TBL 5×60: Last Desert Weigh-In and Second Last-ish Camp Biggest Loser Weigh-In… I Think.
Previously on The Biggest Loser Daina and Wayne won their way back into the competition… but can they handle the pace of training back in the House?
Tonight, weigh-in night follows Last Chance Training, as it always does. Wayne struggles with the intensity of the training and someone has potentially let themselves down at the weigh-in… who will it be?
Stay tuned to find out!
Michelle and Shannan walk up to the house today. Michelle’s got a gimpy leg so they’re not running for a change. Poor girl!
Shannan’s voice is actually almost back to normal now.
Shannan asks them how they are after the marathon. Daina says she’s wrecked, Wayne says he’s never been that sore in his life, not even after a footy match back in the day.
Shannon was sore after the 10km. Not as sore as the other two, but yeah he felt it!
Lisa didn’t want to be left out though. So she’d sat on a spinbike for six hours. Ouch!
Shannan says he and Michelle have both done marathons before… but neither of them have ever sat on a spinbike for six hours.
Lisa managed 205km on the spinbike. And she says she’s been sore ever since, in places you shouldn’t be sore!
Lisa says she’d wanted to walk some of the 42km but she wasn’t allowed to, so she tried to come up with something else she could do. Michelle tells us that’s the mark of a champion.
Shannan tells them all it’ll be one of the toughest weigh-ins they’ve ever had. Three people who’ve been there a while versus two who’ve been out of the game for a bit.
Shannan asks everyone if they’re still in a positive frame of mind. David says he’s been struggling a bit. He’s been focused on the weightloss and he’s almost at his goal weight now so he’s struggling to stay in it, mentally.
Shannan says this challenge is David’s marathon and Michelle says she knows he has more in him yet, she just knows it.
Time for some kickass Last Chance Training!
Don’t think Michelle will be doing too much asskicking with her gimpy leg!
Shannan’s got Lisa, Shannon and Wayne doing some high intensity interval stuff. Lots of cardio and weights and so on.
Wayne’s nervous about Last Chance because he’s not done it for a while and he knows it’s always pretty tough. He thinks he’s in good shape but now he’s going to find out.
Shannon’s looking forward to observing Wayne’s training since he’s been gone a while. See how intense he works out these days.
Wayne’s two stations into the session and he’s struggling. He’s not sure if they’ve been doing harder work in the House or if he’s still feeling the effects of the marathon.
He has a look over at Shannon and Lisa and is surprised that they both seem fresh as daisies, still.
Shannan tells us you can’t be unfit and finish a marathon but Wayne’s obviously not used to this intensity of training.
Wayne’s a wreck, Shannan says, but he’s not going to give up, he’s got a point to prove.
Wayne was a little disappointed when he went home because he’d not quite finished the job off. But he still thinks he can catch the other guys up.
He feels like his Dad would be proud of him now. Shannan says that he’d been carrying around the burden of not being able to do anything for his Dad when he died in his arms of a heart attack.
He was hoping his Dad was looking down on him and being proud of him and so on.
Michelle’s pushing David hard in Last Chance today. He’s been there since Day One and this is his chance to prove he can go the distance.
Which are you going to do, finish with class or finish on your arse? Daina and David both say class.
Daina’s grinning away through the early phases. She’s going to work damn hard, Michelle thinks. She thinks she has it in her to get back in.
Daina says it’s weird to be there without Caitlin. She was originally there just because Caitlin needed to be there, she even sacrificed herself for her sister way back in the day.
Now she’s come back refreshed and strong and she thinks she can make it to the final four.
Meanwhile in the Northern Territory… Joe’s 21st birthday!
Phil’s made him a home made present. And is singing a stupid song. As usual.
Phil’s dressed up a coconut with some flowers and other bits and pieces.
Joe’s also got a proper present from his family, too. A signed Cowboys jersey!
Fits perfectly, too.
Joe’s stoked. “Born to be a Cowboy player mate!”
Phil looks for the size on it and it’s a Medium. He has a 4XL jersey at home and Joe couldn’t fit into it. Ouch.
Then Joe gets called outside by The Commando. Alone!
Steve asks him what he’s wearing. It’s his 21st birthday present!
Steve then asks him how it feels to turn 21 and Joe says good, really good.
Commando Steve says what he’s achieved in this competition is amazing and he should be very proud of himself. Steve’s going to give him some alone time to read his cards but he wanted to say Happy 21st and gives him a big manly handshake. Awwww!
Oooh, now a catchup with Phoebe… Who we only just saw anyway. Hmm.
Yep, she looks much like she did at the marathon. But in prettier dresses!
Size 22 before coming on the show she’s a size 12 now.
She’s really looking forward to walking out on stage at Finale and feeling like she owns the room. Woo!
Phil and Joe head off for another weigh-in. Probably about their last weigh-in before returning to Sydney. Eep!
Phil weighs in first.
Phil: 84.3kg
Loss: 4.7kg – 5.26%
That’s his goal weight achieved! So he’s absolutely stoked. He’s really happy to be able to go home and be a better husband and a better father to his kids.
Phil says he’s got a lot more self confidence now and he’s learned from his mistakes. He’s confident that if he’s the one who gets back in he’ll do well.
Joe’s turn. He thinks it might be all over for him now though. 4.7kg at this late a stage is massive.
Joe: 105.5kg
Loss: 7.6kg – 6.7%
Phil doesn’t look too impressed at all. Think maybe things between them have cooled a bit lately? It’s all seemed a little awkward today.
Joe’s really happy that he’s a lot closer to his goal weight… and especially happy to have closed the gap between himself and Phil. Bring on the next weigh-in, Joe thinks.
Last weigh-in in the Top End, Commando says. But training isn’t over yet!
And now it’s weigh-in time at The Biggest Loser House. Everyone’s nervous about how much they’ll have lost and how much they’ll need to have lost, etc.
Hayley’s wearing a really weird black dress today. Wavy bits and random spikes and… weird.
Wayne and Daina’s weight was recorded on the same day as the last weigh-in. So it’s an even playing field. So the two people with the lowest percentage loss for the week will be facing Elimination.
Daina’s up first.
Daina: 75.6kg
Loss: 3kg – 3.82%
Nicely done for her first week back. She’s feeling confident at this point.
She says it’s a bit weird being back since the House is so much more empty than it was last time. But it’s only for a short time so she’s got a clear goal to work towards.
Daina doesn’t even recognise the old version of herself. And she’s only 5.6kg from her goal weight now. And she feels amazing and fit and so on. She ran a marathon and was only 2 minutes behind Wayne!
Next up is Wayne, so both the new returnees are up first? Hmmm.
Wayne: 102.2kg
Loss: 8.6kg – 7.76%
Ouch. That’s probably going to guarantee him first place. He’s a little disappointed at not quite getting to 10kg. He was hoping to get under 100kg this week.
He’s about 7kg off what he was 12 years ago when he was still playing footy and now he’s thinking about maybe playing in the “Masters” league or getting into refereeing, anythings possible now.
Wayne’s plans now? Get into the Final Four!
Wayne says seeing the three people who’re a little “broken down” with injuries still working their butts off and making it all the way through is a real credit to them.
Wayne is asked if he thinks they’re threats and David and Shannon are both nodding their heads, bwahahaha.
Lisa’s turn now. First of the old guard!
Lisa: 71kg
Loss: 3.4kg – 4.57%
Second place so far!
Lisa’s really happy. She’s 1kg away from fitting into her wedding dress. She’s hoping she can fit into it already.
She’s lost 50.9kg since being there. It’s like a person. Lisa asks if it’s like a Hayley and Hayley sort of halfsmiles-halfsads, “No, no… Probably one of your daughters though!”
Shannon’s up now. He needs 6.4kg to be sure to stay in the game. He says he didn’t think he’d have that in him so he’d be facing Elimination this week, so so be it!
Shannon: 132kg
Loss: 6.5kg – 4.69%
Just squeaked in. Jusssssssssst squeaked in ahead of Lisa. So Shannon is definitely safe and now Daina, despite her good loss, will be facing Elimination.
Shannon’s lost 82.3kg since Day One. That’s more than Daina or Lisa weigh now!
Shannon thinks when he first arrived he probably wasn’t liked much. He was a negative, angry person back then. He took advantage of it being up to him whether he’d work out or not.
But not anymore. He gets up in the morning and exercises, has lunch and then exercises, that’s life now and that’s what it’ll take for him to get to where he is now.
He’s never felt capable of doing absolutely anything.
Now he can do whatever the hell he wants to do!
David’s last. He’ll need at least 4.4kg weightloss to put Lisa below the Yellow Line. He’s not sure he can do that after a huge loss last week.
David: 97.3kg
GAIN: 1.9kg – 1.99%
He looks horrified. But not surprised. Just… Hmmm.
Obviously he’s now facing Elimination alongside Daina. Meaning he’ll almost certainly be going home!
This is the second time he’s put on weight. He’s shattered. He says people say the scales don’t lie but he put in so much effort and that comes up? He doesn’t think anyone would say that’s a reflection of the week he’s had and the effort he’s put in.
David desperately wants to say. He’s struggling a bit but he’s going to keep going, no matter what.
Wayne’s Biggest Loser of the Week, big surprise.
Lisa’s lost more than 50kg so far and though they’ve never had a female Biggest Loser before, she’s shaping up for the position quite well!
Shannon says they’re coming into the Final Week now so they’ve got to pull out all the stops!
Tomorrow night… David or Daina? Which of the two is the bigger threat?
Plus… APPLES! SO MANY APPLES! Apples being piled into cars. For some reason. It probably makes sense to someone…
