama. The 3 Families are at each other’s throats and both Joe and Nathaniel from The Challenors are sick of Damien.
Tonight we find out who wins the Challenge, who wins the weigh-in and who wins the next ticket home!
But first a bunch of recap footage from Friday!
3 Families are still bitching about too many bottles in the sled, Damien’s still giving Nathaniel the shits. Nathaniel says he’s had 5 weeks of being patient with his uncles. If they’re not going to listen to him then stuff em!
Nathaniel tells Damien to go away again or Nathaniel’s walking off. Damien still hangs around and so Nathaniel walks off.
3 Families would probably be excited by this if they weren’t so tired of loading and lugging water bottles.
But Nathaniel’s having a drink first.
Joe’s hoping Nathaniel pulls his finger out and gets back to loading because he knows he’ll be the one to be sent home if they lose at weigh-in.
3 Families are on their final load, as are Challenors. How convenient! It’s a race down the field with their sleds and then they’ve got to unload them too.
Frantic shovelling of bottles into their boxes and Joe gets down to the last bottle and triumphantly spikes it into the box.
Challenors win! They’ll be receiving a 2kg weight advantage at the weigh-in later this episode.
Red sit down for a chat in the lounge room to sort out the fissures in their team. Damien says, again, that he wasn’t trying to offend or put Nathaniel down. Nathaniel says he was in the zone and Damien kept coming along and breaking his concentration and he felt like he was putting him down.
Nathaniel tells us his uncles don’t seem to listen to him and treat him like a kid.
Damien says that Nathaniel’s becoming a man and so Damien and Joe need to listen to him a bit more now.
So they’re all HAPPY FAMILY again. Until the next time.
3 Families recap the events of The Challenge. Lara tells us the trainers were obviously a little upset they didn’t come away with the win.
Tiffiny tells us that the odds are against their team. Every year they’ve done this big team versus little team thing the little team has always won. But it’s time to change that!
Jarrod’s getting pushed hard by Shannan in training today. Shannan thinks Jarrod is frustrated and angry which tells him it’s something in his mind, not in the physical aspects.
Shannan’s really struggling doing pushups. Shannan’s encouraging him to go deeper in his pushups but Jarrod keeps falling over. His legs keep collapsing under him.
Jarrod eventually gets up and wanders away from Shannan. Shannan tells him there’s no running away, this could be his last week here!
Jarrod sits down at the side of the gym and Meg comes over and tries to coax him back. “YOU’RE A DUNCAN! You can do it!” Craig’s also telling him that they’ve got to stick it to The Challenors.
And when he comes back, Shannan hands him a pair of gloves. Yep, time for some sparring with Shannan. Proper sparring this time, with the head gear on and big gloves and Shannan’s actually bobbing and weaving and working the jab.
Jarrod says the fight was hurting and frustrating him. But he’s sticking in there and trying to fight back as well.
Lara says it’s awesome watching Jarrod be a boxer.
Then after the fight Jarrod says he’s got something for Shannan as well – a set of proper pushups across from each other while the rest of the families count them out. Awesome!
Challenors are off with Mish in their gym.
Michelle says Joe was training like a man possessed today. Joe’s had a rollercoaster week – Damien got sent home, Joe copped flak for it, they “won” the vote for which team should be voted out.
So Joe’s training hard enough for himself and the rest of the family combined!
Shannan’s confident coming into the weigh-in. He thinks that they’ve got a real chance at knocking the Reds off their perch.
Jarrod’s a little less confident. He’s worried some of the others may not have done everything they could to stay above the Yellow Line.
Hayley reminds us all that The Challenors have a 2kg advantage at the weigh-in. If they lose either Nathaniel or Joe will be sent home. If 3 Families lose, any of them could be sent home.
But since Damien’s not up for elimination and his weight can’t count to the Challenor’s total, he’ll be going first!
Damien Previous: 202.2kg
Damien Current: 201.6kg
Damien Loss: 0.6kg
Terrible. Shows he’s obviously not been training on the outside or eating right!
Joe told him he drove harder than he’s ever driven in his life to get him back on the show and he should be grateful for that. Damien says he is grateful but he doesn’t sound too convincing.
Sharlene’s not sure what’s going on either and says that if he’s up for elimination again she’ll vote for him again!
3 Families weighing in first with Rebecca leading the charge.
Rebecca Previous: 103.6kg
Rebecca Current: 101.3kg
Rebecca Loss: 2.3kg
Not spectacular, but not awful either.
Kellie Previous: 115.3kg
Kellie Current: 111.5kg
Kellie Loss: 3.8kg
Jodie Previous: 94.1kg
Jodie Current: 90.7kg
Jodie Loss: 3.4kg
Sarah Previous: 137.5kg
Sarah Current: 133.1kg
Sarah Loss: 4.4kg
Moon’s 13.9kg for the 3 Families so far.
Hayley asks Sarah if she’s happy with 4.4kg and Sarah says she can’t complain, 4.4kg in a week is magnanimous. That word, I do not think it means what you think it means…
Emma’s turn next. Go ninjas!
Emma Previous: 114.8kg
Emma Current: 110.2kg
Emma Loss: 4.6kg
Meg Previous: 118.6kg
Meg Current: 113.8kg
Meg Loss: 4.8kg
Meg’s really worried about Jarrod being in the firing line. They’ve already lost one family member and she’s really close to her brother. Awww.
Jarrod Previous: 122.5kg
Jarrod Current: 118.7kg
Jarrod Loss: 3.8kg
Hayley then announces that it brings the family’s total to 17.7kg, which clearly it doesn’t. That’s his weight plus the Moons so they’ve put them in out of order.
Sharlene from the Westrens now.
Sharlene Previous: 100.8kg
Sharlene Current: 96.6kg
Sharlene Loss: 4.2kg
Sharlene screams with joy when she sees the result. She says she knows she can do it now and she dances off the catwalk.
Craig Previous: 101.4kg
Craig Current: 98kg
Craig Loss: 3.4kg
Outdone by the wife!
Lara Previous: 92.9kg
Lara Current: 87.1kg
Lara Loss: 5.8kg
WOW. That’s a huge loss for a girl her size this far into the comp. And she’s stoked to be into the 80s!
40.5kg with just Leigh to go.
Leigh Previous: 115.1kg
Leigh Current: 107.9kg
Leigh Loss: 7.2kg
Another massive loss!
3 Families Total: 47.7kg
3 Families Percentage: 3.92%
Leigh answers Hayley by saying that the others might have to see him as a threat now.
Hayley asks Lara what she thinks of the new body and Lara says he’s hot. Erm… yeah. If you like people’re who’re still very much obese. Yikes!
Challenors need 9.8kg. Though they only need 7.8kg with their weight advantage. Which ought to be plenty doable.
Mish is a little concerned as Nathaniel’s been carrying an injury this week and thus hasn’t got the workouts he needs to do the big numbers.
Nathaniel Previous: 123.6kg
Nathaniel Current: 119.2kg
Nathaniel Loss: 4.4kg
So he’s done his end of the losing!
Joe’s last of all.
Joe Previous: 124.5kg
Joe Current: 119.6kg
Joe Loss: 4.9kg
Challenor Total: 9.3kg
This would put them below the Yellow Line. However they have a 2kg weight advantage.
Challenor Total: 11.3kg
Challenor Percentage: 4.55%
Lots of sick looks on the 3 Families side. Mish has a grin from ear to ear!
Jarrod looks the most upset.
Leigh’s the week’s Biggest Loser. Will the Challenors dump him instead?
Yeah, I doubt it too.
Time for Elimination Room!
Joe and Nathaniel are sitting down as everyone else from 3 Families files in.
Sharlene says that Leigh’s probably a big threat and so maybe he’d get voted out on threat basis.
Jarrod says it’s a weightloss competition and that’s about having a lot of weight and losing big numbers each week. In his opinion Sarah’s the biggest threat at the moment. He does say sorry to her, but that’s what he thinks.
Meg doesn’t want Jarrod to go home. She loves her brother, awwww!
Meg’s hoping everyone sees him as a challenge to push them harder, not a threat. See him pushing hard in training makes them want to train that hard as well.
Pretty sure The Challenors aren’t going to vote on that since they’re both lazy quitting fuckheads!
Joe says they spoke about it for hours and it wasn’t a clearcut decision. Joe had a clear idea at the start but Nathaniel said to really think about it and that obviously made Joe reconsider.
The person that he’s voted for he does admire because they’ve shown a lot of courage and strength. Very genuine and a very good heart… (Uhoh, Lara?)
So Joe’s vote has gone to… AD BREAK!
After the ad break Joe says the person he’s voted for has huge potential and Joe can’t compete with him. So Joe’s voted for… Jarrod, of course. What a surprise.
Joe says he doesn’t want to be in the position to have to vote for someone, but he is and there it is.
One of the girls asks how Nathaniel feels about it and he says that he and Jarrod had gotten to know each other a little better this week and if they’d had two separate votes Nathaniel would have voted for someone else.
Jarrod was expecting to be eliminated and he says he just hopes his sisters can keep going.
Meg says he’s been their rock – telling them to shutup when they need to, stop crying when they need to.
Jarrod says the hardest bit will be leaving his sisters behind. They’ve all grown closer while at Camp, getting to know each other as adults and such.
Sarah says she feels like she’s been given a second chance. I wish my eyes would have a second chance to stop rolling. Nobody really thought you were a threat, we all know you’re going to break again!
Jarrod says there’ll be big changes when he gets home. No more schooners at the bowling club. He’ll be going for a run or going to the gym.
Jarrod tells everyone they won’t recognise him when he comes back.
Time to say your goodbyes, Jarrod. Awwww!
Big Duncan group hug.
Jarrod says they’ve had a ball at Camp. And now he knows he can in fact do the training and Tiffiny’s been a big help. Train the mind and the mind will train the body.
“Youse are Duncans, remember!” Says Jarrod on his way out the door.
Wednesday! The remaining Duncans are going to drive a wedge between Joe and Nathaniel. They point out that Joe didn’t listen to Nathaniel on who to vote for and Nathaniel seems to be agreeing with them!
The Contest involves a pool and the trainers bailing water out of boats? Or something?
Then. The Challenge.
PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGS. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIN. MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD! \o/
