TBL 6×14: Elimination aftermath, this episode has a lot of it.

Previously on The Biggest Loser the foolish Reds foolishly tried to play the other teams for fools by putting Damien up for Elimination, thinking the other teams wouldn’t send him home.

They were wrong! It backfired spectacularly with a unanimous vote to send Damien home.

Tonight, EXPLOSIONS! DRAMA! Everyone hates Joe for being a gutless prick!
Also, the families get to vote on who they want out of the game. Surely it’ll be the much maligned Reds?
Then later we get even more footage of the trainers week in hell with their families, porking out before Fat Camp. Expected a lot more hurling!

Red and Black leftovers are in the lounge room waiting for the others to return from Elimination. Black’s pretty sure Jodie will be going home, since how could you send Damien home?
Pretty easily, actually.

Then Jodie comes back in, screaming in joy and they have a super big group hug.

Joe and Nathaniel both look unimpressed.
Joe then confirms, right to our camerafaces, that they put him up because they thought the sympathy vote would keep Damien safe.
Nathaniel also says that Damien needed to be there more than anyone. SO WHY DIDN’T YOU VOLUNTEER?

Rebecca’s raging and asks Red why they’d put Damien up? Lara’s livid, too. She says they should be ashamed of themselves, putting someone who weighs over 200kg up for elimination ahead of themselves.

They then start to go through the votes. Emma says if they’re willing to put him up, they must be willing to let him go home. Joe should have been a bigger man and should have stepped up.
Leigh was fuming, he says. He wanted to go and drag the Reds into the Elimination Room and show them what was about to happen.

Jarrod says, “Come on mate, why would you send your brother out there? Are you that gutless, Joe, that you can’t stand up?”

Joe then asks if they’re all finished. When they confirm they are, Joe tries to claim that he did put himself forward and Damien said no, he’d go up. And Damien wouldn’t hear anything to the contrary.
Lara says Nate’s not with him on this since Nate’s in tears. And Joe’s had enough and says if they want him gone, he’ll go. So he gets up and storms out, telling us that if they think that way they’re not worthy of speaking to.

Jodie and Lara both go over and give Nathaniel big hugs and try and comfort him.
Nathaniel and Damien had bonded a lot in the time they’d been there, he says.

Joe finds Nathaniel crying on one of the balconies and asks Nate what he wants Joe to do. Joe’s still saying it’s not his fault and he shouldn’t be copping the blame for it.

Then we finally hear Nathaniel talk to us… and he says if White and Blue were really upset about sending Damien home they shouldn’t’ve voted him out.
Yeah, because they’d’ve been super happy with the decision to send Jodie home instead? Crikey!

Sarah thanks the Blue and White teams for giving Jodie another chance and Lara says she does need to stay and the Black team aren’t playing games with them.

Leigh and Lara sum it up by saying it was the right decision – hard, but right.

Joe’s still talking to Nathaniel, saying to us that he thinks the whole house needs to apologise to him. Because they really hurt him and they don’t care.
Joe’s not going to quit though, he tells Nathaniel. They’ve got to work hard, grab it with two teeth and go hard.
Two teeth? Erm, okay!

Wouldn’t hold your breath on the apology, Joe.

Anyway, time for the trainers to jog up to Camp.
Michelle’s dreading it because she knows one of her family members will be up.

Lara tells Michelle that Damien’s gone and Michelle looks pretty livid. She heads off to Red’s rooms to find them because they weren’t even in the lounge with the other teams.
Michelle’s world has been turned upside down, she says.

Michelle’s a bit lost for words when she arrives at Red room and finds out Jodie, the lightest person in the house, went against the heaviest in the house and the vote was 4 straight for the heaviest person.
“Wow, that’s ruthless.”
Mish acknowledges that Red tried a tactic and it didn’t work… But White and Blue sent home Damien!
Red says they thought if they put Damien up they would keep him. Which totally puts the lie to all of Joe’s earlier bleating about it not being his fault. Telling one story to the others and one story to Michelle.
Mish insists they’ll not fall under the Yellow Line again because they’re clearly sitting ducks.

Meanwhile in the lounge Lara is saying that she thinks maybe they should have given Joe more of a chance to explain and Jarrod says no, Joe should have been the one to be going home.

Then, suddenly, a Hayley appears! She announces they should all head to the weigh-in room. So off they go for the latest twist!

Michelle is still looking mighty displeased!

Today they’ll have a chance to better their position in the game, Hayley says. Right here and now they can cast one vote. It’s not for an individual, it’s for an entire family.
They get to vote for the family they most want out of this game!

Sharlene says it’s not fair.
Michelle thinks it’s “cool!”

Shannan’s a little worried because The Westrens are on top of the leaderboard. Tiffiny’s worried it’ll be her ninjas, because they’re a massive threat.

First to vote will be The Moons. They each get an individual vote, apparently. So Red get the short end of the stick AGAIN!

Jodie’s voted for the Duncans, on the basis of them being the biggest threat.
Kellie’s also voting for the Duncans due to threat factor.
Sarah says they all knew instinctively who they would choose but doesn’t confirm her vote.
Rebecca does vote for the Duncans as well.

Jarrod’s voting based on strategy, 99% anyway. That 1% was him just wanting Joe gone!
Meg seemed to vote for The Moons? Really? Okay.
Emma’s not sure whether to vote for Red or Black and we don’t get to see. Arg!

Westrens up next.
Leigh’s also voted for Challenors due to Joe being a dick, though he doesn’t say that precisely.
Craig’s vote is a mystery.
Lara’s voted for the Challenors. Presumably for the aforementioned “Joe’s a dick” reason.
Sharlene’s vote is also a mystery.

Nathaniel’s turn. He’s voted for The Duncans.
Joe’s last of all.

AND HE VOTES FOR CHALLENORS!
Wow, ballsy move. He says he’s not sure what the result will be so he may as well play the game.

Michelle’s thinking they must be gone but also thinking, how can they be a threat? They only have two people!

Now everyone’s had their say and the votes have been tallied and the family with the most votes – by just one – is The Challenors.
So Joe’s definitely put them right in it!

The Duncans are very relieved.

Michelle says the other families just want to crush them.
Joe says it’s quite evident the other families want them gone. Nathaniel says he’s not ready to go home.
Michelle says that nobody wants to feel like they’re not wanted.

Hayley says that at Camp Biggest Loser, you don’t always get what you want. The Challenors don’t have to pack their bags just yet.

Yup. They’re doing the Two-Against-Many thing again. Challenors versus a Blue/White/Black melange.
Michelle says that if her boys want to come out fighting they’ve just been given the perfect opportunity.

If Challenors win at Weigh-In they can vote anyone from the opposing team out. However if the big team wins, they get to vote individually for one of the two remaining Reds.

Joe bursts in through the doors of the gym and Michelle likes it!
Joe and Nathaniel start off on the rowing machines and get going real hard, real fast.
Michelle tells them there’s no safety in numbers, there’s safety in training!
Michelle tells us she knows that if Red falls below the Line it’ll be Joe going home because the house has been baying for his blood since Day One.

Yeah, because he’s been a total dickbag since Day One, Mish!

Joe and Nathaniel are doing spinbikes and Michelle is pushing Joe to beat Nathaniel since Joe’s got the cycling history.
Michelle says Joe wants to prove he’s not trying to tear his family apart, he’s trying to keep it together.

Joe’s very fired up in the boxing part of the session, Nathaniel says. Looks like the usual half-assed Joe to me but I’ll take your word for it!
Mish is happy though, which is what counts.
She tells them that if they can keep that level of intensity up they can smash this challenge and they’ll be fine.

Shannan, Tiffiny and Steve take their blob of a team out onto the paradeground. Shannan says Red have the advantage with Michelle being able to give a lot more one on one time to her people.
Shannan’s giving them all a pep talk before they get started then they divide the people up.

Tiffiny gets four girls. Rebecca, Lara, Sharlene and Kellie. She’s really happy to have a bunch of girls for a change and she’s going to have them get their ninjas on, too!
Sharlene says Tiff is a petite little girl but by god she’s got a set of lungs on her! “She’s loud!” Sharlene thinks it’s great.

Steve’s got Craig, Leigh and Jarrod. He’s obviously relishing the chance to have some blokes to train!
Steve’s got a score to settle with Jarrod, too. Jarrod was the one who told him to get out of the house when White won the chance to have a family lose their trainer.
Jarrod’s a sick bastard as he was really hoping he’d get a chance to train with The Commando at some point!

Payback time, Steve says.
Steve tells the boys that if they fall below the line it’ll almost certainly be one of them that’ll be sent packing.
Jarrod’s very impressed with the workout he gets from The Commando.

Shannan’s got Sarah, Meg, Emma and Jodie. He wants to see what they’re made of. He wants them to get their heads right first, then he can push them harder.
Emma was the Biggest Loser last week so Shannan’s giving a bit more attention to Meg today. She misses her husband but that’s why she’s there, etc.

Shannan tells them that once you squeeze out the self doubt the body will do it.

End of the session, the group comes back together and lies on their backs in the middle of the paradeground. They’re all doing butterfly kicks to a ten count… but someone inevitably drops their feet onto the ground and so they have to start over again.
Then they have to start all over again. Shannan tells them to stop pulling faces and get the job done. They start over again and the second attempt goes a lot better.

After training Red is sitting in the lounge and Michelle comes wandering back in again. Mish needs to give them something to keep them motivated.
She takes them off for a walk somewhere to give them some inspiration.

They’re walking down a path at North Head when Joe can hear a little voice. I guess it’s tiny spawn of Joe’s? I sure hope it’s not Nathaniel!

Yup, after an ad break it is indeed Joe’s little son Joshua. Awwwwww!
And Nathaniel’s Mum and Dad. Joe also has a girl munchkin but she seems a bit young to be walking and talking and stuff.

Joe’s wife can see the changes already. His wife says that his time away has made her appreciate him more.

No, because she realised how much she needs him. Not appreciating the fact he’s gone.

Nate’s Mum and Dad say they can already see the differences in his body. His Dad says once Nate gets through this the world is his oyster.

You mean everyone’s Dad says crap like that?! I thought the world was MY oyster?!

And now it seems it’s time for the trainer’s Walk of Shame.
Mish says we didn’t see the half of what happened when the trainers were off for a week with their families.

Tiffiny’s the first we see chowing down some more at the pub dinner they had. “You don’t actually eat that green stuff, you know? That’s just garnish.” Or so The Duncans insist.
Tiff says she fell in love with her family right away but she hated their lifestyle.
She’d not eaten junk food or had alcohol prior to her stay with her family.
Tiff’s showing off her giant food belly, telling us she’s burned 213 calories heaving up the food and alcohol. Wow, seems puking is quite the workout!

Then on another day Jarrod serves up an enormous steak for dinner. With spaghetti from a can on top of it.
Tiff says for a man of Jarrod’s size the steak really needs to be about a quarter that size, about 100g instead of the half kilo.
Jarrod says it’s a bachelor’s diet. Tiff says, “It’s a heart disease, darling.”

Afterwards Jarrod is off to do some lawn bowls with the old folks. Because he doesn’t really fit in with people his own age. He lacks the confidence to make friends his own age, which Tiff says is incredibly sad.
But people around Jarrod’s age are mostly jerks!

Tiff says Jarrod is her warrior now. Big improvement.

Steve’s turn! He says The Moons didn’t know what hit them when they got to Camp. But he didn’t know what hit him when he spent a week with them.
“Being in the Army was a piece of cake compared to all the cake they tried to feed me.”
Steve is lying in bed, feeling dehydrated and has a massive headache like he’s been drinking and he honestly doesn’t want to get out of bed. “I don’t know how people do this day in, day out.”

After that Steve manages to find Sarah. She’s sitting around eating ice cream. She asks him if he wants some and he bravely says that if she’s having some, he’s having some.
“How much is in there?” “A whole tub.” “… no.” Sarah says it’s like a party in her mouth and it tastes good, that’s why she eats so much.

I’m a huge fan of ice cream but even that made me balk.

Steve eventually has to take a break and goes to the bathroom for some water and to freshen up a bit. He says he doesn’t know how people live like that.

Then we’re off to see Shannan. He rocked up to The Westren’s house when they were having a huge BBQ. Not just meat on a sandwich, mashed potato. Shannan’s horrified, asking us if you could possibly fit more starch and carbs in your mouth at once.
Shannan says the first week with them was one of the low points of his life.
Shannan’s trained his body and mind to get through the pain but this was too much for him. “No more! Make the bad food go away, make the bad food go away.”
The worst, Shannan says, were the dumplings. They’re coated in golden syrup. Or more like drowning in it. And then Sharlene adds some custard on top of it.
And the boys would eat three or four, maybe even push for five, in a single sitting. Shannan says the sugar rush from it was awful.

Then there’s a story about a dumpling eating contest between Leigh and Craig. And Leigh won by one. He ate ten of them. Shannan says even two of them is too much of a challenge for him. He doesn’t get through two of them, even. At one point he has to run away from the table to the toilet and stands over the top of it heaving and dry retching.
Shannan says to them that it’s poisoning them. He had no idea something could have that big an effect so quickly. And Craig says it’s the last time they’ll have that.

Back to Tiff! Meg was a couch potato when Tiff met her. Meg drives dump trucks underground, so she sits down all day, basically. Then she gets home and sits in front of the TV.
And, as stated many times before, Meg has a little bar fridge in the living room so she doesn’t have to walk to the kitchen to get a beer.
Meg offers Tiff a beer at that point, since Meg’s going to have one. Tiff seems a little leery but she agrees.

Apparently when she gets home from work she’ll usually polish off five beers?! Meg says she’s not a big food eater, the main contribution is from her alcohol intake.
And five is on her days after work. When she’s off work she’ll have up to twenty four stubbies. That’s… wow.
Tiff asks Meg if she ever worries about what it’s doing to her body and Meg says she worries all the time. So why hasn’t she done anything?! Arg!

Tiff says Meg’s made big changes since she arrived at Camp and she’s on the way to being the woman she’s always wanted to be.

Michelle’s turn. Michelle’s having lunch with all the Challenors.
She reminds us again about how the Dads are usually overweight as are the Mums and the kids and the dog. But the Mum and the kids and the dog are all skinny.
Damien’s wife has thought about how she’s going to cope looking after three kids without Damien, because he’s killing himself?
Mish says that Damien has never had anyone tell him he’s not being fair to his family.
Damien’s hoping to become the husband his wife deserves. Guess that won’t happen with Mish!

And we’re back off with Steve, this time having Tim Tams with Jodie.
Jodie’s been through breast cancer and is an emotional comfort eater. Sweet treats get her through the day.
What they have in front of them – six big bowls full of various junk foods and about eight cans of something – is apparently what she has PER DAY.
I’m a sucker for a snack but… wow.

Jodie’s missed out on a lot of things with her family because of her weight.
She’s recovered from breast cancer and she’s scared she might not be around for her family.

Steve says Jodie’s a fighter and the rock of the Black Team. He thinks she’s got what it takes to go back to her husband and kids a changed woman.

Emma was a chocaholic, Tiff says.
Emma has a cupboard full of junk food. She pulls out a big block of cadbury crunchie bar and Tiff says she didn’t even know they made them that big. It’s practically wider than Tiffiny’s body!
Apparently Emma would go to bed feeling sick from how full she would be.

Tiff then says that Emma used to be a model. And we get treated to some really hot shots of Emma when she was modelling. Like, super hot!
Emma tells us she’s put about 60kg on in the last five years.

Emma and Meg weren’t close when growing up, apparently. Emma was popular when growing up, Meg was part of the “outcast” group. She was always a bigger girl, not like Emma.
Meg got bullied and picked on during school and Emma didn’t really realise how much she’d gotten picked on.
Meg and Emma used to share a room and then when Meg left Emma got a bit depressed and turned to comfort eating.
And Meg worries about Emma’s weight more than she worries about her own. Meg’s been dealing with it for so long so she has the thick skin. Emma’s new to it all.

Tiff says the lovely thing in being part of the family is seeing the twins growing closer together and knowing they’ll be supporting each other on the outside.

Shannan’s off with Sharlene, next. Everyone makes sacrifices but Shannan thinks Sharlene’s made the biggest sacrifice. Sharlene had to leave her daughter Emma behind. Emma’s got cerebral palsy, if you’ve not been following along, and Sharlene is her primary carer.
Shannan wants Sharlene to know that Emma will be fine while Sharlene is gone. She can’t be doubting herself while she’s away or it’ll cost her, her family and Shannan a lot.
So Shannan asks Emma if her Mum has her blessing to go and do this and Emma doesn’t hesitate in saying yes. Emma tells Sharlene not to use her as an excuse, she’s done it too often and she really needs this.
Shannan says that since they have Emma’s blessing he doesn’t want to ever hear Sharlene say she has to go home to Emma. Sharlene even promises.

Oh, good, recap footage! Shannan says that he’s butted heads with Sharlene more than he has with anyone in his life. But now Sharlene’s finding out what it is to be Sharlene – not Craig’s wife, not Leigh’s or Emma’s Mum, just Sharlene!

Tomorrow night, three versus one week ramps up, Mr Voiceover Man says.
And then Joe takes on the best of the other teams… for the chance to bring back an Eliminated Contest.

“This is for Damien!” – Nathaniel
