TBL Australia 4×61: Super Challenge Super Finish
Previously on The Biggest Loser it was time for the contestants to face their fears. Ooooh!
Tonight, the Super Challenge continues from Friday night with one contestant being doomed to going home if they lose.
Also, someone on Gilligan’s Island is going to have put on weight!
And we get a weigh-in with the remaining Fat Campers.
Packed full of goodness… right after Tiffany recaps Friday’s episode for us.
We left the contestants last week with many of them already in their kayaks or even already finished.
But Meaghan and Sammy are still trying to get through their tandem bungy jump. Meaghan keeps freaking out and Sammy keeps encouraging and soothing her.
Finally, Meaghan says she can’t do it. She realises she was wasting time and making Sam waste time which could put her in danger. And she says if her little freakout sends Sam home, she’d never forgive herself.
Back at the finish line… Julie’s arriving! In third place!
She tells us she calorie counts every day but the remaining options are fairly hard to choose between.
She’s figured the milk and the sandwich are above 400 calories, whilst the pringles potato chips and the spam might be below that.
Spam? Really? I don’t think so Julie.
She eventually settles on the pringles and moves off to wait for everyone else.
Meanwhile Cam’s still paddling along in 4th place… but not for long as he tips over and goes for a swim!
Luckily he gets to shore where one of the crew helps him back in. I guess they don’t want it to take all day. Filming in the dark is always so annoying!
When he gets back in the kayak he still can’t see the girls though!
After Meaghan pulls out she says she felt terrible and got unharnassed immediately.
But Sam’s getting the single harness on! She’s still a little scared and asks if it’ll hurt and they say no. Just put your arms up and lean forward!
Which she does and lets out a huge scream on the way down… stopping just in time to get dunked into the water… and then starting to screaming again on her way back up!
Sam says it was the most invigorating feeling of her entire life. Best feeling in the world!
Meaghan had stayed up top watching Sammy do her bungy jump but once she’s down safely she finally remembers the whole race thing! So she goes pelting off down the steps.
She knows Sam hit the kayaks well before Meaghan would get there and Meaghan knows that if Sam gets to the plates before Meaghan, Sam doesn’t know her calories very well and she’ll make a bad decision.
“I want to make the bad decision. I’m the one that mucked us around this much. I want to be the one that goes home if it comes down to it.”
Sam says she wants to wait for Meaghan. They’d stood up top together, felt good, felt scared, talked to each other. And shortly after she’s ready to go, there’s Meaghan!
Meaghan’s planning on paddling fairly quickly to try and keep just ahead of Sammy because she wants to make sure she gets the first choice. If Sam’s as coordinated as her Dad, that might not be too hard!
Cam arrives at the food choices. Spam’s got a ton of fat, he says. He thinks there’d be “thousands” or “tons” of calories in the full cream milk.
Eventually he chooses the ham, cheese and tomato sandwich. Julie thinks he’s made the wrong choice because ham can be fatty and cheese can be fatty.
SPAM IS A SOLID LUMP OF HAM-LIKE MATERIAL!
Meaghan and Sammy arrive last of all. Meaghan just ahead of Sammy. But they end up walking up the “100m race” arm in arm. Tiffany tries to see if they’re wet to see if they’d gone bungy or fallen in or something but no! They’re both quite dry by now.
They have a look at the two options left, together. A tin of Spam and half a litre of full cream milk.
Meaghan asks the rest of the group which one is worse because she wants to make sure she picks that one. But nobody knows what Spam has because it’s not a healthy option so they don’t need to know the calories in it!
Sammy thinks the milk is the higher calorie option and starts making for it but Meaghan grabs her and pulls her back telling her not to touch it!
They can’t work out which is worse so in the end Sammy suggests she’ll take the milk and Meaghan can take the Spam because people used to call her Spam and she doesn’t like it!
Great reasoning there girls!
Meaghan’s okay with that because she’s fairly sure the Spam is the highest.
Then Ajay materialises out of thin air to congratulate them all on finishing the race but especially Sean for finishing the race first!
Now it’s time to find out the calories, lowest to highest.
Tiffany’s blueberries had 71 calories. Well done Tiff!
Sean’s weet bix with skim milk had 194 calories.
Julie’s pringles are third with 232 calories. Nice choice!
This leaves Cam, Sam and Meaghan to go. Ouch.
285 calories in a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich. Cam’s safe too! Though he’s devastated as it means either Sam or Meaghan will be the one to go.
Meaghan’s nervous for all the wrong reasons she says. She wants to be the one that goes, if it’s Sam she’s not going to be happy.
Meaghan says Sam’s the best friend she’s got and she’s made a lot of changes in the last week and she really wants to be there, more than anything.
Cam’s getting a bit teary at the thought of Sam possibly leaving today. Julie pipes up and says they were both there to support their daughters, not to have them go before them, so she knows how Cam is feeling. She’s devastated.
The item with the highest amount of calories, a total of 616 calories…
Sam has an aside where she’s very teary, saying she was crying and so tired she could barely hold her plate… which conveniently gets us through to another ad break. THANKS SPAM.
After the ad break Ajay reveals the 616 calorie food is… SPAM! So Meaghan’s going home. :(
Sam instantly bursts into tears and hugs Meaghan. Meaghan’s getting teary too, as is Julie. Julie says it was her worst fear that Meaghan would go home like that.
Meaghan says to Ajay that she’s shattered. She tried to face her fear today and she couldn’t do the bungy jumping.
Sean helpfully tells us he couldn’t understand why she didn’t do the bungy jump and that now it’s cost her a spot in the game. I want to say “GENIUS” at him but frankly the producers shouldn’t’ve fucking bothered putting that bit in. We know the bungy jump hesitation cost her her spot in the game. We’re not morons!
Sammy’s milk was 315 calories. Quite a bit below the Spam!
But before Meaghan can go home she has to pass on the Nothing bracelet. Oooooh!
Julie and Sean both offer themselves up right up front. As did Cam.
Sam can’t have it as she’s the holder of the double bracelet at present.
Sean’s in tears and says he’s not there for the money so give it to him, so he wants it. He’s happy to take it.
Meaghan thinks Cam doesn’t need the money. Julie’s not an option because if she makes it to the end, Meaghan wants her to get some money. Sean’s an option but he has a family at home and they could really do with the money.
Meaghan finally decides to give it to Cam as he doesn’t need the money. Can’t put it on his wrist though because it’s locked closed. Nice work, jewellery people!
Cam says he was okay with it because Julie and Meaghan have been great for Sam’s journey on the show so he doesn’t mind it at all.
Now it’s time for Meaghan to say her goodbyes and go home. Big squishy hugs all round!
“You’ve been such a good friend to me!” “You’ve been a great friend to me. This journey would have been so hard without my girls!” Tiff and Meaghan.
Cam says thanks to Meaghan for making Sam’s journey perfect.
Meaghan tells Sam not to give up.
Meaghan says saying goodbye to everyone was hard but saying goodbye to her Mum was the hardest. Julie says to Meaghan that she has to say hello to everyone for her. Meaghan says Julie needs to keep fighting!
Then Meaghan gets to fly away in a heccylopper. Awesome!
Meaghan’s already thinking of finale, she’s going home to work her butt off and blow everyone away at the finale.
So, will this stop the haters from hating? Or are they just going to invent some more excuses to hate her?
Here’s some samples for you:
– She was lying and wasn’t going to pick the highest calorie option
– It was rigged and she was just doing what the producers told her to
– The producers offered her a bunch of money to do it
– She knew she’d actually be going to train with Bob and Nathan or Emazon and so she wanted to go “home”
I could probably go on but I need to go fashion a new tin foil hat. :-)
Ajay says the holiday is now officially over. It’s time to go back to Fat Camp, where the final weeks will unfold.
And an even bigger hurdle than today’s is on the way.
Meanwhile, on Gilligan’s Island, Bob and Nathan are lifting sandbag above their head then dumping it on the ground. Lifting sandbag above head, dumping it. And a whole bunch of other very reptitive exercises in a circuit!
At one point Bob runs into Nathan during their running, he’s that tired.
Commando Steve says that Bob may struggle a bit on fitness and strength but he’s got the mental strength and will push through to the end.
Nathan’s pushing very hard too. He can barely even respond to The Commando.
Steve says he expects everything from them and they better have given it everything. When you step on the scales you need to have given it your all!
Oooh, a catch up with Ben!
He’s looking pretty good. Still a little round.
127-132 pants, when he started. Now he can fit into 97s!
He’s quite proud of his achievements in the last couple of months.
Now a catchup with Teresa.
She’s flashing her “guns”. Which look suspiciously like arms…
She’s definitely a lot smaller than when she started and she can’t wait to see how good she looks at finale!
Bob and Nathan head off to their island weigh-in.
Bob had had a 1kg loss first up, then 9kg. He’s worried he’ll have another bad one this week.
Nathan’s hoping for 3 or 4kg loss after his 5kg of last week.
Bob gets the joy of going first tonight.
Bob’s current weight: 101.7kg
Loss: 3.2kg
Not bad, Bob! Bob was hoping to get under 100kg this week. He’s a little stunned that he didn’t. He trained hard and doesn’t know what else he could’ve done.
Nathan’s hoping to catch Bob up a little bit with that loss of Bob’s.
Nathan’s current weight: 105.5kg
Loss: … GAIN: 1.3kg
Ouch. He looks shattered. “Weight gain. Weight. Gain. In a weight loss show I’ve just become the biggest gainer.”
He says he trains hard every day and if it ever gets tough he motivates himself with his kids and his soon to be wife. But he feels like he’s let them down with a weight gain.
Steve says not to let it get him down. Reflect on the things you can change and get on with it.
Time for the Fat Campers to weigh in now too!
They’re all nervous about the weigh-in because their routine has been thrown out of whack due to being in New Zealand all week facing their fears and whatnot.
Ajay has a weird black dress with a shinyshiny black transparent top-y bit. Has little sparkly stones on it. Ooooh!
The Yellow Line is still in play so there’ll only be three above it this week and two below. Not great odds!
Sean’s up first.
Sean’s current weight: 89.6kg
Loss: 1.8kg
Percentage: 1.97%
80s club! He says it’s been a long time since he’s been under 90kg.
Sean says he thought about his Dad a great deal while climbing up Mount Tarawera. Especially at Echo Point where he had to say he’s proud to his Dad!
Julie’s lucky! She gets to go next!
She’s not very confident because Sean hadn’t done a huge number and they’d been doing most everything together all week.
Julie’s current weight: 89.9kg
Loss: 2.6kg
Percentage: 2.81%
80s club! She’s stoked, too. She says it’s great!
Julie says she had no confidence in herself and that’s why she never thought she’d make it so far into the comp. Now she’s doing things she’d never thought possible.
And with her percentage she’s in first place!
Tiffany’s turn.
Tiffany’s current weight: 76.5kg
Loss: 3.7kg
Percentage: 4.61%
… 70s club! And by quite a ways, too! Sammy’s face is priceless. She’s stunned!
Tiffany’s over the moon!
She says the old Tiffany dreamed of going skydiving. Dreamed she’d have enough courage to do it. And now she’s done it. But not just done it, she pulled the cord and everything! Best experience of her whole entire life.
Above marrying your husband? Above giving birth to your daughter? Yikes!
And her percentage? “Golly!” Yes, she’s in first place so far!
Sean’s now in third with only Cam and Sam to go. Either of them beating him will push him below the Line.
Cam needs at least 3.5kg to stay above the Yellow Line.
Cam’s current weight: 121.9kg
Loss: 0.7kg
Percentage: 0.57%
Sam’s even more shocked by that. Cam doesn’t look too happy either.
Cam’s looking at the 121.9kg, not the 700 grams, he tells Ajay. He’s on the way to a goal and he’s going to get there!
When he was standing at the bottom of the abseiling cliff and Michelle said they’d be going down there – the old Cameron would have asked why, we’re down here already!
If you’re in your comfort zone and not having the highs and lows, just a flat line, flat line people are dead.
Cam says you’re going to have bad days and bad weeks but the journey doesn’t finish there, you just keep going.
Ajay grins over at Sam who’s gesticulating quietly. Ajay asks Sam, “Do you recognise this man?” Sam says no! Every time he says an answer she’s looking at Julie and asking if he’s kidding!
Sam knows he’s changed massively. She knows he’d changed, but today was the big test and he passed it with flying colours.
Sam says she loves her new Dad and the other girls all give an “Awww!”
So Cam will definitely be facing elimination as he’s under the Yellow Line.
Sammy will need a loss of at least 1.8kg to avoid the elimination room and send Sean there instead.
Sam’s current weight: 83.8kg
Loss: 3.2kg
Percentage: 3.68%
“Yaya!” She was hoping for 2kg to make 85 and now she’s under it! She’s got a huge grin on her face.
She’s in second place because Tiffany and ahead of Julie. The three girls are above the Line and the two boys are below!
And Tiffany is confirmed as this week’s Biggest Loser.
Oh, also. She’s now gone past Sean as the overall Biggest Loser! For the first time this year a girl is leading the competition.
But tomorrow night Sean and Cam will be facing elimination.
Tiffany says for the girl power plan she has, having the two boys below the line is great!
Sean’s fairly sure he’ll be going home as he’s the bigger threat.
Tomorrow night, Cam drops a bombshell – he’s ready to go home! Sam wishes he’d keep it to himself though!
Will they give him his wish? Find out tomorrow night!
