TBL 5×16: Wayne’s Wayward Weward

Previously on The Biggest Loser Michelle’s team burnt their old fat people clothes.

At Temptation Caitlin and Daina won TEH ULTIMATE POWAH… after Wayne tried to beat them for some still unfathomable reason.

Tonight there’s five couples training with Shannan and just Caitlin and Daina training with Michelle… while slowly falling apart as a team, says Mr Voiceover Man.
Also someone’s getting that family visit reward thing. Yawn.

Everyone heads out to the parade ground where Hayley’s waiting for them. Wayne was The Biggest Loser of the last week so everyone’s expecting his family to come back again.
Two weeks in a row? Really? You’re not thinking maybe someone else will get the reward instead? Hmmm.

Hayley reminds them that Wayne was The Biggest Loser but he won’t be getting the reward this week. Because he’s made the decision to pass it on to someone else. Someone really special.
So who will it be?

Well they can’t just tell us, of course. Got to make us sit around listening to the fatties whine about not seeing their families while we wait to see who comes up the stairs.

After an ad break. Of course. Just get it over with!

Up the stairs comes Maverick and Memphis, Phil’s very unfortunately named children. Phil’s 44 so there’s really no excuse for such stupid names.
He’s thrilled to see his kids, of course.

But he’s also hoping to see his wife, of course. So she comes up the stairs.
Phil suggests they go get her from where everyone else is standing so the trot off over the yard. Well, Memphis and Phil trot straight to her, Maverick runs like all young kids run – all over the damn place!

Phil’s been away from his wife for a few days before but only away from his kids for one night, so it’s a big deal for him to see them again.
Phil tells Wayne that he’s a top bloke and thanks him for passing on the reward to him.

Shannan and Michelle turn up expecting big things… but not quite as big as they get. Michelle only has two people in her training group and Shannan suddenly has 10!
Caitlin tells Michelle what ended up happening at Temptation yesterday. Stuff we’ve already heard, basically.
Michelle is surprised that the girls chose themselves to be the one couple since they’re going to be going up against big strong boys and whatnot. She tells them they’re going to have to go ballistic this week. She’s not sure it was the smartest move but she’s their trainer and she’ll do as much as she possibly can.

Michelle tells the girls to get straight up on the bikes and she’s going to give them a taste of how hard the training will have to be if they want to win this week.
Michelle has some concerns about the girls and there’s some things they need to get out so they can work together as a united front.

Daina says they’ve been fed up with each other this week. Apparently Daina has been calling Caitlin lazy and Caitlin said she wanted to go home and it was only because Daina keeps having a go at her.
Caitlin didn’t train that morning, she woke up and felt sick, and that was reason enough to not train apparently.
First thing Daina said this morning was, “What’s your problem?” Michelle asks her if that was because she hadn’t trained and then says that she’d probably say the same thing!

Daina tells us that her and Caitlin haven’t been getting along too well, lots of arguments, Daina doesn’t feel like Caitlin’s been committed to losing the weight and Daina’s getting fed up with it.
Caitlin says to Michelle that Daina expects her to do everything she does but Daina’s 88kg and Caitlin’s 150kg… Daina says she doesn’t expect anything other than for her to get up in the morning and train!

Michelle tells Caitlin she’s got to stop being a victim and she needs to find her fighter. Take responsibility for herself and stop being a victim. Find your inner warrior! She’s seen that in Daina but has yet to find it in Caitlin.

Michelle’s not letting them get much rest today. Bikes, boxing, circuit work. Timed runs of a circuit. One of the things she’s got Caitlin doing is jump up and down on a step. First run through, 3 minutes. Second run? Two minutes!
Michelle says it shows what she can do when she puts her mind to it.
Caitlin has never fought for anything in her life but knowing they have to pull big numbers this week she’s ready to suck up the pain.
And Daina’s pleased by Caitlin’s efforts today. And Caitlin looks completely exhausted. Daina still has a grin on her face though!

At the end of the training session the girls call a truce and they need to be united as a team.
Michelle thinks they’re in with a chance because she likes an underdog and likes a challenge.

Shannan’s got his team doing a big cardio session today. Even the people with injuries have special exercises set up to get their heart rates up.
Jarna says she knows Shannan and Michelle are super competitive with each other and she knows Michelle will be getting a lot out of the girls.

Joe and Wayne are loving having extra boys in the training group, lots of playful pushing and shoving while they run laps of the gym.
Shannan says they’ve all got something to prove today, even him. He wants to show the newcomers his philosophy and training regimes. Shannan’s confident by the end of the training session that he can get his people through.

Now we get to see Phil showing his wife and kids around Camp Biggest Loser. He points out Meaghan on the wall for his wife. I guess they were fans of her, too?
Phil explains all the superstar peoples they’ve had to train them. He’s starting to explain who Matt Shirvington is but his wife knows. Oh yes, she knows.
After they head out from Camp they go out for dinner. Phil really enjoys the chance to spend some time with them.
Then they go to some hotel room to read a bedtime story to the kids.

THE CAT IN THE HAT! Memphis loves Cat in the Hat, Maverick seems mostly bemused by the whole thing.

Phil then has to say goodbye to his wife. Awww! She says it’s all worth the sacrifices seeing how he’s looking now.
Phil says that his wife can see how much he’s gotten out of the experience and how much more he’ll get in the weeks to come.
As Phil is driven away he waves out the window and says “Seeya Chucky Doll”? Errr, okay?

Tomorrow night can Caitlin handle the pressure?
I’m going to go with no, based on Caitlin flopping off the treadmill and crying, much to Michelle’s displeasure.

The sisters will also be taking on the other couples in a challenge for a “priceless advantage” at the weigh-in.
Yup, no twists, no turns this year…
