TBL Australia 4×67: Wildcard Weigh-in and Weekly Weigh-in, whoa!

Previously on The Biggest Loser, Sharif and Jodi got White Shirts signifying their acceptance into the Sacred Order of Second Chances.
Friday night also saw the beginning of an eliminated contestants super challenge and when we left them… um, Stewart was in the lead, followed by Sean and then everyone else trundling along behind.

Tonight, we find out which of the two will be moving forward to the wildcard weigh-in.
Also tonight, the wildcard weigh-in!
And a regular weigh-in for the proper Final Four.

But back on Cockatoo Island, everything’s gone black and white during the recap. I wish they’d just put a little “previously” underneath it and leave it in colour. It’s the 21st century man! Live in the now!

As we pick up the action again Sean has already run past Stewart and is back in the lead.

Teresa’s in third place and as she goes to smash her bottle and retrieve her phone it falls apart in her hands. Good stuff!

Sean’s remembering, while paddling out to the yacht, the last time he was paddling a rowboat – way back on Fitzroy Island, when him and Ben struggled quite a lot.

Andrew finally gets to the bags of wheat and picks up two in each hand. That’s 40kg in each hand. Impressive!
Ramses gets there last of all, of course.

Meaghan overtakes Teresa, saying “At least we’ve got Andrew!”

Andrew’s made up another position in the meantime, but is still trailing Meaghan and Teresa. He’s got to catch up in the running and rowing legs.
Jeda apparently has a fear of swimming in water where she can’t see the bottom.

Sean’s rowing and rowing and can’t see the yacht, until he turns around at one point and there it is!
He gets there first, quite easily. No sign of the others yet.

Meaghan’s getting pointers from Teresa on rowing. Bit weird.
Andrew’s only about 50m behind them on getting into his boat. Jeda’s some distance behind.
Ramses is on his haunches on the slipway. He’s looking like he’s given up but he gets back up and trundles towards the boats.

And in an annoying anti-climax, Stewart gets to the yacht second. No sign of the girls who’re in third and fourth.

They turn up some time later, with Andrew… but it’s too late, only two people get white shirts!

Meaghan and Andrew are both disappointed not to make it back into the game but they’re going to keep at it on the outside. Andrew says the man we’ll see at finale will be one who’s taking care of himself.

Stewart thinks the others will be happy to see Sean back but not so happy to see him back. He’s there to win the money, he says.

In the lounge room Tiffany asks the group of black shirts and two white shirts who they don’t want to see come back.
Sharif is very upfront about not wanting to see Stewart come back because he’s always talking about the money now. He’s not got the point of the journey, Sharif thinks.

Sharif is nervous because he’s hoping to see Sean. But also nervous because he doesn’t want to see Stewart.
Julie confirms that everyone had agreed that they didn’t want to see Stewart back.
Tiffany goes one further and says she hopes no one comes back through the door!

They go out and answer the knock at the door and find Sean and Stewart, of course.
Sharif notices Sean first and is pleased but then sees Stewart to Sean’s right and his heart sinks.
Julie’s really happy to see Sean back but Stewart was about the last person she wanted to see.

Meanwhile on Commando Steve’s Island Getaway… what the hell is he doing? Lugging 40 gallon drums around the bush?
Oh, okay, they’re going to be part of today’s workout!

Today they’re going to be competing against each other. Man against man!
First they have to carry two drums each down to the beach. Steve doesn’t care how they get them down there, just do it!

Nathan says a few days ago his head wasn’t in the right place, he wasn’t sure he could beat Bob. But he’s had a head change and now he’s sure he can beat Bob and he’ll do it!

They finally get the drums down to the beach. Bob thinks it might be done, but no! The Commando has a jerry can for each of them.
But the jerry has seen better days – each has a number of holes in the bottom.
They need to go fill the can in the ocean then head back up the beach to pour whatever water is left in their can into their drum. First one to get their drum full, wins! And the loser gets punished.

Bob’s pretty buggered before they start, Nathan says. But Nathan’s firing on all six cylinders.
Nathan says there’s an element of frustration to it as you can hear the water rushing out of the can as you run back up the beach each time. Carrying a jerry full of water is hard enough, but with holes in it? “This man’s insane!”

Nathan gets his drum filled before Bob. “Congratulations Bob, you’ve just been dominated!” says Nathan.

Bob’s punishment is to do 50 pushups on the beach while Commando Steve and Nathan head back.

But just as Bob’s finishing his pushups, Commando comes back. With a brown paper package, tied up with string. Maybe it contains a few of his favourite things?
Steve’s got kind words for Bob, saying that Bob’s always trying his best.

So Steve is giving him something that will hopefully keep him motivated.

Bob heads down the beach to find a log to sit on. He’s a little worried the box might explode!
Inside the box is another mobile phone type thing, displaying a picture of Tiffany. But it’s not just a picture, it’s a talky picture. He presses a button and Tiffany says hi and starts talking about how proud she is of him. Tiffany is also very pleased to tell him she’s got the Biggest Loser title for a week so her name is up on the board with Bob’s!
Bob doesn’t want to let any of them down so he knows he’s got to give the end of the race 100%.

Back at Fat Camp everyone is filing in for the weigh-in.

Sam says that she won’t be letting Stewart get close to her because he’s announced his intention of getting the $400,000.

Ajay says the wildcard weigh-in will result in two of the white shirts getting back into the game.
Then she recaps how they all made it back into the game.
You really do only need to see Sunday and Monday eps. The rest get recapped ad nauseum!

For the wildcard weigh-in there’s a Yellow Line. The two below the Yellow Line will go home immediately.
The two who get back in will then go into the “official” weigh-in with the existing Final Four. Going head to head with them… which has a distinct whiff of unfairness but we’ll see where she’s going with this.

Jodi gets to go up first.
Current weight: 90.5kg
Loss: 4.1kg
Percentage: 4.33%

Not bad for a “week” but given how long she’s been away it probably should have been more.
She made a big sacrifice to come back for the second chance – she’s missing her son’s first birthday.
Whilst that’s terrible of her… it’s not like her son is going to remember. And with the weight she’s lost, maybe now she can live to see his 21st!

Stewart’s turn second. He’s also been out for quite some time so this ought to be a good number.
Current weight: 91.6kg
Loss: 8.5kg
Percentage: 8.49%

He doesn’t seem very surprised but then he says that he is surprised. Hmm.
Stewart then says he didn’t hear any applause from anyone in the room which he chalks up to bad sportsmanship but which I’d chalk up to everyone thinking he’s a twat.
That’s effectively a “Week 1” loss for him again so it’s not really that surprising.

Sean’s turn now.
Current weight: 89kg
Loss: 0.6kg
Percentage: 0.67%

Not very surprising given that Sean has essentially not even been out of the game as such and he’s already basically down to a healthy weight. He can still stand to increase his fitness but 89kg is not an issue if you’re eating right and staying physically active.
Sean’s a bit upset though, thinking he’s let some people down. Julie says he hasn’t let anyone down, Ajay asks who he thinks he’s let down and Sean says he’s let himself down.
But it’s a loss! Sean is trying to be happy about that.
Ajay reminds him of another number – 43.5kg. His total weight loss so far. Very nice.
Ajay tells him he hasn’t let himself down. Sean says just this week he has.
Ajay also says he’s probably one of the fittest people to ever get through the show.

But regardless, he’s going home. He’s already below the Yellow Line and thus has no chance of ending above it.

Sammy says that, while Sean is proud of himself, he’s not cocky, and he’s always gotten along really well with everyone.

Sharif will need 5.6kg to be above Jodi and thus above the Yellow Line.
Current Weight: 117.7kg
Loss: 11.4kg
Percentage: 8.83%

“BULLSHIT!” Sharif’s first reaction. He has to check on the big TV, twice, and on the scales themselves. Then he does a little happy dance.
Ajay asks him if he’s really speechless for the first time ever?! Sharif says yes and Ajay laughs.
Sharif’s total is now up to 60.6kg. Incredible.
Sharif tells us he’s lost what his wife weighs, plus a bag of potatoes. He’s lost an entire adult in weight!

Jodi and Sean finish below the Yellow Line. So sadly, Sean will be going home.
But happily, Jodi will be going home!

Jodi says she’s glad she came back, she’s glad she got the chance to show everyone she does mean business. And at the finale we’re going to see an “even more beautiful woman”.
Erm. Okay.

Sean never thought he’d get so close to 85kg on the show itself. He’s aiming for the 70kg range by finale, now!

Sharif and Stewart can now claim their black shirts.
Sammy doesn’t look too happy about that!
Ajay says they’re a chance at the $400,000. But it’s hard to see either of them getting the Double bracelet, other than random result of The Walk or something…

And now it’s time for the Official Weigh-in.
And Sharif and Stewart’s weightloss for the week will be counted on the leaderboard, meaning Sharif is currently the Biggest Loser for the week.

Which is fucking absurd, frankly. Both results were clearly boosted due to the inevitable slides in intensity that happen once people leave the house. They could even have been the result of water loading prior to last week’s weigh-in.
The chances of any of the original Final Four beating even Stewart’s percentage are miniscule. It’s essentially impossible, particularly with three of the remainders being women, and they’re all relatively light women now.

Julie’s fed to the lions first.
Current weight: 87kg
Loss: 2.9kg
Percentage: 3.23%

She’s quite pleased by that, as well she should be. 3.23% is not too shabby at all at this stage of the game, particularly for an 80s club 52 year old!
Julie says that Sharif and Stewart are big hurdles, but big numbers this week might mean small numbers next week!

Next up is Sammy.
Current weight: 80.4kg
Loss: 3.4kg
Percentage: 4.06%

“Next week, 70s!” Also a good loss for this stage of the game and for such a relatively small girl!

Have I mentioned Ajay’s lovely silky black dress with shiny things around the collar yet? Because it’s lovely. And accents her boobs nicely!

Tiffany’s turn! She needs at least 3.2kg to beat Julie and Sammy and thus be safe.
Current weight: 71.3kg
Loss: 5.2kg
Percentage: 6.8%

I think she just muttered “Fuck!” into her hands. So far she’s lost 42.3kg. Very well done!
Tiffany says it’s disgusting she had that much weight to lose, but it feels great now that she has!

With that outstanding result Tiffany is… third. Which points out why it’s so ridiculous to have Sharif and Stewart in the weigh-in. Both did well but it was in no way a fair comparison.

Cameron is last up. He needs at least 5kg to stay above the Yellow Line.
But if he does so, he’ll push Sammy below the Line.
Ouch.

As Cam walks up he says to us that he’s hoping to lose a lot of weight to get closer to his goal… but he also doesn’t want to, so Sammy stays safe.
Current weight: 115.5kg
Loss: 6.4kg
Percentage: 5.25%

He’s obviously pleased by the result as it’s an excellent result… But also looks apologetically over at Sammy. Though Sammy is smiling and applauding.
Cam says they’ve been there for nearly three months and something was bound to happen one day.
But Sammy’s not out of the game yet!

So Sammy and Julie will be facing elimination tomorrow night!

Ajay then announces that Sharif is this week’s Biggest Loser. Whoopeeeeeeeeeee.
His 8.83% is also a record this year.
It’s not impressive when he’s been at home, Ajay!

Well, it’s impressive he’s losing weight. But it’s a fairly meaningless figure.

Tomorrow night… DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.
Sammy has the Double bracelet on her wrist, making her a more tempting target for votes. But will anyone choose to eliminate the funny fat girl?
