TBL 6×09: Weigh-In, Elimination, Challenge Result. Not in that order.

Previously on The Biggest Loser… oh, right, up the stairs down the stairs up the stairs down the stairs for the Challenge!
Also, Red won at The Contest meaning Tiffiny’s team have no gym equipment for the rest of the week and they’re also only eating from a chinese takeaway shop. Mmmm, chinese food!

Tonight we find out who wins the Challenge! When we left on Friday it looked to be a two horse race between Blue and White, Westrens and Duncans, Tiffiny and Shannan’s teams. So many labels.
Also ahead tonight is another weigh-in and elimination. Joe’s going to talk about his daughter at the weigh-in. Why? Find out in about 30 minutes!

75 laps in and White and Blue are still level pegging. Black’s a mile behind.

Craig finally gets ruled out of further participation by the medics so it is just Leigh and Lara to continue the Challenge. But Lara’s on the ground now too, exhausted and overheated. Leigh thinks he might have to finish this himself.
But then Lara thinks about Leigh having to do the rest of the laps himself and she just couldn’t let him do that so she gets back up and does another lap.
Leigh’s in pain and Shannan tells him this pain will pass but what he does here today will last forever.

Blue’s gradually falling behind Jarrod and whichever White lady takes a turn to give him a break. But they’re hanging in there.
Tiff says Jarrod’s underestimated himself his whole life. Not today!

Emma does the final lap for White and carries the flag back down the stairs with the flag flapping in Tiffiny’s face and they finally get to the podium and plant their flag. White wins again!

Lara does the final lap for the Westrens. Leigh says them finishing second didn’t matter, the fact they finished at all was what counted.

Steve’s not letting his team off the hook though. They’re going to finish the 100 as well.
And they end up running the final lap as a group to celebrate the camaraderie, Steve included!
Everyone says that it doesn’t matter that they came last, they still completed the 100 and that’s an impressive feat for the group of Mums.

The Duncans get a 2kg weight advantage going into the weigh-in. Sarah-Jayne says they really needed the advantage this week as they’re eating chinese food for the week and have no equipment or gyms, so every little bit will help.

Tiffiny says this week has been war for Team Duncan. They’re the strongest, fittest team in there and the other teams want to tear them down but that just means they train that much harder.

Somehow today they’ve got tires to train with. Tsk, Tiffiny’s cheating!
Sarah-Jayne says she’s still not light on her feet, still feels like a big clumpy elephant. Ha!
Tiffiny says that Sarah-Jayne came in with a bunch of excuses but she’s turned that all around now she’s started training and is really putting in the work.

Steve’s got his ladies on the treadmills to start their last chance training. Then he takes them one at a time and puts them through a circuit. Some rowing, some kettle bell work and a box jump. Falling below the Yellow Line this week is not an option!

Commando tells them to put the treadmills on 9km/hr. Three of his ladies are soldiering on pretty well, Sarah’s grunting and groaning as usual. Kellie and Jodie both keep running along throughout Rebecca getting off the treadmill to whinge and Sarah sitting down on the treadmill to whinge.
Steve’s not letting them off so easy though! Each time someone flakes out they have to start their minute at 9km/hr all over again. Jodie and Kellie should have awesome numbers at this rate!
Eventually after a lot of shouting and emotion from The Commando they get it done. Hooray!

They all file into the weigh-in room. No ad break in between for a change!

Sharlene of the Westrens says they’ve all had a good week this week and Shannan’s been pleased with them too, so she’s expecting some good numbers.
Damien says he really hopes they don’t lose yet another member this week. Damien and Joe both have stools to sit on today. Wonder what Joe’s done?

Anyway, Westrens get the “honour” of going first!

Leigh’s worried. He knows he’s burned a lot of calories, but will it be enough?
Leigh Previous: 121.2kg
Leigh Current: 115.7kg
Leigh Loss: 5.5kg

Leigh says he’d rather be healthier than rich, after Hayley asks him if he regrets not taking the money. Shannan tells us he thinks that weightloss was a fair reflection of the work Leigh had done this week. Shannan’s proud of him.

Craig Previous: 109.7kg
Craig Current: 105.1kg
Craig Loss: 4.6kg

He says it’s a good loss, but he bets he can do better!
Craig says he doesn’t know what he’d do if Sharlene had been sent home. She’s the love of his life. Aww!
Apparently Craig’s new nickname is “Husky”, because he’s looking like one with his hair.

Lara Previous: 97.6kg
Lara Current: 94.2kg
Lara Loss: 3.4kg

Very good, considering how light she already is, relatively speaking.

Sharlene Previous: 106.7kg
Sharlene Current: 103.6kg
Sharlene Loss: 3.1kg

Westren Total: 16.6kg
Westren Percentage: 3.81%

Might not be enough. Usually you need above 4% to be safe, but we’ll see.

Next family to weigh in is The Moon family.

Kellie gets to go first.

Kellie Previous: 123kg
Kellie Current: 117.8kg
Kellie Loss: 5.2kg

Rebecca Previous: 109.6kg
Rebecca Current: 105.9kg
Rebecca Loss: 3.7kg

Jodie Previous: 99kg
Jodie Current: 94.9kg
Jodie Loss: 4.1kg

Jodie says that Sarah’s been saying she’s burned over 2,000 calories a day and Jodie hopes she’s being honest.

Sarah Previous: 147.8kg
Sarah Current: 141kg
Sarah Loss: 6.8kg

That’s much more like it!

Moon Total: 19.8kg
Moon Percentage: 4.13%

They’re now in first place.

Sarah was worried after her first week’s weak loss. But she’d be doing backflips now, if she could.
She tells Hayley the clouds in her head are clearing every day. She’s ready to live each day instead of spending it in bed all day. She’s proud of what she’s doing.

Challenor’s next. They’ll need at least 20.2kg to beat the Moons and stay safe from elimination.

Nathaniel Previous: 134.3kg
Nathaniel Current: 128.2kg
Nathaniel Loss: 6.1kg

Not bad, not bad at all!

Joe’s got a lot of tape on one of his knees, so I guess he’s buggered one of them up in training.

Joe Previous: 133.7kg
Joe Current: 127.3kg
Joe Loss: 6.4kg

Total is now 12.5kg. Leaves quite a bit for Damien to do!
Family is very important to Joe, he says. It’s been hard being away from his wife and two kids. “My daughter…” Bursts into tears. His daughter and him are inseperable and he married his best friend. But he’s slowly changing and he’s letting walls down that Michelle’s told him he needs to.

Damien needs at least 7.7kg of lossiness to keep them safe. He’s still stepping on the scales without a shirt. Surely that won’t last much longer.

Damien Previous: 220.3kg
Damien Current: 209.9kg
Damien Loss: 10.4kg

WOW. Very good second week loss. Michelle seems quite chuffed!

Challenor Total: 22.9kg
Challenor Percentage: 4.69%

They’re now in first place and safe from elimination. The Westrens will now definitely face Elimination, it remains to be seen who’ll be there with them.

Damien dedicates their result this week to Greg. Michelle took them to a place they didn’t want to visit. He takes his hat off to Mish, they’ve built a bridge back to their brother/uncle and it feels good again.
Damien shakes Joe’s hand when he gets back and Michelle gives Nathaniel a POKE to make him hug Damien. Heh.

That leaves only The Duncans! They’ll need at least 18.5kg of weightloss to stay above The Moons. They do have a 2kg advantage, though.

Emma Previous: 123.9kg
Emma Current: 120.3kg
Emma Loss: 3.6kg

Not too bad. But as Sarah-Jayne says, it won’t be enough.

Meg Previous: 126.1kg
Meg Current: 123kg
Meg Loss: 3.1kg

Sarah-Jayne Previous: 115kg
Sarah-Jayne Current: 111.9kg
Sarah-Jayne Loss: 3.1kg

Sarah-Jayne says she needs to be there till the end. She’s enjoying the physical and mind changes she’s been going through.
As SJ gets back to the peanut gallery Tiffiny’s in tears as she’s coming to realise her team might go below the Line for the first time.

Jarrod’s last. He’ll need at least 8.7kg to beat The Moons. That’s crazy for someone who’s really not one of the big boys. But Tiff has hope!

Jarrod Previous: 129.2kg
Jarrod Current: 126.8kg
Jarrod Loss: 2.4kg

Not even close to enough. Poor lad. He says that’s twice this week he’s let the family down.

Duncan Total: 14.2kg
Duncan Percentage: 2.87%

Even with their advantage they’re in last place. Ouch!
Tiff’s in tears now. She doesn’t want to lose one of her ninjas!

Joe’s managed to be this week’s Biggest Loser. Mish says it’s fantastic since he was third last, last week. The Challenors are also the week’s Biggest Losing Family.

Duncans and Westrens will now face Elimination. Each family has to choose a family member to face Elimination.
Before the decision is made, everyone has to leave the room, trainers included.

Craig says they’ve bonded well with the Duncans, share a lot of values, so it’s hard to decide.

Sarah-Jayne immediately puts her hand up. She says the others have more strength and speed and they can still go all the way. She can do it outside.
“Don’t go smoking!” “No. Oh god no.” Hope she sticks with it. She’s had a couple of weeks away from it so she ought to be clean of the nicotine.
Meg’s in tears at the thought anyway.

The Westrens meanwhile are in their huddle. Craig says it has to be one of the parents. Lara asks why not herself and Craig says no, her and Leigh aren’t even in the equation. Awww. *sniff*

Duncans have selected Sarah-Jayne. Westrens have selected… Sharlene? I really thought Craig would go ahead of her. I guess they couldn’t put a dude up though as that makes it much easier to decide.

Hayley says she’ll see them at Elimination but she can barely croak it out through her own tears. Awww!
She says to say goodbye to them all.

Sharlene doesn’t want to leave her husband or her kids, her heart’s breaking.

But as Hayley heads out the door Craig asks her to wait because they’ve made the wrong decision. He needs to be the one to go up, not Sharlene!

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN AD BREAK!

Hayley says they’ve just made the decision. To formally change it they’ll need permission from The Duncan Family.
They all look at each other and they say they can’t go against them like that, they’ve bonded so well. But we don’t get to find out right away. We go to the Elimination Room which contains Red and Black – who had their respective victims in there last week!

As expected, Sarah-Jayne and Craig turn up.
Jodie was shocked at seeing Sarah-Jayne and Craig. She thought it would be Sharlene as Sharlene’s been injured and has been missing their daughter, Emma.

Damien’s surprised by Sarah-Jayne, thinking Jarrod would have stepped up.
SJ says that Jarrod’s strong and at the end of the day it’s still a game and you’ve got to be strong enough to not be up for Elimination every week. The twins work so well together and their bond and strength spreads through the family.

But SJ is worried for her health. She was worried about her health before even coming on the show. Her bio age was 52, which everyone was there to see. She needs this, she needs the show to save her life.

Craig’s actually quite happy to go home tonight. He’s struggling with the food and not sleeping, been putting a lot of pressure on Sharlene, holding the team back. He’s sure he can do this on the outside, now. Sarah-Jayne needs this more than he does. He says if some of them have had issues with SJ, it’s hard living together. Forget all that though, vote with your heart and do the right thing. Awww, Craig!

Craig’s the smart vote regardless. Always smarter to vote out the guy because they’ll invariably do better on the scales.

Anyway, first to four votes will be going home. No ties tonight as there’s only 7 votes in play.

Rebecca says it’s a hard choice, one person who’s young and has the chance to change their life. Then another who’s not so young but still wants to live a long life.
Rebecca says she did vote with her heart… she’s voted for Sarah-Jayne! Craig looks a bit disappointed by that and Sarah-Jayne looks upset, of course.

Joe says they’re like a family in the house but over the past week his family was personally attacked. That really didn’t sit well with him and there’s been other things said through the week, too, by the same person. And therefore his vote goes to Sarah-Jayne.

Uhoh! Craig’s plea may not work!

Jodie then says they all need to be there for different reasons. One person there is a major threat and the other person has a child with special needs so she’s being cruel to be kind.
So she’s also voted for Sarah-Jayne. Wow.

It’s down to Nathaniel, then. Given he’s another Challenor I’d say it’s a fair bet he’s voted out Sarah-Jayne but… ad break!

As we get back we have Hayley remind us SJ has three votes. One more and she’s going home.

Nathaniel thought about how people would go on the outside and he knows where Craig is coming from as he had a brother with special needs, but in saying that… he’s voted for Sarah-Jayne, too.

Sarah from The Moons is trying to comfort Sarah-Jayne but she shrugs it off.
SJ is devastated, of course. But she says she has no hard feelings because they all have to vote how they feel best.

Craig says he feels bad for SJ. He respects everyone for wanting him to stay but he would have loved to have gone home. He’s struggling to get his head around being there and Hayley asks him if that’s not the reason he really needs to be there.

Jodie says she’s a teacher and she knows what it’s like, the special needs kids need their parents to be around for as long as possible.

SJ says when we next see her she’ll fit into her black party dress and looking fantastic.

Time to leave, Sarah-Jayne. Say your goodbyes! Big hug for Craig.
She says two weeks ago she had no love or respect for herself at all and after two weeks at Camp she’s feeling love for herself again, respect for herself. She’s grateful for the small amount of time she’s had on the show.

But she leaves without hugging anyone else on the way out, heh.

Wednesday night the Duncans are furious that their big sister got the boot!
Shannan sets Craig a challenge to prove he wants to be there.

And Temptation looks like it’ll be some kind of weird gross Fear Factor type test. But family immunity is on the line so you can expect many participations.

Later in the week the champions battle in a contest of knowledge. Every wrong answer means more weight on their shoulders.
And the Challenge is filling and carrying sandbags across the parade ground. Should’ve sent them to Queensland. Or Victoria. Or… NSW. It’s been flooding everywhere lately.
Prize for winning the Challenge? Letters from home. Already?
