TBL 5×56: The Eliminated Contestants Cometh!
Previously on The Biggest Loser… Phoebe got sent home, awwww!
Tonight… all the eliminated contestants return. And will be trained by Michelle for a final time before the 42km marathon!
The three remaining contestants head out to the parade ground to find Hayley and a bunch of flags festooning the house and they’re all excited about what could be happening today.
Hayley says they’ve all done well to get so far and they all feel like they’ve done well to get so far and how great is it to get so far and be so close to the end and the Finale and so on?
Yeah, it’s not very exciting so far. Hayley reminds them of Phil and Joe training in the Outback.
But there’s also another way to get back into the game – be the first eliminated male AND female across the finish line of the 42km marathon.
I was sure it was only one person before but now they’ve changed it to two? Ooooh!
The marathon is almost upon them, Hayley says. Which means the eliminated contestants will soon be back.
Except not.
Because they’re already here and have already moved back into the House. YOUR HOUSE.
Then a banner drops down from the guttering and it’s Allan’s blobby old picture.
Then Allan steps up behind his poster.
Then Romi’s poster, then Jenni’s poster, Elise, Teneale, all are back up!
Then Rick and Phoebe and Wayne and Daina are staring down on the three remaining contestants. And Jarna and Caitlin.
There’s eleven of them, all up. Caitlin says she hopes the three remaining contestants are scared because they should be and the eliminated people deserve to be back there.
Uhh, yeah, not really Caitlin. You got eliminated, suck it up!
Time for a closer look. Come on down, guys!
Wayne thinks the Final Three look a little bit intimidated. Still got an active imagination I see!
Hayley says these guys are back for their chance to get into the game via the toughest race on the planet – the marathon.
Romi thinks there’s some who’ve come back with a point to prove. Presumably her and her husband’s point will be covered in the fat they’ve seemingly not lost. Hrm.
Hayley wishes them all the best of luck. Time to get back into the house and back in the swing of things.
Back inside, Jarna says it’s good to see them all, in a weird sort of way. It’s a bit awkward, Daina says.
Phoebe says to us that there’s tension, but that’s to be expected, since they all got kicked out and there’s three people left who’ve done really well and look fantastic.
Elise says it’s disappointing to see David with the Nothing bracelet. Jarna’s doing cartwheels on the inside at Lisa having the Double bracelet.
Jarna’s really happy for her since Lisa’s played the game with integrity and hasn’t had to hurt anyone. She’s played a clean game and good things come to good people!
Daina’s been doing the marathon training and sticking to the schedule.
Phoebe says to us that Daina thinks she’s got the marathon wrapped up but Jarna and her have a race plan and will be a force to contend with.
Um, yeah. Pretty sure piggybacks won’t be allowed!
After the eliminated people leave the lounge to settle into their rooms Shannon says it was quite awkward and David agrees. Lisa’s mostly sitting there looking quite bemused by the whole thing!
Michelle and Shannan rock up to Camp and as soon as they come in Shannan can tell something is up.
And yup, something’s up!
The eliminated contestants were hiding in the kitchen and then they all come piling out to greet the trainers.
Michelle says she’s amazed at how small they all look and even more importantly, how healthy they look.
But Shannan and Michelle want to hear the numbers they’ve lost!
Jenni’s looking good, they say. She’s lost a touch over 38kg. She’s lost more on the outside, apparently.
Rick’s lost 65kg in total, he’s lost another 4-5kg on the outside.
Caitlin’s only lost 8kg on the outside but she really looks like she’s lost more.
Then they get to Phoebe, who’s lost 38kg since starting. And how much on the outside? Oh, about 100 grams! And she’s been working really hard for that!
Teneale? Elise? One has lost 63.something and about 33 kilos? That doesn’t sound right. I think she means she weighs 63.something?
Shannan hands out particular praise to Elise and Teneale for doing so well on the outside.
Shannan says the marathon is just around the corner – anyone backing themselves?
Daina is! She says she’s put the work in and she needs to back herself to do it.
Michelle says that she’s seen the best of the best fall a kilometre from the finish line. Anything can happen.
Phoebe thinks Daina is underestimating the other females on the couch. I think it’s more that she’s got the confidence she’ll do well. And simply finishing may be enough to win it…
But now it’s time to get changed and have a training session!
Michelle’s got them all in the big gym. It’s been quite a while for most of them. Though for Phoebe, it seems like she never really left.
Phoebe’s enjoying it because she gets a chance to see who’s really put in the hard work on the outside and thus competition for her.
There’s a huge circuit Michelle’s set up. Lots and lots of different exercises.
Daina and Jarna are both going head to head in the sprints so Michelle gets them up on the treadmills. Michelle thinks they’re going to be big competitors.
Jarna tells us she doesn’t want to show Daina just how strong she is, she wants Daina to underestimate her.
Watching them on the treadmill, Daina looks really comfortable but Jarna looks a little wobbly. But is it an act?
They shake hands and say may the best woman win and so on.
Teneale’s got a real spring in her step during training. She’s obviously done really well on the outside.
Then Michelle pulls Rick and Wayne aside onto the treadmills for a head to head, too.
20km/hr. Wayne’s feeling it a bit, Michelle says, but Rick looks completely relaxed. Michelle thinks if Rick gets his mind in the game he can give Wayne a real run for his money.
Rick says if the treadmill could go any quicker he would have kept turning it up until Wayne fell off.
Rick’s quite confident he can beat Wayne but we’ll see!
Michelle’s still flogging them all. Some are looking a little worse for wear. Elise is really happy to be keeping up with everyone.
The last bit of the session is some towel pulling across the gym.
Caitlin says Michelle was only asking for 50% out of her but Caitlin decides to give 100% and eventually pulls Michelle over onto her to much laughter all round!
In one of the smaller gyms, Shannan – with a still slightly scratchy voice – has the remaining three contestants.
Shannon felt some of the other contestants were a little cocky but they’re going to be in for a surprise. He’s not going to be a pushover, he’s been an underdog the whole way and he’s come through strong!
Lots of spinbiking and crosstraining and boxing training, as always with a Shannan session.
Lisa says she doesn’t usually think too much about all the stuff going on around them, she just trains, but today she’s feeling a little annoyed and getting to do some boxing was just what she needed to relieve the stress.
Shannon reckons this session is the most fired up any of them have been. The further they get into the session the more frenetic the pace becomes.
Shannan says that boxing is the ultimate display of strength, courage, power and self belief. They’re attributes the contestants need to embrace at this stage of the competition.
Everyone’s determined to give absolutely everything to stay in the game, David says.
Last twenty seconds, go nuts!
Lots of boxing and weights and craziness ensues!
Shannan tells them all to play the game with respect and integrity and you’ve got it covered. Right? Right!
Tomorrow night… the marathon begins. Hoo boy!
Which two will get back into the competition?
… also, Phil and Joe do their marathon. In the motherfucking DESERT.
Though they’re doing it at night so it’ll be quite cool. Still. That’s pretty hardcore!
