TBL 5×22: Biggest Loser Rewardsfest Day
Previously on The Biggest Loser the couples were all theoretically split into singles but everyone is still working as couples because it’s not like you can suddenly throw out friendship or family!
Tonight Shannan’s got to find the warrior’s within his training team as they’re the lowest of the low, for the most part.
But we all know Shannan loves his underdogs…
Michelle turns up to see all her people with scratches and bandages. One of the boys knees has a dozen small to medium cuts all over it.
They explain that it all came from the immunity challenge. Apparently Phil’s pants got so full of mud that they actually fell down and he struggled to get them back up.
But Michelle is pleased for Phil coming out on top, though she doesn’t think he’ll need it.
Shannan’s team is looking much the same. Lisa says she was “apparently” okay to take part for the first minute or three but she hurt her back overcompensating for her hamstring.
So she was first out.
Followed by Chris. Chris explains how he decided he’d show a bit of the mongrel in him. Shannan actually congratulates him for having a bit of a go, something he’d not seen Chris do before.
Shannan’s team is doing some boxing training today. He loves the boxing training and he wants to share that passion with his team.
He reminds them all that they can get through this, that’s what guts and determination are about.
Shannon says Shannan’s been making them all aware of their positions on the leaderboard and particularly of the fact that 4 of them are way down the list. So this week will be about making sure they move up the list and push Michelle’s team down the list.
Shannan thinks Jarna has been good in training so far but good isn’t going to cut it anymore, she needs to be exceptional. She’s at the bottom of the leaderboard and that just won’t do.
Shannon felt terrible about not getting to compete in the challenge. So he’s not exhausted today in training, so he’s got some ground to make up.
Shannan says when he first met Shannon he’d quit at the drop of the hat. He didn’t have the fortitude inside him. If he quit, that was okay, as long as he’d had a go.
But today Shannan wants to push Shannon to the boundaries.
“Milk the cow.” Errr…
Shannon’s punching away at the mitts on Shannan’s hands. Left arm only. Bit odd.
Shannan says there’s no quit in him now. Shannon’s even saying he’ll do more of whatever exercise Shannan sets for him. Shannan says 10 of something and Shannon’ll say nah, 20!
Afterwards everyone files out to the front yard to meet Hayley. It’s that time of week for someone to get a family visit again. Will Phil get his reward or will he be passing it on to someone else as Wayne passed it to him last week?
Phil has decided not to accept his prize. Why? Because he’s passing it on to someone else, of course.
Who? The answer is heading their way. Extraordinarily slowly, no doubt.
It’s Joe’s slightly chubby girlfriend. Hooray.
His girlfriend, Lucy, can’t believe he’s lost 38kg and she says he looks younger. Hayley laughs and says, “Younger than 20?!”
But Phil’s generosity won’t go unrewarded. Last week his family came to visit him, this week they’ve arranged something that is probably the next best thing?
After another interminable ad break, Hazem El-Masri comes strolling up the stairs. Phil describes him as the greatest ever Bulldog.
Phil’s… excited. He runs over and gives Hazem a hug.
Phil’s a mad Bulldogs supporter, Daina says. He has a bunch of memoribilia… and a bunch of Bulldog’s tattoos.
Mental. Who gets their footy team tattooed on their body? Mental people, that’s who!
Joe and Lucy go for a walk along some walkway thing. Joe says he never used to walk hand in hand with his girlfriend, unless it was dark, because he was so embarassed. But now he’s proud of how far he’s come and how far he’s going.
Joe says Lucy was shocked at his choice in meals. He used to eat battered fish or steak and chips, but he skipped straight past all that and looked at grilled fish and salad or grilled chicken and salad and eventually went with just a plain salad and he was totally happy with that meal.
Joe is hoping to marry Lucy one day and he doesn’t want to be 180kg and struggling down the aisle. He wants to be around 95kg, slim, taut and terrific!
He says to Lucy that he wants to get to under 100kg and that’s where he wants to be. She seems a little uncertain about the whole getting-married-thing. Oh dear!
Hazem and Phil have a chat about how the show’s been going. Hazem says the younger people keep you on your toes. And Hazem pegs him as a big chance at winning.
Phil’s really happy to hear Hazem say it as he’s been following Hazem since the start of his career.
Then it’s time for some footy tomfoolery!
Phil’s got a hat from Hazem… and a Bulldogs jersey. A signed jersey. Very nice!
Hazem says that Phil’s definitely among the top two or three Bulldogs fans he’s ever met. And you can be sure he’s met a lot of them!
Phil is boggling at getting to play footy with Hazem for a bit. Then he gets to see Hazem kick up close and he says it looks so easy for him.
Then he gets a personal lesson in goalkicking from Hazem! :-o
Hazem says he hopes Phil goes all the way, he’s a bubbly person with a great personality. Doesn’t just hope he wins for himself but for all the Bulldogs supporters, too!
Tomorrow night, “They say everyone has their price…”
A substantial amount of money is going to be on offer. But it comes with a catch – if you take the money you’re gone for good with no way of getting back in the game.
It looks to be a very, very large sum of money that could be offered so it’ll be interesting.
Not that there’s supposed to be any twists this season…
