TBL 5×66: The Pre-Finale Final Episode

Previously on The Biggest Loser Phil and Joe returned to Camp Biggest Loser, more determined than ever before!

Tonight, the very last Last Chance Training on the Final Day at Camp and only one Castaweight will go on to the Finale and the final weigh-in for everyone else will determine this year’s Final Four. Very exciting, peoples!

The show opens in darkness! Night time, last training session, searchlights covering the yard, a pile of junk in the middle, Michelle and Shannan have VERY SERIOUS FACE.
And natty jumpers!

There’s gigantic posters of each of the remaining contestants as they first appeared on the show strung up beside the parade ground.

To start with let’s grab all the stuff in the middle of the parade ground and go put it in organised piles at the base of the stairs.
Everyone’s talking about how at the start of the show they’d’ve bitched and moaned about this training session where tonight they just get stuck straight in.

Joe’s going hard in the training tonight because he knows he’s up against Phil at the weigh-in.

The contestants are already feeling the heat, Michelle says, but her and Shannan want to get one on one with them.

The old Daina would never have been able to do the training tonight but now she’s come so far, physically and mentally. Tonight she’s a woman in complete control!

Shannan’s training alongside Wayne. He’s taken him back to the athlete he was back when he was playing footy. Tonight Shannan’s going to try and make Wayne keep up with him. It’s obvious Shannan’s still holding back a little but then he’s probably 10-15 years younger, too!

Joe’s carrying the heavy boxing bag back and forth over the parade ground… as they turn on the sprinklers again!
Joe’s attitude is his biggest change, he says. How bad does he want it, Michelle asks and Joe says if he needs to be out there all night, he’ll be out there all night. No sleep won’t kill him, losing to Phil might.

Lisa’s backing herself 100% for the first time in her life. She might go up and down a few kilos but she’ll never be overweight again.
Shannan was worried early on that Lisa wouldn’t make it through the process but now she’s strong.

Phil says the old version of himself is done and dusted. He’s come leaps and bounds from where he used to be. Somewhere inside himself he found the will to fight.

Shannan then says something very revealing – he originally thought Shannon may have been beyond saving. Shannon says he doesn’t know what made him keep going on that first day. He should’ve given up, that’s what he wanted to do.
Shannon says this was his last hope in life and now there’s nothing he can’t do if he puts his mind to it.
Shannan asks him how he knows that the old Shannon won’t be back? And Shannon says because he told Shannan he won’t and his word means something. His word is everything.

The training session seemed to be over but then Michelle and Shannan line them all up face to face with their Day One posters where they’d been watching the session.

Wayne jumps through his at the prompting of Shannan. Lisa kicks her way through, as does Daina. The other boys all leap through their posters with grins on their faces.

Weigh-in time. DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
Very last one so everyone is hopeful and looking forward to it being done with.

No immunities this week, it’s all down to the work they’ve done.

Two sets of weigh-ins today, essentially. Phil and Joe will have to weigh-in against each other.
Also the current Final Four will then have to immediately weigh-in and be compared to the Castaweights winner. The two people who fall below the Yellow Line will then face Elimination. So theoretically that could be a Castaweight? I think? Not sure…

Phil’s the first Desert Rat to weigh-in.

Phil’s start weight: 146.9kg
Current weight: 85.5kg
Loss: 61.4kg – 41.8%

Wow! That sort of result would be impressive at the Finale, nevermind weeks beforehand as this was!
Phil’s really happy with his result since he’s gone past his original goal.

Joe’s turn now. To win he’ll need to have lost 75.3kg in total. Ouch, that’s a lot of weight!

Joe’s start weight: 179.9kg
Current weight: 102.2kg
Loss: 77.7kg – 43.19%

ONYA JOEY! Joe is now officially back in the competition! He seems quite overwhelmed by his success. But he’s proud of himself. Was proud weeks ago, but now it’s really paid off for him.

Time to say goodbye, Phil! Hugs and kisses and so on, then he’s GONE. For around 90 minutes, anyway.

Joe now has his NT-till-now results tabulated for the rest of the weigh-in.
Joe’s NT weight: 105.5kg
Current weight: 102.2kg
Loss: 3.3kg – 3.13%

Wayne’s going up first. He’s not very confident because he’s not sure he’s done the work…

Wayne’s current weight: 101.1kg
Loss: 1.1kg – 1.08%

That won’t be enough! Second place behind Joe so far. He doesn’t think it’ll be enough. He thinks he might have to rely on the old alliance to get him through…

Lisa’s turn next!

Lisa’s current weight: 70.9kg
Loss: 0.1kg – 0.14%

Oh, ouch. That’s put her in serious danger now. As one of the bigger losers in the competition so far she’s definitely at risk!
She doesn’t think she’s done enough. Though she’d been hoping for at least 1.1kg to get under the 70kg mark.

Next up… Daina. To beat Wayne and be guaranteed to be safe she needs to have lost 900 grams. Just 900 grams!

Daina’s current weight: 78kg
GAIN: 2.4kg – 3.17%

She doesn’t seem too distraught by the number at first, but then she starts tearing up a little. She was feeling good about being home and about how her weightloss has progressed from there and since coming back she’s not really felt in The Game, trying to get to the Final Four.
She says she’d prefer to be the one being voted out if it comes down to that because she’s seen how passionate they all are about getting into the Final Four.
Lisa gives her a cuddle when she gets back though. Cuddles make everything better!

Shannon needs to have lost at least… 200 grams. Just 201 grams will get him a spot in the Final Four!

Shannon’s current weight: 129kg
Loss: 3kg – 2.27%

He’s quite pleased, as you’d imagine!

Lisa and Daina will be the ones facing Elimination.

Shannon’s stoked to be in the 120kg range now and he’s only 2.4kg away from beating Bob’s record from last year, apparently.
And Shannon never thought he’d make it past the first day. He could barely walk 1km at the start of the show and now he walks that like it’s nothing!

Joe, Shannon and Wayne will definitely be in the Finale.

But first they have to decide who’ll join them in the final: Lisa or Daina?
Joe’s very sad because he really likes Daina and he’s grown fond of Lisa too.

Hayley will see them all at Elimination!

After an ad break Daina’s pushing hard for her to be the one to be eliminated because she doesn’t really want the pressure and she wants to leave Lisa with a clean shot and so on.
Joe says she’s a good friend but he’s also got to think of his chances of winning. Wayne says much the same.

Joe has a chat with Lisa. Joe doesn’t want to write Lisa’s name down. But Lisa’s going to be the tougher competition. She asks him if he wants a race all the way to the end? Because Joe would love that.

Joe and Wayne go for a chat. Joe says he wants to keep Lisa because he wants to win and be able to say he beat the toughest competition.
Wayne says he’s not sure it’s the smart way to go. Of course it’s not but sheesh, grow a pair! You can beat a woman!

Final Elimination time!

Daina’s got a cute purple top on and is all dolled up. Pretty!
Hayley says she’s done really well in the competition and she’s an inspiration to all young women battling weight issues, especially with her efforts in the marathon.

Lisa’s an inspirating to Mums around Australia and both her and Daina are shining examples to everyone in the country, etc.

Joe’s the first to cast his vote. Joe says he adores both girls, but he wants to be able to go home and look his Dad in the eye and say he’s won it against the best three competitors and be proud of himself, etc.

Wayne’s vote next. He’s been in an alliance with Daina and Lisa’s the biggest threat and he’s extremely competitive so he’s voted for an ad break. Snore.
Wayne’s voted for… Daina! :-o
Didn’t see that coming, especially with Wayne talking about how he’s very competitive and so on.

Daina says she’s loved her time on the show. She knows the Final Four will be very competitive. And she knows they all have a real chance of being the winner.

But now it’s time to say your goodbyes and leave Camp FOREVERRRRRRRR.
Bye Daina! Seeya in a bit over an hour’s time at Finale!

Time for limos to come pick everyone up to take them home. They’re all looking forward to heading home. Joe’s in tears as Shannan and Michelle say goodbye to them. Lisa looks like she’s on the verge of it, too.

Michelle says it’s exciting to see how far they’ve come but also a little sad to say goodbye.

Michelle says to Wayne that it’s empowering to see a man his age get it all back.
Wayne thanks Shannan for helping him get it all back, too.

Shannan says the contestants have become part of his family. It’ll be tough not to see them but he’s only a phone call away.

Michelle says she’s so proud of Joe. Both are crying. Awww!
He says he’s still got one promise to fulfill – getting to 95kg. Might not happen by Finale but it WILL happen and Michelle says she believes him. But it’s time to go before things get any messier!

Lisa doesn’t know what to say to Shannan. “Thankyou for believing in me.” Shannan thanks her for being so brutally honest with herself. He thinks the whole of Australia could take a leaf out of her book and he asks Shannon if he agrees and Shannon does.
Lisa never thought the show would change her life, she didn’t even think she needed help and now coming out the other side she wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Shannon’s last to go. He says he thought he’d be ready to run away from this place. But not so much.
Shannan and Michelle agree that his transformation is the most dramatic they’ve ever seen. From someone who was so broken down and ready to check out at 24, to this – the last man to leave Camp.
Shannon says he likes to downplay what Shannan does, but he’ll be forever thankful to him. Shannon says that Shannan didn’t do it, he gave him the tools and showed him the way and here’s his creation. It’s not done yet!
Michelle says that’s what they live for, seeing the results for such people. Shannan says that’s his paypacket. He could do this for the rest of his life and not earn a cent and he’d be happy.
Don’t let the producers hear that!
Shannon says the journey has been hard but he’s also sad to never be coming back. This place has given him everything he ever wanted.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnd the pre-finale final weigh-in thing episode is done! Come back in about 3 hours for the recap of the Finale and find out who won!

Or, you know, go watch it on TV you fools!
