TBL 5×33: Pole Dancing Challenge!

Previously on The Biggest Loser Jarna was eliminated and nobody at home really cared all that much. Nor did anyone in Camp really care that much, except Lisa.

Tonight there’ll be oodles of prep work in the form of intense exercise for the upcoming 21km half marathon.
Also, a mini-challenge. Balance on top of some poles over a pool or something. Okay? Okay!

As Michelle and Shannan jog up to Camp Michelle reveals that the half marathon is only a day away!

As Shannan’s contestants file into one of the smaller gyms there’s a bunch of signs hanging from the wall with inspirational words like Pride, Health, Family, Determination, etc.
Lisa’s latched on to the Mum sign.
David’s picked Family.
They’re the important things to them and so on.

Caitlin’s also picked Mum because… yes, her Mum passed away. She’s still dead, Caitlin’s still talking about it. Geez!
Caitlin says she can do 21km with no regrets to Shannan. Well, Shannan asked and she said yes. Then yes when Shannan asked again and again.

Part of the training session is to have one contestant count out the spins on the spin bikes while the others try and keep pace. Lots of sweat pouring off everyone.
Shannan says no one quits, no one slacks off, etc.

Shannon says they were all inspired by the words up there today.
Shannan says the words will inspire them for the rest of their lives but most importantly in the 21km race tomorrow!
No idea how they’re going to manage 21km after that workout. Rest up little fat people!

Michelle has a surpriiiiiiiise for Rick! He’s been thinking a lot lately about his girlfriend and how totally pregnant he made her.
He’s been a lot better of late and Michelle has one more thing that she thinks will help him a lot.
It’s pictures of his baby while it’s still in his girlfriend’s belly. Cool!
Michelle says the longer he stays there the better the future he can offer his kids.

And now it’s time to get out of Camp Biggest Loser again. And they arrive at a swimming pool. With totally gay poles set up as a makeshift bridge across the pool.
What? They’re rainbow poles. And rainbows are gay! The gays totally claimed rainbows. It’s why nobody likes them.

Apparently they all have to go stand on the poles and stay there longer than anyone else.
The longer they stay standing on the platform, the harder it gets. Poles will drop off one at a time until only one red pole remains.

David says that one thing he knows from his years of martial arts training (?!) it’s that it helps to have a low centre of gravity. And he doesn’t have one of those.

The prize for whoever stands on the platform longest? Immunity from elimination.

Everyone’s having fun to begin with. Rick starts wobbling the platform after the first pole falls off.
Joe joins in too. So there’s a couple of them playing silly buggers.

Then Joe says to David that if Joe goes down he’ll grab David, David can grab “Burkey” (Shannon) and Shannon can grab Rick. If Joe goes he’s not going by himself!

Rick’s still rocking the beams and Phil starts to lean backwards a little and then he’s gone. He starts to grab at Phoebe but Phoebe’s all, “Nooo, don’t grab me Phil!” And Phil eventually falls back and into the water by himself, awww!

And after another ad break Rick’s still rocking the platform and Lisa giggles and shoves him backwards but Rick manages to grab Lisa on the way down so they both go down!
Joe says it’s reaction to grab someone when you’re falling so if he grabs David, it’s just reaction. And he’d understand the reaction to grab Bourkey. Shannon starts to fall a little bit and tries to grab at David but he manages to stay upright.
Caitlin’s chanting “Drop the pole drop the pole drop the pole!” Phoebe’s telling her to shut up!
Caitlin’s got in on the wobbling now too. And that’s a lot of weight to be wobbling the platform with!

Shannon’s struggling for a moment but regains his composure. And he’s still talking away. Phoebe tells him to shut up too, or she’ll come over there and hit him. So Shannon says to do it, just push Caitlin out of the way and come over there. Phoebe says as if Caitlin won’t drag her down too! Shannon says he can’t control that.

Joe says the next one to drop will make it really hard and Shannon says oh yeah, it’s a real walk in the park now!
They’re on 3 poles at the moment. And as we go to ad break Joe says, “If I can get you off before that I won’t have to pull you off.”

Joe, Shannon, Caitlin and Phoebe are all that are left and they’ve been up there for well over an hour now. They really should remove another pole!
Rick suggests they hurry things along a bit and Shannon says, “Sorry mate, are you still up here? No. Shutup!”

And finally Shannon falls off too. Caitlin staggers along the poles towards Joe but doesn’t try to pull him down? Awww!
Joe follows very shortly afterwards anyway though. And Phoebe emerges victorious! So she’s super happy to be staying for another week and does a goofy little dance on top of the platform before also jumping off.

Apparently there’s more riding on the marathon than the contestants realise. Ooooooooh!
Time to go get a good night’s sleep and Hayley will see them tomorrow morning!

Tomorrow night the 21km half marathon. Looks like quite a few people will be breaking down and crying and running a lot and crying and running some more and breaking down and crying and running and…
