TBL 5×51: Desert Rats Revealed!
Previously on The Biggest Loser, a weigh-in with no Elimination to follow.
But David had to hand off the Double Bracelet and take the Nothing bracelet instead. Now Lisa’s got the Double Bracelet instead!
Tonight, lots of training and David gets a flogging from Michelle.
Plus a DVD care package from The Commando, featuring footage of Phil and Joe’s training in the Northern Territory.
Be interesting to see the reactions to that!
Phoebe enters one of the dining rooms and finds a letter, which she says is always “bad juju”!
It’s a letter for the contestants AND the trainers. So they have to wait for the trainers to arrive.
Shannan has his voice back!
… kinda. He’s still quite croaky, poor chap.
The contestants have decided to play a trick on Shannan today by having Phoebe hide behind the couch when the trainers come in to psych out Shannan. Mean!
Michelle says she’s been “got” by that so many times, but it still gets her every time!
The contestants then tell the trainers there was no elimination and Phoebe’s back on the couch now.
They relay the results and Michelle is stunned. Shannan congratulates Lisa on her loss though. At her weight her loss wasn’t too bad.
Then it’s time for David to say his loss… only it was a gain!
Michelle has no idea how he could possibly have gained 100 grams.
And the penalty for losing was that he now has the Nothing bracelet. “Ohh noooooooooo…” says Michelle.
And because he’s put on weight this week he can’t have Immunity this week.
Lisa then says she couldn’t’ve given the Double to Phoebe or Shannon because she didn’t want to put the target on their back.
Michelle asks her if the $400,000 didn’t enter into it at all? I don’t think she believes Lisa either!
Lisa says $400,000 is interesting if she’s there for the end but she’s got a bigger target on her back now instead.
Any other news? Well, just one thing. Phoebe pulls out the letter.
Michelle says she was joking!
They read that it’s for the contestants and trainers. Shannan hopes it’s not Train the Trainer day. Surely they couldn’t expect him to train today!
To contestants and trainers, go to the weigh-in room, something you need to see is in there.
Michelle says she’s excited now. This is like, “DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!” Though she says it in a happy tone.
Hayley reminds them they’re not the only ones left in the competition. But right now they know nothing of Phil and Joe’s whereabouts.
So Hayley has something to show them.
Lots of red sand being whipped by the wind…
Ad break!
After the break Hayley says again that they know nothing of Phil and Joe’s whereabouts…
Okay, now we see Steve and the two lads walking down a road in the middle of the desert. From back when they first got there. You can tell as both men still have hair!
They’re all surprised to see the guys are in the desert rather than on an island or something.
Shannon says he’s had one taste of The Commando (uhhh…) so he can’t imagine what those guys have been through.
Phoebe says she’s not keeping up with that, Joe looks fantastic!
Lots of footage of the lads doing their training and talk of how awesomely strong they are now.
Michelle’s obviously dubious. She knows her peeps have been training hard!
And then it’s all over already.
For the past three weeks Phil and Joe have been trained by The Commando. If the remaining contestants hope to hold their place they’ve got no time to waste!
Michelle’s got plenty of confidence in her contestants. She knows they’ve got too much fight in them to just roll over and give up. She knows it’s going to be a good fight but bring it on!
Everyone heads back to the lounge room to have a chat about what they’ve just seen.
Phoebe says Joe’s looking pretty “smick” and that’s a little intimidating. Not enough to make her give up, just enough to sit up and take notice!
Shannon puts it differently, saying all the work Joe’s been doing has been to beat Phil and get back into the game. But then he’ll have to work harder to beat Shannon!
Training time.
Shannan’s got the girls today. Lisa’s got a “moon boot” on her left leg. Apparently she tore her achilles a while back and now she’s got to wear the boot for every waking hour. Damn!
Shannan asks Phoebe if she thinks it matters if they do the training in the desert or in The Yard back here at Camp.
Shannan wants them to realise it’s no different, it’s all training.
Phoebe’s impressed by Shannan still showing up for training and trying to shout at them in his raspy voice.
Shannan tells her not to be intimidated by people who look tough, toughness comes from inside.
Lisa’s got a sledgehammer for her training. Smashing a truck tire instead of the dirt the boys in the desert had been smashing up.
Lisa says it was very good stress relief!
Then it’s time for some boxing training. Lisa’s quite happy to be getting a good workout in, even with the boot on. The boot’s not going to hold her back and now she’s got the bracelet on she’s going to strive even harder to be the winner. She says it makes her stronger, not a target.
Shannan’s training Phoebe with some boxing next. He asks her if it’s hurting and Phoebe says yes, does she want to give up? No!
Phoebe’s turning into quite the little boxer. Shannan’s got her turned around in her mindset, no longer intimidated by the boys. She’s doing tougher things, she threw herself off a building last week!
Michelle’s got the boys for training today. She doesn’t want them worried about the Desert Rats either. They seem less concerned, particularly Shannon who’s just powering through the session as usual.
David’s struggling though. Obviously it’s a bit of a mental struggle after having gained weight and the Nothing bracelet. Michelle tells him he’s got to prove he wants to fight for his position, not just talk the talk!
David says he doesn’t feel rattled about the bracelet really, just worried about having put weight on at the scale. He’s trying to turn the negatives into positives which is what New Zealand had been about.
He doesn’t want to lose his spot to someone who’s been eliminated before or has been off working with The Commando.
Michelle’s using that as a prod, now. They’ve got people coming back soon so they’ve got to work hard to keep their spots.
Shannon tells us that The Commando said his boys would come back and smash them. Shannon says they can try but he’s doing everything he can to make sure it doesn’t happen!
Tomorrow night. Dancing! With famous dance guy Jason Coleman.
Also, some kind of challenge thingy with ratcheting doohickies raising flags and stuff. It’s all a bit odd!
